One contestant tries the gauntlet but gets thrown into the air.

Cass sighs, "Look guys are you sure you want to do this?"

"Of course I do, it's time to prove a point." You look at the gauntlet determined.

"But you don't NEED to prove a point you have everyone's respect wrapped around you!" Cass shouts but you ignore her.

"Next up for The Gauntlet, Cassandra!"

Cass easily gets through.

"Now it's time for Starlight striker!"

You walk over to the gauntlet nervously, "Well here goes nothing..."

You run as fast as you can dodging each hammer.

"I did it!" You whisper proudly of yourself.

You can hear people clapping and cheering.

Cass looks at you shocked, "Pffft! That's just good luck!"

You roll your eyes and wait for Rapunzel.

"Next up, Princess Rapunzel!"

Rapunzel closes her eyes, focusing on the hammers’ sounds and rhythm. Then dances her way to the other side.

"What the hay..." you stand there in shock."Woah, now that's impressive..."

The audience chants Rapunzel's name.

Cass walks away, annoyed.

You roll your eyes at her again and go to see Rapunzel.

"Well, that's one way to get over." You giggle, "Ready for the next challenge?"

"Yep!" She says while running over to Cass, "Cassandra, did you see that? I told you I could handle myself."

Cass rolls her eyes, "Nice dance, Rapunzel"

"Uh, thanks?" Rapunzel replies confused.

"Not sure that routine will do much good against Wreck in the Dead Man's Circle."

You turn around to see wreck walking through the hammers all if them smashing as he walks past.

"But, hey, maybe you'll both get lucky again."

She walks away.

"That wasn't luck!!" You shout. "C'mon let's just get into line..."

"Challengers! Prepare for the next event!"

A few events have passed, slowly creeping up the scoreboard with Cass in fourth, you in third, Rapunzel in second and wreck in first.

"Do you even know the rules? Aren't shoes required for the Log Roll? And how old are you supposed to be to enter this competition!? Ugh, somebody check the Rulebook of the Brave!"

She shouts to the competitors, "Guys! Am I the only one that has a problem with this? The princess and the kid are making a mockery of this competition!"

Hook foot goes up to Cass, "Hey, it's okay, kid. When you're mad, dance! Give that smile a se..."

Cass interrupts him, "Oh, go eat a turkey leg, Hook!"

Cass walks over to you and Rapunzel annoyed, "Okay, listen, guys, this has gone far enough. Let's call it a day."

You walk over to her, "Ha-ha. I will call it a day... the day I won the championship."

Rapunzel shouts, "Boom! Trash talk!"

You giggle at her which makes Cass madder.

"Let's see where you two  land after the Dead Man's Circle." She gets into your face again.

"Yeah, okay, yeah. We'll totally see where we land after the Dead Man's Circle." You smirk.

Rapunzel cuts in, "And what is the Dead Man's Circle?"

She turns to look at Rapunzel,  "It's the final event. And believe me, your little dances won't save you this time."

You scoff, "You're just trying to keep your dignity because you can't handle a teen and a princess beating you!?"

"You're trying to prove to a kid that already respects you EVERYONE DOES!!" She shouts.

You scoff and walk away from her.

"Time for the final event! The Dead Man's Circle! Each warrior will battle to the finish, using the weapon of their choice!"

Leo flies over to you looking concerned. "Hey, buddy! Well... it's the Final event and I'm going to crush everyone I can!"

Wreck walks past Glaring, you smile sheepishly, "Or at least attempt too."

You put your sword with all the other weapons.

"What's a kid doing in the competition." Wreck growls.

You try to sound confident, "What are you doing talking to the kid in the competition. BOOM!" You flip your hair sassily and walk away.

You hear more growling, "Is there a dog in here?"

A gigantic shadow blocks the sun, you turn around to see wreck right behind you.

"Oh, it's you! I thought it was a dog growling!" You realise what you just said to his FACE. "I should really learn to shut up..."

He picks you up, "You better get take that back!"

"If I do will you put me down?" You smile sheepishly.

He throws you to the ground, "You better be ready for the final event because I'm going to crush the table scraps first!" He walks away.

"(__)! Are you okay!?" Rapunzel runs up to you.

You get up and brush yourself off, "Yeah I'm fine. Maybe I should learn to shut my mouth once in a while." You giggle.

"Well, good luck in the ring! And please make up with Cass... I know you two are like sisters but today has been so weird..." She walks away.

The competitors are now at the ring.

You take a deep breath and stance at the edge.

Rapunzel walks over to Cass, "Hey, I know today's been weird...
I just wanted to say good luck, I know you and (__) aren't exactly liking each other right now but she's still your friend, and the way you two act usually, friends is way too much of an understatement!" Rapunzel looks away.

"Raps, I just wanna..."

Cass gets interrupted, "It's now time for the no-holds-barred elimination round! Remember folks, once someone steps outside the ring, they are out! The last one standing is our champion!"

You frown but try to keep focused.

Cass looks over to you."(__)... I-"

Cass gets interrupted once again, "Are you ready for this? 'Cause, it's gonna get ugly in here."

"I can't look... why is she doing this?! I don't want her hurt in there can we stop her?" The hooded person freaks.

"She's just being (__), proving her point until she gets what she wants. Besides, I think she's got what it takes to be a true warrior..." Queen Ariana puts her hand on the hooded person for comfort.

"Ready! Set! Battle!"

You run to the middle and grab your sword.

Your fighting getting closer and closer to the edge. You back up till another back hits yours, Cass.

You turn around and so does Cass.

You get ready to battle her when she speaks up.

"(__) why are you doing this? You're going to get hurt!" Cass shouts while defending herself from you.

"Because I'm sick of being told I'm weaker than you and Eugene! If I do this then no-one will underestimate me again."

