It was a rainy Thursday. You were back from practice and Iwaizumi was too. You both had decided to go to a convince store and pick up food for a picnic after your guy's practices had finished but Mother Nature said "No❤️" and changed your plans.

"As much as I like spending time with you Y/n, I'm so bored." Iwaizumi groaned into your blanket.

"Well what do you wanna do?" You asked.

"I don't know."

"Well then, that doesn't really help your case now does it Iwa."

"Ughhhh! I'm so bored! Is there anything on tv or Netflix that we haven't seen?"

"I don't know, there's probably a few animes. Hmm let's see there's Death Note, Demon Slayer..."

"No I've seen those."

"You have?"

"Mhm, Demon Slayer was a lot more bloody than I anticipated."

You ended up just putting on a YouTube video and chatting with it in the background.

"Ooo this one looks good!" You said clicking on another video that caught your attention. 

"Hey are you listening to me?" Iwaizumi said suddenly pulling you away from the screen.

"Uhh yeah, I was." You lied

"Liar."

Iwaizumi laid his head on your lap and pressed play on the video. "Pet me Y/n"

"Wha- what?!" This caught you off gaurd. "You want me to- pet you?"

"Yeah, you weren't paying attention to me." He pouted.

"Iwa I thought you went to Aobo Johsai, not Nekoma." You laughed.

He stared up at you unimpressed. "That was a terrible joke Y/n."

For the next few hours you sat there together, only leaving the room for a snack or the bathroom. Enjoying silence you both shared while whatever video played in the background. The rain kept pouring until it got dark when it was only a drizzle.

Tomorrow Kurasino was playing Aboa Johsai. It wasn't a serious game, like a practice game before the nationals in the spring.
(It's like late January- early February)

"Do you want to stay over tonight?" You asked him. "It's getting late, we could cook something and walk to kurasino tomorrow. It's not that far."

Iwaizumi sat up and stretched. "I guess I could. I mean sitting in the rain on a cold bench waiting for the bus isn't really how I'd like to spend my night before a game."

"So is that a yes?!" Your eyes lit up.

"I guess so!" He smiled bringing you into his chest for a hug. He smelled of citrus and that expensive ocean cologne every rich guy wore. Oh my god it was absolutely intoxicating.

"What do you wanna eat?" I asked him. We were in my kitchen now.

"Do you have ramen?"

"Uh yeah I think I do." You rummaged around in the pantry taking out two packs. "Are these alright?"

"Ooo you have the good stuff! It's always sold out when I try and find it."

"Really?" You said adding the water to the little cups. "It's almost always at the corner store when I go in."

Your sister came down the stairs. "So is this the Iwaizumi you've been talking about Y/n?"

"Yup that's me." Iwa mumbled.

"Cool cool. Y/n I'm heading out so i'll probably see you later tonight or tomorrow. Call me if there's an emergency."

"Where are you going?" You asked her looking up from the steaming noodles that you just took out of the microwave.

"To Ryan's. We're partners for a biology project." She said gathering her keys and wallet.

"Mhm suuuurrree.."

"Whatever, bye you two, don't burn the house down or mom is gonna get pissed!"

The door closed and the house was silent.

You both had finished your dinner and were now in bed. The rain was still hammering on the window.

"What do you think they'll say when we turn up together tomorrow?" Iwaizumi asked turning to face you.

"I don't know... we could get there earlier, only Yaichi and Kyoko will be there."

"Hmm I guess so. I could just say I wanted to get there early to practice."

He scanned your features, taking in every inch of your face.

"W-what?!" You nervously laughed.

"It's just that.... Your beautiful face was distracting me.."

"Iwa!" You playfully slapped him on the shoulder. "I'm going to bed, goodnight."

"Noo Y/n! Stay up with mee!" He whined.

"We have to get up at 8, we should go to bed."

"You're so mean. Fine. Go to bed then, I'm staying up."

You sat up and looked at him. "You're the one playing tomorrow you should be getting the sleep here."

He hesitated before replying to you. "Fine fine fine. I'll go to sleep..."

"Thank you-"

"If. You give me something." He said with a sly look on his face.

"Well what do you want?"

"A goodnight kiss." There was mischief in his eyes.

You waited for him to say anything else.

"You're joking right Iwa?"

"No. Why would I be joking?"

"Well too bad you're not any kiss tonight." You turned your back to him and promptly fell asleep, only to wake up hours later.

"Iwa? Why are you still up?" You yawned.

"I told you I'll go to sleep once I get my kiss." He said staring at his phone screen that illuminated his face in the dark.

"This cocky asshole." You thought to yourself.

You frowned. "I didn't think you were serious."

"Kiss please Y/n! C'mon I've been waiting for 2 hours." He sat up and faced you.

"Ugh why is he so cute! I hate him."

"Fine asshole here." You quickly pecked his cheek and sunk down into the bed again.

"Y/n! That wasn't a real kiss!"

