School hallway near lockers. The sound of bustling students surrounds them. Y/N himself, is leaning against his locker while Moon sorts through her books in her locker and Moon looks at her boyfriend to see he's zoned out

"Your spaced out again babe" Moon says snapping Y/N back to reality

"Oh shit sorry babe it's just I still can't believe the world Sekai Taikai is just weeks away. It’s like... I should be excited, but I just feel this weird knot in my stomach" He says and Moon looks at him

"What do you mean? You’ve been training hard! You’re ready for this! Y/N I don't want you to put doubt in yourself" Moon says in a soft tone

"I know it's just competing against all those fighters from around the world what Sam said was technically true it's one thing to be the best in town but it's another thing to be the best in the world" Y/N says and and Moon closes her locker and looked at her boyfriend with a stern look

"Y/N listen, you’ve worked so hard! You’ve been training non-stop since we met so You can’t let those thoughts creep in!" Moon tells him placing her hand on his cheek

"I know, but these guys have been doing this for years, some of them with golden trophies already" Y/N says but Moon kept her stern voice

"Listen, it’s not about being the best. It’s about competing and giving your all. Plus, you know you have your own style that nobody else can replicate!" Moon tells him kissing him and he smiled

"You know, every champion started somewhere. Even the best of the best had to face their fears. And remember, you’re already a champion in my eyes" Moon says pulling him into a hug

"You’re biased, though. You’re my girlfriend." Y/N joked making Moon roll her eyes

"True, but I also see how hard you work. Just think about why you started karate in the first place. This is your passion!" Moon tells him

"I wish you could go with me" Y/N says

"Yeah me too but who knows Maybe I'll work something out and I'll find a way to Barcelona" Moon says smiling and Y/N smiled back

"That would be nice but I'm gonna go there and do the best I can"

"That's all you can do babe and I'll be there to support you weather that means being here or Barcelona" Moon says as the two shared a loving kiss

"Reddy to get to class?" She Asked

"Ugh I guess can we at least make out later" he asked playfully and Moon playfully slapped his chest

"We'll see now let's get going" she says taking his hand as the two walked to class

After school Apartments

Y/N dropped Moon off at home and drove himself home after school

The front door swings open as Y/N and  walks in, tossing his backpack onto the floor. He looks around the empty house, and let's out a sad sigh missing Tessa greeting him when he got out of school

Maybe some video games will clear my head" he says

he makes his way to the living room, he freezes midway, hearing a faint sound from the kitchen. He hesitantly inches closer, peering around the corner. To his shock, he sees his mother of all people

"MOM?" Y/N yells in shock making his mother jump at his sudden loud tone

"Y/N you scared me half to-" before she could finish her sentence Y/N ran at her and hugged her tightly

"I missed you so much mom" Y/N says on the verge of crying and Sarah didn't even hesitate to hug her sun back trying not to cry herself

"I miss you too Honey"

Sometime Later

Both mother and son where sitting in the living room

"So much has happened since the last time I saw you" Y/N tells his mother who nods

"Yeah I know your dad and...... Tessa kept in contact with me and look at you the all valley karate champion" Sarah says proudly making Y/N smile

"It's all because I've had people in my life that support me"

"How are you and Moon doing?" She asked

"We....went thought a rough patch but we talked it out and now where better then ever" Y/N answered

"That's Great to hear and good news I'm gonna be down here permanently" Sarah says

"What about your job back home"

"I.....was fired for leaving"

"What?"

"My boss gave me an option either loose my job or go be with my family and well you see which choice I choose"

"I'm..... I'm sorry mom"

"Don't be my family is more important then some dumb low income job"

"Yeah I guess but what about-"

"Hey let's not focus on me and my problems I'm here to be here for you and  for Tess okay?"  Sarah says

"Yeah okay" he responded

"Good are you hungry" she asked her son

"Yeah a little" he answered

"Good cause I made your favorite so let's eat" she says as she and he walked into the kitchen to eat lunch.

After lunch Y/N and Sarah spent the rest of the day catching up until he got a text message from Robby asking to meet up at his place

"Uh hey mom I gotta go out for a little bit is that okay?" He asked his mother

"Yeah but don't be out to late okay?"

