CHAPTER SEVEN - WAY OF THE MASTER

𝓣𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙴𝚁

WE WERE ALL RUNNING FROM A ROCK. "This way!" Theo shouted. We all got knocked down. "Watch out!" Casey warned. We all dodged it as it turned back into a monster. "You think your other fights have been tough? I'll show you tough!" The monster exclaimed.

"I've been in a lot of worst fights than this, buddy." I think to myself. Lily, Theo, and I got out our weapons as we began attacking him. The monster ended up throwing us down. "Guys!" Casey said. The monster laughed evilly as Lily, Theo, and I got up.

"He wasn't kidding about tough." Casey informed. "Our weapons didn't even scratch him." Lily stated. "That's because nothing can get through my armor!" The monster exclaimed. "I wish I still had my ice staff..." I thought. "Never mind about those brats. You're here to clear out the city. Now get to it!" Camille ordered.

"I'm all over it." The monster replied as he grew bigger. "Zord time!" Casey said as we headed into our Zords. We changed into our Megazord. "Rolling attack!" The monster exclaimed as he turned himself into a ball. "This calls for a Megazord savage spin." Lily said as we began spinning.

We ended up being thrown out of our Megazord. We were back at JKP. "Talk to me, team." RJ said. "So, then, this giant anteater—" Lily started to say. "Hedgehog." Casey interrupted.

"I thought it was an artichoke with legs." Theo stated. "The hedgehog sounds more believable, Theo." I told him. "It was a pangolin." RJ informed. "Pango — what?" Theo asked.

"A pangolin — the name means "something that rolls up." It has platelike armor that's almost impossible to break through." RJ explained. "We found that out the hard way. None of our weapons worked." Lily commented. "Listen and learn, young cheetah — I said "almost impossible." You just don't have the right weapon." RJ said.

"You mean there's something that might work?" Theo asked. "There's a legend in The Order of The Claw about a master who wielded a weapon that could break through steel. His name was Master Phant." RJ stated. "Okay, so we just call this Master Phant dude and ask him to borrow his weapon — done deal." Casey said.

"If someone came up to you and asked you to borrow your weapon with no reason, Casey, would you give it to them?" I asked.

"Deal not done. When Master Phant retired, he moved to a remote forest to live a life of solitude. No one's heard from him in years." RJ stated. "Wonder why he dropped off the grid." Theo wondered out loud. "No one knows, but he's lost all contact with the Order of the Claw." RJ explained.

"Well, the Order of the Claw is about to contact him. Come on, guys. We're gonna find Master Phant." Lily said. The four of us were in a forest. "This is ridiculous! Are we almost there?" Theo asked. "What's the matter, is the mighty jaguar getting tired?" Casey asked.

I chuckled. "No, the mighty jaguar is getting eaten alive by mighty mosquitos." Theo replied as he sat down. "Chill, T. We're almost there. Let's keep focused on our mission, okay?" Lily said. "Okay, guys. Breaktime's over. Let's go." Casey told us. "No problem there. This forest is giving me the creeps." Theo stated.

"I may not have my ice powers anymore. But I'm getting the feeling someone is watching us." I think to myself. We continued following Casey.

"Come on, guys. Let's keep going. I think we're almost there. Stick close to each other." Lily said. That's when we suddenly got attacked. "My gut was correct." I thought. We began fighting the mysterious person. There was a big gust of wind as Lily was thrown to the ground.

"You are not wanted here. Go away!" The mysterious person said as they went away. "What was that about?" Theo asked. We finally arrived at a cabin. "What a dump. Don't tell me a Pai Zhuq master lives here." Theo said. "Well, there's only one way to find out." Casey stated.

We headed closer to the cabin. Lily knocked on the door. "Hello?" Lily said as she opened the door. "Anyone here?" She asked. "Yes." A man replied. There was a man sitting in a chair. "We're looking for Master Phant." Lily told him. "I was once known by that name. Why do you disturb my solitude?" Master Phant asked.

Casey, Theo, and Lily bowed. I awkwardly bowed with them. "Master, we need your help." Casey replied. "Impertinent children! You are not invited here. Leave me be." Master Phant said.

