โยฐ แ เผ UNTIL THERE WAS YOU
chapter eight. new york scandal , part 1.
"So he told you he liked you" Kelly repeats, making sure he heard his best friend right.
"Yup" Sam answers, drinking from her cup of coffee.
Samantha decided to head over to Kelly's place -well technically it's Matt and Gabby's place- to talk to him about what had happened the night before with Jay.
"And you said?"
Flashback...
"Can I ask you something?" Jay asks.
"Yeah, what's up?" Sam says sitting criss cross on the bed.
"How do you think this partnership is going?"
"Really well, why? Do you not think so?"
"No, I think it's going great. But what if I said something that will change that"
Sam chuckles and says, "I don't think it will. Try me"
Jay sighs, "I like you Sam, like a lot. I think we have this connection, that I just can't ignore anymore"
Sam's face falls into shock, "Jay I uh-" then the brunette girl clears her throat.
"God , I knew it. I shouldn't have said anything" Jay says, standing up and runs his hands over his face.
"Jay-" Sam tries to say but Jay just rambles on and doesn't hear the brunette talking, "How could I believe someone like you would like someone like me"
Sam stands up and says, "Jay!"
Jay turns around to see his crush standing right in front of him and closing the space between them. Sam wraps her arms around Jay's neck and he places his hands on her waist, pulling her closer to him, never wanting to let go. Sam pulls away from Jay's soft lips, even though she really, really doesn't want to.
"Jay, calm down. I like you too" Sam says, to which Jay smiles.
Jay lifts the girl up by her thighs and Sam wraps her legs around the boys waist, holding onto him, as he brings her over and pins her to the wall and starts kissing her neck and-
"Alright, I don't need really need to hear this" Kelly says interrupting the story.
Well I guess the flashback is over now...
"And to think I was just getting to the good part" Sam smiles, making Kelly rolls his eyes. Sam looks at her watch to see that the time is now 8 a.m., "I gotta go. Gotta do grown up stuff, like do laundry"
"You really have to leave?" Kelly whines. Sam smiles and says, "Yes"
Sam gets up and goes to grab her bag when Kelly gets up and wraps his arms around the girls waist and spins her around and she giggles.
"And to think we were best friends. You're just gonna leave without a hug? What happened to us against the world?" Kelly says offended and Sam laughs and turns around to wrap her arms around the boys waist and lays her head on his chest, while he wraps his arms around her shoulders and kisses the top of her head. "Sorry Kells"
"You better be"
Sam lets go of her friend, and says, "I'll see you later, okay? We'll have dinner or something"
"Sounds good" Kelly smiles and Sam kisses her best friend on the cheek then goes back over to side table next to the door to grab her bag. "Love you Kells"
"Love you too Sammy" Kelly says before Sam shuts the door.

Jay climbs the stairs of his apartment building and makes his way to his door when he takes his keys out and when he goes to unlock the door it slightly opens. With his smile quickly turning into a frown, Jay knew something was off. Sam would never leave the door open, especially when it isn't even her own place.
Jay pulls his gun out of his holster and slowly moves the door open. It was dark inside, with the shades being closed but still light enough inside for him to make his way inside. He sees that his apartment is trashed, like it was just robbed but no sign of Sam, which confused him because Sam texted him saying she was doing laundry and asked if she wanted his done but he sees both of their laundry baskets still here and thrown everywhere. Which makes Jay get a sharp pain in his stomach, and he knew something was wrong.
Jay goes through the rest of the apartment, clearing it, just in case someone was still in there. There's one last room to check, his bathroom. The detective walks in with his gun pointed in front of him and turns the light on to see the mirror shattered and blood everywhere and his heart falls to his stomach.
Jay couldn't believe this was happening. Not when they just confessed that they liked each other last night, not when he was finally trying to be happy again. The way they smile at each other, the way that they connected so easily when they first met, Jay knew he wanted everything with Sam.
Jay walks back out into the living room and takes out his phone, dials a number and puts it to his ear, "Hey, we have a serious problem"

Hank Voight and his team are now in Jay's apartment, looking at everything over and over again, seeing if they missed any evidence that could show them who took their newest member.
"So, what happened?" Voight questions Halstead.
"I'm not really sure. Sam texted me saying she was going to do laundry, so I went out to get a coffee and to do some errands and when I came back and tried to get inside, the door was already opened, and I knew Sam would never do that, so I walked in saw that the laundry was still here then I cleared the apartment and then saw the bathroom mirror smashed and blood everywhere and then I called you"
"Everyone listen up, we keep this in house for now, just until we know what's going on...alright?" Hank says and everyone nods in agreement. "Alright, collect evidence, anything that looks remotely wrong to you, tell me"
"Hey you okay?" Ruzek asks Jay, walking over to him.
"Yeah, I just...I just hope she's okay"
"We all do, man" Adam says patting him on the back and walking away to look for evidence.

