As the Kocho family's yatch glided across the ocean, the girls had a blast admiring the view. Sunlight reflected onto the moving waters, accentuating the ripples with glittery effects. Seagulls flew alongside the watercraft, either trying to join in on the day's fun or guide them towards their destination like the north star. Under the safe protection of the opaque tent, Nakime squeezed lumps after lumps of sunscreen onto her palm, forcibly applying them onto Daki's unwilling body before coating her own exposed skin with the white mixture.
"Daki. Wear your sunhat." Nakime ordered, grabbing the girl's wrist and pulling her down onto the plush couch before yanking out an enormous straw hat, a blue ribbon tied around the perimeter where the hemisphere and flat surface met, adding colour to the otherwise dull accessory. Nakime ensured the top of Daki's head was nestled comfortably within the hat's hemisphere before letting the girl go wreck havoc.
"Remember to stay in the shade girls!" Kanae called out in a sweet and caring voice before turning to her younger sister. "Your friends are quite energetic." She said with a chuckle.
"They aren't exactly my friends... Nevermind as long as they're having fun." Shinobu murmured, not wanting to explain the complexity of her relationship with her rivals to her sister.
"Girls! We're almost there!" Kanae called out again. Everyone paused and turned to look out into the horizon. A small deserted island came into view, the land growing bigger like a microscope zooming in onto the specimen. The tiny land possessed a small biconcave beach and a dense forest backing up against the beach. The altitude of the surface gradually increases until a small cliff was formed on the right side of the island. Situated in the central island, a ginormous sheet of polyester covered a good quarter of the land and a portion of the vast ocean. Two metal poles buried themselves deep into the sand while the other two poles were fixated deep into the sea ground at the four corners of the square synthetic fabric.
The yacht slowed down into a decrescendo rhythm, stopping a couple metres away from the edge of the land ahead. Anchored securely into position, the sailor gave Kanae a nod of confirmation, signalling it was safe to swim over to shore.
"Alright ladies, let's make our way over right now!" Kanae exclaimed, making her way down to the first floor, near the back of the yacht. There, waiting patiently in the water was an inflatable rescue boat. The elongated watercraft was sturdy and waterproof due to the sea water resistant aluminum and glass reinforced plastic used to make the product. Inflated balloon-like structure surrounded the perimeter of the boat, effectively keeping water from seeping inside.
"I figured it'll be difficult to hold an umbrella while swimming towards the island, so I released the rescue boat for the two of you exclusively~" Kanae explained to Nakime and Daki. The older female gestured towards the floating vehicle, a staff present to shield the two girls from the sunlight. As the engine burst into life, everyone was transported to the sheltered area. After saying their thanks, the staff returned on deck and back to work.
"Go have fun guys!" Kanae said as she watched the youngsters immediately darting towards the water body. Mitsuri and Nezuko stayed near the dry land, crouching down and trying to find pretty seashells. Nakime, Daki, Kanao and (Y/N) claimed a water gun each and declared war upon each other, determined to soak each other in salt water playfully.
"Not gonna join them, Shinobu?" Kanae inquired, leaning towards her younger sister. Shinobu hesitated for a split second before speaking in a soft voice.
"I'm content watching from the sidelines. Besides..." She trailed off, her pupil darting towards the corner of her eye, making eye contact with Kanae. "I don't think I can enjoy myself knowing that you'll never be able to enjoy your own youth, sis."
