I felt someone shaking me from my actually pretty good sleep, and when I hardly opened my eyes I saw Louis standing in front of me. We were still in the bus, and when I looked forward I saw Zayn, Liam, Niall and Harry walking out of the bus, and it seemed like Louis was the one who decided to wake me up.
"Rise and shine, sleepy head!" He said in a sing-song voice, and I groaned. He laughed at me and pulled me by my hand, forcing me to stand up. While we were walking on the little path of the bus that was between the seats I noticed that I was almost as tall as Louis. He seemed short because he had a smaller frame, but he was two or three inches taller than me. I was used being taller than most people, but when I met the boys, I felt like I was short for the first time in my life. We climbed out of the bus and the rest of the boys were waiting for me and him outside. All of us walked up to our rooms and started packing up.
I was in a room with my mother, but since she was back in St. Asaph I was alone, but I had baggage like it was for for two, because I packed up almost my whole wardrobe. It took me around an hour of packing and running around the room, finding random stuff in weird places. The bathroom vanity was full of products that I didn't have time to organize, because I was always in a hurry. I grabbed them all and put them in the suitcase, deciding that I will organize everything when we're in the house. I grabbed all of my clothes, stuffing them in the second suitcase, then I took my shoes and put them in there, too. The boys didn't stop banging at my door, telling me to hurry up and they were doing it for around ten minutes. When I was finally ready I harshly opened my door to find Liam and Zayn in front of me.
"It was about time!" Liam exclaimed and I rolled my eyes. They maybe brought two T-shirts and one pair of jeans, but I brought two outfits for everyday, so one hour of packing up my things was actually very little time.
"I packed my whole wardrobe, so shut up." I said and they laughed. They maybe thought I was joking, but I wish I was. I had two suitcases that were as heavy as rocks, and I wasn't in the mood for laughing so I glared at them.
"Girls." They both said at the same time and I looked at them weirdly. They knew each other for two weeks and soon started acting like they knew each other for their whole life. It was easy for them, they were boys and had that bro bond, but it was harder for me to act the same way they did around each other, but that had to be fixed with time.
They noticed that I was struggling with the weight of the suitcases, and they offered me to carry them. In the beggining I refused, but after two minutes of walking my hands were throbbing. I gave up and gave a suitcase to each of the boys. Liam almost dropped it because he didn't expect it to be that heavy.
"Were you packing rocks all this time we were waiting for you?!" Zayn breathed out. I laughed shook my head no.
"I told you I packed my whole wardrobe. Plus my vanity." I said and they looked at me like I was crazy. Well, I was going to be filmed for the National Television, how did they expect me not to bring everything I owned? We walked outside to the parking lot and to the same bus that drove us here.
"Go inside, we're going to put the suitcases in the trunk." Zayn said.
"No, no, I'll put them, thank you for carrying them." I said, but Liam literally pushed me towards the bus.
"They're too heavy to lift, Cara, just go inside." They were treating me so well and carefully, it was unbelievable. They really were gentlemen, and I really appreciated that they understood that they had to treat me somewhat differently, because I was not a boy after all.
"Thank you, boys." I smiled at them, walking inside the bus. Niall, Harry and Louis were inside the bus, too. Louis and Niall were sitting next to each other on the left line of seats, and Harry was sitting alone beside them. They all looked at me with "It was about time!" type of face.
"Finally!" Louis said and threw his hands in the air.
"Oh, shut it." I rolled my eyes.
Harry, Niall and Louis laughed at my irritation and I plopped myself at the empty seat next to Harry. We all talked for a little bit and Zayn and Liam came after a few minutes, and sat in front of Niall and Louis.
"Are you ready to go?" The driver shouted to us. We all said yes and the bus started moving.
"So boys, how are we going to share the bedrooms?" Harry asked the boys. We had three bedrooms, it meant that one of them had to sleep on the couch. I thought about saying that I can take the couch, but I had to have a room for myself, because I had too many things with me.
