Anakin's POV
I almost had her.
I felt her coming back to me in that moment. But her pain and anger because of me took over once again and I let her slip through my fingers. I grabbed the drink in front of me and chugged it down so the liquid burned my throat. I set the empty glass down and asked the bartender for another.
It's been three weeks.
Three whole weeks since I last saw her and she never once left my mind. The pain was excruciating. If I was lucky enough to get any sleep, I only ever dreamt of her. I dreamt of our wedding, I dreamt of the day we caught Obi-Wan and Satine in the closet and how we ran through the hallways laughing together, I dreamt of us training together that always seemed to end in.. well you know. Every dream, a happy memory that made me feel like my mind was tormenting me.
"Would you like to buy some death sticks?" A short smelly man came up next to me at the bar as I was drinking my fifth drink of the night.
"I would like you to go away." I growled without looking at him and continued on my drink.
"I can get you a good deal." He continued and I rolled my eyes as I set the glass down harshly on the table.
I turned to look at him and waved my hand in front of his face, "You don't want to sell me death sticks."
"I don't want to sell you death sticks." He nodded and he was about to turn away when I stopped him and I waved my hand again.
"You want to go home and rethink your life."
"I want to go home and rethink my life."
I watched as he turned around and left the bar. I chuckled to myself and finished the glass. "Can I have another?" My voice started to slur and the bartender gave me a look like he was contemplating on giving me more but he eventually nodded and filled my glass. "Thanks." I grabbed the glass and continued to allow the liquid to burn my insides. Alcohol was the only thing that dulled the pain in my chest. I still always felt it, but it gave me a little relief.
"Would you like some company?" A feminine voice came from my right and I had to hold in a deep sigh. This was the fourth girl tonight to come up to me. There was nothing wrong with them, these women were beautiful but despite my wife wanting absolutely nothing to do with me, I still love her and only her. Like I could ever want anyone who isn't (y/n).
"I'm good thanks." I responded in an annoyed tone without even giving her a glance.
"Come on, I bet I can cheer you up." She placed her hand on my arm and I yanked it out of her grip roughly. "Jerk." She mumbled with hurt feelings as she walked away.
After another hour had gone by and I was eight drinks in, the bartender finally cut me off. I was annoyed at him but I was also extremely intoxicated so my protests were coming out in drunken slurs and I'm pretty sure he couldn't understand a word I was saying. He had every right to cut me off, I couldn't even stand on my own.
I was sitting in a chair and leaning on the bar with my head down when I felt a pair of hands grab onto me, "Don't touch me!"I tried pushing the hands off thinking they belonged to a random woman.
"Jesus Anakin how much have you had to drink?" I heard the familiar voice of Obi-Wan. I lifted my head and the room was spinning but I could make out Obi-Wans blurry features.
"I don't know, ask him." I pointed towards the bartender.
Obi-Wans POV
This was his fourth night here this week and the bartender had gotten used to calling either me, Ahsoka, or Padme to pick him up since he always over drank. "Come on let's get you home." I tried helping him stand but he pushed me off.
"No, I can't stand being in that room without her." He slurred and put his head back down on the bar.
"Well you can't stay here so come on, I know just where to put you." I grabbed onto him again and this time he allowed me to help him up so I could walk him to the speeder. These past three weeks have been hell with him. He's been here almost every night since she left. If we didn't come up with a solution quickly I'm afraid he's going to die of alcohol poisoning.
We've tried everything to find her but it's a big galaxy and so far we've come up with absolutely nothing.
I put Anakin in the passenger side of the speeder and walked around to the drivers side so I could drive us to the temple.
We got to the temple and I draped his arm over my shoulders so I could easily guide him inside. Instead of taking him to his room as I usually did, I decided to take him to mine. Everyone in the temple hardly gave us a second glance, they were used to seeing this by now. I pulled Anakin into my room and set him on the bed.
"Why am I in here?" He questioned as he eyed the room.
"Well you didn't want to go to yours so you can stay here in mine." I shrugged and I bent down so I could take off his shoes. I doubt he had the mental capability to do it himself right now.
"On your bed?" He asked in a slur.
"Yes it's not a big deal, we used to share this bed all the time." I rolled my eyes, he was gonna make it weird, maybe I should sleep on the floor.
"I was nine, isn't it weird now that I'm twenty-three."
"It'll only be weird if you make it weird Anakin. Just stay on your side." I tossed his shoes to the side and pointed to the side where I wanted him to go.
"Alright," he responded in a sing-song tone as he backed up to get under the covers. "But no spooning unless you plan to buy me dinner first." He let out a drunken chuckle at his joke and I pinched the bridge of my nose in annoyance, although I was slightly amused.
