HEY HEY HEY Y'ALL! I have an important question for all of you!! As you know, Bokuto and Akaashi have quite the connection. That being said, I want you guys to help me with something.

Do you guys want them to be in a relationship (BokuAka) OR do you guys want them to have separate partners?

Time skip: Kaede and Rui’s 3rd year in college (both are 21 years old)

“So… when are you going to introduce me to your parents?” Rui asked his girlfriend of one year, “We’ve been dating for a year, and I still haven’t met your infamous siblings.”

Kaede sighed, “Soon,”

The truth was, Kaede was terrified of bringing Rui home. It wasn’t that she was embarrassed by introducing him to her family, but rather she was embarrassed to introduce her family to him. Rui came from a very rich, high-class family, though he never flaunted his wealth and acted more immaturely than his family wanted. In fact, Kaede had no idea his family status until her friends were freaking about about Rui talking to her and informed her about how high up int he ranks his family is. When the two started dating and the topic of meeting each other’s family came up, she was afraid that her family would make him feel a certain way since Rui was used to that prestige. His family background and status were also the reasons why Kaede rejected his advances numerous times. She never felt good enough for him and was worried he was only asking her as a joke. It took a lot of gentle persistence and reassurance from Rui’s end to get Kaede to finally accept him.

“Love?” Rui waved his hand over Kaede’s face, trying to get her attention back.

“Hmm?” Kaede looked at him.

Rui frowned. “What were you thinking about?”

Kaede blinked, “It’s nothing.”

Rui deadpanned, “Nothing my ass,” he huffed, “What’s wrong?”

Kaede bit her lip, “I know how much you want to meet my family… it’s just,” she treaded carefully, “I’m afraid you won’t feel comfortable with our living situation,”

It was then that Rui realized the reason for Kaede’s aversion, “If this is about your family status,” Rui carefully took Kaede’s hand, “You know I don’t care about that.”

Kaede’s heart fluttered at his gentle touch. “You say that, but I’ve met your family. I could see the indifference they had when you introduced me. Sure, they said they weren’t upset, but I could see that they weren’t fond of my middle-class background,”

Rui sighed, “If I had the same view that my family has, I wouldn’t have tried so hard to get you,” he reminded her, “You know that.”

Kaede stayed quiet.

Rui moved his hands and cupped her face, “Look, I won’t keep pushing if you truly aren’t ready,” he stroked her cheek with his thumb, “But know that I don’t care if your family is dirt poor or high class. I love you for you, and that means I’d love your family for them, nothing more.”

Kaede leaned into his hold, “I love you.”

Rui smiled and kissed her lips, “I love you more.”

“Hi mom,” Kaede answered the daily call from her mother, “How are you guys doing?”

Hiromi smiled on the other end, “We’re doing good, honey.” She placed her phone on speaker so she could continue folding the laundry. “Keiko’s asking if you’re going to come home for your spring break.”

“Am not!” Keiko said, embarrassed that her mother exposed her for missing her sister.

“Baah!” (F/n) wiggled her arms up and down in the carrier she was in, Kou laughing at her actions and his older sister’s embarrassed state.

“Yeah, I’ll be coming home,” Kaede said before she hesitated on continuing, “Um…”

Hiromi could feel her hesitance through the phone, “What’s wrong?”

Kaede swallowed before taking a deep breath, “I was wondering… Well, no, hold on,”

Keiko and Kou looked at one another. They were confused and concerned for their older sister since she’s never shown or acted hesitant before, at least, not in front of them.

“I’ve been dating someone for about a year now…. And I kept it private for a variety of reasons… And I was wondering if he could come with me back home so I can introduce you guys to him.”

Keiko’s and Kou’s jaws dropped upon hearing their sister’s statements. (F/n) placed her hand in her mouth, looking at her siblings in confusion.

“Of course you can!” Hiromi was happy for her eldest, “What meals does he like? So I can prepare them when you guys come over,”

Kaede sighed internally at that easy acceptance, “He really likes all forms of noodles. He’s also big on any salmon dishes.”

“Alright, I got it,” Hiromi said, “We’ll be looking forward to seeing you two in a couple of weeks.”

The corner of Kaede’s lips tugged upward, “Me too. I love you guys,”

“We love you too,” Hiromi replied.

“BAAH!” (F/n) yelled as loud as her baby voice could.

Kaede chuckled before hanging up the phone. She sighed in relief before dialing Rui’s number.

It only took one ring before Rui answered cheerfully, “Yes, my beautiful girlfriend?”

Kaede rolled her eyes. “Do you have plans for spring break?”

“Nope,” Rui replied.

“Do you want to come home with me and meet my family?” Kaede asked.

