yugyeom as boyfriend
............................................................................................................................................................
Your small gloved hand shake nervously as you try keep it from shivering. It wasn't even because of the cold, although it was 4 degrees below zero outside. Biting your, dry lips, you ran a hand through your long (H/C) again, tugging on it, producing that stinging but semi-pleasant feeling which you often did when you were nervous.
Peeking at you from the side, your tall, lanky boyfriend, Kim Yugyeom, notices your heavy sighs, and reluctant footfalls. Taking your hand, he plasters a grin to his face although inside he secretly was as nervous as you were.
'Hey,' he says softly, looking down at you, who still had that faraway, day dream look in your eyes. Rubbing your hands to keep them warm and to stop them from shaking, he pressed a quick kiss on the side of your head. 'It's going to be fine, I promise, they'll love you trust me,' he said reassuringly.
'I don't know Yugs,' you sighed. 'What if they don't approve? What if they forbid me from seeing you? What if they won't accept me?' you blurted out a fraction of the questions you had in mind. Your mind was a tornado. Chaos was everywhere. You couldn't think straight, worries and anxieties clouding your usually calm judgement.
'Ahhh, don't think about that,' he said, ruffling your hair playfully. 'They'll have to accept you whether they like it or not, you're mine and they can't do anything to change that,' he shrugged as if was the most simple thing in the world.
'B-But, what about your manager and and,' you stuttered, thinking of all the horrible possibilities that could happen.
'No no, nope,' he said, in his cheerful voice, putting a long finger to your lips, cutting off your flood of words.
'Come on they're in already,' he grinned, pulling you faster to the dreaded building, noticing that the topmost floor was lit, standing out in the night sky like a beacon.
Sighing, you went at a slight jog to keep up with his long legs. Swiping his card at the entrance, both of you went into the cold silent building, the only sound was of your footsteps echoing in the hall.
Expertly maneuvering his way around the building it seems like the blink of an eye before you reach the practise room. Sounds of laughter and deep baritone voices came from the room as your heart kicked up a notch going from 100 to a million miles an hour. You were surprised you managed to stand upright, your legs were shaking so hard.
'Yugs,' you breathed before he could open the door. Pulling him to the side, you had to hope that this wasn't the worst decision of your life. 'I-I really don't know if I can do this,' you muttered, and you were sure he could see the panic in your eyes.
'Shhh shhh, babe,' he whispers, hugging you to his chest and stroking your back You could feel yourself shaking uncontrollably, it was as if an earthquake had taken over your body. 'I'll be here okay? I'll always be here and whatever they say well...' he hesitated for a while and said something that an idol was DEFINITELY not supposed to say in public.
Slapping his arm, you scolded him softly, but at the same time you felt slightly more confident as he opens the sliding glass door, revealing his members who were resting, most of the sprawled on either the couch or the floor, joking and laughing. The first member you saw were Jackson and Bam Bam who as expected were having a water bottle flipping competition, while the other members were sitting lazily on the couch, their limbs a entangled mess, shouting out bets and dares as the competition intensified.
'Hey! Weren't we invited to the bottle flipping competition?' Yugyeom cried out, placing a lot of emphasis on the word 'WE' pulling you to his side, and rushing to join the fray.
At first their eyes glossed over you, due to your petite size and also thinking you were some sort of new staff, but their eyes grew suspicious as they saw Yugyeom's hand intertwined with yours.
'Yugyeom' JB called out from the corner of the room. 'Who's that?' he asked, motioning towards you, causing you to blush furiously and look down at your shoes.
Smirking, he pretended not to hear his leader and instead joined the JackBam-water bottle-flipping-competition. 'Well, whoever she is, she's pretty,' Bam Bam teased, winking at you before turning his attention back to the competition, a serious look replacing his normally laid-back mischievous expression.
Glaring at him, Yugyeom's arm circled protectively around your waist as you gave him an alarmed expression. 'Come on jagi, sit down,' he invited, patting a spot beside him and Jackson, purposely emphasizing the word 'jagi' for the other members to hear.
Hesitant, you ignored the bulging stares of the other members, and sat next to Yugyeom, burying your face in the crook of his neck, obviously incredibly embarrassed, but at the same time you didn't want to see the reactions of the other members.
There was a dip in the noise as they let the news sink in, before an explosion of noise broke the silence. The voices didn't seem overly outraged or angry so you sneaked a peek through your long curtain of glossy hair.
JB had a look that could only be described as shock. Bam Bam was staring at you avidly as if you weren't real. Jackson was staring open-mouthed while Jinyoung, Mark and Youngjae all looked like deer that had been caught in headlights.
'J-Jagi?' Bam Bam muttered as if it was a forbidden word.
'Yes,' your boyfriend's voice turned serious and stern. 'She's my jagi and we've been going out for about 6 months, and I love her more than my own life,' he whispered but in the silent room, it was more like a shout.
Continuing in a slightly lighter tone. 'And Bam hyung, if you call her pretty again, we're going to have something to talk about,' he grinned as you elbowed him in the side. Honestly, was this really time to joke about things?
But that small comment seemed to break the ice. A snort broke out from Bam Bam causing the rest of the members to laugh softly.
'Gyeoms,' Jackson called out, in light tone. 'Do you love her more than Chris Brown?' he joked, making you laugh a little and giving you the confidence to show your face.
'Hmmm,' he muttered for a while. 'I'll have to think about that hyung,' he said in a fake serious tone.
Punching him lightly, you gave him an indignant look. 'You better take that back or...' you trailed off.
Bursts of laughter broke out across the room. 'I like her already!' Bam crowed, earning shouts of approval by the other members.
'You haven't even done a proper introduction Yugyeom,' Jinyoung scolded. 'I taught you better than this,' he said really sounding like a mother.
'Sorry hyung,' he grinned sheepishly. 'Come on jagi,' you said encouraging you to introduce yourself.
'Hi I'm (Y/N),' you said formally and awkwardly not wondering how to address them.
'Aish there's no need to be so formal,' Jackson reassured me. 'You're dating our maknae after all,' he said.
'Yeah,' JB, who at first was silent and cold agreed, even joining the circle. 'Yugyeom-ah,' he said swatting his head lightly. 'You should have introduced her earlier, where have you been keeping her all this time?' he joked, allowing a small grin to form on your face.
Soon enough you were joking and chatting along comfortably with the members actually managing to feel at home with one of the most internationally recognized boy groups.
They asked you a million and one questions. Your age, your university, when both of you started dating, how you guys got together and more that made your head spin. Soon enough they were almost like family to you. Well, a family of 7 incredibly boisterous, compulsively dabbing, meme-making boys that was. You came expecting to defend your relationship with the man you loved but instead you left with a new family.
