Todoroki's P.O.V.

Edelweiss' hooves pound against the forest floor as we whiz by towering trees and scampering forest critters.

"Woah," I say, pulling a bit on the reins.

Edelweiss stops galloping and begins to calmly walk. I take out the canteen I brought with me, taking a small sip.

We continue maneuvering through the trees, switching between walking and a slow canter. This goes on for a few hours.

I'd taken a few breaks to drink some water and eat a small portion of food. I've stopped at small ponds to let Edelweiss drink and give him some apples I brought along with me.

The dark sky slowly begins to break with light as the sun rises. It won't take very long before my father sees I'm gone.

The guards won't search anywhere outside of the kingdom barriers unless they have special instruction too. My father would never grant them that. He's too selfish and cocky.

I trot along with a stoic expression, completely opposite of what I felt inside. I'm so excited and joyous! Finally free of my awful father and his expectations.

He can pick a new heir to the throne, but it sure won't be me! Any of my siblings would suffice.

The day continues to pass by, a chilly autumn air swirling around. One of the only pros of being a prince was wearing this super fancy and warm outfit. It was actually kinda nice.

I look ahead as we continue to cross the forest. A clearing comes into sight along with a small cottage tucked away between the forest and the clearing.

I slow Edelweiss down, making sure to make barely any noise.

Beyond the thinning line of trees stood a little elf. I couldn't see much of him, but he had curly green hair, his pointy ears barely showing and he was wearing a pair of white jeans with a pale blue shirt.

Who was he?

Over the shirt was a cream-colored cardigan. He seemed to only stand about 4'8. I guess that's typical for an elf, though.

He was holding a journal, focused on it as he moved his pencil around the paper. He would look up at the pond in front of him before looking back down to his journal.

I slowly dismount my horse, trying to hop off as quietly as possible. This guy could still be a threat and I had no idea who he was.

As I dismount Edelweiss, I land on a stick, breaking it in half with a snap. I cringe as the elf's head snaps toward me, him dropping the journal and pencil he was holding.

I draw my sword quickly in defense, grabbing Edelweiss' reins so he wouldn't run away.
