Max's and Sebastian's Enemy

Slight swearing in this chapter if ya dont like it just change it to another insult (yes you get a chance to insult the king... kinda) :P

It's been two weeks since the "new arrangement" of the guards following you around. It's been... interesting? Okay no, you're not Rapunzel it's been a hell whole.

Having to kids bickering about everything is... in Varian's way... a pain in the Hm-hm.

I mean, it's not like you're not good friends with them... most of the time you like to hang out with them, you just like to have space from... constant fights.

And for you and Frederic? Well, let's just say they'll be no daddy and daughter dances any time soon... or at all.

Eugene tried to talk Frederic out of his "decision" but he won't listen... like usual.

Even though you accepted his "apology" your still pretty tense around him, I mean if he really wanted to show he was sorry he would have stopped making the guards-

Your Quill snaps, "Ugh, great! Now I'm gonna have to get a new one... Next scene!"

Your riding around town on Sebastian, well trying to, but stopping every once in a while since people want to pet Sebastian or for Stan and Pete to catch up.

Theres an extremely massive crowd of people, you go through with Sebastian to see Max getting attention too.

"Hey, pretty lookness huh?" Monty shows Max a lollipop of him.

Monty looks over to you, as you go up to him with Sebastian. "Oh, and don't worry! I made one of Sebby too! Though his didn't sell as much... But the two best horses of Corona!"

"Its Max!" A kid grabs the lollipop of Max.

You flip a coin over to Monty and get the one of Sebastian.

"Oooh, Maxie! Lookin' Spry and Svetle today!" Hook foot shouts.

"Don't worry Sebastian, your always those things too." You pat his head.

Sebastian didn't seem so bothered by all the attention Max was getting, he was happy his best friend was getting the attention he deserved. Though he still liked attention.

Stan and Pete, who are stood right next to you, of course... salute at Max, he salutes back.

Rapunzel laughs, "Max if this were a popularity contest you would win first place!"

You stare at her with a 'seriously' look as Sebastian is literally right here.

"Of course you would also be a very close second place Sebby." Rapunzel Pat's his head.

Eugene walks up too, "I gotta say, Max, that mane is looking great! Yours looks awesome to Sebastian! And that's coming from someone who knows good hair!"

Sophie walks up and pets the horses' heads. "Hey, (__)! What ya doin'?"

"Well, trying to have a horse ride without any guards but that hasn't worked very well..." you sigh.

"I'm sorry (__), but the king requested-"

"I get it, it's fine." You fake smile.

Sophie hops onto Sebastian.

You listen back to Rapunzel's conversation again.

"Max wants to look his best he's got an important assignment coming up, pulling the armored cart to the depository."

Lance walks up, "Wow, the depository! Where they keep all the Kingdoms money! Hey didn't us three try to rob that place?"

You hop off Sebastian to be bombarded with Stan and Pete, You groan.

"You know, I dont have any specific recollections, but if it's a place with money, ima go with yes," Eugene replies.

Sophie gets off Sebastian to shoo off the guards since she's seen how annoyed you're getting. "Yeah you tried, I did." She smirks.

"Stop! Theif!" A woman shouts.

"There they are!" Rapunzel points. "Max, Sebastian, you know what to do."

They both shoot off in the speed of lightning.

Stan and Pete,  like usual, are standing right at the side of you.

"Can I have just a LITTLE space PLEASE!?"

Max and Sebastian are zooming as fast as they can.

Captain laughs, "Good old Max and Sebastian!"

Max is about to catch hold of the theif when a black horse zooms past and grabs him first.

Everyone cheers.

Max and Sebastian go to introduce themselves but the horse doesn't seem that interested.

You all run up to see what's happening.

Lance and Eugene handle the dumbest theif around, also known as Dwayne.

"Brilliantly done! I've never seen such an impressive horse before!" Captain laughs.

Rapunzel walks up to the new horse. "Aww! What's your name big fella?"

You and Sophie walk up to Max and Sebastian.

"Good try you two." You pet they're heads.

They both appreciate it, though Max seems a little down.

"His name is Axel!" Rapunzel shouts.

You look at the new horse, he was humongous.

"Wheres your owner Axel?" Rapunzel asks.

Axel grunts sadly.

"You're all alone?! Oh well, you can stay at the castle tonight! Then tomorrow we can find you a good home!" Rapunzel uses a low pitched baby voice.

Captain walks up, "Yep, a  horse like this will have no problem finding an owner! In the meantime Max, why don't you show your new best pal around."

Max walks over to Sebastian to signal he already has a best pal.

"Aw! That's right! Sebastian can show him around too!" Rapunzel grins.

Both of the horses prance around exited then run off, Axel chases after them.

You look at the new horse again, somewhere you've seen him before... but where?

Everyone runs off leaving you, Sophie,  Eugene, lance, the theif and the guards.

