A little girl with (e/c) colored eyes watched as a bunch of bullies picked on a boy with fluffy blue hair.
She just hid herself in a corner, contemplating whether or not to help him. If she did, maybe she'd also get involved. But if she didn't, the poor boy would have to suffer this situation every single day.
It's bad enough that no one wants to talk to him because he looks like he's angry all the time. But now, even the bullies set their eyes on him as their new target.
The girl gathered up her courage and picked the random tube she found nearby, thoughts of helping the boy in her mind. She wasn't going to hit the bullies with the metal tube in her hands, no. Instead, she just wanted to scare them.
She went out of her hiding spot, looking smug even though she really wanted to flee the scene.
"What do you think you're all doing, picking on him?" she spoke loudly and confidently, a mischievous smile on her face.
"Ha?! And who do you think you are?" one of them asked back.
He seemed to be the leader of the group, being the biggest out of all of them.
They stopped picking in the fluffy-looking blue haired boy and turned their attention towards you instead. The said boy however, he just looked at you with tears already streaming down his cheeks, seemingly wanting you to get away from there as soon as you can.
The look on his face told you so.
You only smiled at him before turning your attention back to the bullies. You thought hard about what to say, making sure that they'd understand what you're trying to say here.
"He's mine. So stop picking on him or I'll be forced to break your legs. All of you." you retorted calmly, showing them the tube you had on your other hand.
They got nervous seeing what you had in hand and moreover, at how you said the last statement.
Meanwhile, the bruised boy sitting in the ground looked at you, not believing that someone would actually care for him this much. Except for his brother and parents of course.
"T-tsk!"
And with that the bullies ran off to the opposite direction, making you laugh a bit at how gullible they are.
Once you made sure they left, you dropped the metal tube you've been holding and went to the boy. You crouched down, sitting in the ground and so did he.
"Hey, are you okay?" you asked him.
He just looked at you, as if observing you. He still doesn't know how to react from what just happened.
"...I'm sorry, this is rude of me. I'm (L/N) (Y/N)." you introduced yourself, smiling at him.
He took a few moments before finally coming up with an answer.
"I'm K-Kawata Souya..."
You giggled at him stuttering while he wiped his face. You stood up, helping him stand as well.
"The ground's dirty. Come on." you held his hand and as you did, he still looked at you, a faint blush on his cheeks.
"Thank you..."
You looked at him, finding it cute at how he's still wiping his tears from his face.
"No need to be thankful. It's just that... It bothers me that they always pick on you everyday. And besides, it doesn't even seem like you're gonna help yourself so, I did it for you." you grinned.
"..."
"Jeez you're so shy, aren't you? It's fine, I'll do the talking for the both of us." you assured him, still holding his hand. "You're not as bad as how the others say. In fact, I think you're the most fluffy kid I met!"
He just gave you a weird look before, "...You're a kid too, you know..."
"I know but... You look so small and cute. In fact, you look a small fluffy cat!" you smiled at him, already knowing what you want to call him. "So, I'll call you fluffy cat instead of Souya, okay?"
He blushed even further at the nickname, looking like he's about to cry again.
"Hey no!" you panicked, seeing tears stream down his face again.
You wiped it off with your handkerchief gently, not wanting to make him cry even more.
Realizing that he'd been crying again, he sniffled, before turning his attention towards your features again. He really liked you even if both of you just met for a short time.
You patted his head in a hopeful attempt to make him stop crying. He did and you smiled at him.
"I... I'm sorry...!" he wailed again.
"No No No No! I.. No need to apologize!"
You panicked again and this time, you just hugged him. He immediately stopped crying and he just sniffled while you pulled away from the hug, looking at his eyes.
"Do you want me to call you Souya instead?" you gently asked him.
"No... F-fluffy cat is fine..." he muttered, no matter how silly the nickname was.
His face is red which made you wonder if the bullies really hit him that hard.
You smiled at his statement, the both of you continuing to walk to the neighborhood.
"Where do you live? We might pass by your house." you said, looking around the houses.
He seemed to have remembered something as he walked faster. You kept up with him, wondering why he's like that now.
'Maybe his house is near...'
Both of you continued to walk until you reached his house. You just stayed in the sidewalk, him glancing at you with a grateful look.
"..I.. Thank you.. For.. For saving me today!" he bowed.
Thoughts of you saying 'he's mine' still lingered around his mind, making him feel warm and fuzzy.
You burst out giggling before motioning for him to stand up.
"It's really no problem and besides! I didn't even do anything though..." you shyly mumbled.

It's been a few good years since that fortunate day happened.
You smiled to yourself, looking at your best friend who was now making his way towards you. His hair is still as fluffy as ever and he still looks so angry.
The Toman meeting had just finished with you just waiting in the entrance to the shrine since Angry doesn't want Mikey and the others to see you. They were too rash, Angry reasoned out, but he knew the real reason why he doesn't want you mingling with the others.
They'd fawn over you again.
Once he's in front of you, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders, trying hard to reach him properly.
"Hey Angry cat, come on." you grinned, looking directly at his flustered state.
He didn't move but instead, he just looked deeply in your eyes. You know that look he makes.
"Look, if you're gonna compare yourself to your brother again, save it. I told you already. I. Like. You. Just. The. Way. You. Are." you spoke softly, both hands cupping his face.
"...But... I thought-"
You cut him off by placing a gentle peck on his lips which made him erupt in various shades of red. He couldn't maintain eye contact after that, too flustered to even say anything.
The captains and some vice captains that were on their way down the shrine saw the whole scene, most of them frozen in place. Mikey was already gasping dramatically while pointing at you and Angry while Smiley's grin widened, realising he'd much rather leave his little brother alone with you again.
Both you and Angry didn't seem to notice the others as you gently patted the boy's cheek, before speaking up. "Now, let's just walk to your house. I wanna talk to you some more."
"Mhm, right..."