"I'm going to share a bedroom with you, Harold, I hate sleeping on a couch." Louis said and Harry nodded.
"I like to sleep on a couch, so I'll take it." Zayn said. Who likes to sleep on a couch, what if it's small and tiny?
"So me and Niall will take the other bedroom." Liam said and we all nodded. We were set and done. We talked a bit more, and then Niall brought up the conversation about Twitter. I had Twitter, but didn't use it that often, I preferred Facebook. He told us that we had a lot of positive comments about us, so I decided to open my Twitter for the first time in a long time and see.
I didn't see what I expected though. I saw that some people were speculating that I was hooking up with at least one of the boys, or payed to be in the band just because I wanted attention or was boy crazy, and there were so many others about me having sex with the boys. I was only fifteen, did they missed that when they were watching? All of them were absolutely ridiculous and I couldn't believe how dumb these rumors were. I got a lot of hate for my appearance, too, saying that I looked like a giraffe because of my height. Others were saying that I was like a stick, because I didn't have boobs and booty. For some I was ugly and didn't deserve to be in a band with these gorgeous boys. I felt a knot in my stomach, and my eyes welled up a little, but I quickly remained calm, because I didn't want to overwhelm the boys with my problems.
But when I scrolled down a little bit, there were people that were supportive and kind. They were saying that I sounded really good with the boys, that X Factor became more interesting because of us, and some girls were saying that they wished they were as pretty as me. I felt bad for those girls, because I knew the exact feeling of wanting to be someone else, and I made it my goal to encourage them to like themselves more than me. But even though I tried to focus on the positive people, I couldn't help but let these hate comments get to me.
Especially the comments about my height and my weight. I struggled all my life with accepting that I am going to be taller and skinnier than everyone else. Even when I was in primary junior school the teachers had to ask my parents if I ate enough at home, like who does that? When I was in secondary school I started growing taller before everyone else, and everyone was making fun of me, calling me a "giraffe", and I had really tough time not letting it to hurt me. The next few years of secondary school the other kids started growning too, but none of them as tall as me, so I was still the tallest and the lankiest. The girls started growing boobs, curves and I didn't get any of that. Nothing. My mom kept telling me that after I get my period they would start growing, but they still haven't, and I had my period when I was thirteen, and now I was fifteen, with nothing in my bra. It was really hard accepting it, but I just had to suck it up and give attention to the more important things.
It was easy to say "don't let the hate get to you", but when you actually experience it it's a whole different story. I wished people would be more kind to each other, because you never know what the person in front of you is going through. The boys maybe saw the sudden change of my mood, and decided to step in.
"Don't let these comments get to you, Cara. We got a lot of hate, too." Harry said to me and showed me his phone. There were so many hate comments about him.
"Eww, fix your hair, dudee ๐คฎ๐คฎ"
"Why did you even audition, you can't sing ๐คฃ๐คฃ"
"I bet they are going to fuck this girl over ๐"
"You really can lose some weight, bud๐"
There were so many more, and I was sure the other boys had as many as me and Harry. Some people just didn't have other job, I guess.
"We just have to keep going, there is always going to be hate, but if we keep moving it would be left behind." Zayn said and all of us nodded. He was right, we had to keep moving, not caring what others thought about us. After a while of talking about the hate we got and how we should just ignore it, the bus stopped and the driver said that we were in front of the house.
We stood up from our seats and walked out of the bus, and in front of us was a semi-big house with two floors. It was a regular English looking house, and it was just for us for the rest of the show. I have never left St. Asaph for that long back then, so it felt surreal how fast my life was changing because of X Factor. The boys were maybe feeling the same way as me, because we all just stood there and stared at the house in disbelieve, too lost in our own thoughts to realize that the driver was waiting for us to grab our suitcases and go inside.
