Everyone in the middle of intense training everyone was determined more then ever since finding out about the seven spots for the Sekai Taikai

"The Sekai Taikai is coming It's up to us
to pick our six most badass fighters" Johnny tells the students as he watched over their training

"And there are no easy decisions We know you all wanna go to Barcelona" Daniel added to Johnny's statement as he watched everyone train as well

"Some of you think you're shoo-ins, that you're at the top of your game, that nothing or no one can stop you" Johnny says watching both hawk and Y/N sparring intensely

"Some of you think you're the underdogs, and you don't know if you have what it takes, and that you feel left out and left behind" Daniel says as hawk and Y/N sparred both Demetri and Alex watched with slight envie and even concern as did Devon as she watched both Sam and Tory trian

"But it's a level playing field Anything can happen" Johnny Says

"Each and every one of you
has a shot" Daniel tells his students watching them do basic kata

"So, as we make our evaluations,
do your best" Daniel comments

"Now is not the time to puss out" Johnny says throwing a surprise punch to Y/N who quickly blocked the attack and Johnny nodded impressed

"Even though we're competing against each other, we are still one dojo.
And it's time to bring out the best
in all of us" Daniel tells everyone

"So, which of you has what it takes to be in our top six?" Johnny says

The power couple of Miguel, Sam and Robby and Tory walked into the school building

"Y'all think there's any chance we don't make it in the top seven?" Miguel asked his fellow teens and Tory scoffed

"Maybe when hell freezes over" Tory comments making Sam chuckle

"Let's hope there's not a tournament category for humility" Sam says playfully

"Oh, come on. We got two All Valley champs and two runner-ups" Robby comments

With hawk and Demetri

"I mean, you're a no-brainer It's really only that sixth spot that's up for grabs" Demetri says as he and hawk walked down the halls

"Yeah, and it's yours for the taking" hawk tells his binary brother

"I appreciate the support, but I ran a statistical analysis And while there is an 18% chance you're right, the smart money is on Kenny or even Alex"

"Alex and Kenny?" Hawk questions

"Yeah I mean, he did beat you in that head-to-head. Uh, cheap shot notwithstanding and plus Alex has been trained by Y/N himself probably the most talented fighter in the Valley" Demetri explained

"Okay, Payne's got power But so do you.

Don't count yourself out, man and you have way more experience then Alex even tho he was trained by Y/N that doesn't mean you have to count yourself out" hawk tells Demetri

"Hmm. I prefer to focus on something actually achievable Getting into MIT Early Action decisions come out any day now, you know" Demetri says and hawk groaned inwardly

"Yeah, I know" hawk says plainly

"Hey, man, come on. Have no fear I may not have confidence about becoming a world karate champion, but I know that MI cannot turn down the Binary Bros" Demetri says

With Alex, Anthony and Devon

"God, I hope I get to go to Barcelona"

"I know right I've ever been out of country before it would be a really cool experience" alex says

"I don't see how they could leave you two home You both got speed and agility and Alex I've seen seeing how seriously you've teen taking training lately" Anthony says looking at Alex and sighs

"Yeah I know it's just in trying to catch up with everyone else since they are so much more ahead of me" Alex explains

Hey don't sell yourself Short Alex You've got just as much of a shot as me I saw you land that point on Y/N during training"

"Ah, it was a lucky shot" Alex says but smiled at her compliment

"Sure was" came the voice of Kenny making Alex frown

"I wouldn't get your hopes up, LaRusso or you either Alex No way the of you both going And I'm definitely going"

"Senseis said it was anyone's game" Anthony Says

"He's Right Payne best not talk a big game if you can't back it up" Alex comments making Kenny chuckle

"All right Let's see both you bring it then" he says walking away

The young couple walked the halls hand and hand talking until a certain topic came up

"Hey, babe. You’ve been pretty quiet about the whole tournament team thing I just wanted to make sure your okay?" She asked in concern as they stop at her locker

"Yeah I know it's just.....I don't know how this is gonna effect everyone ya know" he says

"you’ve been training so hard! You guys one of the most dedicated people I know" she says taking some books out of her locker

"I know, but there are so many talented fighters in the dojo and it’s just—ugh, it’s frustrating! That not all of us can go everyone's been training so hard and it might all be more nothing" Y/N says in a frustrated tone

