My god. Steven and Jere have been singing "As The World Caves In" in the bathroom for the past 10 minutes now. Belly went down for a late night swim. She asked me if I wanted to come with but I declined staying in our shared room instead, scrolling through insta on my phone. After a while I got bored and decided to change into something nicer than my shorts and the tank top I was wearing. I overheard Jere and Steven talking about some bonfire that was later tonight, which I really wanted to go to. I go over to Belly's and I's dresser and look through it trying to find something that looks nice. Eventually, I settle on a nice light pink dress and pair it with my nike air forces.

I go downstairs out to the pool where Belly and apparently Conrad are hanging out. Belly is in the pool and Conrad is sitting on the side dangling his legs into the pool. I think I just ruined their moment.
"Hey Y/n, why are you wearing a dress?" Belly asks looking away from Conrad who's sitting by the edge of the pool.
"I overheard Steven and Jere talking about some bonfire that's happening tonight and decided I also wanted to go" I reply. At the end of my sentence I hear the door opening behind me with a click and out come Jere and Steven arguing about who's driving and what car they're gonna take.
"Come on, man. We're leaving. You ready?" Jere asks Conrad. I don't think they've noticed me so I ask.
"Hey, can Belly and I come too?"
"Uh, no." Steven answers quickly.
"What but why?" Belly questions.
"The moms are getting everything ready for your movie night." Jere responds looking over at me, just now taking in the dress I'm wearing. Maybe I should have put on something different I think to myself. Conrad gets up from the edge of the pool and they all leave Belly and I.
"Have fun with the mommmms!" Jeremiah yells while walking away. What the hell. Why couldn't we come with? So rude. I share a look with Belly.
"Let's just go inside." I say to her, while she gets out of the pool drying off with a towel.

When we get into the kitchen the moms are making brownies and our mom asks us to go put the DVD in.
"Uh, do we have to watch It Happened One Night? Can't we do something different?" Belly asks hesitantly.
"But we always watch It Happened One Night on the first night." Mom replies.
"Well, we could watch The Philadelphia Story instead." Susannah comments. I sigh looking at Belly and we share a glance. We both know that we would rather be at the bonfire. I feel kinda bad though, I know how much this means to Susannah.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, no I-I, we're just kind of tired, so I think we might skip the movie and go to bed." I say.
"Okay, hons, yeah sure. We can uh... do the brownies another night." Susannah says reassuringly. At that both Belly and I leave and go up to our shared room.

We're sitting on our bed and I ask Belly. "So, what was happening between you and Conrad down by the pool, I felt like I accidentally interrupted something." I ask, facing her. She smiles slowly.
"Yeah, I don't know... we were talking and it just felt different."
"Good different?" I question.
"Yeah I think so.."
"Hey, is it just me or is he acting different? Like he doesn't seem like his usual self?" I ask Belly.
"I know! I don't know if something has happened... he seems so moody and he'll barely talk to me the way we used to." Belly answers looking down at her hands. I grab one of them.
"Hey, Bells, I'm sure it has nothing to do with you. I'm sure he'll come around." I reassure her.
"Yeah, I hope so."
"Okay, but what are we gonna do about the fact that they left us here and went to the bonfire?" I ask frustrated. Belly frowns for a moment before answering.
"You know what, screw it let's go, we have nothing better to do."
"Really!? Okay, wait we need to find you something to wear!" I go over to the duffel bag that Belly still hasn't unpacked yet. I look around in it before pulling out a pink dress similar to the one I'm wearing.
"What about this?" I ask looking over to her who's still sitting in the bed.
"Y/n, no way! I'm not wearing that."
"What, but come on! Conrad is going to be there, don't you want him to see you in this dress?" I tease her.
"Ugh, okay fine give me that." she sighs as I hand over the dress to her and then goes into the bathroom to change. While she's doing that I look into the mirror fixing my hair and putting on some lipgloss. I guess I really had changed a lot since last summer. All my baby fat on my face had disappeared and I had gotten my braces off, and not to mention that fact that I actually had boobs now.
