gojō could not stop smiling. though he was usually seen with his insufferable grin, this expression had seemed far more pure.
at least, akina believed so.

earlier that day, akina had been feeling quite awkward, with gojō gone to attend to some other business, she was left alone with his students, not that she particularly disliked them as such, she would say she found herself to be more of an outsider to their group.

she wandered the halls, feeling the temptation of hunger linger in the back of her mind as she searched for where she could get something to eat.

eventually finding the kitchen, she glanced around, breathing out a small sigh of relief when she saw that no one else was there. walking up to the cupboards, she opened them, finding a variety of pots and pans.

she awkwardly closed it, realising she had no idea what to even cook. akina didn't even know where to look for the actual food when she heard muted footsteps getting closer to her.

looking over she saw fushiguro megumi, almost mirroring her exact movements upon entering the room, checking for other people when his eyes landed on her.

"uh," he cleared his throat, keeping his hands in his pockets, "hello"

"hi" akina replied back quietly.

she moved out of his way as he grabbed some utensils from the drawers while akina tried to act occupied, grabbing herself a glass of water.

"are you hungry?" he asked, breaking the silence once more.

akina turned to look at him, now wearing an apron with pink frills around the border. megumi followed her line of sight, realising what she was staring at as he blushed warmly.

falling into the routine of cooking on his own, megumi had completely forgotten how ridiculous he would've looked in that moment.

"this isn't mine," he blurted out in defence making akina look at him strangely, "well, it is, but gojō-sensei got it for me, i never actually asked for it"

"what are you making?" akina asked, trying to save the boy from embarrassing himself further.

"itadori showed me how to make these meatballs" he answered, still looking slightly embarrassed.

akina nodded.

"i'll help you"

"you're good at cooking, fushiguro"

before megumi could reply to akina, gojō walked in with a small bag of sweets in his hand, greeting them both happily.

"ah, megumi, did you save any for me?" he asked as he took a seat beside akina.

"no" megumi answered, quickly splitting the leftover food between his and akina's plate.

gojō waved it off, grabbing his own set of chopsticks as he recounted to akina how megumi was able to use his domain expansion against a special grade curse the other day. megumi only seemed to shy away from the praise, focussing intently in the bowl in front of him in an attempt to hide his burning ears.

"he's been working so hard on that," gojō smiled, taking a bite of food from akina's bowl before turning to megumi with a teasing smile, "i'm proud of you, megumi-chan"

"thanks, dad"

the three fell to a momentary silence as megumi's eyes widened, still facing his bowl, not daring to look up once he realised what he'd said.

"did you call gojō-sensei dad?"

akina looked over to see itadori and nobara standing at the doorway, wide smiles on their faces as they looked at megumi.

"no..." megumi replied slowly.

"you just said thanks dad" itadori repeated, looking confused.

"no!" megumi felt his face burn, "i- shut up!"

itadori and nobara burst into laughter while gojō sat with the brightest smile she'd ever seen on him.

"aw megumi," gojō reached over to pinch his cheek annoyingly, "it's no problem, son"

"what?" megumi pulled away from gojō's hands, "don't call me that!"

"do you wanna play catch outside?" gojō asked making itadori laugh loudly.

megumi crossed his arms on the table, burying his head in his arms, only looking up through the small gap to glare at itadori.

"fushiguro," nobara called his name sternly, "listen to your father"

itadori and gojō started laughing once more while akina hid her small smile behind her hand, watching megumi grow increasingly flustered.

nobara and itadori continued to pester him until he decided to cover his ears and shut his eyes while leaving the room, the other two following loudly after him.

akina turned back to see gojō smiling to himself, helping himself to whatever megumi had leftover in his bowl.

"you look-" akina paused for a moment as gojō looked up at her, "happy"

"i guess i am," gojō laughed slightly, "it's so easy to embarrass megumi, you know"

"you're good at it" akina nodded, rolling her eyes subtly while gojō grinned.

akina continued to stare at gojō, beaming brightly as though he had accomplished an impossible task. his happiness was genuine, she noted, a joy that made her feel like she was the one experiencing it.

akina got jealous very easily, she'd known this for a long time. seeing how euphoric he was just from the simple way megumi addressed him, akina found herself yearning for gojō's affection even more.

"but it's nice," akina added.

gojō looked at her in confusion as she realised how lucky megumi was to have someone who cared for him as gojō did, someone who wasn't even blood related to him forming the closest familial bond, which was more than akina could say about anyone of her own clan.