"Yes ma'am"

Apartment complex

Y/N pulled up to the apartment complex he walked to where Miguel and Robby lived and he saw Robby was outside training

"Hey man working up a sweat" Y/N joked and Robby chuckled pushing his hair back

"Yeah gotta get that work out in" Robby joked back making Y/N chuckle

"Yeah but what's up?" He asked and he could tell by the look on Robby's face he was gonna have a hard time saying what he wanted to say

"Look Y/N I just wanted to say that whatever happens to tomorrow that I don't any need it anything" Robby says

"Hey Robby don't worry about this isn't like before at the all valley where friends and I wouldn't chance that for anything" Y/N says

"Thanks Y/N that really means a lot....but you haven't been able to reach Tory at all today?" Robby asked

"No I tried calling her earlier today after school too but nothing"

"Yeah same we where suppose to meet at the park today but she never showed up"

"If you want I can stop by her place on my way home and check up on her" Y/N suggested

"Yeah that'll be nice thanks Y/N"  Robby says as he fist bumped Y/N

"Don't worry about it man" Y/N says

"Oh hey Y/N" Y/N turned to see Miguel

"Hey man" Y/N greeted his friend with a fist bump

"We gonna be cool after I win tomorrow" Miguel says with a playful smirk and Y/N gave a smirk of his own

"Oh I won't but don't get all butt hurt after I beat you" Y/N making Miguel chuckle but Miguel's laugher turned into something more serious

"Y/N even tho I don't be really mad if you win but I really do need this man.....I'm thinking about Stanford and this.....this really could change my Life"

"I understand Miguel but at the same time it could also open up opportunities for me as well but I'm gonna give my all tomorrow as should you and Robby okay"

"Yeah I understand I'll see you tomorrow Y/N"

"Yeah you too" Y/N says before leaving

Tory's apartment complex

Arriving at Tory's place Y/N walked into the complex and knocks on the door

"Hey Tory you here?" Y/N calls out but no answer But inside the house Tory sat Alone and broken

She looked at the door hearing Y/N call out her name she and she was about to get up but she couldn't the pain she felt the loss her just experienced was too much for her so she sat back down and didn't say a single word

Back outside Y/N knocked one last time before letting out a sigh

"Tory where are you?' Y/N says before leaving and inside the apartment Tory started to cry

The Next Day the hospital

Y/N's Captain fight was today but he wanted to visit his Aunt Tessa before he went to the dojo he was about to into her room but stopped when he heard his mom talking to the doctor

"I'm sorry Mrs. Myers but where doing all we can"

"I understand that but she's....been like this for a while there isn't anything else you can do?"

"No I'm afraid not it's really up to her when she wakes up all you and your family can do is just pray she gets better and wakes up.......I'm sorry" the doctor says as she leaves the room and Y/N walked in and Sarah was holding back tears till she saw Y/N and quickly whipped her tears away

"Y/N?....hey sweetie...... aren't you suppose at the dojo" Sarah says but Y/N didn't say anything as he was still trying to process what the doctor just said

"I'm..... I'm gonna go get something to eat do you want anything?" She asked her son

"No I'm.....okay mom" Y/N says and Sarah nodded and left leaving Y/N alone and he walked up to Tessa unconscious body

"Hey, Aunt Tess. It’s me, Y/N. I know you can’t hear me, but... I just wanted to check on you. I Heard what the doctor said but I'm hoping you'll pull though" he says taking a hold of her hand

"I wish I hadn’t heard that. Moms worried she's just trying not to show it. She was talking to the doctor... about you waking up. I don’t want to think about that" Y/N says his voice cracking

"Remember when you took me to the beach last summer? You promised we’d build the biggest sandcastle. I was so sure we could make it even bigger than the last one! You were always so fun" Y/N says sadly

"I just wish you’d wake up. You can't leave us. You’re stronger than this" Y/N says as tears started running down his face

He wipes the tears from his eyes, looking back at her face

"I’m scared too. It’s not the same without you around."

The faint sound of footsteps approaching makes him tense. He looks towards the door, but it’s just his MOM entering, her face tired but hopeful and she carried food

"Hey, sweetie. How’s she doing?" She asked her son

"Uh, she’s just... sleeping" he responded

"Yeah, that’s good. Just… letting her body rest" Sarah says

"Mom, I... I heard you talking to the doctor" Y/N says making his mother frown and she tried to hide her grief but the weight of reality was sinking in

"I didn’t want you to hear that. It’s just –" she tried to say but was cut off by Y/N

"But what if she doesn’t wake up? You didn’t say that, but..."

