From the start, she had been trying her damn best not to blow up at him

Even when she'd played the first book for the first time in the game, she wanted to drop kick him into the sun everytime he said "rule"

Now, face to face with his pre-overblot self, that feeling had become even worse.

They stood at two different ends of a spectrum,

He believed no matter what the rule was, it should be followed...
She believed rules should only have to be followed if someone has gotteb extremely hurt from it. In other words, "Written in Blood or Tears"

But for all her efforts, still lost her temper as she watched things unfold.

"JUST BECAUSE YOUR MOTHER DIDN'T LET YOU HAVE A LIFE WHEN YOU WERE A KID DOESN'T MEAN YOU GET TO FUCK UP EVERYONE ELSES , ACE IS RIGHT, MAYBE IF YOU MANNED UP, YOU WOULDN'T HAVE LOST YOUR FREEDOM OVER A STUPID TART, AND STILL HAVE FRIENDS "

𝑶𝒉 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒕 , 𝑰 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐𝒐 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉

"How do you know ANY OF THAT?!?"

Not a word followed, and everyone had stopped moving entirely.

Ace and Deuce stood infront of her, blocking her from any attack the Tiny Rose might  launch in his fit of rage, while Grim anxiously kneaded his paws into her shoulder as he tried to speak up in her defense.

"HEY!  My Henchhuman doesn't need to answer to you-"

"SILENCE, YOU ACCURSED RODENT" 

As the Rose Tyrant began making his way across the garden , all in his path , other then her protecters , scrambled backwards, as if parting the seas for the newly lit flamethrower.

As the smell of smoke slowing began wafting in, she was slightly calmed by its aroma, until she remembered the fine lack of fire places or torches within the Rose Maze, and Heartstabyl as a whole.

𝑾𝒂𝒊𝒕...𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒐𝒌𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎?

Going on her tip-toes to see over her favorite card soldiers, she made direct eye-contact with the fuming Queen, his face now resembling a deep shade of Maroon, matching his rage.
As more and more smoke emitted from the grass below him, the students around began slowly making their escapes in different directions.

He was a ticking nuclear missile, and she and Ace had set the fuse in their own moments of rage.

Unluckily for her , that exact explosive was about to blow, and it was flying straight for her.

Perhaps stomping was a better word, considering if he could fly, she would have been turned to ash already.

"YOU!! ANSWER ME, HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?!??
NOBODY LEAVES UNTIL YOU CONFESS WHERE IT IS YOU LEARNED SUCH THINGS!!"

Beneath the Housewardens feet, a Flash fire began to spread across the Maze

As her loyal Ruby eyed companion gripped her wrist, and bolted for the exit , and the Sapphire haired Spade flanked them from behind. She couldn't help but feel both guilty and....

Absolutely Screwed

Because none of them knew their way around the maze, but he sure did.

Though he was short, it was only a matter of time before the Red Rose Tyrant caught up to Heartstabyls favorite Fugitives.

She stormed into the room, aware of the trap she had waltzed straight into, yet too furious to care about it.

"You mean this little nuisance?"

Leona lifted a small birdcage into the light , a sleeping Grim laid inside , slightly shaking in his slumber, no doubt having a dream he didn't like

"He's MY little nuisance, Asshole,
I know you used him to lure me here, so what do you want? "

Waving a small journal in the air, he slid it to her feet, feigning boredom as he did.

"This was quite the interesting read.
You seem to know quite alot more about certain people then anyone should be able to know, and Since your not in cahoots with Rook, I'd say its almost like you 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒚
That, or its just because you're alot smarter then those idiots you hang around"

"HEY!!"

"Heres the deal, Herbivore...If you want your little pet back.."

Slowly arising from where he had been laying , he  slowly approached , like a lion playing with its prey , exactly like that, to be precise.

"You're going to tell me Draconias weakness"

As he moved closer, she attempted to walk backwards, to no avail as the room began to feel smaller and smaller.

"Or you and your little cat will have a nice 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒎 stay at Savanaclaw."

𝑾𝒂𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒈 𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕? 𝑮𝒓𝒊𝒎 𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉!

When he stepped foward, and she stepped backward, like an odd game of chess.

"Wouldn't that just be a pain in the ass for you? I get using Grim as a motivator, but what value does my staying even have?"

"As if you haven't already figured it out?"

Leaping over a small rattan table, she scowled as she leaned against it.

"Let me guess: I know too much and I'd be useful for getting blackmail?"

She admittedly squeaked a bit when the table disappeared from below her, resulting in her stumbling backwards to make up the distance as he retorted.

"If you have that figured out, I'm guessing you know not going to win this, right?"

The course stone of the walls started to brush against her, leaving her to attempt at shuffling away enough to gain more space between them.