Only when he was drunk would he act like his annoying self. I enjoyed it most of the time, it was the only time I saw him smile or hear him laugh, but I was also worried about the damage to his liver.
I was ready for bed also so I pulled in to the bed next to him. I closed my eyes to let sleep take me when I heard a whimper from next to me. Was he crying? "Anakin?"
"Anakins sleeping." He responded with a sniffle and I let out an eye roll.
"Sure he is, talk to me." I pushed onto his shoulder and he let out a sigh and turned around so he could face me.
"I miss her." I watched as tears fell down his cheeks, "I may never see her again and it's all my fault."
"It's all of our faults." I sighed, "I know it doesn't look good right now but trust me, we're gonna find her. She's important to me too you know." I half-smiled and he nodded.
I hated seeing him this way. This was my best friend, my brother, my son. I would do anything to take his pain away but I knew I couldn't until we found her.
I've been so helpless these past few weeks watching him self-destruct.
"I hope you're right." He whispered as he closed his eyes and I watched as the alcohol took over and he was falling sleep. Soon he was snoring and I let out a sigh. He was gonna have peace for a few hours.
I'm hoping tomorrow that Cody found the hologram footage I asked him for. That footage from Damon Scholath didn't just appear out of nowhere. I need to find out why the council never received it, I had a theory involving Rey but I needed proof that I was right if I was gonna present it to (y/n) whenever we found her.
(y/n)'s/Izdaja's POV
I bent over and the contents of my stomach came up and I let it all out into the toilet. Rey was standing in the doorway and she watched with a slightly disgusted expression. "I told you not to eat that stuff."
I flushed the toilet when I was done and stood up to rinse my mouth, "Shut up Rey." I rolled my eyes. I felt terrible, like I wanted to throw up again but I held it down. We had pressing matters to attend to.
"Are you done? The separatists are here." She threw a towel to me and I caught it as I spat the water down the sink.
"Yeah." I wiped my mouth clean and followed her out of the bathroom into a room full of separatists. They were all seated around a table and Rey took a seat at the head of the table and I stood behind her.
"Thank you all so much for coming." She smiled a sadistic smile. These poor souls have no idea.
"Why are we here?" One of them men spoke up. A grin escaped my lips as well and I used the force to close all the exits. They all looked around the room with confused expressions.
"You're here because I have no use for any of you." Rey chuckled and she looked to me and gave me a nod. I pulled out the crimson blade she gifted me with since Anakin took mine and jumped onto the table.
Reys POV
I leaned back in my chair and watched as she killed the separatists. They tried running like the morons they were, all exits were closed, they had nowhere to go.
Did I have to kill them? No.
Did I do this purely for my own entertainment? Possibly.
But I really did have no use for them. I didn't care about the war. I didn't care about Sidious's plan to become emperor of the galaxy. I didn't want any of that. All I wanted was to destroy the Jedi Temple and all the Jedi inside.
Taking that temple was going to be easy now that the droid army belonged to me.
I pulled myself out of my thoughts and looked up to (y/n) as she stood over one of the Separatists, he was pleading for his life. He was the last one left and I could tell she was enjoying his begging. "Sweetie." I called to her and she looked away from the man to look at me. "Don't play with your food." I chuckled and she smiled and looked back to the man. She let out a dark chuckle and pierced the blade through his chest. He fell to the floor and she retracted the blade and looked to me for my approval. "Good job." I praised her with a smile that she returned.
Anakin's POV
"That's right, let it out." Obi-Wan patted my back while I threw up the alcohol from the night before into the waste basket near his bed.
"I'm never drinking again." I choked out as I continued vomiting.
"Yeah like you haven't said that before." He snorted as he grabbed the basket from me when I finished and he took it to his bathroom to clean.
I leaned on the bed frame with my eyes closed, the lights were too bright for me and making my headache worse. There was a knock on his door and he yelled for them to come in.
I opened my eyes when I heard it open and Cody entered, he looked to me confused for a moment then realization crossed his features when he saw the state I was in. "Another late night General?" He raised his brows and I groaned as I rubbed my temples.
"Did you find it?" Obi-Wan walked in from the bathroom and he handed me the basket back in case I needed to throw up again.
"Yes, I went off of your theory and I checked Lida's, or Rey's, whatever her name is, office and sure enough she had tons of stolen footage in her desk." He pulled a drive from his pocket and handed it to Obi-Wan. "It took all night to look through them but I believe this is the one you're looking for General." I was watching them curiously, wondering what it was that they were talking about.
"And was I right?" He asked him as he eyed the drive.
Cody nodded with a smile, "Yes."
Obi-Wan smiled back and he turned to me holding up the drive, "This is enough to prove to (y/n) that Rey has been manipulating her from the beginning."
