Plopping down in the oddly plush desk seat,
she immediately laid her head down in an attempt to recover from life itself.
Why? Because all first years ingame, minus Ortho, were in the same class.
That wasn't supposed to happen, and she knew it too.
Epel and Jack should be in 1-B, and Sebek was
1-D or C or something.
But somehow, all 6 of the future gang were here, and she was fully prepared to dash out of the room in fear, nearly cowering in her hoodie.
Man, she had met Idia once and his habit rubbed off on her.
Speaking of the Ignihyde Housewarden, the blue tablet she had been attempting to hide her face behind glowed and vibrated, earning her a look from Ace, to whom she just glared at and opened the message.
Hadestown:
why did u do this to me
Me:
???
Hadestown:
Housewarden meeting bcs ur a new housewarden, crowass is making everyone b "physically present" (so fucking targeted) w/ our Vice Housewarden . Did u not know
Me:
I only knew about the meeting?? Wtf!?
I don't have a Vice?? Are you saying I have to go solo?! I might just hide somewhere and hope they don't find me
Hadestown
F, my Vice is a 2nd year named Autoni, was the last housewardens Vice so just didn't change it
I tried to hide 2 during my 1st meeting too btw, failed miserably, don't recommend it.
French psycho will find u.
Wish I could tracker chip the mf to avoid him.
Btw I apologize in advance bcs u have to join the housewarden + Vice housewarden gc and I'm supposed to add u rn.
Me:
Shit. Could you put me on ghost status until after the meeting.
Hadestown:
K
Btw theres an Ignihyde student in ur class that you can probs ask to b a stand in vice 4 u, since ur from a diff world he'll totally help u to learn more about u and ur world for some alchemist shit. Was bugging me about my hair 4 like hours
Vyr Ambrose or smth like that.
Brown hair, blue streak, has a raccoon familiar.
Me:
thanks.
I'll see you on the Social Anxiety Battlefield known as this meeting.
Hadestown:
I'm going to get KO'd so fast. Pick up my bones for me.
Me:
I gotchu u
Feeling a weight on her shoulder, Ace being the criminal behind it as he leaned over to look at her screen, his Riddle-gifted collar scratching her neck a bit.
"Who's Hadestown?"
"A friend, I guess."
"Whatever, can you look up the answer to this question?"
"I'm not helping you cheat."
"Are you seriously trying to get Ophelia to get the answer for you?"
"Why do you care? She has a fancy tablet, and was just texting some rando, Deuce.
Its not like she was doing anything important."
"That "Rando" is probably another Housewarden, idiot."
"Can you two can it?! The great Grim is tryin read!"
Groaning, she face-planted into Che'nyas fur for comfort. The fluffiness of his Cat-Form could hopefully absorb her pain.

As the second to last class before lunch finally let out, she was already ready to pass out.
Usually she wasn't a big fan of timeskips, but by whatever may be above she would absolutely love one right now. Just skip straight to lunch, then tart making, then bed, and deal with the rest tomorrow.
But alas, she was not that lucky.
Wandering the hallway, doing her best not to stray too far, she found a small couch two hallways down, with a large curved backboard, and almost collapsed on it, renaissance painting style, until she noticed there was a person already there.
And by "Until", in this context, it means right after she went to sit, only to accidentally bonk heads with the other person.
"Shit, my bad, sorry. I thought this couch was-"
"Its fine, I probably should of worked on this in my lab anyway, but I've been hoping to find someone, ok well, a few someones.
My names Vyr."
Finally registering the person in front of her, it took only a few seconds to realize his expertise was Alchemy.
Fluffy brown hair, with a single blue streak on the left, was topped with a pair of steampunk esc googles, different little attachments on the lenses poking out.
Eyes of Pale cornflower blue were framed with dark lashes, and freckles dashed across his face, along with a few tiny scars on well tanned skin.
His blue uniform suit jacket was partially hidden behind a small rusty brown lab apron, covered in soot and ash stains. A gigantic satchel, seemingly filled to the brim, hung off his shoulders casually, a medium sized raccoon happily climbing on.
The feeling of fur on her cheek confirmed that Che'nya was right there if anything went wrong, so she didn't have to worry too much.
Starting conversations with strangers was never her strong suit, but to kill time, she decided to give it a shot ,although she'd prefer to hide her voice, given it could be a huge clue to who she was, she had already spoken by accident, it wouldn't help much.
"Who are you looking for? Maybe I could help if I know what to look for."
"Heres the gist!"
It seemed she had triggered the "talking about hyperfixation" button, because a tablet of his own, aswell as a thick journal, were out almost instantly.
"I've heard there are alot of unique species here, with different traits, and characteristics. I'm from a really small village near Fleur City, but its in a totally different kingdom, country, whatever- called Sollune? You've probably never heard of it, but basically : I've never gotten to meet any phonetic humanoid species other than the average human!"
