2:50pm
where is he, where is he.
Lily pacing back and forth in the living room alone as she waits for her boyfriend to arrive at her home. He couldn't have gotten lost right? He knew where she lives now. He wouldn't bail out last minute right? RIGHT?
*ding dong!
Renjun!
She quickly ran over to the front door before any of the maids could get there first. Opening the door eagerly as she was met with him. Her eyes widening as her jaws fell to the ground in utter disbelief.
"Your hair! What did you do to your hair?!" She exclaims in terror when seeing how his two toned hair had dissapear. Now it was replaced with just natural black hair. He also changed his looks. All the piercings that he usually wore were all removed, even his lip piercing was gone. He looked like a completely different person right now. Was this really her boyfriend???!?!
"I dyed it black duh, are you blind? Look we're matching now!" He answers before grinning at her. Oh Lily was not grinning at all like he was.
"Why?? And why are you dressing like me, like you live in a cottage, and where did all your piercings go?!" She questions him before pulling him inside her home.
"One question at a time dear." He said as he took his shoes off.
"First of all, I dyed my hair because it was getting really unhealthy. I know you really liked it a lot but I'm not risking myself to start developing hair loss. Second of all, I removed all my piercings because what if your father thinks that I'm some weirdo gangster or something. And thirdly, I changed the way I dress because yet again, I'm trying to impress your dad. Li I can't just come over dressed in a pair of leather jacket and ripped jeans. I want to have a good first impression Ok." He explains, talking as if it wasn't obvious that he was trying to impress her father.
"Renjun trust me, my father wouldn't care how you dressed. My mother didn't care how you looked, so why would my dad judge?" She said and assisted him through the hallways.
"I don't know, I freaked out ok when you told me that he wanted to meet me. Its my first time meeting him and I wanted to show him that I'm a suitable boyfriend for you." He rambles.
Lily smiling softly as she held onto his hands. Giving it a tight squeeze as she tries to reassure him.
"Don't freak out please. He's going to love you, I promise."
---
"Lily you should show Renjun your room." Her father suggested once they were done with dinner. She looks up at her father with her brows raised.
"That sounds a bit weird." Lily replies as Renjun looks at her flustered before lightly pushing her shoulders.
"I mean that you should show him some of your old paintings. Who knows maybe he wants to see them." Her father shook his head in disbelief. The idea of seeing Lily's old paintings made Renjun's ears tingle as he looks at her in excitement.
"He's going to tease me about my painting for the rest of my life if I showed him my room." She complains. And when she meant 'teased', she meant that he's going to complain to her on why she keeps saying that art sucks and why her mother's work sucks when she could clearly replicate HER WORK effortlessly.
A sigh left her lips before she stood up.
"Come on, follow me." She said in defeat as he smiled brightly before following her to her room.
--- β‘
"My goodness your room is humongous." He gasps as he examines the place carefully.
"And here you kept telling me that you don't understand the purpose of art and the meanings behind each individuals work. Wow Lily, these paintings are beautiful." He stated. Looking at each and every one of her paintings as he takes in the beauty that she had created. She was good at drawing flowers, probably inherited it from her mother. And she was as well amazing at drawing portraits and sceneries. Gosh this girl was good at everything, how is that even possible?
"I made them but there was no meaning behind any of it. I just drew them all randomly because I was depressed." She wails, letting out a snicker at the end.
"But... what if there was a meaning behind all these paintings. They were just explained separately!" He suggested as she looks at him confused.
"Huh?"
"Can I have a look at your notebook that you use to write down your stories." He asked. Ok now she was even more weirded out.
"Pardon?"
"Your notebook Lily." He repeated.
The girl going over to her desk as she picks up her writers notebook filled with all her stories before handing it over to Renjun.
"Here. Why do you want to see it all of a sudden. Don't tell me that you're suddenly thinking of becoming a bookworm like me!" She gasps dramatically as he rolls his eyes at her.
"Being a nerd is the last thing that I want to be."
She scoffs. "How rude."
"Here. Each stories that you've written, they match a painting. You're creating a meaning behind these paintings through your writing." He pointed out as she snatches the notebook out of his hands before flipping through every page. Reading the titles and looking at each painting.
"Ok this is getting a bit scary... I never intended to do that what the fuck." She swore before putting her notebook away and then sitting down on her bed. He follows her after that.
"Your welcome I guess for making you realise." He said as she gently punches his shoulders.
"So, how was today? Still scared of my dad?" She changes the subject before laying down on the bed. Renjun copying her move. The two of them now staring at the ceiling.
"No, not really. Well, not anymore. He's really nice and chill. I guess you were right, I kind off overreacted too much huh?" He replies as she chuckles at him.
"You didn't even need to have that whole makeover. Even my mom couldn't recognise you when she saw your appearance." She said as he covers his face in embarrassment.
"Your mother really thought that you were dating someone else, oh my god. Do I really look that different?"
"Yes you do. How many times do I need to tell you that."
