you groaned as you heard the ding of your alarm. quickly turning it off, you tried to get comfortable again. you were never a morning person, but one thought made your eyes shoot open.

'holy shit. it's katsuki's birthday,' you thought, immediately getting up to get ready. you were beyond excited; this was the first birthday he would be spending with you.

once ready, you texted katsuki 'good morning, my love<3', not wanting to give away the plan.

the plan was to not mention the fact it was his birthday at all during the day, and make him believe everyone forgot. at around the end of the day, mina and kirishima would act like mina needed to go to recovery girl. aizawa sensei, who is a part of the plan, would allow them to be excused. but, of course, instead of going to recovery girl, they were going to decorate the commons area for katsuki's birthday.

it was cliche, you knew it, but this was all your idea, and you thought it was perfect.

you were alone in your thoughts, when you heard a familiar knocking pattern at the door. you immediately knew it was katsuki. you two came up with the knock so you knew it was him specifically. it came in handy when it was late at night and he wanted cuddles.

you opened the door, trying to mask the excitement. however, you failed drastically.

"why do you look so...ecstatic?" your boyfriend spoke.

"oh it's nothing! just happy I got up earlier than usual!" you falsely exclaimed.

'damn, that was the shitty excuse' you deprecated yourself in your thoughts.

"tch. dumbass." was all katsuki said before looking away, not wanting you to see the pink hue that formed on his cheeks from seeing your smile. you didn't miss it though, and chuckled at him.

he blushed even more.

he always loved when you were happy and tried to cheer you up when you weren't.

after class, as you and katsuki started the walk towards the dorms, it was silent. you didn't want to hint towards the surprise at all, as you tend to do that. this made katsuki question you mentally, but he never spoke a word. he only gave you side glances.

once near the dorms, you ran all the way to the door, leaving katsuki behind. he walked along confused, wondering why you were avoiding him. you got in your place as the door opened.

"SURPRISE!!" everyone yelled.

katsuki looked at you immediately with a small smile.

he knew this was your doing. it was just like you to set something like this up.

you gave him a bright smile back, as the pink hue from earlier showed on his cheeks again. he always loved your smile.

after the celebration was over, katsuki invited you outside. confused, you followed.

when the doors were closed, he grabbed your waist and spun you around. a smile crept onto your face and his.

Once he placed you down, he pulled you into a soft, passionate kiss.

pda wasn't something katsuki was fond of, but it wasn't like he wasn't affectionate at all around other people. he would hold your hand whenever he could, and would give you forehead kisses as well.

you pulled away as you stared into his beautiful, vermillion eye.

"thank you..." he muttered, leaning his forehead against yours.

"happy birthday my love." you smiled and kissed him once more.