"I get that babe Just remember why you all started karate in the first place. It was about self-improvement, right?" Moon says

"Yeah, but it’s different when you’re up against guys from different part of the world for a tournament and can throw punches like they’re in a movie" Y/N says

Okay so what do you know how many times I've seen you, Miguel, Sam ,Robby, Tory and hawk kick ass plus you guys got heart. That counts for a lot" Moon says kissing his cheek making him smile

"Your right thanks Moon"

"That's what I'm here for now let's get to class" she says taking his hand

"Yes ma'am" he says playfully as they walked to.there next class together

After school Miyagi-Do Dojo

Y/N arrived at Miyagi-Do as he was walking into the dojo he noticed that a particular car outside the dojo

"That's weirds it looks like Dad's car" he says going inside the dojo and to his surprise he saw his father in a black and red gi

"Dad?" Y/N questions walking up to Mike

"Dad what are you-"

"Mr Barnes no time for talking get your gi on and line up with everyone else" Mike says in a stern voice confusing Y/N

"Uh okay" Y/N he says as he goes to get changed

Sometime Later

"Please welcome our guest for the weekend, Sensei Barnes" Daniel introduced

"Isn't that guy at the Silver house fight?" One student Asked

"Yeah I think so and I think he's Y/N dad" another student says

"Silence!" Mike yells silencing everyone

"I like this guy" Johnny tells Daniel

"In order to keep things unbiased, we brought in Sensei Barnes to observe
then help select our top six" Daniel explains

"During my years as the Tournament Terror, all I wanted was to be in the Sekai Taikai But I blew my chance" Mike says looking at Daniel who nodded

"I am here to ensure that you maximize yours" Mike says looking at everyone but mainly at Y/N

"Everyone I know who has participated in this has horror stories This thing is intense Unpredictable People have died" Mike tells all of them as he walking around expecting everyone

"Move!" Mike yells at a student that was standing in his way and he jumped back into line

"Who's ready for that?" Mike asked

"Wait. Ready for the tournament or to die?"

"The tournament i think or maybe both" Y/N responded

"I will do to you what the Sekai Taikai will do I will surprise you with events I will push you to your limits And if any of you delicate flowers feel like going to your sensei's and crying, don't I've been given full authority for these eliminations" Mike yells all of them

"Selections. Let's keep this positive" Daniel tells Mike and Mike turned to look at Daniel

"You came to me The deal was my way or the highway......and one more thing if ANYONE here thinks I will show special treatment towards Y/N just because he's my son get over it everyone here will treated equally now Get on the sparring deck" Mike tells them but nobody moved

"Now!" Mike yells as everyone got onto the sparring deck

"Man Y/N who knew you dad was so intense" hawk says

"Yeah he's like a more angry version of Sensei Lawrence" Sam comments

"Yeah tell me about" Y/N mumbled

Time skip to training

"To survive the first round, you will need to show me excellence and speed" Mike says as he released some chickens and everyone was chasing it around but ultimately the only person to catch the chicken was Kenny and mike gave him a thumbs up making both Devon and Alex groan in frustration

"Strength" Mike says as he watched various students breaking boards and he sees Y/N breaking Ten boards with no effort with blinding speed and Y/N looked at his father who shook his head and wrote something down making Y/N frown

"Endurance" Mike says as students now where squatting while holding a heavy rock and the last two standing where both Alex and Devon and Mike nodded at the two in acknowledgement

"And teamwork" Mike says seeing both Robby and Mike taking on everyone as they worked together

Both Y/N and Hawk did the same as they held off various students using teamwork.

After Training

"Congratulations You didn't die Still, half of you wouldn't last one match at the Sekai Taikai To the 13 who might, join me up here when I call your name" Mike says looking at his list of his names

"Hawk, Robby, Miguel, Sam, Tory" Mike says when called the names everyone clapped

"Muscles" Mike says confusing everyone

"Yeah, you" Mike says pointing at Mitch

"I have a new nickname?" Mitch asked

"Get up here" Mike tells them

"I have a new nickname!" Mitch says as he ran up onto the sparring deck

"Kenny and Alex" Mike says as both of them came up onto the Deck

Kenny, good job No one ever catches the chicken and Alex nice job with the endurance challenge" Mike complements  the two making Devon scoff

