Mark and Leilani waited at his mother's doorstep until his mother pulled the door open.

"Leilani, you came!"

"I came too Mom..!"

His mother laughed at her son's reaction while holding Leilani in her arms. "Come, I made some apple pie for you." Mina, his mother, took hold of her son's and Leilani's arm, dragging them both to her kitchen.

"I missed your apple pie!"

"I know you did!"

"Mom what about me!"

"What about you.."

Typical mother and son conversation between the two, causing a laugh to emit from Mark's mouth once he heard his mother's words. "I'm kidding! I bought you something— you as well Leilei." Mina said, walking towards her homemade apple pie, giving both the soon to be couple a slice each.

Mina gave the two a look, smiling at how close they seemed. "I assume you and your boyfriend are not together anymore?" she said, watching how Leilani nodded her head immediately. "Definitely not together anymore." she spoke sternly, confident in her response as Mark glanced at her.

"Can I ask why?" also taking a slice for herself while Mark gave his mother a look. "He was a cheater." Leilani said, not knowing how else to put it. "I hope his karma cause quickly because who would cheat on you— or cheat in general?" Mina scoffed.

"You better not." she pointed at Mark. "Seriously. I would never and you know that." he said in response, earning laughs from both girls. "I know! I know!" Mina gave Mark a light shove before averting her gaze towards Leilani who was smiling.

"I'm just glad to see you look happier." Mina said to the girl, watching her eyes widened shortly before they creased upwards, a few wrinkles besides the ends of her lashes. "Me too." Leilani said back to his mother.

"How's the pie?"

"It's so good!"

"Mid."

"Mark."

"It's fantastic, Mom."

Mark spoke in a sarcastic tone, yet telling the truth with only resulted in Leilani backing up Mina, telling Mark that he shouldn't be so rude to his mother. Earning laughs from the related. "Mrs. Lee, if he ever speaks to you like that ever again, tell me and I will smack him." Leilani said, pointing to Mark.

"It's okay, he would've already been smacked before you got the chance." Mina rose a hand towards her son, only for him to keep still and continue eating his slice of apple pie. "Oh! I'll be right back! Let me get your gifts!" before Mark could say anything, his mother dashed off to her room.

Leilani chuckled at the older woman, setting her plate to the side and leaning herself against Mark, laying her chin on his chest while pouting her lips so he could kiss her. Mark simply ignored her, acting like he didn't see her which only resulted in her rolling her eyes and kissing him anyways.

The twenty-three year old smiled in between the kiss, almost tasting the apple pie off her lips. Her arms snaked around his torso, pulling him closer to her until she gently pushed herself away from him. "You're so cute I just wanna throw a rock at you." Leilani said.

"Nani, what." Mark gave her a shocked expression. "Awe you haven't called me Nani is so long!" Leilani smiled widely, chuckling at the accidental slip up as he hid his face, looking off to the side. "Oh shut up, it just came to mind."

"I miss it though."

"Of course you do, I was the one who came up with it."

Mark gave her a knowing smirk, watching her roll her eyes before she went ahead and grabbed her plate, continuing to eat her apple pie as he copied her.

"Okay! I got them!" Mina said, walking back from her room with two bags in her hands. She handed one to Mark and the other to Leilani. They were small white bags to which Leilani thought could hold jewelry in them. They both glanced at each other before opening it and finding a small square shaped box.

"I made them by the way!"

She was right, it was a piece of jewelry. Matching bracelets in fact. Mina could see how the two smiled at the same time at the sight of the matching items. "This is so pretty! Thank you!" Leilani said, immediately going in for a hug with the older woman.

"Of course Leilei, anything for you!"

"Mom..this is actually so cute."

Mina chuckled at her son's reaction, pulling him into a hug as well. "I'm glad you two liked it." she said. "Now I kinda have to get to work now, I know you guys been here for a short time, but I don't mind you staying. Just lock the door when you leave." Mina said to the two.

"Don't worry, I will." Mark nodded his head. "Okay! It was nice seeing you again!" Mina said, hugging Leilani tightly before letting her go and reaching for her keys. "Bye mom." Mark gave his mother a wave goodbye as Leilani did the same.

"Bye!" Mina quickly left, closing the door behind her as Mark sighed. "What do you want to do, Do you want to stay here or..?" he asked Leilani. "Well let me put that bracelet on you first." she chuckled, taking the box in her hands, opening it and wrapping the jewelry around his wrist.

Mark kept his eyes on her, making her more nervous than she already was the second his mother left the house. Once she was done, his hand reached towards her face, pulling her close for a kiss before cupping her cheeks and pressing tiny pecks against her skin, causing the girl to giggle.

"Do you want to go to my room?"

"Oh scandalous."

Mark rolled his eyes, taking her by her hand either way as she followed after him with a smile plastered on her lips.