"you and fushiguro," she continued quietly, looking at the doorway, "he's lucky to have you, satoru"

satoru could hardly contain his smile, though he wasn't very good at outwardly showing his care, he truly wanted only the best for megumi, and to see that megumi had reciprocated his same feelings brought him elation like no other.

gojō smiled at akina, even wider seeing how she looked at him with an admiration he'd never realised.

"i'm lucky to have him"

akina's expression quickly turned to one of irritation noticing that gojō had picked up the last meatball for himself.

"sorry," gojō apologised completely artificially, "did you want this?"

"fushiguro made it for me," akina reminded him as she tried to snatch the meatball from his hold.

"here," gojō held it closer to her mouth, giving her a smile that made her heart race.

akina reluctantly opened her mouth, taking a small bite. the moment her lips brushed against the chopsticks, a white flash engulfed the pair, seemingly out of nowhere.

"itadori! get off my foot!"

itadori flinched as nobara roughly elbowed him, the two of them along with megumi had managed to find themselves inside gojō's closet.

the three of them not wanting to get in trouble for ruining one of his shirts, which itadori found hard to believe cost ¥250 000, decided to secretly check gojō's wardrobe for any cleaning materials.

after a minute of searching, megumi heard the distant voices of akina and gojō reverberating down the hall, immediately pulling the door shut as he squeezed into a corner with itadori and nobara, praying that gojō left quickly.

"god, you're so short" akina's voice whined loudly as she pushed open the door to the room.

"shut up," gojō's voice replied, sounding annoyed, "your arms are too long"

megumi, nobara and itadori all leaned closer, peaking through the gap of the door of the closest at the uncharacteristic conversation they were overhearing.

they watched as gojō leaned closer to a mirror, a blank stare as he awkwardly tried to tie his blindfold loosely around his neck.

"i got it" akina winked at gojō, reaching out to grab the material and gently tying it around his eyes.

"what's happening?" itadori asked quietly, completely confused.

"something's not right," megumi agreed, "it's like-"

"itadori, if you step on my foot one more time, i'll slap you" nobara gritted through her teeth.

"stop getting in the way then!" itadori argued, his voice growing slightly louder.

"that's it-"

just as nobara grabbed itadori by his collar, the pair accidentally knocked into megumi causing him to fall against the door, leaving it to open suddenly with a loud noise.

akina and gojō stared at each other for a moment before examining the scene before them.

"gojō-sensei!" itadori quickly scrambled to his feet, feeling embarrassed as he bowed, "we're sorry for intruding!"

"don't worry about it, yuuji" akina waved him off with a smile.

"tuna tuna"

panda nodded as inumaki toge made some strange gestures with his hands.

"huh?" nobara stared at the two in confusion.

"they swapped bodies," panda explained, referring to gojō and akina, "nanami said it'll last only 24 hours at most"

"ah, i feel so bad" nobara shook her head sadly.

"i know," itadori nodded solemnly, "gojō-sensei is-"

"no, i meant akina," nobara interrupted before wiping a fake tear from her eye, "she's stuck in that ugly idiot's body"

"how did you find out?" megumi asked curiously to his two upperclassmen.

"tuna mayo" toge raised his hands in defence.

"he said it's his fault" panda pointed at the shorter boy, purposefully mistranslating what he said.

inumaki immediately shook his head, frantically looking between all the first years while making a little cross with his fingers.

"bonito flakes!"

meanwhile gojō and akina stood at the entrance of the school, just about to leave the building when akina noticed something.

"when did you change your clothes?" akina, still in gojō's body, crossed her arms, eyeing him up and down.

he had decided to wear an extremely low cut top, not only that, but it clung tightly to his, well her skin, leaving her entire midriff exposed.

"what?" gojō smiled at her, enjoying thoroughly how annoyed akina was at him being in her body, "you don't like it?"

"no"

"what-"

akina took of gojō's jacket, reluctantly. she thought it had a nice fragrance but decided against saying that aloud, throwing it at him before he could finish his sentence.

"wear this" she told him plainly.

"sharing your jacket with me?" gojō grinned, pulling the jacket over his arms, "don't you wanna ask me out on a date first?"

akina glared at him before looking down at what she was wearing, seeing gojō had for some reason decided to wear a very fitted black t-shirt.

she stared for a moment, eyeing the way his slender yet muscly arms looked, his pale skin appearing as smooth as paper.