"Y/N, I—"

"I know it’s not your fault! But I can’t just sit here and pretend everything’s okay" Y/N says as he started to cry and Sarah set the food down and hugged her son

"I know it’s hard. I wish I could make it all better" Sarah says

"It's just....not fair"

"Sometimes honey life isn't fair" Sarah says

"But all we can do is keep moving forward and be here for each other"

"She's right Y/N" a sudden voice says and both mother and son looked to see Mike standing in the door way

"Dad?" Y/N says and Sarah smiled at the father of her son and the two didn't say anything to each other but hugged each other

"It's good to see you again mike"

"You too Sarah you look......good" Mike says and Sarah chuckled

"I'm doing my best" she says as Mike turned his attention to Y/N

"Shouldn't you be at the dojo getting ready for your captain fight?" Mike asked

"I was but Aunt Tess needs me here she's more important then the Seikai Taikai" Y/N says looking at Tessa

"Y/N well all know Tessa wouldn't want you to stand here and not take this wonderful opportunity for yourself" Mike says

"But-"

"No butts young man Tessa wouldn't approve of you standing here and sulking would she?"

"We.....no" Y/N mumbled as Mike placed a hand on his shoulder

"That's why you need to get out of here and go win that captain fight" Mike says

"Your father's right sweetie i want you to give it your all and don't you dare hesitate because you are a special person Y/N show them how special and amazing you are" Sarah says genuinely and with heart making Y/N give her a smile

"I love you guys" Y/N says hugging both of his parents who didn't even hesitate to hug back

"We love you too kiddo" Sarah

"Now get out of here and go win this thing for Tessa and most importantly for yourself" Mike says and Y/N nodded and walked over to Tessa and kissed her cheek

"This is for you Aunt Tess" Y/N says before leaving and Sarah looked at Mike

"Do you think he's able to do this?" She asked him

"I don't think he can i KNOW he can" Mike says having complete faith in his son

Y/N arrived at the dojo dressed in his gi when he noticed his girlfriend was there and she was holding a sign that said

"Moon what are you doing here not that I'm not happy to see you" he says to his girlfriend

"I talked to your parents earlier today and we agreed that I'd be here to support you" moon says and Y/N smiled slightly

"Thanks but you didn't have to be here moon

"I know I wanted to be here for you" she says kissing his cheek and off to the side Devon looked at the two with slight jealousy

"Hey Dev" Devon looked at Alex and she smiled at him.

Lately Devon and Alex have gotten closer and whenever he was around Devon would feel things that she couldn't understand 100%

"Hey Al" she greeted back with his new nickname

"So who are you betting on winning today?" He asked her

"My money's on Y/N for the guys and Tory for the girls" Devon answered

"Wow really, you think Tory's beating Sam?" Alex asked

"Tory's been training hard and I can see winning this" Devon responded and Alex nodded and smirked

"Okay how about a little bet then" Alex says and Devon looked at him curiously

"Okay what's the bet?" She asked

"Since both of us can agree on Y/N winning if Sam wins you have to let me take you out" Alex says and Devon blushed at this

"What like.....a date?" Devon says and this time it was Alex's turn to blush

Over with Miguel and Robby both of them where warming up when Johnny walked up to Miguel

Y/N was also warming up when Daniel walked up to him

"Hey Y/N, I just wanted to wish you good luck and Just remember all you've learned and keep your balance okay?" Daniel says so Y/N who nodded

"Yeah thanks Mr Larusso" Y/N says as Daniel patted his shoulder and walked over to Johnny and Y/N saw Tory walk in but she looked like she's been crying

"Tory hey you okay?" He asked her out of concern and Tory gave him a fake smile

"Yeah sorry for being late" she apologized but
Y/N shook his head

"Hey you're here that's all that matters" Y/N tells  her with a kind smile and she gave another fake smile and walked over to Robby

"Is she okay? She looked" moon asked

"Out of it" he finished

"Yeah"

"I'll talk to her after all of this is over" he tells her

Over with Daniel and Johnny

"Sensei Lawrence, a word, please? Hey, Johnny, listen. About yesterday"

"It's fine. I get it. You're the boss. And I know you've been dealing with some shit"

So, I was thinking, what if I refereed Y/N,  Robby and Miguel? Keep you out of the middle of your boys And you ref Sam and Tory" Daniel says

"Sounds fair" Johnny agreed

"It's gonna be a rough day for these kids We just need to be there for 'em" Daniel says as both sensei's shake hands and everyone lined and Daniel got onto the sparring Deck

"Miguel, Y/N, you're up first"

"Good luck I love you" moon says kissing Y/N's and he nodded and got into the sparring Deck
