-fast forward to after red light, green light-

you and the remaining players enter the dorm, everyone absolutely sick.

you're staggering back to your bed when you hear your name being shouted.

"y/n! y/n, you're alive!" sang-woo yells. he rushes over to you and wraps you in a big hug.

"yeah, i made it. i'm glad you did too." you say to him. "i was really worried, i'm glad you're okay." he tells you.

the guards come out and announce that it's time for lights out. you crawl back into your bunk, and sang-woo takes a bed close to yours.

"night, y/n." he tells you. "night!" back. you put on your blanket and slowly drift to sleep.

-fast forward to morning-

the bright florescent lights click on and abruptly wake you up. you're getting deja-vรบ from yesterday.

you crawl out of bed and put on your blood covered shoes. you walk down the concrete stairs into the main area.

sang-woo appears beside you. "hey, how did you sleep?" he asks you. "i slept fine, how about you?" you ask. "i didn't sleep." he says a bit grimly. "oh."

the guards appear in the front of the room, and it goes silent. suddenly, a woman-212 starts to cry and beg to go home. "please sir, i have to name my child!" she pleads.

a few other women start to cry and ask to go home. the square guard speaks up.

"i believe there has been a misunderstanding. we are not trying to harm you or collect your debts." he says.

"but that doesn't justify killing us all!" a man screams.

"those players were simply eliminated for not following the rules of the game. if you follow the rules, you may leave safely with the money promised." the square bounces back.

"so..you think this is all just a game?" the same player yells.

it starts to get chaotic and people start to quote consent form clauses and debate with each other. during this whole thing,

sang-woo then states something that changes the whole situation. "clause 3: if the majority agrees, a game may be terminated."

"you are correct. we will hold a vote on whether or not to terminate the game." the square guard tells everyone.

-time skip to after voting-

the old man has just chosen "x". it's over. sang-woo looks at you sadly, and to be honest, you're sad too.

the reality that you're probably never going to see him again sets in. you feel tears prick you eyes.

"it truly is a pity that we must say goodbye to you like this. but, we will not totally seal the door of opportunity. if the majority agrees, the game may be resumed. so, goodbye for now." the square guard says.

a gas fills the room and everything goes black.

you feel yourself hit the concrete before you see it. actually, before you see anything. you're blindfolded, and your hands and wrists are tied. you also realize that you don't have any clothes on.

you manage to wriggle your hands free and remove the blindfold. you untie your feet and get dressed again. that's when you realize that there's someone else with you.

"sang-woo? is that you?" you ask. yeah, it's him. "let me help you! sorry i didn't notice you before." you tell him.

"it's fine, thanks for untying me." he replies. he gets dressed again, and the two of you start walking together.

"so, where are you from? is your home near here?" he asks you. "i..don't really know. where are we right now?" you ask him.

he looks around him and then tells you "we're in seoul." "that's good news for me, i live on the outskirts of seoul. what about you?" you say relieved.

"i live nearby." he simply says. after walking for a bit, you two finally stop at a bus station.

"well, my house is just down there. do you have money for a bus?" he asks.

"no, it's fine. i can walk back. thank you though." you tell him.

"y/n, you can't walk back by yourself. not at this time of night. it's too dangerous." he warns you.

"i swear, i'm okay. thanks for worrying, though." you assure him. he isn't having it. he takes out his wallet and hands you some cash.

"please, take a bus back. do it for me, i'd be worried sick if you walked." he begs. you hesitate for a second. "i don't have the money to pay you back." you tell him.

"you don't need to. i promise. "well, okay. thank you so much. i really appreciate it." you say as you slowly take the money. he smiles like he's relieved.

you two exchange phone numbers and start to go your separate ways. before you can fully depart, he gives you a hug. you hug him back and he goes while you wait for the bus.

-fast forward to home-

you're walking down the hallway of your apartment building, on the way to your place. you're still trying to process what just happened.

as you reach the door, you notice a yellow paper stuck on it. "you've got to be kidding me."

it's an eviction notice.

you sit in your bed curled up in the fetal position. what are you going to do? you haven't got any family in south korea. your job is unstable. now you're getting evicted.

as you're sulking, someone starts to pound on your door. i mean pound. you try to ignore it, hoping they'll go away but to no avail.

"oh my god, what could somebody want from me right now!?" you half-shout. you march to the door and open it.

there's nobody there. you look up and down the hallway; still nobody. you look down at the doormat. "what the fu-" you mumble.

the card is there. the same exact card. you lean over to pick it up and study it. the same number is there.
it feels like a godsend. you have another chance.

you rush to the phone and dial the number. the same masculine sounding voice answers.

"do you wish to re-enter the game? if you do, please state your name and player number."

"y/n y/l/n, player 333." you say.

"welcome back, player 333. the meeting place and time are the same as previous. good luck." the voice says and hangs up.

"well, round two i guess. let's do this!" you say to yourself.

you slip on your sneakers and lock the door to your apartment. as you do, the reality sets in.
"this could be the last time you see your apartment, y/n." you think. oh boy, cold feet.

you push through it, and eventually are over it. you walk back to the same place and wait for a good 45 minutes. the same white van rolls up and opens the door.

you climb in and are greeted by the same gas. you inhale it and it's lights out for you.