"Well if you want one so bad kiss me yourself." You grumbled and turned over once again.

"Y/n..." He whispered.

"Y/n.. can you please sit up I- I wanna ask you something.."

"What is up with this dude?!"

You sat up and faced him. Annoyance plastered all over your face.

"What Iwaizumi?"

He hesitated for a minute before speaking.

"Are you going to say som-" He cut you off with only four words. Four simple words that made your heart flutter in your chest.

"Can I kiss you?"

"Can I kiss you?" Was all that ran through your mind.

"Can you.. kiss me?"

"Well yeah.. can I kiss you Y/n?"

Before you could process what you just said, the world "Yes." flew out of your mouth.

Iwaizumi briefly smiled before he cupped your cheek with one hand and his lips collided with yours. A tingle ran up your spine and your eyes fluttered close.

His other hand made its way to your waist while yours tangled in his dark brown hair.

It only lasted approximately 60 seconds but it left like hours. When you both finally pulled away, a tingly sensation still lasted on your lips.   You were both breathless.

"Now I can go to sleep." He chuckled breaking the silence. He wrapped his arms around you protectively and you could hear how fast his heart was beating. Thank god you weren't the only one.

"Goodnight Y/n." He whispered, kissing the crown of your head you both slipped into a restful sleep.

8am rolled around. Iwaizumi adorned his volleyball uniform, and you with your team jacket. That morning while getting ready and eating breakfast, you could barely look at him. Last night when he kissed you, is a memory you hope you never forget. Just wait until Yaichi hears about it.

"Are you ready to go?" You asked him.

"Mhm." He gathered his duffle bag, the little Godzilla keychain you had gotten him a few weeks back jingled from where it hung.

You locked the door and prepared for the 20 minutes walk you took to get to school.

It was a silent walk. Both of you barley spoke. You were sure he was replaying the moment you shared in his head in repeat. You were too.

When you arrived at the gym, you were right. Only Yaichi and Kyoko were there. They were setting up the point counter and bringing in the balls from the closet.

"Y/n!!" Yaichi shouted from across the room. She ran over to you and Iwaizumi.

"Is this Iwaizumi?" She whispered into your ear.

"Yes, we'll talk about it later. I have so much to tell you!"

She giggled. "Come help me with the net!"

In the next half hour or so the rest of Kurasino showed up, as well as Aboa Johsai. Each team did their warm ups. Taking laps around the gym, practicing receiving and diving. The typical volleyball stuff.

The match was very chaotic to say the least. Hinata and Nishinoya were yelling like they always did, and Kageyama kept staring at Oikawa.

"Weird." You thought.

Throughout the game you kept catching Iwaizumi staring at you when he wasn't needed at the moment. You never really returned his gaze in fear of making him mess up.

Both of the teams were super pumped and played 4 full games in total. Of course with water breaks and resting in between. It was 5:00pm when both sides finally ran out of energy.

"Why don't we all go out to eat?" Daichi suggested to Oikawa. 

"Where too?" He replied

"There's a place not far from here, only a 10 minute walk at most. We go to eat there all the time!"

"Sounds good to me!"

Oikawa rounded his boys up and both teams set off down the hill to the small restaurant you always ate at after winning a game.

Iwaizumi kept his distance from you, you were glad. Imagine if someone found out that you and and a rival team member were hanging out after school and on the weekends, let alone kissed.
Tanaka might shed a tear if he ever heard that.

The walk was filled with laughter and Hinata fanboying over Oikawa's incredible serves.

"Here we are!" Daichi stood infront of the restaurant

You all entered to the restaurant and got a long table for all of you. The owners were nice to let you in without a reservation. You took a seat and to your surprise Iwaizumi took a seat across from you.  You shot him a glare and he snickered at you.

That night you ate good. All the meat and other dishes were so good. You never got tired of their cooking.

After dinner you were stuffed. Aboa Johsai was to catch a bus back at Kurasino so you were all saying your goodbyes. There were handshakes and high fives around. Oikawa even came up to you and Kyoko and thanked you for your help distributing water and towels.

But before they all left, Iwaizumi approached you.

"Really?! Now?!"

"Thanks for the game Y/n" he thanked you.

"It's no problem Iwaizumi." You replied politely.

"See you around cutie." And he winked at you giving you a quick side hug.

"What is up with this dude?" You weren't going to admit to yourself that you blushed at his comment.

The other team walked back up the hill and yours all went their separate ways.

"See you around cutie!" Yaichi mocked jabbing you in the ribs and laughing at Iwa's comment.

"Shut up Yaichi.." You mumbled, face on fire.

An: Bro this chapter was so overdue. I blame school tho, it's only been 3 weeks and I'm so tired. We don't even have alot of homework tho.  It also didn't help that wattpad was blocked at my school >:( But since you've waited a month I've decided this was be a long chapter. On a side note I wrote the last few paragraphs at my school's first home football game 😎
