FOR a place you hated so much, it sure took up a lot of your memories.
Everyone else loved Freddy's. Why wouldn't they? It had everything entertaining to offer, at the time. Pizza, games, and animatronics. Try guessing which one you weren't fond of.
Glimpses of the old pizzeria haunted the back of your mind. Sometimes, even your dreams took you there.
You felt like being a specter revisiting the past. Though, no matter how many times you tried to leave through any means, it never worked. Whether attempting to wake up, or if you tried to change things, it always ended the same.
Joy. Confusion. Realization. Fear.
And then came the screams, coming from your mother who called out for your youngest sibling. There was an uproar of confusion as both the guests and workers' eyes searched through the rows of seats and arcade games to find them.
You were overwhelmed with the calls of your sibling's name, music echoing through the room, with the beeping of machines. Suddenly the pizza in front of you wasn't so appetizing anymore.
At one point, while all the adults were busy looking elsewhere, Your eyes wandered to a dimly lit corridor. Through the dark you could just barely see a silhouette.
One much too tall and large to be human, with long, pointed ears, and a gold color you hadn't recalled seeing at that place before.
It lifted a hand, a finger beckoning for you to follow. You knew better. You turned around, running to find the safety of your parent.
That's when the room began to grow darker, until it seemed like it was midnight. As dreams usually are, It felt like you were running in place. Then, it finally dawned on you that nobody else was left around you, everyone seeming to have vanished into thin air. Tears poured down your face in a line.
Crying blared through the empty night, but it wasn't coming from you. By now, you had given up on finding help. Your feet tried to take you to the hallway, where you felt something calling you to from just beyond a door. You just felt it.
It was like running underwater, like time was slowing you down on purpose to keep you from seeing whatever it was on the other side. The crying became louder, and it mixed in with your mother's screams and the sound of police sirens. Your vision blurred from how much tears your eyes were shedding against their will, and your ears hurt from the noise. Yet still, you persisted in your purpose.
You were so close, Closer each and every time. You were in the hallway now, and it was in front of you. The door was right in front of you, with a sign reading 'storage' labeled on it. Only a few more steps, and-

You woke up. In the middle of the night, finding yourself in your bed rather than that place. Dazed, sweaty and just so tired after how long it's since been. Years since it all happened.
You wished it could've all been a nightmare, but you were afraid it was all too real.
You never saw the face of your youngest sibling since that day.
Reaching for the alarm, through a blurry vision you saw the time.
6:00 am
Time for work.