"Nate, Chris" Mike called

"Only four left" Devon tells Y/N who nodded

"I'm a goner" Demetri says

"Demetri" Mike called shocking Demetri as he got onto stage

"Devon" Mike called and Johnny smiled proudly

"Anthony" Mike called surprisingly

"Yes!" Daniel says proudly

"How do you like them apples, huh?" Daniel says

"And lastly we have Y/N" Mike says looking at his son who didn't have a happy look on his face as he joined everyone else on the deck

"Congratulations, top 13 Meet me back here tomorrow for round two To the rest of you, you're out"

"Better luck next time" Mike tells everyone else

"You two Fierce. Keep it up" Mike says to both Sam and Tory who fist bumped Each other but Devon herself rolls her eyes and scoffed and everyone separated

"Y/N can we talk?" Mike called over to his son

"Yeah?"

"Good job out there today" Mike says making Y/N smile

"Thanks dad I-"

"But I need you to do better next challenge" Mike says cutting him off making Y/N frown

"What?" Y/N says in a irritated voice

"You did great but I also saw you make some pretty rough mistakes" Mike pointed out and Y/N rolls his eyes

"Are you serious?" Y/N says in a more irritated voice

"Look I'm not saying you'd didn't do great but there is room for improvement is all okay?" Mike says and Y/N not wanting to argue with his dad just agreed

"Yeah dad" Y/N says with a fake smile And Mike smiles and patted his son's shoulder

"Great I'll see you tomorrow" Mike says before leaving the dojo and Y/N let's out a frustrated sigh and he saw Devon looking upset

"Dev, you kicked ass out there Why do you look so pissed?" Y/N asked Devon

"No offense to your dad Y/N but I won the endurance challenge But who does
substitute sensei congratulate? Kenny, for the chicken"

"Yeah he said-"  he tried to say

"And Sam and Tory for being "fierce."
What about me? I'm fierce too" she said in frustration

"Look Dev I get my dad can be a lot trust me I know but He put you through to the next round, didn't he?" Y/N says but that  didn't clam Devon down

"Yeah, but let's be realistic Y/N after you the power couples and Hawk, there's really only one spot up for grabs I can't win it if the judge doesn't see me" Devon ranted and Y/N could understand her frustration

"I'm sure you'll do fine Devon" Y/N says giving her a smile

"I just don't wanna disappoint you" Devon admitted

Y/N placed a hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eyes

"Listen, Dev you're not gonna disappoint me no matter if you make the team or not I'll be proud of you" he says making Devon smile slightly and even blush

"Really?"

"A 110%" he says with a smile

Later that Day Miyagi-Do Dojo (night)

Y/N who was with both Moon and Yasmine walked into the dojo dressed nicely they saw Mitch, Chris, Anthony, Nate, Devon, Kenny and Alex all training for tomorrow's challenge and Y/N was there helping Alex train

"Hey do any of you nerds know where I can find my boyfriend" Yasmine yells getting everyone's attention and Y/N looked at her with a raised brow

"Except you Y/N"

"Thank you and Demetri's inside" he says pointing inside the dojo

"Thank you" Yasmine says

And she made her way inside the dojo and Y/N gets out of a fighting stance confusing Alex

"What's up?" Alex asked

"Time to take a little break" Y/N says but Alex simply shook his head

"What no way I've gotta improve for tomorrow's challenge"

"Hey Alex You were fierce out there today. I could see you really dominated and plus your skills are top notch" Y/N complemented and Alex looked at him and a annoyed expression

"Well top notch isn't good enough Everyone else is getting stronger, faster. I need to keep up! I can't fall behind" Alex says

"I understand the desire to improve, but strength isn’t just about aggression. It’s about control and balance" Y/N tells the younger teen who shook his head

"But how can I earn respect if I don’t show them I can be tough? They’re all pushing themselves and If I hold back, I’ll just get left behind"

"Look Alex I admire your drive, truly. But remember, it’s not a race. Becoming strong isn’t merely about attacking harder; it’s about mastering yourself. Aggression can blind you trust me me"

"But didn’t you say every strong warrior has to be fierce?"

"Yes, but fierce doesn’t mean reckless. Look at the bamboo—flexible yet strong. It withstands storms because it doesn’t break. If you let anger consume you, you risk losing everything you’ve trained for." Y/N tells Alex

"So what… you think I’m too aggressive?" Alex questions with a raised brow

"I think you’re passionate. Passion can be a