"Okay, I'm ready." Belly says. I turn around and wow she's so pretty. She's done a half up, half down hairstyle with braids in it and put on some jewelry. The dress compliments her body really nicely.
"Bells, you look so nice!" I compliment her.
"Really? Thank you, so do you. I bet Jeremiah isn't gonna be able to stop staring at you!"
"I don't know" I say smoothing down my dress. "He barley noticed me earlier down by the pool." I say frowning.
"Maybe he was just too caught up thinking about the bonfire." She reassures me.
"Yeah, maybe." I frown.
"Okay, now let's go!" Belly says dragging me down the stairs. We had to be really quiet since the moms were sitting watching TV in the living room. We safely made it out and had to walk all the way down the beach to where the bonfire was. Music could faintly be heard playing and the silhouette of teenagers could be seen dancing around the bonfire.
"You know what Belly, I think I changed my mind..." I say looking over at all the teenagers here, getting self conscious and hugging myself.
"What no! Come on, we walked the whole way here. It took us like forever!" She says lightly grabbing my arm and dragging towards the bonfire.
"Yo, gas station girls! Where are you guys coming from?" You've got to be kidding me. Not this guy again. I internally roll my eyes.
"Uh, another party" Belly replies smiling at the guy. Omg what is Belly doing?! We definitely haven't been at another party.
"Sweet, here one of you take my beer." He says handing his beer over to us.
"Woah, no, no, thanks, we're okay" I say. I try to pull Belly away but the guy won't leave us alone.
"So uh... you guys got any boyfriends at home?" He questions.
"Um.." Belly starts and that's when I notice Steven a few feet away and shout out his name. The one time we actually need his help.
"What are you guys doing here?!" He says coming over to us, panic taking over. "And, I'm sorry, Belly what are you wearing?" The gas station guy replies to Steven saying that he invited us here. "Who the fuck are you?" Gas station guy retorts looking at Steven.
"I'm their brother, they're both 15, you pedo" Steven replies angrily.
"We're almost 16." Both Belly and I say at the same time.
"My bad" the guy says walking away.
"Jesus Christ, Belly and Y/n" Steven groans exasperatedly.
"What are you doing?" Belly asks. Steven takes her arms pulling her to him and I just follow after them.
"Will you let go of me, please. You are embarrassing us." Belly whines.
"I'm embarrassing?" He remarks. "You're embarrassing."
"Why am I embarrassing?!"
"Quit embarrassing yourself."
"Are you kidding me?" I mutter to myself. Somehow Steven and Belly always end up fighting at the worst times.
"Stop it, Steven!" She says, which results in them starting to push each other and Belly landing in the sand.
"Oh my gosh, Belly are you okay?" I ask crouching down next to her.
"Yeah, yeah, Y/n, I'm fine." She says trying to get up.
"Belly?" Someone asks. I look over and it's Conrad sitting with some girl. A really pretty girl at that. Belly stands up and they start arguing. I look around trying to look for Jeremiah since I haven't seen him. I spot him on the other side, also with some girl. Oh. He looks over and notices me and smiles jogging over.
"Y/n! Belly! You guys are here, great we can all hang out, you guys!" He says acting just like a golden retriever, while slinging his arm around my shoulder.
"I'm about to take them home." Steven intervenes.
"What?"
"Yeah, we're leaving."
"Okay, Steven, chill out. Come on, go hang out with Shayla or something." Shayla? Who in the world is that?
"Let's go." A pretty brunette girl says from behind Steven. I'm guessing that's Shayla then.
"Fine, but just stay right here and you guys don't talk to anybody." Steven says strictly to both of us.
"Fuck you!" Belly says showing him the middle finger. Yeah, I really regret coming here.
"Hey, you guys, for one, I'm really happy you guys are here." Jere says smiling at both of us. Okay, scratch that I don't regret the fact that we came here. He glances at me a second longer than Belly and I think I blush at that, and look away.