Sam's eyes slowly open, and she groans in pain trying to move her arms which were tied behind her in the chair she was sitting in and her legs were tied to the chair legs. She tried to yell out for help, but is stopped but the fabric that's tied around her mouth.
A sudden hit of light hits her face in the dark room that she's in and walks in is the most disgusting human being she's ever met in her life. Paul Hernandez.
Paul Hernandez, a drug lord, cold blooded murderer, sex ring trafficker and the man Sam almost put away but couldn't because he was always one step ahead of her.
Paul walks over to the brunette and caresses the girls face with his fingers, making Sam flinch and says, "Why so afraid? You loved me once remember?"
Samantha glares at the man, because that's the only thing she can do, do to the cloth tied around her mouth, which Paul takes off, "You may now speak"
Sam certainly didn't take demands from this hideous man, so she stayed silent.
Hernandez pistol whips her, and yells. "I said speak, NOW!"
Sam spits blood out from her mouth and says, "I could never love a man like you"
"But you have, and I loved you back"
The brunette scoffs, "It's called acting, asshole. So why am I tied up? Huh, why did I get my head smashed into a mirror? Why did you just friggin' pistol whip me?!"
"Because a little birdie told me that you're a cop"
Sam starts laughing at the man's accusation, she knows he's right, but he doesn't need to know that, "Right, I'm a cop...you must be out of your damn mind"
๐๐๐
Hank Voight and his team are back at the 21st, talking about their newest case, missing person, Samantha Miller.
"Do we have any leads?" Voight asks walking out of his office.
"The only thing we have is this symbol that was left on one of the walls in the bathroom" Lindsay says taping the photographed picture up on the whiteboard, "A circle with two lines going through the middle, in blood. It's a positive match for Sam's"
"You said a circle with two lines through the middle?" Hank questions and Lindsay nods.
"Why? that sound familiar?"
"Unfortunately"
๐๐๐
Paul Hernandez's men, hang Sam up by her wrists with chains that are connected to the ceiling, making the brunette's feet just barely touch the ground. Sam opens her eyes again, seeing the disgusting man in front of her with a knife.
Sam then feels a sudden pain on her stomach and she groans in pain.
"So" Paul says sitting down in a chair in front of a hanging Sam, "Let's talk about New York"
"What about it?"
"Why'd you leave?"
"I told you my dad was sick, I had to leave and take care of him"
Hernandez gets up and puts his hand on her face and squeezes it, "You're lying!"
"No, I'm not" Sam manages to get out and Hernandez lets go and runs his hands over his face with the bloody knife still in his hand, "How'd you even find me?"
"Trust me, little one. I have my resources" Hernandez smiles, which makes Sam cringe.
Hernandez puts the knife up to Sams throat and she glares at the man, "You're gonna start telling me the truth about what happened in New York or trust me you won't leave this room"
"Do it! You won't" Sam says, calling the man's bluff.
๐๐๐
Voight tapes up a picture onto the whiteboard he just printed out, of the circle with the two lines going through the middle, from other crime scenes.
"This gang sign is from a crew out in New York. Hundreds of crime scenes of kidnapped woman. They're called The Pensens" Hank tapes another picture onto the whiteboard, "And this is the head of the gang, Paul Hernandez. Drug lord, murderer and sex trafficker"
"So what the hell are they doing here?" Lindsay questions.
"Probably for Sam. When she was a detective over in New York, she was undercover for 2 years trying to bring him down and let's just say things happened"
Hearing all this, Jay gets up from his desk and walks away into the bathroom, more angry then he's been in a long time. He doesn't know what he'll do if he doesn't see Sam's smile again or hear her silly laugh. But he knows that's not a choice, they will find Sam, if it's the last thing he does.
"Boss we have nothing to go on. Where the hell are we supposed to start?" Adam questions, sitting on the edge of his desk.
"Roman and Burgess are out canvassing. We get all our CIs out there. Word is Hernandez grew up on the streets of Chicago. So we find out everything on this guy"
Just then Commissioner Miller walks up the steps onto the intelligence unit, as Lindsay flips the board over.
"Commissioner" Hank says putting his hands in his front pockets.
"Sergeant Voight, may we speak in your office"
"Sure" Hank agrees and leads himself and the commissioner into his office and shuts his door then goes over to his chair and sits.
"I wanted to know how my granddaughter is fitting into your unit?"
"She's been doing great"
"Is she here?"
"No. Commissioner there's something you need to know.."
