Chapter 16 - God Forgive Me for I have Sinned

I really thought I could save her. All of this happened to me because I fell in love.

"Is there anything we can do to stop her" Tamia asked.

"Nope" I said losing all hope.

"Well there has to be some type of way. Did your dad do something that might help us" Stokeley said.

We all looked at Amala.

"Before he disappeared, he recited something. It was in a different language though" She answered.

"It's an old spell to protect people from evil" I said out loud.

"We can just recite it and we'll be fine" Tamia said.

"Yeah but it's never that easy" I said.

"What time is it" Amala asked.

Stokeley pulled out his phone. He stared at it for a minute before answering.

"It's one in the morning" He said lowly.

"Is it safe for me to sleep" Amala asked.

"Yeah I'll wake you up if anything happens" I said.

I watched as she left to my room and closed the door behind her.

"Tamia and I gonna get some rest" Stoke said.

As they left I was now the only one in the living room.

Stokeley

"I don't want you to die Stokeley" Tamia said while laying down on the bed.

"Well it would be better if I died instead of you. Get some rest today will be crazy" I said.

She closed her eyes and within a few seconds she began snoring. I kissed her forehead and laid down.

Amala

A few hours later

I woke up to see Jahseh standing over me.

"What the fuck" I said a little startled.

"Get up" He said.

He moved out the way so I could get out the bed.

"Do you need something" I asked.

He stared at me instead of answering me.

I've never actually looked at him. He seemed like he was in a lot of pain.

Maybe I'm the reason all of this happened.

Jah could've lived his life but he's here with me.

"Do you love me" I asked him.

I guess he was caught off guard and stumbled back. He looked down at the ground then looked back at me.

"Yes" He said.

I saw a tear run down his cheek before he wiped it away.

"Well I love you too" I said.

Jahseh walked up to me and gave me a hug.

"If I die please don't forget me" He said.

"Don't say shit like that" I said letting a few tears slip.

"I don't have much time. I want to be with you, but I can't"

"So, you're just gonna give up" I asked.

"I'm tired of running Amala. If I just die, then you'll be safe" Jah said.

I began shaking my head.

"I'll fucking kill myself if you die" I said hugging him even tighter.

His shirt began getting wet due to my crying.

"Can you get me another shirt" He asked.

I got up while wiping my tears. I went over to the dresser and grabbed him a white tank top.

I watched as he took his shirt off and toss it on the floor.

Yeah, imma miss this shit.

"I know it's the worse time to ask but like can we um" I said trying to find the right wording.

"Fuck?" He completed my sentence.

We made eye contact but of course I had to break it.

"Come here baby" He said patting his lap.

I went over to him and sat on his lap while facing him.

"We gotta be quick" He said pecking me on the lips.

"Ok" I said into the kiss.

We were making out until Jah quickly got up. I fell onto the floor then slowly got up.

"What the fuck" I said.

"She's here" Jah whispered.

"We gotta tell Stokeley and Tamia" I said.

"I'm pretty sure he knows. I need you to hide in the closet and don't come out no matter what" He said while pushing me towards the closet door.

"I don't want to leave you" I said.

"I'll be fine baby" Jahseh said.

Tamia and Stokeley came in the room.

"Hide with Amala" Stoke said.

We both got in the closet while the two boys left.

"It's day light you gotta be stupid to try and kill in the daytime" Tamia said.

I thought about it for a minute.

"If you think about it evil shit happens in the dark" I told Tamia.

"What are you saying" She asked.

"What makes you think we're even in the house. We could be anywhere" I said.

I slowly opened the closet door. I walked out and we were no longer in Jahseh's room. I looked around and it seemed like we were in the woods.

"It's dark as fuck" Tamia whispered.

The wind made the trees sway, and the moon was the only source of light. Then there were footsteps.

"You hear that" I asked Tamia.

There was no answer.

I looked behind me to see she was gone.

"Tamia" I called.

"Amala run" I heard a raspy voice say.

I didn't care who said it all I did was run. I kept running till I ran out of breath. I looked around and I was still in the woods. It was like I was running in circles. I fell to my knees and cried.

"Just forget that this ever happened. Amala forget that Jahseh even existed" A voice said.

"I promise that you'll wake up from this nightmare if you just forget" A woman said coming into view.

It was Irene.

"Where is he" I asked through tears.

"Does it matter he'll be dead soon" she said.

"Where is he" I repeated myself.

Irene pointed to something from behind me. I looked behind me to see Jah's body on the ground. I ran up to him to see blood covering him.

"How could you" I yelled.

"I want you to feel the same pain I did" she said.

"I don't deserve this, and you know it" I said.

"I don't deserve it either"

"Amala" I heard a faint voice say.

I looked back down at Jah.

"I told you to stay in the closet" he said while coughing up black liquid.

"I'm sorry" I said.

"I need you to use the curse that your dad used"

"Don't say it Amala, it will only lead you to your misery" Irene said.

"What does she mean" I asked.

"Listen to what I'm saying. Just repeat it and this will all be over" Jah shouted.

"Sa ki mal" I was able to say before I felt myself being pushed by a gust of wind.

I swear for a minute I couldn't breathe.

"Just close your eyes. The pain will be over before you know it" She said.

A blurry figure stood over Irene as she looked down at me with a smile.

All I remember was her falling down and those same words my father spoked.

"Evil shall never harm me for I am the light in the dark. I am protected and I will send you back to the dark abyss where you come from"