Pulling out a pencil, he began to scratch in notes and drawings hastily, like he needed to get it all out or his brain would explode.
"What I want to find out is how other humanoid species created similar things to eachother, and how they drastically changed over time, especially after the Seven.
For example, up until the Thorn Fairy, all records of Fae recorded stated it was extremely rare for a Fae to even reach an arms length long, but now they are some of the tallest creatures known in the world, some breaching over 200cm in human form alone.
Watching him scribbling something down, she continued listening, quite curious.
"The people I was hoping to catch and just ask a few questions were pretty varied, but all 4 of the the ones I really want to interview are housewardens."
"Which ones?"
"Let me see.."
Counting on his gloved finger, he listed them off
"Leona Kingscholar, Azul Ashengrotto, Malleus Draconia and the rumored new one, Ophelia, I think?"
Trying not to choke on air, Ophelia struggled to act as natural as possible while he rambled on, trying not to seem too obvious.
"Heres the thing, I heard she's from an entirely different world, some other dimension, you get the idea, right?
That means that everything we already know about the possibilities of other worlds could be flipped upside down and sideways just with her accounts alone! Isn't that awesome?!
Plus, if she's able to travel back and forth, maybe she can acquire ingredients and plants we've never seen before, and create millions of new potions, tools, everything! There might even be new formulas and devices we've never seen before! It could be one of the biggest break in the Alchemical field in 600 years, or maybe even the biggest break in history ! Just by talking with one person!"
As if sensing her anxiety, Che'nya moved from her shoulder to her lap, letting her scratch behind his ears to slightly destress.
"-From what I heard, she took down a huge monster with just a bag, and somehow already managed to be gifted a Fae-Charm in only 2 days of being here! They say she always has two cats, one is black and blue, and the other is striped pink and pur-"
Turning to look at her, then the hoodie string where the charm hung from, to the cat on her lap, two and two was put together.
"No way, are youโ?!"
Quickly re-adjusting her bag and allowing Che'nya to climb to her shoulder, she took off down the hall in a frenzy before he could finish his sentence, holding her hood close to keep it from flying off.
"Please don't tell anyone! Thanks, bye!"
"Wait!!"
Tripping on a what seemed like air, Vyr faceplanted right as he got up to follow her, his striped familiar hopping over to check on him, the raccoon settling by his shoulder as the brunette groaned and sat up.
"Todays really not my day, is it Onyx?"
Getting up fully to look at what had caused his fateful landing, the Fae Charm he had seen on the girl moments ago lied on the ground, only to begin floating off by itself in the exact direction she had gone.
And he had every intention to follow it.
Curiosity killed the cat, or in this case, the Alchemist.
"Nevermind, apparently, we might still have a chance to find her!"
The funny thing about running away in a panic is that sometimes, you don't exactly know where you are, so you don't know where the hell to go.
Usually, that does not end up accidentally trapping yourself in catacombs older then half your bloodline, but "Usual" seemed to be a borderline illegal notion at this school.
Running around aimlessly in the darkness, having sent Che'nya off to help Adeuce find her, Ophelia failed once again to find an exit, the severe lack of WIFI down here would make most highschoolers in her world freak.
Luckily, when you've lived in the woods without technology or a tent for a collective 8 months, and successfully survived and rescued your group members from being ground struck by lightning, one even flying into the campfire, and having the only other mobile person have to star map your way out...
Its slightly difficult to give a shit about WIFI in this scenario.
However, if the lights could turn on, that would be great.
Grazing her hand against another wall, she managed to find what felt like a pressure plate, and pushed her weight into it, praying for it to open an exit.
Instead, the second she heard the stone creak open, she was more or less instantly jumped by what felt like...vines? Almost completely incased, she felt a sharp tug pull her further into the room, although she could see even less with the fresh layer of darkness.

"Hm?"
The leafy chains of suffocation were finally unwrapped from her, her instable balance causing her to nearly plummet forward.

The only thing glowing in the room seemed to be the sharp pair of chartreuse eyes looking at her from above.
Unsettled by the silence, she decided to break it.
"Sorry if I disturbed you, I'm kinda.. lost."
"Lost?"
"Well, I got nervous in a conversation because someone figured out I was the new prefect, and I sorta ran off like an idiot, and somehow, I ended up in the catacombs. I was looking for an exit and thought the pressure thingy might be one."
"Considering the circumstances, I would presume most to be frightened at the moment."
"I recognize your voice, and last time we met,
you caught me when I fell during my whole orientation fiasco, so I'm a little less freaked out then I normally would be. I'm glad its you and not someone else,Tsunotarou."
A hazed silence found its way into the dark room.