"No, please, we're not children — We're students of the Order of the Claw." Lily explained. "I see. Well, that's of no matter to me." Master Phant said. "Really? Well, if you really were a Pai Zhuq master, it might matter to you that Dai Shi has escaped." Theo informed.

"What? No, no. No, that cannot be." Master Phant said as he got up from his chair. "It's true. We're the new guardians who are trying to stop him." Casey stated. "Well, that is unfortunate, but there's nothing I can do to help you." Master Phant informed.

"Yes, there is. We need you to teach us how to use your special weapon." Lily said. "The Jungle Mace — I-I haven't even looked at it in years. It's the weapon of a warrior, not a useless old man." Master Phant said. "Useless, my foot! You're the one who kicked our tails before." Theo told him, holding the cloak the person who attacked us was wearing.

Master Phant took it from him. "I do not tolerate intruders! I just want to be left alone to live out my days in peace." Master Phant said.

Theo said nothing as he picked up his things and left. Casey, Lily, and I followed him. "Can you believe this guy? He's the only one that can help us, and all he does is sit around feeling sorry for himself." Theo said. "Theo, he's a Pai Zhuq master. Show some respect." Lily told him.

"I'm with Theo on this one — Master or not, I'm not gonna stand here and beg for his help when people are in danger." Casey said. I sighed as I groaned. "I'm sorry. There's nothing I can do." Master Phant informed. That's when our morphers beeped.

"Come on, guys." Theo said. I followed Theo and Casey. "Lil, you coming?" Theo asked. "No. Master Phant is going to show me how to use that Jungle Mace." Lily replied. "Stubborn girl, I said "No."" Master Phant said. "And I say I'm not leaving till you do." Lily stated. She sat down on the ground. "You guys call me if you need me." Lily told us.

"Too late!" Casey shouted as we showed up where Camille and Pangolin were at. Casey, Theo, and I began fighting Camille. Pangolin began drilling into the ground. We continued fighting Camille. Rinshi started appearing.

We began fighting them as well. "Jungle Katana!" I shouted as I got out my weapon. I sliced all of the Rinshi. I saw that Theo was fighting Camille. Casey got out his Strike Rider Cruise and finished off his portion of the Rinshi. Casey and I went to help Theo as we fell to the ground.

"It's been fun, but now it's time to say bye-bye, kiddies!" Camille said. "Jungle Mace!" Lily shouted. She showed up morphed as she grabbed Camille's hand with her new weapon. "Yeah! It wouldn't a party without me." Lily exclaimed. She began fighting Camille.

Camille went to attack Lily but Theo blocked her attacks. Casey and I then came in. Lily went to go take care of Pangolin while Theo, Casey, and I took care of Camille. Lily took down Pangolin as Casey, Theo, and I went up to congratulate her. That's when Pangolin grew.

"Animal Spirits, Unite as One." All four of us shouted. We changed into our Megazord. Pangolin turned himself into a ball as he headed towards us. We fell to the ground. "Now what do we do?" Casey asked.

"Come on, guys. We're going to use the elephant technique." Lily said. We all glowed our colors. "Calling on the spirit of the Elephant, Jungle Fury!" We all yelled. "Elephant attack!" We all shouted. The Elephant Zord attacked Pangolin.

"Spirit of the Elephant, combine!" We all yelled. The Elephant Zord connected to our Megazord. "Jungle Mace now!" We all shouted as we attacked Pangolin. "You can't defeat me! Pangolin rolling attack!" Pangolin said. "Jungle Mace, Spin Attack!" We all yelled. We finally destroyed Pangolin. We fixed up Master Phant's place.

"Now this, this is a place fit for a Pai Zhuq master." Theo said. "Yeah, I think we did a pretty good job." Casey agreed. "Doesn't look depressing anymore." I added. "Guys, here he comes." Lily informed. "Oh, what is this?" Master Phant asked. "A little thank-you present. Wait till you see the inside." Lily replied as she guided him inside.

"Well, Master, what do you think?" Lily asked. "It seems, in this case, the master has learned from the student." Master Phant replied. "It was an honor. And we may need your help again sometime, so don't forget to keep in touch." Lily told him.

"I have the spirit of the Elephant. I remember everything." Master Phant informed.