𝑰𝒎 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚.. 𝑺𝑯𝑰𝑻

Faking confidence as best she could. she pasted a cocky smirk to her face.

"Maybe not. But have you considered that gives me a prime way of annoying you 24/7?"

Stopping for a moment in seeming surprise at her stupidity, an eye roll to follow it up , The beastman leaned back with a distinctive lack of enthusiasm.

"Are you kidding me?"

"Nope. I'd annoy the shit out of you if I had to stay here."

"You really think I couldn't sleep through a little racket?"

"I've done theater for years. You underestimate how much noise can be made by a single person."

It was more than obvious Leona was catching on, or had caught on, to her various attempts at buying time, and was no longer having it, as he began moving faster than he had before, eyes sharpened as she scrambled, hoping to make it to the window, to no avail.

He had her practically cornered at this point,  in no way would she have the speed nor strength to get away fast enough. She was quite literally between a wall and a slightly homicidal lion.

"Stop wasting your breath and make a choice, herbivore."

Two different arms held hers firmly,lifting her small stature almost fully into the air ,leaving her practically only able to attempt to squirm in of the comstricting grasp whilst trying to find even a sliver of wiggle room, a consequence bringing endeavor on her part.

After the fight it took to even capture her, not to mention get her this far, it seemed the two no longer wanted to take chances.

The more composed of  the twins gave her a smile that was candy on the outside, but cyanide on the inside.
In short: the face of a complete liar

"Forgive me, this may hurt for just a moment."

A loud scream filled the hall as she was struck with a high voltage electric shock.

To describe the feeling, it was as if a million needles had been poked down her body whilst her bones themself were about to fall out, the pain of both sensations numbing her limbs as she barely clung to consciousness, too sapped of energy to even speak aloud and almost completely limp.

𝑮𝒐𝒅...𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒏 ..𝒊𝒕

Unfazed by the horrific display, still bearing his trademark sluggish smile , Floyd turned to his brother as if nothing happened , continuing their way to Octavielle

"Heeeyyy Jade, do you think Azul is gonna let us keep her around?"

Her eyes widened , still too weak to utter a word.

𝑬𝑿𝑪𝑼𝑺𝑬 𝑴𝑬??

"It is a possibility, considering the circumstances, However, should the issue will be resolved peacefully, Azul will find no reason to keep her in contract against her will"

𝑰𝑺 𝑯𝑬 𝑭𝑼𝑪𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑺𝑬𝑹𝑰𝑶𝑼𝑺 𝑹𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻 𝑵𝑶𝑾?!?

𝑺𝑬𝑩𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑹𝑬𝑱𝑬𝑪𝑻 𝑫𝑬𝑺𝑰𝑮𝑵 𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑨𝑺𝑺

"Awww man....."

At this point, they had almost reached the hall of mirrors when she regained enough energy to question them, her rage vocalized in between her  gritted teeth

"What happened to three days, huh?  Too lazy to wait for a single photo?" 

"Not at all,  Azul will discuss it with you once we arrive, which will be quite soon."

They'd somehow made it to the Hall of mirrors without a single soul, dead or alive, noticing them , given the time of night,  it wasn't all too surprising.

"In we go Yadokari-Chan!"

Deciding that trying anything at this point was worthless,  she simply resigned herself to her impending doom.

The normally bustling Monstro lounge was eerily quiet , the stools atop the counter, and the lights off, the only light source was the Aquariums soft blue light.

Only moments later , She was thrown inside the VIP room and placed on a plush blue chair , the door was quickly locked as the Tweels took their spots close behind her, to the left and right respectively.

"I see you've arrived safely."

At a large desk sat the cause of her current predicament, Octavielles Housewarden. Smirking with an aura of confidence , he was still putting on his usual act of a chivalric and "benevolent" persona , however, his gaze on her was far from kind.

If her body wasn't almost still completely limp, she would have jumped across the desk to slap the smirk off , and perhaps the glasses too, instead she had to consign herself to shaking with rage as she stated the obvious quite loudly yet as calmly as she could.

"Pardon my lack of etiquette, but I got fucking electrocuted and dragged here against my will. Thats a FAR stretch from safely!!"

Waving it off, as if his method of transportation was completely ethical and sane , the lavendette simply relaxed in his chair.

"My, you are much more confident when angry, but it was just precautionary measures, I assure you.
Now Jade, will you do the honors? "

"Of course.."

Taking a small bow, he procceeded to walk to her side. His single large hand covering most of her shoulder, gripping it with a more force then necessary, the implication a reminder of her current position.

"Could you look at me for just a moment?"

𝑾𝒂𝒊𝒕 , 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒆𝒚𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕

𝑵𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒚,  𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒚 𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉

"Yea, so you can force information out of me?

No offense Jade, but I'll have to pass."

"No offense taken."

