Even though you've grown to find Rin a bit more tolerable, you wouldn't say you were comfortable with being partnered up with him.

"Please, Mr. Itobe, pick someone else for me!" which was why you were spending your recess break in the faculty, begging your Chemistry teacher to change his mind.

"No, L/n. I won't change anything." he firmly says, and at this point you were close to crying.

"But why him? We don't even get along well,"

"That's exactly why I paired you with him. I heard from Ms. Hanamiya the two of you bicker a lot, take this as an opportunity to make amends." he justifies— maybe the relationship was influencing him too much.

But you weren't going to back down, "We can make amends even without the activity, please Mr. Itobe."

"That'd be unfair for your classmates."

Your face droops and your mouth turns into a deep frown, he tries to not look at you and focus on whatever he was working on in his computer, but your stare was making him uncomfortable, "Okay, fine. This will be the first and last time I'll let this happen. I'll tell you who you'll be partnered with tomorrow," he sighs in an exasperated way, "And I better not hear you complain about it again."

You smile widely as you nod eagerly, "Thank you so much, Mr. Itobe!"

"Now go back to your classroom," he shoos you away and grumbles to himself.

With the battle ending, you finally reign as the victor. You merrily make your way back to your room, everyone else had already finished their break.

"Where have you been, L/n?" Kaneshiro asks, ripping open a pack of melon pan.

"The faculty," you answer him, taking a seat.

"You were there the whole break?" he blinks as his eyebrows are raised, and you nod in response.

He offered you his bread, "Here, have it, I've already eaten a lot." you look at it and see that there was a bite taken out of it, you laugh at him.

"Let's split the bread,"

You've been staring at a word problem in your textbook for who knows how long now.

With your head in your hands, you've read the problem about five times now, you struggled to identify what formula or process you'll use with the given numbers.

You heave a sigh, taking your pencil from the table as you attempt to solve it. "Are you constipated? You'll break your pencil if you keep pushing that hard." an uncalled for comment butts in, which makes you shoot your head up.

It was Itoshi Rin, he was carrying three books, one of which was the same math textbook you took from the shelves.

"I'd prefer it if you help me with solving this. Go away, let me suffer in peace." you grumble, pulling your eyes away from him then back to your paper.

Rin sighs and clicks his tongue, he takes a chair out, "Move over," he says, taking the pencil from your hand. You lean back on your chair, surprised at his voluntary action.

"What are you doing?"

"What does it look like? Just listen carefully." he glares at you.

He starts to analyze the problem and writes down the given numbers, then he explains what you needed to solve for.

His tone was blunt, and his voice was cold and deep. Every now and then he'd turn to look at you, just to check if you were paying attention. Surprisingly enough, you easily got a grasp of it with him teaching you.

"Do you need another example?" he asks.

"Yup."

You stare at the back of his head as he tries to look for a more complex problem, you could smell his cologne and shampoo. "Here, I'll solve number 1 then you solve number 2." he stops at a page.

"Oh...sure." you clear your throat. He then continues on with tutoring you before handing you the pencil.

He watched as you tried to solve the problem on your own, and it made you feel shy, "Stop staring, this is peer pressure."

"You should be pressured. I can't believe you're struggling with this lesson." he scoffs.

You roll your eyes at him before resuming, after about five or six minutes, you're finally done with it. He checks for mistakes and slightly nods in approval, "You got it."

You grin at him, "You know, you'd make a great teacher if you weren't so irritable." he shoots a glare at you, "You should teach me again next time." you suddenly change your mind with the whole by-pair thing, you were hoping Mr. Itobe wouldn't give you another earful when you inform him that you're now okay with Rin being your partner.

"No way, I don't have time to waste." he declines, but he can't seem to ignore the smile plastered on your face.
