Slamming the door shut, the figure glanced over his shoulder before taking off running. He was leaving the house that no longer felt like home, the family who treated him differently, everyone and everything. He was tired. He was angry. He just wanted to escape. He hoped to find a place where he could belong, surrounded by people who wouldn't judge him. But he knew it was a long shot.

He was a walking contradiction, a tough guy with a soft spot, a delinquent who yearned for acceptance.

He'd curse at anyone who got in his way, maybe even throw a punch or two. He'd make his own way, even if it meant being alone. He didn't need anyone. He could do it all by himself.

But... why?

"Don't worry, even if the world turns against you, I won't..."

"I'll always be here for you, no matter what! You know, sometimes the world can be a really scary place, but we can face it together."

"We'll be okay, I promise!"

Why were you like this? You've always been like this! He hated it. He hated the way your eyes sparkled every time they met. He hated the way your face lit up when you were with him, that stupid grin that never faded.

He hated your cheerful voice, the way it resonated through him, making him feel... things. He hated that everything about you was so damn bright. He hated that, even though he tried to tell himself he hated you, he knew it wasn't true.

You were his definition of beauty, joy, and...love.

"Listen, listen! I went to this new restaurant and then tried some of their foods, what's disappointing is that they already ran out of it so soon! I only took a nibble and that happened..."

"Oh, but you know what? I saw this adorable little puppy outside, and it was just so cute! It wagged its tail and licked my hand, and I just couldn't resist giving it a big hug! It was so soft and fluffy, I could have just taken it home with me!"

You never stopped. He tried everything to push you away. Even when you got hurt, you came back. You stayed. You never left. You were just there always.

Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve a man like you to pester his way into my messed up life? We're opposites. You're vibrant, jovial, caring, a depth of kindness—everything that defines what's good and beautiful. And I'm... well, I'm the opposite of that. But what did this flawed man do to have such a heavensent as yourself?

"Y'know you can count on me, right? Nonetheless, if you still kept pushing me away, I wouldn't budge. I refuse to leave!"

"Stubborn..? Yeah, that's me so, deal with it! Hehe But seriously, you know I'm just trying to help, right? Even if you don't want it, I'll still be here for you, cheering you on!"

"You're strong, I already know you're aware of that. You can do anything you set your mind to."

For the last time, I want to be selfish... To whoever gods out there listening, I beg of you to not let this idiotic fool that I've come to love to not leave me.

And I, Haruka Sakura, would do anything I can to make this man in front of me be the happiest, to protect him at all costs and to be with him always, even just from afar.

I know he was out of character right there and it was a short chapter but, think of this as some kind of a teaser(?) A hint on what or how this story would go with some of the characters(your love interests)! I would also like to let you know that I'm working on another book it's a Jujutsu Kaisen with another male reader.