"Are you going to stand there and stare at the house or you will get your suitcases and let me leave on time?" The driver said in a humorous tone, and we all shook off of our trance, hurrying up to get our suitcases. I grabbed mine, but Liam and Harry were fast to grab them from my hands, making me walk faster to unlock the door and not make the boys wait in front of the house with all the heavy suitcases. Simon gave us the keys when he came at the rehearsals to tell us about the houses, and the boys gave the keys to me, because they thought that I wouldn't lose them. But what they didn't know was that I searched frantically for them at least three times this day.
I unlocked the door, and opened it, walking in first, all the boys walking in after me. The boys put down the suitcases and we started walking around, none of us saying a thing, because we all were in awe how pretty the house was. The house was just as nice inside as it was outside. The walls were peachy pink, there was a couch and four armchairs, a little fireplace in front of them. When we walked forward we saw the kitchen, it was in the left of the living room, also with peachy pink walls. A big sized fridge, a nice sink, bar plot, oven, and kabinets above the bar plot. Everything was so nice, and it was perfect for all six of us in size. We walked out of the kitchen to the staircase, and when we were at the second floor there were four doors, two at the right side of the floor, and two at the left. The bathroom was the second door at the left side, and the other three doors were the bedrooms.
"Oh, I want the bedroom next to the bathroom." I said to them and opened the door. There was a king sized bed and a normal sized wardrobe. A beautiful white vanity, and a white rug on the floor. The walls were in a warm shade of yellow, and the windows had two long white curtains covering them. Everything about the house was perfect.
"Okay, me and Liam will take the first on the other side then." Niall said, and the other one left was for Harry and Louis. We walked downstairs to grab our suitcases, this time Niall and Zayn carrying mine, and I was again left to just walk behind them. They left the suitcases on the ground in my room, and after I thanked them Niall went to his room to leave his suitcase, and Zayn walked downstairs to put his stuff in a closet that was in the living room.
I started to put together my room a bit after bit, and after around one hour everything was organized how I wanted it. I pulled the curtains to let the sunlight in, and then I went downstairs, because I heard the boys' voices. They were all sitting at the armchairs and at the couch, but I walked straight to the kitchen to see if we had something to eat for dinner. The fridge was completely empty, and it was 4 p.m., and we would all get hungry in no time, so I went to sit next to Niall on the couch.
"The fridge is empty, and we will all get hungry in the next hour or so, what do you guys offer to do?" I said, and the boys looked at me, a little taken aback at the mention of food. They probably didn't even think that we would havw to get dinner when we came. "Okay, whatever. We can order something tonight, and tomorrow we can go to the supermarket and buy something to cook for the rest of week. Sounds good?"
They nodded, and I pulled out my phone, searching for food places that offered delivery at home. Just before I opened my mouth to ask the boys what kind of food they wanted, there was a knock on the door. Harry stood up and opened the door, and after two exchanges of words, Simon walked in.
"Hey, guys!" He said and walked towards us. We said "hi" back. "I hope you like the place, the production gave everything in its power to make the houses the nicest they can be."
"It's perfect, Simon." Louis said and we all nodded. It really was perfect.
"I'm glad. Now, that's the camera you guys have to film the Video Diaries with." He placed a video camera on the little table that was in front of us. "You have to make the video this night, and when you go to rehearsals tomorrow just bring the camera and give it to one of the crew members, they will take care of it."
We all looked at each other with the same look on our faces. We were so screwed. We would be so awkward and strange.
"Why do you look scared, it's just a video where you talk about your week and you will answer some fans' questions from Twitter. Just be yourselves and don't think that much of it." Yeah, right, Simon, easy to say. "I'll go now, I'll see you tomorrow, guys."
We all said bye and after the door closed, Zayn grabbed the video camera from the table, examining it. He pressed some of the buttons, and then we heard the sound the cameras do when you start making a video. Zayn nodded to himself, and put the camera down.
"Well, let's make the video now and later we can order and eat." Louis said, and we all stood up.
