*The Next Day*
~The boys have played many games and lost almost all of them. Everyone seemed out of their groove. The teams second manager began to worry. The first year duo had finally arrived yesterday. They also seemed like they were a bit out of it but they managed to help out a lot.
As the teams were taking a break, the girl and Sugawara were sitting on the grass. She watched as his breathing was heavy and he was drinking his water. She could tell he was obviously frustrated by the amount of loses and his now lack of participation.
"Suga-"
"I'm okay. Don't worry" He interrupted her, not wanting her to question him. He looked at her and gave her a small smile which she returned.
She wanted to see him play more. She loved how he played as a setter. He was one of the best, besides Tooru. They all went back inside but she stayed out. She peeked her head in the gym and made sure Suga wasn't looking before she looked for Ukai.
"Ukai psst!" He looked at her and she motioned her hand for him to come over. She began to play with her rings as he walked over, not really sure how to put what she was going to say.
"What's up?" He asked once he reached her.
"um" She looked in the gym to see Suga from the sideline. His face wasn't the soft and pleasant one he always had, "I know i don't particularly have a say in how you do plays and how this stuff works but," She stood up straight, "I want you to put Sugawara in the game!"
His eyes widened as he looked at the determined look in her eye.
"Why?" was all he said as he put a hand on his hip.
She sighed, "Suga does non-stop stimulation and is always thinking. You know better than anyone how hard he tries. It's not fair that he's kept from doing something he loves just because a first year "happens to be better". Sugawara is a damn good setter and deserved to be put in the game more from here on out." She said with a bit of an attitude. She made a note to apologize for it later.
"Why are you defending him? Don't you hate him?" He raised his eyebrow and she shook her head.
"Suga and I have come to an understanding. I tolerate him. But hate him or not, I still mean what I said" She told him while she clenched her fists.
He looked at her before walking inside the gym. She waited a bit before entering. Before she reached them, she saw Ukai whisper something to Takeda. She sat next to Kiyoko.
"Sugawara-kun!" Takeda called for him. Suga jogged over with a confused look, "Go sit next to L/N for now. You'll be put in shortly" Sugas eyes widened and bowed at him before coming to sit next to you. Their hands were touching so he decided to hold her pinky with his.
Sugawara was put in a lot more today than he has ever been. The girl could see how lively he felt. He was literally glowing and flowing with happiness. Shes never seen someone look so tired yet happy.
As she was putting stuff away, she heard footsteps from behind her.
"Y/N," She turned around and saw Akaashi walking up to her.
"Hey, what's up?" She smiled at him.
"Nothing. I just wanted to talk to you for a little bit before you leave." He looked at her as they walked outside. He noticed she was shivering a little bit. He took his Fukurodani jacket off and gave it to her.
"Ah, thank you! And don't worry, we'll see each other in two weeks but for longer!" She smiled at him while she put the jacket on. He looked at the ground.
"You don't smile much, do you Akaashi?" She asked and he shrugged.
"Not really? Bokuto-san always tells me I have to smile more though." He said and she laughed,
"Well as your feature girlfriend i'm going to make sure you smile more!" She joked with him. He laughed. She didn't expect her stupidity to make him laugh so it made her happy.
"Y/N,"
She hummed in response.
"Are you sure Sugawara doesn't have a thing for you? I've been catching him staring at you all day" He decided to ask even if it wasn't any of his business.
"Oh? Does that mean you were staring at me all day?" She teased him and he blushed. She started laughing "Im kidding. Yes i'm sure. Sugawara is just my friend." She put a hand on his shoulder. It wasn't there for more than 3 seconds before the boy they were just talking about took her hand in his,
"Sorry but we're kind of in a hurry to get home so we need to rush. Bye!" He quickly dragged her away and back to where they were staying so she could pack her stuff.
"Suga! That was rude! And I didn't get to give him his jacket back! Why do you keep doing that?" She frowned at him.
"Hey, I don't have a girlfriend so who am I supposed to have fun with if you start dating him?" He complained which made her frown even more.
"We both agreed to stop if one of us starts dating. Now stop being a baby and I don't know, start looking for a girlfriend!"
She stormed off to her room, making a mental note to give Akaashi his jacket back the next time she saw him. Once she finished packing, she sat with Kiyoko on the bus and automatically fell asleep. When they got to the school, she put some stuff away in her locker that was in the girls locker room before she walked out. She saw Hinata and Kageyama go into the gym for extra practice so she followed them.
"Hey, you played games all day. You should go home." She said as leaned against the doorframe.
"Y/N-san! Throw a few balls for us please! Then we'll go home, I promise!" Hinata begged until she gave in.
She threw a few balls and Hinata wasn't really making any. She spaced out for a bit but then came back once she heard yelling. They began to fight and she thought it was just a normal boys think until she saw Kageyama throw Hinata. Hinata charged at him again.
She calmly walked up to them and slapped them with all her might. They let go of each other and looked at her,
"I didn't stay here for you to fight like little girls. Clean up and go home before I kick your asses!" She yelled and they quickly cleaned and left.
She sighed and grabbed her bag. She turned the lights off and locked the doors once she stepped out. When she turned around, she was met with the pretty silver haired setter, who was giving her a soft smile.
She frowned, "Just because we're home doesn't mean i'm gonna let you finger me or something. Especially not after what you did." She walked passed him and he caught up to her.
"I'm sorry Y/N, I realized I was being a little possessive when I have no right to be. It won't happen again I promise." He put his right hand over his heart and lifted his left hand up.
"Fine, just walk me home. I'm really tired." He grabbed her hand and started leading the way.
About halfway through their walk, her legs have out so he gave her a piggy back ride. She eventually fell asleep on his back. He reached her house and took the key out of her bag. Once he had her tucked in her bed, he kissed her forehead and left.
