Y/N'S POV

I'll never forget the day Matt, my loving boyfriend, convinced me to go to the water park with him and his brothers, Chris and Nick. I was a nervous wreck the whole time, clinging to Matt's arm like a barnacle on a rock. But Matt, being the romantic that he is, promised me that it would be fun, and that I'd die from laughter.

I'm petrified of water and heights, so climbing to the tops of slides was already nerve-wracking, but then plunging into cold water just added a new level of fear.

As we walked through the gates, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fear. The tall water slides, the splashing water, and the deafening music all made me want to retreat back to the safety of my car. But Matt, sensing my unease, wrapped his arm around me and whispered in my ear, "Hey, don't worry bubs . I'm here with you. We're gonna have so much fun, it'll be the best vlog yet!"

Chris and Nick, always the troublemakers, were already racing each other down the water slides, whooping and hollering like a couple of lunatics. Matt chuckled and nudged me playfully. "Want to join us? We're gonna go to the biggest slide on the park!"

I hesitated, but Matt's enthusiasm was infectious. "Okay, fine," I said, trying to sound brave. "But if I freak out, you're carrying me out of here. I'm not kidding."

Nick grinned. "That's the spirit! Come on, Y/N."

We made our way to the top of the slide, and as we waited in line, I felt my anxiety spike again.

Being this high up made my legs feel like jelly. "It's alright bubs, you don't have to do it if you don't want to." But I just shook my head, I was determined to face two of my fears again.

Matt just held my hand and told me stories about our first date, when we went to a movie and laughed so hard that we nearly got kicked out. He reminded me of all the good times we'd shared together, ehich helped calm my nerves.

When it was finally our turn to ride, Matt helped me up onto the platform and gave me a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. "You got this Y/N, we can go down together," he whispered.

As we crept towards the edge of the slide, I felt like I was going to throw up. Matt must have sensed it because he pulled me close and whispered in my ear again, "Breathe, bubs. It's just water, I'm with you.."

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Matt sat behind me, wrapping his arms around my stomach, as I clutched his hands and then he pushed us both forward. And before I could think twice, we were plummeting down the slide.

"Ah fuck!" I screamed at Matt's laughter echoed through the small, colourful slide.

I screamed at the top of my lungs as we twisted and turned through tunnels and curves. The rush of wind and water in my face was exhilarating, and for a moment, I forgot all about my fear.

When we emerged from the slide, Matt lifted me up onto his shoulders and carried me into a giant wave pool. I squealed with laughter as he pushed me into the water and then helped me back up again into his arms.

Chris and Nick joined us soon after, whooping it up in their own splash-filled antics. As we spent the rest of the day going from one water attraction to another, I realized that Matt had been right – I had died in laughter.

We wrapped up the video, and then packed everything away in our bags, before making our way back to the car.

As we left the water park that evening, exhausted but exhilarated, Matt turned to me with a mischievous glint in his eye. "See? I told you it would be fun!"

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "Yeah yeah yeah. You win."

Matt chuckled and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Anytime you need convincing, Y/N."

I leaned into him, feeling grateful for my friends and boyfriend and our little adventure at the water park.

"You know what?" I said as we walked away from the park gates.

"What's that?" Matt asked.

"I think I might be ready for another day at the water park... as long as you're with me."

Matt grinned down at me. "Let's go! We'll definitely do this again."