"enjoying yourself?" gojō smiled smugly, watching her ogle herself in his body.

akina felt her ears burn, immediately looking away to meet gojō's eyes, she thought it felt strange to look at her own face holding so much self-satisfaction.

"not as much as you," akina pointed to the short skirt gojō had decided to wear, "clearly"

"akina?"

a soft series of knocks followed the call of her name. she jumped slightly, having been in the middle of changing into more comfortable clothes to sleep, realising she'd gotten distracted after taking her shirt off.

the day had been long and demanding, with akina and gojō having to have the awkward conversation of how they'd be going to the bathroom and change their clothes.

gojō had even had a meeting with principal yaga earlier in the afternoon, akina having to attend in his place was very awkward to say the least. on her way back, she realised how much attention gojō satoru garnered on a daily basis, getting stopped on the street by random women, and sometimes men, all fawning over her appearance.

another flurry of knocks followed and akina quickly tugged a random top on, opening the door with a blank stare.

"what is it?" she asked immediately.

"i can't sleep" gojō answered with a frown.

"i'm not singing you a lullaby" akina replied, moving to shut the door in his face when he quickly reached out to stop her.

"no, it's-" gojō paused, feeling slightly awkward, "i can't sleep with this"

gojō avoided eye contact as he gestured to his chest. akina's eyes widened watching him point so brazenly, quickly slapping his hands away.

"what do you want me to do about my boo-"

"no! not that!" gojō interrupted her before she said anything to make the situation more embarrassing, leaning closer to whisper in her ear.

akina pulled away, feeling her face burn with shyness.

"oh"

"look, this isn't how i imagined you undressing me either" gojō told her, looking slightly disappointed making akina glare at him.

"i'll take it off for you then," she spoke quietly, "but you have to close your eyes"

gojō nodded, shutting his eyes as he stood very still. akina reached under her shirt that he wore, trying to maintain a distance between them as she unclasped the bra. just as she felt it become undone, a familiar white flash engulfed them.

akina immediately opened her eyes only to find gojō with his hands under her top, face barely a few inches from hers.

akina remained frozen, unsure of what to think, or even do, on the one hand she was relieved to see gojō's face in front of her, reminding her that she'd finally returned to her own body.

on the other hand, gojō satoru had not moved his hands from their position.

akina slowly put her hands on his wrists, guiding him away from her body when gojō suddenly snapped out of his stupor.

"do you wanna keep going?" gojō asked with a sly grin.

akina, still feeling the warmth of his fingers on her skin, was unbelievably flustered, her thoughts becoming scrambled as she stared into his eyes.

he laughed, sliding his hands down her sides, causing akina to flush slightly. gojō opened his mouth, a teasing remark just about to escape when his eyes fell to a small stack of papers on the coffee table.

he walked over, flicking through them briefly, realising that they had all been filled out perfectly. he turned back to akina, a smile still on his face, though it wasn't as mocking as before.

"i filled them out," akina spoke, looking away for the moment, "you told me you found it boring"

"thank you," gojō smiled, genuinely.

akina waved it off, she told him it wasn't too hard and that she had nothing to do anyway, so don't think i did it for you.

gojō simply nodded, watching her leave his room before flopping down on to his couch, sighing with a love struck smile while wondering how in the world he felt so weakened by her mundane actions.

how disarmed he felt when he saw her face in the luminescence of his favourite lights that shone around his room.

it felt like the world tiptoed down his spine, the chill he felt when she was dressed with the pink blush she so desperately tried to hide from him.

it was so frustratingly difficult, how they met, the circumstances they were in, the world they lived in. yet gojō satoru found her to the most devastatingly fascinating, capturing his attention with the mere blink of her eye.

"akina?"

gojō looked over to see itadori entering his room, holding something behind his back.

akina? gojō thought to himself before realising he hadn't known they had swapped back to their own bodies.

"don't tell gojō sensei," he continued before holding out a completely destroyed white shirt, "but can you hide this somewhere in his closet?"

gojō picked it up, holding it by his two fingers as he observed the state it was in.

"yuuji," gojō placed the shirt down, "akina is in her room"

itadori seemed as though he'd gone through the five stages of grief in that instance, immediately bowing at a 90 degree angle.

"it was kugisaki, i swear!"