"Jeremiah!" A girl shouts at him. He ignores her and leads us to a log to sit on. Belly looks kinda bored.
"Hey, guys I'm just gonna go look around a bit." She says to both of us.
"Yeah, okay Belly, but don't stray too far!" I say to her. She smiles and walks away which only leaves Jere and I.
"I'm actually really glad you're here Y/n/n." He says looking over at me. I smile staring back at him. A breeze blows by which makes the hairs on my arms stand up and I shiver.
"Hey, are you cold?" He asks me standing up to take off the blue hoodie he's wearing.
"No, no, Jere it's fine. It's my fault for deciding to wear a dress." I say. Too late he's already taken off the hoodie and he's handing it out to me. I look up at him and take it from him, our hands brushing each other's in the process.
"Thanks." I say smiling. I put the hoodie on and I can feel his eyes on me.
"No, problem" he says back. "For the record, I like that dress. Is it new? I've never seen you wear it before." He questions. I look down at it playing with the hem and then pulling the sleeves of his hoodie over my hands. I guess Belly was right, maybe he was just too caught up thinking about the bonfire earlier.
"Yeah it is" I say smiling looking into his eyes and he does the same. I wish I could stay in this moment forever, just staring into his gorgeous ocean blue eyes, but of course, someone had to ruin the moment. I hear fighting from behind us and I look over noticing it's Conrad and the gas station dude.
"Oh shit." I hear Jere mutter to himself. We both stand up abruptly and run over to where the commotion is coming from. Belly comes up right next to me and goes over trying to separate the fight.
"Guys, guys, guys, hey stop" She says trying to separate them. Instead of it working, it blows her a hit in the face and she lands once again in the sand, for the second time tonight.
"Belly, Jesus! Are you alright?" I ask while trying to help her up, some guy helping her as well. I look over and Jeremiah is trying to separate Conrad from the guy when all of a sudden I hear.
"Cops!" I stand up running away with Jere, and Belly with the guy that helped her get up.
โโโ โใโข *โยฐใ โยฐ โโโ
"Come on. Get in the car. Watch your head" Jere says leading Conrad into the back seat. I'm sitting in the front passenger side and I don't know where Belly is, which is making me worried.
"Legs, legs" Jere says, pushing Conrad's legs into the car.
"Yes, I know how to get into a car" Conrad mumbles situating himself in the back seat. Jeremiah closes the car door and sits down in the drivers seat. I look out of the window and I see Belly approaching with the same guy that helped her up earlier from when she got hit in the face.
"Belly" I say relieved.
"Let's go get in the car." Jere says from beside me.
"Cam, can give me a ride home. Right, Cam?" She questions looking over at him.
"Yes, that's no problem." He says looking over at us.
"Bells, I don't think it's such a good idea to get into a car with a guy you just met" I say concerned.
"I'm Cam. Cameron." The guy says extending his arm to me.
"Your name his Cam Cameron?" Jere asks chuckling.
"No, it's just Cam."
"Wait, I think I recognize you." I say looking closer at him.
"Yeah, yeah, 7th grade Latin convention. You're Belly's sister right, so you must be Y/n then?" He says looking at me.
"Yup, that's me." I say smiling at him.
"Yeah, so we're not total strangers then. Belly and Y/n know me." He says looking at Jeremiah.
"Okay, uh, that's cool but Belly get in the car. Laurel will kill me if I don't get you and Y/n home safely."
"Just get in the car, Belly." Conrad mutters softly in the backseat. Belly and Cam say bye to each other and talk about some whale internship that Cam has. I look over at them to see Belly kissing Cam softly. Woah, go Bells. She opens the backseat door and climbs in next to Conrad. I turn around in my chair and face her.
"So... Cam Cameron's cute." I tease her.
"Shut up Y/n!" She says while blushing. I turn back around in my seat and Jere starts the engine but abruptly stops.
