(Y/N)'s P.O.V

I could feel my face hurting from how much I was smiling. I ran my fingers over every surface I could, and I could actually feel it! Pulling out my phone, I almost dropped it when I saw myself staring back. I fully excepted to see the plain face of the MC looking at me, but dad had made me look like, well, me!

After rummaging around the drawers and finally finding the female uniform, I quickly dressed and ran out the door (with an already packed bag slung around my shoulders) with an apple in my mouth.

"Heeeeeeey!"

I whipped my head around to see Sayori running towards me.Β

'Jeez, dad! How much extra did you code this game?'Β I didn't have time to think anything else as Sayori came to a stop right in front of me. She was puffing slightly and her signature blazer was unbuttoned. Her strawberry coloured hair was sloppily brushed like she was in a rush. But overall, she was so much more adorable than any art could ever show.Β

'I don't know how you did this dad, but this is the best thing I have ever experienced'Β I thought, holding out a hand so Sayori could catch her breath.

She didn't notice at first, but when she did she gave me a grateful smile and took it.

"Haaahhh... haaahhh..."

"I overslept again!" Sayori exclaimed once she caught her breath. Just from her appearance, I could already guess. She hesitated before letting go of her hand. She straightened up and gave me a determined look.

" But I caught you this time!" I grinned. I couldn't help it, even knowing how she was truly feeling, I couldn't help by be affected so by her enthusiasm. I decided that I would follow the original storyline up until I got to the clubroom. Just for fun.

I focused for a minute to straighten my face, so I was showing more of a blank expression.

"Maybe, but that's only because I decided to stop and wait for you," I had to pretty much physically restrain myself from giving her all the head pats she deserved. Sayori gave me a fake hurt look, before giving me a pouty look. You know the one.

"Eeehhhhh, you say that like you were thinking about ignoring me. That's mean (Y/N)!" Inside I was silently gushing about how cute she was. I was slightly taller than her. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm probably almost taller than all of the girls. Maintaining my stoic expression, I responded.

"Well, if people stare at you for acting weird then I don't want them thinking we're a couple or something," Ok, maybe it wasn't the best idea to go with the original script. I felt a little bit of guilt when I saw hurt flash in Sayori's eyes.

She quickly composed herself.

"Fine, fine," she huffed, then gained a little cheeky smile

"But you did wait for me, after all! I guess you don't have it in you to be mean even if you want to~" Sayori finished her sentence in a sing-song voice. I let a genuine smile spread across my face. Not too big to seem weird, though.

"Whatever you say, Sayori..." I waved my hand dismissively which caused her to giggle. I couldn't help myself and gave in. I brought my hand up and gently pet her head a few times. Sayori squeaked, surprised, but she seemed happy at my action.

Her hair was soft. Really, really soft. I had to remind myself that I couldn't sit there for hours on end just giving Sayori head pats, even though that seemed really enticing at this point.

Sayori and I made our way to school, with Sayori happily talking on and on about random topics.

< < < 3rd Person POV With (Father's Name) > > >

(Father's name) smiled as he watched his daughter play around with the new VR set. You had started talking to Sayori, matching the original script perfectly due to the number of times you had played the game. He wouldn't be surprised if you could recite the entire game off by heart.

He felt glad that you were enjoying your time with the set so much. He had worked on it for roughly 4 years, and that was four years well spent to see you smile like that.

He was about to leave the room to talk to his wife about your new setup when an out of place smell entered his nose. It was faint at first, which caused him to pause, but then it became more potent.

Fire

Some of the electrical gear had over-heated, probably the old electrical outlet that was due to get replaced in a few days. You mustn't have realised it in your current state, which was concerning. (Father's name) rushed to the nearest fire alarm and pulled it.

Now you noticed. The loud blaring alarm immediately caught your attention. The room began to fill with smoke as the fire quickly grew out of control. The fact that the floor was carpet didn't help. The smoke made his vision hazy and light-headed. Using his shirt to cover his mouth and nose like a mask (Father's name) made his way over to you. Or he tried.

The fire had already spread to the point where he couldn't reach you. Meanwhile, you were having a difficult time trying to pry the headset off of your head, but with the VR hand gear, you simply couldn't get it off your head. You were panicking pretty badly, and what freaked you out more was the flashes of Sayori reaching towards you, looking extremely concerned, almost as if she knew what was happening to you in the real world.

Then the fire started crawling up your pants. You and your dad started freaking out even more. At this point, you had collapsed to the ground from pain with Sayori hugging you in the VR world, which would've made you panic if it weren't 't for the current situation. The door burst open and (Mother's name) burst through the door with a fire extinguisher and almost dropped it when she saw that you were now up to your waist in flames, now passed out from the pain.

In a desperate attempt to save their only child, (Father's name) ran to get the nearest fire extinguisher while your mum used the one she had to beat away the flames. Several others that worked in the building came rushing in with more fire extinguishers and fire blankets, helping your parents to push down the flames.

It took a while, no one was keeping track of time, but they had finally managed to put out the fire, though it was too late for you. Or, your body I guess. It was charred beyond belief, with various bits of metal, plastic and wire melted with your skin. Your mother let out a strangled gasp and started crying into your father's arms. The various employees who had known you since before you were walking all shared a solemn look, many of them crying.

Who could imagine that a perfectly fine day could've ended like this?
