I have an announcement.

I am rewriting Shield entirely BUT I'm not going to stop writing for this book because that feels like a dick move. I do want to finish this book at least. I'm rewriting Shield in a separate book and I also changed a few of the plots. I will post it once it is complete. The reason I'm rewriting the book is that for one this book is all the place like some the plot has been lost. Also, the grammar sucks. This was the first book that I ever wrote so I came in clueless, i think I've gotten slightly better at writing. I've also been stressed because of school as well as studying for my upcoming SAT in a month. But yeah, I'm announcing that there will be a shield rewrite coming in the future (that will be a separate book though) and I am still continuing this one ill try to finish it sooner.

I have a love-hate relationship with this book. There are times when I cringe whenever I read it, but still, this is my baby, my first book. So further do-

I wanted to add this for future reference. I haven't updated in a while, for various reasons, of course. One is because I've honestly lost motivation to continue writing this book. That doesn't mean I'm going to discontinue it, because I'm not. I want to finish this book. Shield is the first book I've ever written, so of course it's pretty sloppy and kind of all over the place. Originally, Shield was supposed to be Regulus Black x Marc Spector, but it was more Regulus Black-centric. Going into this, I had no idea what the plot was. Regulus was supposed to be a spy agent at Shield like Clint, hence the name "Shield". The Black Widow arc came to me randomly after I decided to make Regulus and Nat the ship. It did feel a little weird writing a male character into the Black Widow arc, but I just love Black Widow and Regulus Black, so I decided to combine one of my two favorite things, which resulted in Black Widow Regulus. Originally, Regulus and Natasha were going to have a platonic relationship, but as I kept writing, I started to like Nat and Reg together, so I kept them as the main couple. Another thing is Percy (or Jasper in the early making of Sheild) as a character. I made Regulus have a child just because there was no actual reason for it. I just liked the thought of Regulus becoming a better parent than Walburga and Orion and giving his child the childhood he didn't have. If I had originally gone into this fic with Natasha and Regulus as the ship, I would have made Natasha the biomother instead of some random woman. Another thing I wanted to change once I wrote the new book was to make Natasha the biological mother of Percy.

Also, because I had no timeline or plot when I started this fic, I made up a new one so if you are confused (because I am whenever I continue writing), here is a guideline. It might not fit so well with this book because of some of the writing, but this is what I'm mostly going off of.

Natasha is a year older than Regulus she is the same age as Sirius who in the book is 16 while Regulus is barley just turn 15.

1997
Regulus is 12 and Natasha is 13. They first meet and become friends secretly.

1999
Regulus (14) is now more involved in the death eater stuff. His parents are now including him in their death eater talks. They want him to join once he turns 16. Regulus overhears about the dark lord needing an elf and finds out about horcruxes. From there on, he makes plans to get rid of the horcrux.

2000

Regulus (15) goes to the cave and gets rid of the locket, giving it to Kreacher, leaving a fake one with a note. Regulus never gets the dark mark because he was supposed to get it once he turned 16. The Red Room captures Regulus from drowning, leaving him with scars running down his body from the inferis. Regulus does die in the cave but is revived using a special liquid in the red room.

2001
The red room wanted to experiment more with male black widows, so they used Regulus and another unknown widow to make a new asset. Natasha finds out and tells Regulus. Where Regulus makes sure to keep Percy safe with his magic.
Regulus has Percy at 16.

2002-2004
Regulus (17–19) gets sent to Hrydra and gets trained by the Winter Soldier.
Between this period of years, Regulus and Bucky get into a relationship of some sort.

2006
Regulus (21) and Natasha (22) escape the Red Room and join shield. They also take Percy (5) with them.
