"𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗴, 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗴, 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗴!" Everyone shouted as they surrounded a table where Shidou Ryusei and Michael Kaiser stood gulping down the drinks in their hands. It was just your average high school party; however, this time it was hosted at Shidou's household.
Everyone erupted in cheers as soon as Kaiser placed his now-empty glass on the table while he lifted his arms in the air while cheering.
On the other hand, Shidou was unhappy with his loss resulting to him groaning as Kaiser kept on teasing him for losing.
(Y/n) followed Haru's line of vision to see her staring at Kaiser. After a few seconds, Kaiser also looked at Haru and winked, which caused the said girl to feel all mushy inside and avert her gaze elsewhere.
(Y/n) silently giggled.
"There he is! Sae, over here!" Shidou called out. And just like that, (Y/n)'s smile was wiped off her face.
There he was, standing with that annoyingly handsome face of his while wearing his usual scowl. Luckily for (Y/n), Sae hadn't noticed her... yet.
The (h/c) haired girl looked to her side noticing that she was alone, none of her friends were around. (Y/n) hurriedly exited the room as she looked for either Rin or Haru.
While looking for the two, she bumped into a stranger but with memories. "(Y/n)?" It was Akari, who looked surprised to see (Y/n). "No thank you, I won't let you spill punch on me again." (Y/n) stated as she turned to leave.
"Wai-" Before Akari could continue, she heard Emiko's calls for her as she was forced to leave (Y/n)'s side. The (h/c) haired girl stared in confusion at Akari as she left, however; brushing the moment off.
After what felt like hours, but was only a few minutes, (Y/n) located Rin talking to Isagi and Seishiro. "Hey guys." (Y/n) greeted as if that encounter with Akari never happened. "Oh, (Y/n), I thought Haru was with you," Rin replied.
"Yeah, but she suddenly disappeared, she's probably with Kaiser or some shit, I don't really care." (Y/n) rolled her eyes playfully. "Haru and Kaiser? Now that's some news!" Isagi exclaimed. "What if we spy on them? It's only an idea though..." Nagi suggests as the group agrees and leaves to scan the house for the two lovebirds.
"Found them." Rin pointed at where the two were located. There the two stood near the balcony railings conversing as they laughed at something Kaiser said.
(Y/n) stared at the two in awe. Even though that moment reminded her of Sae, she pushed away her feelings. She wouldn't want to ruin her best friend's moment, even if it awakened some memories of the times she and Sae spent together.
"They're so cute!" (Y/n) gushed with excitement and adoration. "Shut up, they're gonna hear us..! Oh no..." Isagi whisper shouted as he noticed Haru and Kaiser looking towards the quadruple that were watching behind the glass doors.
Red tinted both of the lovebird's cheeks as Haru made her way towards them and pulled (Y/n) away after bidding farewell to a now frowning Kaiser.
"Oh my god, I think I just had the best night of my life." Haru grinned at (Y/n) who giggled. "You have to tell me everything that happened, Haru." (Y/n) spoke.
"It felt like we were the only two people present as if no one else was around." Anything after that was muffled to (Y/n) once she noticed Sae standing only a few meters behind Haru.
Once the two made eye contact, (Y/n) felt her chest flutter. She cursed herself for still having feelings for the auburn-haired male after what he had done back at nationals. (Y/n) cursed herself again for remembering that moment.
"(Y/n), (Y/n)..! Are you even listening to me?" Haru asked. The (h/c) haired girl felt guilty for not paying attention to what her friend was saying. "I'm sorry, I was just thinking! Continue." (Y/n) plastered a fake smile as Haru raised an eyebrow suspiciously, but she continued explaining the situation she had with Kaiser anyway.
"Haru, (Y/n)! You guys have to go do the drinking challenge." Rin suggested as he headed to the two girls and pulled them towards the table where Kaiser and Shidou once stood before. "But I don't wanna get drunk tonight." (Y/n) groaned as she was met with a grinning Haru who held a glass in her hand.
"You're scared that you'll lose, admit it." Haru teased as she handed (Y/n) the glass. "Oh, you're so on!" (Y/n) smiled as the crowd cheered around them. "And, go!" The two girls didn't spend any time as they chugged down the whole glass.
However, (Y/n) managed to finish before Haru as she raised her empty glass in the air. The rush of alcohol made her face feel hot as she wobbled a bit. It has been ages since (Y/n) had any alcohol in her system.
Sae watched from the crowds, he made sure to blend in so (Y/n) wouldn't notice him. As the auburn-haired male watched the challenge between the two girls, he couldn't help but feel worried for (Y/n). He has always been there for her when she was drunk; however, this time he wasn't
He watched the (h/c) haired girl wobble a bit as she laughed.
Her laugh...
Her laughter was a melody, a cascade of tinkling bells in a sunlit garden. It danced from her lips, delicate and effervescent, painting the air with hues of joy. With each giggle, the world seemed to brighten, as if touched by the gentle caress of springtime.
His eyes locked onto her, wide with wonder, as if beholding a masterpiece for the first time. In her presence, he found himself spellbound, lost in the depths of her grace and radiance. He watched her from afar, a silent spectator to the echoes of their past.
Though his heart yearned to bridge the silence between them, he remained anchored by the weight of unspoken words, knowing that their bond now lingered only in the silent spaces between their gazes.
He really missed her, he thought.