Cass thinks back to last week, "(__), Eugene and I have trained our whole lives, you've trained for two years!"

"I don't care once I beat you and everyone else then I won't be known as some kid!" You shout while still fighting her.

She knocks you to the ground, "(__) you've never been know as just some kid! you're not thinking straight! You're just losing your head!"

"Then I suppose I have nothing left to lose." You scowl.

Most people are out of the ring now the only people who are left is you Cass Rapunzel and Wreck.

You stand up and stop fighting Cass.

People start chanting Rapunzel's name which Cass gets angry by.

"That chirpy little hairball is mine!" Wreck shouts.

"Not if I get to her first!" Cass shoots Wrecks shirt to the pole trapping him.

"Hey, Wreck! Stick around." She smirks and walks over to Rapunzel.

After a minute Wreck manages to get free and goes towards Cass and Rapunzel.

Even if your upset with Cass right now you don't want her hurt, you would rather be hurt than Cassandra and Rapunzel so you decide to call him over and deal with him yourself.

"Hey! Wreck! Over here or are you too scared of a kid!" You mock him.

"I'm scared of NO ONE." He shouts.

"Oh really? Hmm. Interesting. So if you're not scared come and get me." You sneakily smile while holding your sword out.

He charges for you but every time he goes for you you take a step to the side.

"ENOUGH ALREADY!" He shouts.

While he's panting for breath you find some rope on the ground and tie his legs together without him knowing.

He trips and you burst out laughing.

"Um... Nah." You smirk.

"(__)! Look out!" Rapunzel shouts.

Wreck comes flying towards you but this time you weren't ready for it since you were laughing.

You tumble to the floor but manage to kick out causing him to fly straight of the ring.

The whistle blows twice. Your sight is a bit blurry but manage to see a figure in front of you, Cass walked out of the ring to help you up.

The whistle blows again.

"Cass... you walked out of the ring for me?" You smile.

"Of course I did, I wasn't going to let my little sis stay on the floor." She smiles.

"T-thanks... but this competition meant so much to you... I was just being petty." You sigh, "I'm sorry Cass... I could have proved I'm tough another way but instead, I got ahead of myself." You rub your arm.

"Hey, it's alright, We both got ahead of ourselves today." Shes hugs you. "Besides you throw a pretty good punch."

"GROUP HUGGG" Rapunzel shouts.

You look into the crowd to see everyone cheering for Rapunzel it was nice to see everyone cheering and clapping.

That's when someone caught your attention, Varian stood there in the front row staring at you with an emotionless face. He jumps into the arena still emotionless.

You stand there for a moment before running as fast as you can away from the arena away from everyone.

Cass and Rapunzel look at each other confused before looking even more confused when Varian runs after you.

You keep running till you get to some crates and make a little cave out of them and crawl in.

Your breathing pretty fast and your heart is racing, what is he going to say?

After a few minutes, Leo finds you and perches on your shoulder.

"You didn't show Varian where I am did you?" You ask still breathing pretty quick.

"He did." Varian standing there you stop breathing and quickly turn away from him.

"Now are you coming out or am I coming in?"

You don't answer but keep facing away from him.

He crawls in with Ruddiger on his shoulders.

A few minutes pass when Varian finally breaks the silence. "I've gotta admit (__) that was pretty stupid..." he tried his hardest not to blow at you.

"I-I just wanted to prove to you I'm stronger than Cass and Eugene... but I failed didn't I..." you sigh and a tear rolls down your face.

"No, I don't think you failed... you got the big man out of the arena even if you did you go out a second later, Plus you saw that he was going over to Cassandra and Rapunzel so you stopped him." He takes off his gloves and wipes the tears off your face.

"Well that's one way to put it... but I still lost, I guess I am a weakling. But I just wanted to prove to you I was stronger than you think."

"I already knew you were strong... you didn't need to go into a competition like that to prove to me..."

"You know you scared me while you were out there... especially in the last event. But the way you kicked the big man out was amazing!" Varian makes an explosion noise.

You try not to laugh at him being a dork but you can't help it.

"There, my (__) is back again." He smiles.

You take his hand and play with his fingers.

"I'm sorry Varian... but I was always here it's just your pretty intimidating sometimes."

"Me intimidating? Lady! You hang around with Ruffians and you have faced way bigger and powerful people  how can I be intimidating!?" He chuckles.

"Uh, I don't know... it's weird, but uh, we should get out of these crates before someone freaks seeing two kids underneath them."

You both have a laughing fit before crawling out from under the crates.

"Soo, where did that side of you come from anyway, attacking Cassandra like that," Varian asks.

"That wasn't me... That's starlight, (__) wouldn't attack her family like that." You giggle.

"Hey, (__) I have an idea. How about tomorrow we spend the whole day tomorrow with each other, just you and me." He grins.

"Only if you want too! Of course." He rubs the back of his neck.

"Yeah, I would like that." You blush.

"Great! I'll meet you tomorrow morning at the castle! But I better get back to old Corona before my dad wonders where I am... heh." He blushes.

"Alright V, I'll see you tomorrow."

You walk back to the castle getting ready for a perfect day tomorrow with you and your bestie.

Maybe everything is going to be alright after all.

Authors note!

So, as Varian said, you and him are going to have a nicer chapter tomorrow, mainly so I can get away from rewatching episodes, reading scripts for three/four hours and planning before actually writing anything on Wattpad.

Yeah, a lot goes into making chapters-

Anyway! This isn't going to be the surprise I have for everyone as that's coming after Great Expotations. This is just a cute idea in my head that would work for a chapter. So I hope your ready as you'll ever be because the Christmas chapters will be extremely important and cute for the storyline.