"Uh, guys? Looks like we're taking him in..." Eugene sighs.

"Or you could let me go?"

"Can it Dwayne..." Lance groans as they walk back to the castle.

"So what you wanna do now?" Sophie asks.

"Like what?" You ask.

"Hmmm..." Sophie looks around.

"I need to ask someone... about something, so can I go on my own or do I need two guards invading my privacy?" You ask staring at Stan and Pete.

"Uh, well... the king said..."

"Ugh, you know what, I'm sorry but I have to do this." You grab a smoke chem ball out of your satchel and throw it to the ground.

You grab Sophie's wrist then run as fast as you can.

"So, wanna tell us where we're going?" Sophie asks.

"I need some space for one second." You explain then run straight into the blacksmiths to hide.

"Woah! Wanna tell me what's going on kids?" Xavier asks while fixing something for a customer.

"Oh, Xavier funny for you to be here..." you smile sheepishly.

Xavier chuckles, "Lemme guess, King Frederic has got protective over you since you didn't tell him about that mark?"

"Uhh, kinda... can we go inside... please?" You plead.

"Very Well, I'll come in a few minutes."

Meanwhile with Stan and Pete

The pink smoke clears just enough to see around.

"Oh, great... now time for a game of chase with two sneaky kids..." Stan sighs.

"Well this wouldn't have happened if you-"

"Oh, no no no! Don't blame this on me!"

~ Inaudible arguing ~

You're sat in Xavier's living room looking out the window when he finally comes through the door.

"So, hiding from the guards Huh? I would suggest you get away from the window then." Xavier chuckles then sits down on his chair.

You awkwardly walk away from the window and sit down next to Sophie.

"So, what's the question about this time?" Xavier asks.

"Well, do you know anything about old Saporia?"

"Old Saporia? Well, I know it's very much like old Corona, and is a very welcoming place-"

You interrupt him, "That's very good and all, but I mean anything about their village leader... say like ten years ago?"

"Ah, yes of course I do-"

Xavier once again gets interrupted by the door slamming open.

"There they are!" Pete breathlessly says.

You facepalm, "I suppose that's the break-up, I'll cya later Xavier..."

"Goodbye, and good look with that 'issue'... "

Meanwhile with Sebastian and Max

The three are trotting showing the new horse around.

They get to a food trough when they "share" but instead Axel takes all the food leaving Max and Sebastian in a grudge.

Back with you and Sophie

You're cuffed to Stan while Sophie is cuffed to Pete.

"Is this really necessary?" You ask trying to free yourself.

"If you're going to use those ball things on us... yes." Stan replies.

Sophie groans, "Ugh, we're not kids! And I'm not the one your protecting anyway!"

You look around the street to see everyone mad at Sebastian and Max.

"Hey, what's that over there?!" You point to the distance.

Stan and Pete look to where your pointing, while they're distracted you and Sophie pick the locks and run over to help the horses.

"What happened here boys?" You ask picking up apples since everyone else in the town is complaining yet doing nothing about it.

Max and Sebastian point to Axel.

"Oh, the new guy! Huh, I knew something was up with him..."

Suddenly a massive shadow comes behind you. You turn around to see Axel staring and grunting at you.

"Oh hello, Axel. Just a tip, if you want apples you gotta pay, or come to me, I've always got some spare for when the horses want a treat."

Leo tweets at you.

"Sorry, and bird."

You flip some coins to the market owner and give the horses and bird an apple each.

Axel takes the apple then walks away.

"Woah, someone is in a bad mood." Sophie picks up the last apples.

You hum in reply.

"Sophie! (__)! what did we say about running off!" Pete shouts.

"Technically we didn't run off... you fell for the distraction!" Sophie smirks.

Stan sighs, "C'mon let's just get back to the castle..."

You and Sophie glance at each other and smirk, "We'll buy you anything you want  from Uncle Montys if you don't tell."

"No, No, no we're not falling for it again!" They both cross their arms.

Five minutes later

You, Sophie, Stan and Pete walk out of the sweet shop.

"Mmmm!" Stan and Pete hum at the same time while holding a lollipop each.

"Always works." You whisper to Sophie, then you both giggle and walk back to the castle.

Later that night at the stables

Sebastian and Max walk into the stables annoyed after the whole day of getting chased by Old Lady Crowley.

Max shows Axel to a mat but he turns around to see that Axel has made himself home in Max's stable.

Sebastian notices and offers to share his stable with Max making a squished night for both of them.

The next morning

Your sat with Rapunzel and Sophie in the courtyard.

Finally, you had time to doodle and relax away from guards over your shoulder 24/7.

Axel trots over happily and neighs to get Rapunzel's attention.

"Axel! You look well rested! Glad it hasn't taken you that long to get comfortable around here."

Sebastian and Max slowly walk over, looking restless.

