🚧Deep Water, Darkness, Being Alone, Minor Injuries to Y/n, Fear, Kidnapping, Loss Of Hope🚧

"How is the descent going?" The speaker box behind you crackled to life, causing you to jump as everything was dead silent not a moment before. You let out a sigh as you leaned back "Calm. I should hit the bottom in no less than ten minutes." 

You went back to looking out the huge window with wide eyes, at this dept sunlight can't really breach the water. The reason it's called The Abyss or Abyssalpelagic Zone. It's dark and freezing so you dont see much, but things do live down here. This is why you are here, in a new HighTech submarine made specifically for the purpose of what you're doing now. Trying to get pictures and footage of the colossal squid! It's been your husband's passion project since you both graduated and he'd trust no one other than you to pilot it.

You shook with the small force of the sub landing on the sea floor. flipping the lights on you waited with batted breaths. You were a bit disappointed to only see sand and rocks. But you just landed you won't let that turn your mood to much.

"Well, what do you see Y/n?"

You stood from the chair and walked over to the speaker box, thankful the sub was withstanding the pressure well. "Nothing much. But I'll turn the outside cameras on, and we'll see." You had enough oxygens for two hours. So, you planned to stay down until you had only enough to get back up. 

"Ok, we'll be watching from the command center."  You heard a few voices speak behind him and smiled. A passion project turned a million-dollar expedition. Many wanted more knowledge of this squid and we're willing to shell out pretty pennies to be one of the first to know it. You walked back over and sat in the chair, watching the dark water. It was almost hypnotic really.

It was an accident that you fell asleep, very unprofessional and stupid but a mistake nonetheless. You jumped up from your seat when an alarm went off. The speaker box once again crackled to life "Was wondering when you'd join us again." You heard him let out a low chuckle, maybe that's why you were acting so unprofessional. You were working under your husband. "It's time to start coming up."

"Alright, I'll get started, did we get anything?" You inquired as you started pushing buttons on the control panel. It was quiet for a moment before "We caught some tentacles, but not much more. It was like the thing was avoiding our cameras. Maybe that means curious but cautious or even playful. We'll try again in a different area on a different date."

"Holy fuck." It was said under your breath, but the speakers must have caught it "What's wrong?" You stayed silent. Your eyes are wide and your jaw is open. You had finally looked out the windshield, and now you could feel your heart beating against your chest. A large green eye was staring back at you. It was mesmerizing, slowly you stood from the chair and pressed your hands against the glass to get closer. You could see your own reflection in its eye. You were shaking, it was beautiful. You'll definitely convince them to send you right back here. This is where the money shot is! 

It blinked and you jumped, in a flash it disappeared leaving the headlights to only aluminate the empty dark water once more. "Did- Did you guys see that!?" 

"Another tentacle, yeah. But you need to come up now Y/n."  

You couldn't believe they missed it! That would have been grand! You once more sat yourself down, firing up to life off. Only to tumble around the submarine like a loose eraser in a bookbag as something smacked the side sending it rolling like a bowling ball. You screamed until it stopped on its side. Groaning you could feel where you'd be bruised in the coming days.

"WHAT WAS THAT!? LOVE!? ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?"

"I'm...I'm fine. Something hit the sub." "Wha-" The speaker cut off, nothing but static was now coming through the machine You crawled over to the control panel only for your face to pale at all the warning lights. That's not good! You grabbed for anything to hold as something seemed to grab the sub and started lifting it up. You were now crying; confused, in pain, and frankly scared. Slowly the submarine moved but you couldn't open your eyes. Not until you felt it be placed down. Finally, you got the nerve to open them and found yourself to be in an underwater air bubble cave. 

Against your better judgment, you climbed up and opened the hatch. Taking in a gulp of air thankful to have it you looked around and froze. It was no squid, at least not really. It was a mermaid-like man, but instead of a pretty fishtail, he had yellow squid tentacles with what seemed to be green patches they almost looked bioluminescent. Wouldn't be shocking, most creatures of the deep are. He watched you with curiosity as you carefully stepped onto the cave floor "H-Hello...I hope you understand English. Can you carry my sub up to the surface?"

"No." The absolutely humungous thing spoke as one of his tentacles wrapped around your sub and smashed it like an empty pop can. You screamed out for him to stop but it was too late. "Why would you do that!?" He slowly got down until his chin was resting on the cave floor as he watched you "Im not lonely anymore."