"Where are we going to sit?" Liam asked and I looked around. The only way we all would be in frame was to sit on the staircase, but that way we didn't have a place to put the camera.
"The staircase is the only place we all can be in frame, but where can we place the camera?" I said. The boys started looking around to find something to put the camera on, and then Niall suddenly jolted forward and brought two chairs from the kitchen. It was too short when he put one chair, so he put the second one on top, and it was perfect.
"Alright, how are we going to sit?" Harry asked and we all shrugged our shoulders. I went and sat on the top stair, Zayn sat next to me. Then Niall and Louis sat on the stair below us and Harry and Liam were at the bottom.
"How should we start?" I asked.
"Well, "Hello, we are One Direction!" would work." Zayn said and we nodded.
"And after that?" Harry asked and I was the next one to respond.
"Maybe saying that we just moved to the house and that today was our first rehearsal for the Live Show."
They all nodded and it was silent for a bit.
"We can make it as an introduction to the video diaries, like, saying what are we going to do in them, not just start acting like idiots in the first one." Liam said.
"Yeah, that's good. So how about saying "Hello, we are One Direction" together, then Harry can say that we just moved in the house and we had our first rehearsal, then Liam can talk about how are we feeling, just make up something, then Niall and Louis can say what are we going to do in the Video Diaries, and then me and Zayn will say something for the final. Is that well?" I gave an idea. It was better to have an order of how are we going to talk, because if six of us started talking over each other we would have done the video for maybe five hours, and I was starting to get hungry, so the quicker we were, the better.
"It's perfect, let's get started. Lights, camera, action!" Harry yelled and pressed the button of the video camera. We all said "Hello, we are One Direction!" together and Harry was the first one to speak. Meanwhile I tried to smile and seem relaxed and cool in front of the camera.
"We just moved to a house together and... um..." He trailed off and stopped for a moment, glitching. We started laughing and I shook my head, smiling. It seemed like it would not work out like that so we all agreed to just talk how it comes at the moment.
"Hello, we are One Direction! Um.. and this is our Video Diary..." Louis started, and I could hear the small smile in his voice. I couldn't help but smile, too, and I felt a little bit more relaxed in front of the camera, because I sensed that the boys had fun and it was really contagious.
"Um, yeah, you can come back here every week to find out what have we been up to, how are we feeling and everything that's going on!" Harry said confident and excited at the same time.
"Yeah, what the curly one said.." Zayn said and I laughed loudly.
"So.. what was it for this week then? Um.. we moved in the house, which is very exciting, we all looked forward to it!" Liam started and I decided to peep up too.
"Yeah, it's really cool to move in and be together, we all get along great and it will be really fun living together!" The boys nodded and while I was talking Zayn wrapped his one hand around my shoulders and his other was on Louis' shoulder. I put mine on Niall's shoulder, too, and Louis put both of his hands on Liam and Harry.
"The house is pretty nice, too, me and Harry are sharing a room-"
"Me and Liam too-"
"I have a seperate bedroom, lucky me-"
"And I sleep on the couch." Zayn said at the end of our chain and we all laughed whole-heartedly.
"Yeah, and over all we are sharing a house with five of our best friends!" Harry said sweetly and me, Zayn and Niall said "aww" at the same time and hugged, while Louis squished his face with his hands.
"Awww, Harreeh!"
"With the five best friends.." Niall sang. Everything was so chaotic but so fun and cool at the same time, and I just knew that filming these Video Diaries would become one of my favorite things to do with the boys.
"Also, today was our first rehearsal..." I started the sentence and Liam peeped in.
"Yeah, we are practicing hard, right?" We all said yeah at different times.
"And we also really like the song, right guys?" Niall said.
"Really, really love the song!" Zayn added.
"Yeah, we start to prepare a lot right now and can't wait to go on stage and show everyone what we can do as a group!" Louis said and we all nodded, agreeing with him.
"Yeah, and we hope you guys like it, so..." Harry said and looked up at us not knowing