Releasing his hand from her shoulder , he began returning to his spot across from Floyd

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒏'𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒚

Turning around to look at the twins,  she made the mistake of looking directly at Jade , the slightest bit of mischief in his smile.

"Shock the heart."

𝑰 𝑭𝑬𝑳𝑳 𝑭𝑶𝑹 𝑰𝑻

Floyd began laughing manically from his spot in the corner , holding his stomach with a slight bend.

"We got you good, didn't we Yadokari -chan!"

Approaching once more, Jade asked a simple question , knowing she would be forced to tell only the truth , her doom eminent because of that exact reason.

"How much do you know about the three of us, aside from anything we have directly told you?"

Biting her lip as hard as she could to stop from Immediately saying all she knew , trying to force herself to not say anything too descriptive for her own safety.

"Just enough to know how you three met , and a little bit about Azul befo-"

She bit her hand to stop herself from spouting anything more, drops of crimson trickled down her shaking arm as Azul shook his head in pretend disappointment.

"tsk tsk, Just as I suspected, this won't do at all...,
Allow me to strike a deal with you-"

𝑭𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊

"- I will release all of your friends and return their powers , no photo needed, if -"

𝑨𝒉 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒕 , 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒈𝒐

"You allow me to erase all knowledge you have of our pasts, mine in particular...aa well as inform me of how, and where, you managed to obtain this information. Do we have a Deal?"

Nervously shifting in her chair, eyes watching as he created a glimmering scroll from thin air. An Idea came to mind as she thought for a moment , then replied.

"And, what if I say no?"

Fury , anxiety and pride mixed itself into his face  at a rapid speed, his tone fully serious for the first time in the conversation, a dagger replacing the usual silver tongue of his as he slammed both fists on the oak desk, rattling all of the items adorning it.

"Then I will simply take your voice, and you will remain in Octavielle with no ability to call for help , until THAT KNOWLEDGE IS GONE"

The other three of the rooms inhabitants all stunned into silence at this outbreak.

Jade and Floyds faces would give away to any passerby that this was extremely out of character for their childhood companion, unheard of, even to them.

In that moment, she made a break for it , and managed to get out of the VIP room, soon to be pursued by the Trio.

Laughter and Music filled the beautiful Red and Gold table, different foods , Such as Baklava, Kahk , Umm Ali , Kebabs , Shakshuka and more, being passed around or stolen between friends.

The beaming marshmallow haired boy piled more on more dishes for her to try , while Grim was already feasting on a mountain of different foods, his expression making it seem as if he had reached eternal bliss.

Feeling a pair of eyes searing into her soul , she turned her head slightly to see Charcoal Grey's staring at her, without a doubt observing her actions.
Making sure not to make eye contact , she returned her focus to Kalim

"Oh yea, I almost forgot to ask!"

Wiping a couple crumbs off his cheek , the ruby eyed sunshine continued.

"How did you figure out how to snap me back from that weird mood thing?
I don't really remember much from up until when we landed on the ground , and we really took a tumble, huh? I've never rolled in the sand while holding on to someone, it was really fun!"

A Loud chuckle followed his statement, smiling with pure joy, causing a piece of her heart to sting at how dishonest she was being, even if It was to save him and Scarabia itself.

"I thought if I threw off your focus, or suprised you , it might clear your head a bit,
It was really a lucky guess, thats all."

Still stuffing his tiny mouth with food , Grim passed a small plate to her with a lacking of enthusiasm.

"The Snake guy asked me to give this to you,
Ill let you take the first bite, Henchhuman, but I call dibs if you don't finish it!"

Suspiously , she observed the item on the plate,
A small plate of 3 Small Ma'amoul cookies , perfectly shaped in a small triangular formation on the middle of the plate.

Kalim peeked over , noticing the date -filled dessert with glee.

"Ooh, those look great! If you don't finish them , can I have one too?"

From across the table , the gifter of said Dessert seemed to still have his focus on her , as if to say

"Will you risk letting those two get poisoned , or take the gamble yourself?"

It was at that moment Grim attempted to steal one of the treats.

𝑺𝑯𝑰𝑻

"GYAHH?"

In a frenzy , she had shoved all 3 of the pastries into her mouth , leaving Grim both stunned and pouting angrily at her rash action.

Across from her, Gold tinted lips formed a small victorious smirk, seeing the first part of his trap work out seamlessly.

Right then, she noticed something off about the desserts taste.

Grabbing Grim , she stood up and made an abrupt exit, dashing out the door with all the grace of a flying semi-truck.

"I just remembered something, I have to go!!"

Rushing down the hall as fast as humanly possible , she did her best to explain the situation to Grim, so he would atleast not hold a grudge for being dragged away from his free feast.

"So your saying that the Mammal-"

"It's Ma'amoul , Grim."