"Fuck! Steven!" He shouts unbuckling his seat belt. "Watch Conrad, I'll be right back" he says to the both of us and runs out of the car to go look for our stupid brother. In the rearview mirror I see Conrad touching Belly's hair and murmuring something. I smile at their cute interaction but immediately get startled when someone knocks on the window.
"Have you guys been drinking?" A cop says to the three of us.
โโโ โใโข *โยฐใ โยฐ โโโ
"Officers, thank you. It won't happen again, I can promise you that much." Our mom says to the officers standing by the door. We're all standing in the hall guiltily looking at each other. Conrad's sitting on the bench and it looks like he's about to fall asleep at any moment. I stand next to Jere, leaning on him for comfort.
"Tell Mr. Fisher the chief wants to set up a tea time when he gets back in time." One of the cops say to my mom.
"Absolutely. Sorry again for all the trouble." She replies while leading the cops out the door. She turns back to us and it's written all over her face. She looks both mad and disappointed at us.
"How could you guys be so irresponsible?" She questions us in her motherly tone.
"Mom, it wasn't a big deal. All right? Seriously. The cops were just looking to break up the bonfire." Steven answers.
"Not a big deal?" She intervenes angrily.
"Yes."
"I would say getting picked up by the cops for underage drinking is a pretty big deal, Steven." She says strictly. Steven scoffs.
"W-were you guys smoking tonight?" Steven questions.
"What? Keep you voice down Susannah's asleep on the couch." Mom responds.
"Well, I wasn't yelling, y-you where..."
"Just so you know, Laurel, I-I didn't drink tonight. I was the DD, I swear." Jere interrupts.
"Yeah, mom I didn't drink, and I don't think Belly did either." I comment looking at her. She glances at me and then looks over to Conrad who's sitting on the bench.
"You're the oldest. What the hell has gotten into you? She frowns and then looks at Belly and I. "When did you guys leave the house without telling anybody? And what in the world are you guys wearing?" She asks facing Belly and I. I look down at my dress, I don't think it looks too bad I think to myself, however Belly's dress is a bit tight.
"It's Taylor's. And why are Y/n and I the only ones who aren't allowed to go out?" Belly asks our mom annoyed.
"It's not that you guys aren't allowed. It's that you guys should have told me where you were going." She instructs us in a parental tone. "And I mean, how did you guys even get there?" She says concerned.
"We walked." I say sheepishly.
"Jesus. You guys know better than to walk down the beach alone late at night!"
"Can you stop treating us like we're little kids?" Belly says getting enough of this.
"If you guys want to be treated like adults, you guys need to act like ones." She lectures us.
"Then maybe you guys should too." Conrad speaks up. There's a silence and then my mom sighs and starts again.
"I hope you realize this night could have ended a lot differently if your family wasn't your family." She says looking at Conrad and Jeremiah.
"We're sorry, Laur." Jere says softly clearly guilt written all over his face.
"Just. Go to bed guys." She sighs. All of us start moving up the stairs and I follow Belly up to our room. I slowly walk up next to Jere.
"Hey, do you want your hoodie back?" I ask him on my way to take it off.
"No, no, Y/n keep it. It looks good on you." He says a slow smirk forming on his face.
"Okay." I smile back. He goes into his room and Belly and I go into ours. We both change into our pjs but I keep Jere's hoodie on and climb into our bed.
"Well, that was one hell of a night." I say laughing looking over at Belly.
"Yeah, I guess it was, but I got to meet Cam." She says smiling.
"Oooooo, Cam Cameron has got your heart now." I tease her. "What happened with Conrad?"
"I don't know, he's with another girl and he's just so different this summer, so I wanted to try something new." She says.
"I understand." I say comforting.
"Wait who's hoodie is that?" Belly questions, just now noticing it.
"Jere's" I say blushing slightly.
"Oh my god, no way!" Belly replies excitedly.
"Yes, way." I smile and then snuggle myself into our bed thinking of the moments I shared with Jeremiah today. Jere has always been my
