you woke up from the smell of bacon and eggs. you checked your alarm clock, wondering why you smelled food on a random tuesday morning. the clock read 9:00am.
you quirked a brow. why would someone be cooking if katsuki should've left by now?
you grabbed the bat that you kept propped behind your bedroom door just in case an intruder had broken in. you never know, a stranger could've walked in and cooked breakfast for you.
you held the bat up and tiptoed through the hallway, peeping around the corner.
you saw the familiar spiky, ash blonde hair, which belonged to your husband. you propped the bat against the hallway wall.
"katsuki? what are you still doing here?"
katsuki seemed almost frightened when he heard your voice.
"shit. it was supposed to be a surprise," he rubbed his hand on the nape of his neck.
you giggled and ran up to hug him, jumping in his arms. he held onto you tightly.
"god, i miss waking up to your bed head every morning. you need to start leaving at noon," you teased as you two pulled away too look into each other's eyes.
"i know, i know. trust me, if i could take later shifts, i would. being the number two hero isn't fit for that though." he frowned.
"speaking of being the number two hero, how'd you even get a day off?" you questioned.
"well, i worked a little extra last night. when i came home, you were passed out on the couch, that's how late it was." he chuckled.
he finished preparing breakfast and placed a plate in front of you. he kissed the top of your head before sitting down. you both dug in, talking about some things you had forgot to tell each other due to katsuki working early mornings and late nights. once you two were done, you washed the dishes together, laughing as you put bubbles on each other's faces.
by the time you finished, your hair, your shirt, his tank top, and your faces were wet leading to more giggles and chuckles. he grabbed your face and kissed you before you both pulled away in disgust from the taste of soap. you quickly made a glass of water, desperately trying to rid the soap taste from your mouth. he laughed along with you after you chugged the whole glass.
you then took a shower together never wanting the presence of the other to leave your side. he washed your back and hair, as you did the same for him.
katsuki had left you to do your hair routine after you got out. it was now around 1pm. you walked out of the bathroom door and into the living room just to be met by a sad-faced katsuki.
"hey kat, what's wrong?" you walked over to him.
"i tried to get reservations at your favorite restaurant, but, of course, they were booked all day because it's valentine's day."
you smiled at the gesture, "you know, i don't need a super special dinner because it's valentine's day. you being home with me today is and will always be enough."
he grinned as he pulled you in his arms.
"god, i love you so much y/n. i don't know what i'd do without you. seriously, you're like my life's blood."
you kissed him sweetly, grinning into the kiss. he did the same thing.
valentine's day, before you had katsuki, seemed like it was a waste. you hated seeing the lovey dovey couples around you. maybe you were lonely, maybe you just hated the holiday. all you knew was that now, valentine's day had meaning to it. after he saved you that one random thursday afternoon, and he still felt the need to contact you, you knew that he was the one.
when you and katsuki got married, everything felt surreal. it was overwhelming, but in a good way. the things he made you feel were overwhelming in a good way. he made you feel like you were the only girl on earth. he made you feel alive. you made him feel alive. you loved him with every fiber in your body, and he felt the same. you always reminded him of this, never letting it go unnoticed.
he was so gentle with you that it surprised you at first. he always had an aggressive attitude, but when it came to you, he seemed so tender. he had always been so careful with you, even now, treating you like you were the most fragile thing to ever exist. you loved that you could bring out this soft side to him.
you pulled away from him staring into his eyes for awhile. he looked at you with eyes full of love for you.
eventually, you both came up with the idea of watching a movie and cuddling.
"just like the old days," you said.
you spent the rest of the day binge-watching shows and movies while basking in each other's touch.
you both had missed each other and the events from today showed it.