Rapunzel laughs, "Well, good morning sleepy heads! Look who's already up! Your best pal Axel!"

You stand up and walk over to Sebastian, "Huh? You don't usually wake up like this? Did you get any sleep last night?"

Max and Sebastian shake their heads.

Before you could say anything else Captain runs up.

"Oh, there you two are! I've been looking for you."

Sebastian and Max shake the sleepiness off and look over to Captain.

"I know you're aware of our intentions of finding Axel a home today..."

Max and Sebastian smirk.

"But after some serious thought, I've made a slight change of plans. In light of Axel's impressive show yesterday, and seeing how inseparable you three have become. I've decided Axel is what we need around here. Maximus, Sebastian, meet the new horse on the royal guard."

Axel smiles smugly while Max and Sebastian's faces turn from smirks to shocked.

"Wait uh, Captain? Are you sure that's the best idea? I mean we don't know where Axel came from... or which side he is on..." you look at Axel suspiciously.

"Oh, don't be silly (__), he's a horse." Captain brushes you off like a piece of dirt.

You, Sophie and all of the animals are looking through the guard's handbook.

Rapunzel walks past the door then comes back.

"There you guys are! So, Max, Sebastian exited for Axel to join you on the force?" Rapunzel asks.

They both grunt.

You and Leo continue looking through, once you've found the right page you push it forward without saying a word.

Rapunzel picks up the book and reads it out loud, "Oh, before gaining access to the Royal guard, everyone man, woman and horse must complete a series of tests, to measure his or hers Qualifications."

_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_

"Okay, (__) was right... partly. I may have been premature, in rewarding you a spot on the royal guard. But, pass these tests and you're in!" Captain explains.

Captain and Axel walk away you're petting Max and Sebastian when Stan and Pete walk over.

"That Axel is some horse Huh guys? He's like you two but a lot younger."

"And he's a lot bigger! So that means he's a lot stronger too."

"I think he's gonna put on quite a show."

You stare in annoyance since they're literally just insulting your horse and Max, "You know we're on the castle grounds still right?"

Stan sighs and leads you away from Rapunzel, "Look, we don't want to follow you around all the time but its king's orders."

"I know it's not your fault guys, Look, how about I make you a deal."

"And what's that?" Pete asks.

"Instead of you two following me like I'm a carriage full of diamonds, why don't we hang out how we used to before his royal assness-"

Stan clears his throat.

"Fine, his royal "Highness" decided for you two to follow me around for no good reason? You know, how we used too?"

Stan and Pete glance at each other then look back to you.

"What if Captain or the king see were not guarding you like how we were told?" Pete asks.

You smirk, "There's a thing called acting you know boys. Unless you wanna chase me and Sophie around town all day every day for long-"

"Fine! We'll act like we're doing the job." Stan replies desperately since he knows you and Sophie would do it.

"Good." You smile then walk back to Sophie.

"So, what happened? Did you tell them to leave you alone?" Sophie whispers.

"Uh, no... the boys are gonna hang around as friends, not guards." You reply.

"Oh, I suppose that would be better than whatever the hell they were doing before." She giggles.

Later that night

You're in your room reading as many books as possible trying to find out about the crystal.

Sophie has already gone to sleep so it's just you and Leo.

"Ugh! Nothing here either!" You whisper shout.

A coin goes under your door.

"Huh?"

Max and Sebastian walk through the halls defeated.

After Axel had beaten the two horses he was in charge of taking the bags over to the depository.

They both catch a familiar scent and see Axel with two bags of money in his mouth.

They both run to tell Captain.

"What you two think he's trying to steal money!?" Captain facepalms.

You groan annoyed at the fact you haven't found anything and go check on what's happening.

"Axel is taking these money bags to the cart for his mission tomorrow like a good horse!"

"Wha- what's going on?" You ask.

Captain ignores you like usual, "Now Axel has to pick up all these coins Thanks to you two. Good night."

Captain walks away.

Rapunzel tks at Max. "Max. Poor Axel..." She hugs Axel

She starts walking away too.

Max and Sebastian look at you with sadness then huff and Axel.

You walk into the corridor, "To be honest, I don't like Axel either."

Rapunzel jumps back in surprise then looks at you.

"I'm sorry if Max and Sebastian woke you, but why say that?" Rapunzel crosses her arms.

"Well, first of all, the fact that you keep blaming my horse all the damn time without seeing what happened beforehand. And second animals can sense stuff that we can't... don't you think it's strange that none of the horses like him, or any of the animals in fact?" You explain while picking up the coins and putting them in a new bag.

Rapunzel briefly listens to what you're saying then yawns. "I'm going to bed, you three should do the same..."

You roll your eyes, "Don't worry guys, your not the only one who doesn't like him..." you yawn, "Now if you excuse me I've got a date... with my bed."

And with that, you go back to your room and jump on your bed to soon fall asleep.