"Tsuno..tarou?"
"You said to give you a name right? Its not all that creative, but Its the first thing I thought of, if thats ok..?"
Her boiling anxieties were cut short by what sounded like a scoff, but grew into joyous and amused laughter.
"It seems you truly know no fear, Child of Man."
Three small lamps in the room finally glowed alight, revealing the rooms contents:
Books and scrolls neatly placed, some thrown haphazardly, around a large velvet green sofa. Several grotesques were placed around the room, along with what seemed to be a few gargoyles that had been directly stolen from buildings, and she had a feeling it wasn't Malleus who stole them.
A wooden writing desk, with blank parchment and a raven feather quill stood patiently, waiting for use.
"Wow..this is alot cozier then I expected.
Wish I could stay here instead of go to the meeting after lunch.."
"Meeting?"
"Oh, right. I guess since I'm a brand new Housewarden, theres a Housewarden meeting about it.. or something? I heard the Vice Housewardens are supposed to go too, and that makes me all the more terrified, since I don't have a Vice Housewarden and-"

The faes expression soured, obviously having not been aware of the meeting beforehand.
"I wasn't aware that a meeting was taking place, none the less a ceremonial one."
"Are you a housewarden too? Maybe they just forgot to tell you. If you're a vice housewarden, maybe they thought you already knew."
Fishing out the backup slip of paper she had written the meeting details on incase she lost the first, Ophelia held it out to him.
"Here, this is the time and location its happening. This is my backup sheet, so you can keep that one just incase. You don't have to come if you don't want to, I can tell Crowley you're sick or something."
Plucking it gently from her hand, like it might shatter and vanish, he looked the paper over, as if making sure it wasn't a prank.
Before he could respond, a loud discourse came from beyond the hidden door.
"Hey, do you guys see anything?"
"Just nothing, followed by more nothing."
"HENCHHUMAN! Where are ya??"
"The charm is glowing over here, she's closeโ
Hey! I found something!"
Noticing the entrance begin to shake, signaling someones arrival, a quick wall of briar was put up to stop its movement momentarily
Now sharpened eyes on her, she turned to see Malleus, looking slightly disappointed and annoyed.
"They are searching for you, I presume?"
"Yeah..those are some of my friends and...Vyr. Would you like to meet them?"
A beat of silence passed, then another.
"Perhaps.. at a later date., I shall gladly accept your invitation to the ceremony, Farewell."
As he disappeared into shining lights, she was teleported outside of the secret room, and fell directly onto someone she couldn't see, and would later discover was Ace, who then dominoed onto Deuce, and Vyr barely dodged said human dominoing.
Grim and Onyx just watched and did exactly nothing, the former laughing until both Ace and Deuce knocked him down with them as revenge.
Che'nya, however, immediately jumped on Ophelia, she could see it in his eyes, even in this form, that he was making sure she hadn't been injured or cursed.
"Are you kidding?? This food is so fancy!"
The now 4 idiots, 2 cats and a trash panda had made their way to the cafeteria, which she had discovered was practically a warzone. and it was Every man for themselves.
The food was something you would see in a fancy hotel, a far stretch from her old boarding school.
"Ace,move over! Other people want cherries too!"
"Kiss my ass, Deuce. First come first serve.
How bout you get blueberries instead? They look like just like you."
"Hell no! I already got some!"
Keeping an eye on the tiny firebender was near hell however, because he was intent on trying everything in sight.
"Imma get all the grub I can! I wonder if they got luxury tuna!"
"Grim, just because Professor Crewel offered to wave our cafeteria expense's doesn't mean you can drive him into bankruptcy."
"Ain't he a professor and a fancy fashion designer or something? He's got the moolah."
The achievement of getting food without violence being involved was a miracle, the same went for finding somewhere to sit. Vyr, on her left, already had his notebook open, writing down who knows what, while Ace, on her right, was continually stealing blueberries off of Deuces plate.
"Hey, you're the trending freshies!"
The voice was just how she imagined it, something akin to a valley accent mixed with a concealed bit of country.
Flaming locks of bright auburn hair, ivory skin, and eyes of emerald green, it was him alright.
Emotionally, she wasn't prepared to deal with him.
At his side, slightly behind him, was the resident baker of Heartstabyl, and she immediately noticed a difference in his appearance compared to ingame.
He wasn't pale white like in the game, not at all.
His skin looked like fine velvet dark chocolate, and he was muscular from carrying bags of flour and large pastries. The caramel gold of his eyes contrasted his tones perfectly, although his hair still reminded her of mowed grass, just as it did ingame.
She might be demisexual, but she could say in the conventional sense, he was a 10/10 knockout on the beauty scale.
This difference made her look over, how hadn't she noticed before?
Deuces skin tone near matched her own, a light brown sugar color , with