Rui’s jaw dropped. “Are you serious?”

Kaede huffed, “Yes,”

Rui cheered, “I’d love to!”

Kaede winced at the loudness of his voice on the phone.

“I’ll pack my bags right now-” Rui stated.

“Dude, spring break is in three weeks,” Kaede deadpanned, “You can calm down.”

Rui helped Kaede with her bags, refusing to let her carry anything. They were at the front door, and Kaede knocked. A couple of seconds went by before Keiko answered it.

“Ew, why are you here?” Keiko greeted.

Kaede rolled her eyes. “I thought you missed me,”

“Never,” Keiko puffed her cheeks out and crossed her arms.

Kaede grabbed her younger sister and pulled her into a hug.

Keiko acted tough for a bit before relaxing and hugging her back.

Rui watched the two and chuckled.

Keiko pulled away, “You must be her boyfriend.”

Rui nodded and extended his hand, “Takahashi Rui,” he introduced, “Nice to meet you.”

“Keiko,” Keiko extended her hand, and the two exchanged a handshake. “I heard you’re studying to be a math teacher. What’s your favorite form of math?”

“Statistics,” Rui answered, “I hate calculus.”

Keiko hummed, “Alright, you pass.” Keiko gestured them to come in, “Kou’s feeding (F/n) in the nursery,”

The two walk into the house and set the bags down while taking off their shoes.

Hiromi, who was in the kitchen, finished cooking and came out to greet the two.

“Welcome home!” Hiromi hugged her eldest, “I missed you! You’ve gotten skinny, have you been eating enough?”

“Nothing’s better than your food,” Kaede replied, earning an approving chuckle. Hiromi pulled away before turning her attention to Rui.

Rui bowed, “Hello,” he greeted.

Hiromi bowed back, “You must be Rui, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Rui nodded, “Likewise. Kaede has told me how your food is unmatched, and I’m excited to experience that.”

Hiromi chuckled, “You’re too kind. Kaede, why don’t you show Rui around?”

Kaede nodded, “Where’s dad?”

“He’ll be home a bit later, he was on call but got called in,” Hiromi explained before going back into the kitchen.

“Come on,” Kaede took his hand, “I’ll show you around the house.”

“And this is the nursery,” Kaede said, showing the final room. In it, Kou was burping (F/n) who finally finished her bottle.

Kou’s eyes lit up upon seeing his older sister, “Nee-san!”

(F/n) turned her head and happily cheered, “BAAH!”

Kaede giggled and walked over to the duo. She pulled Kou into a hug, (F/n) being in the middle of them.

“I missed you two,” she said, “My two babies.”

Kou huffed, “I’m not a baby,” he looked at (F/n), “But baby-owl is,”

(F/n) squirmed in Kou’s arms.

Kaede pulled away and gestured for Rui to come into the room.

“Kou, (F/n),” Kaede held Rui’s hand, “This is Rui, my boyfriend.”

Rui nodded at them, “Kaede said you’re a volleyball player,” he looked at Kou, “What position?”

“Ace!” Kou stated proudly.

Rui chuckled at the clear passion he had for the sport, even just talking about it.

“Hello there,” Rui turned his attention to her.

(F/n) blinked before putting her arms out, wanting to be held by him. Kou and Kaede looked at one another with shock. (F/n) was notorious for not wanting to be held by anyone but Kou. Rui looked at Kaede for permission, to which she nodded. Rui carefully took (F/n) from Kou’s arms and held her. (F/n) stared at him before placing her hands on his face.

“EH BAH!” she said loudly.

Rui chuckled, “Well, hi to you too.” Rui carefully took her hands off his face and turned to Kaede, “Is she always like this?”

Kaede shook her head.

“Usually, she cries whenever someone else holds her,” Kou explained.

“Huh,” Rui looked at (F/n) to which she smiled at him, “Looks like I already got her seal of approval,”

Kaede huffed, “Don’t flatter yourself just yet. We have the rest of our break to decide that,”

Long story short, the rest of the break, (F/n) clung onto Rui.

Time skip: Present time.

Kaede chuckled at the memories that flashed through her head. She stared at the test on the bathroom counter.

Positive

“He’s been wanting this for so long,” she whispered aloud, “I wonder how he’ll react.”

She hid the test before coming out of the bathroom. She walked into the kitchen and started making dinner so that Rui would come home to a lovely meal (and a special surprise).

“I’m home!” Rui greeted as he walked into their house.

“Welcome home!” Kaede said from the kitchen. Rui took off his shoes and loosened his tie before walking to the kitchen. He saw Kaede cooking by the stove and hugged her from behind once he got close to her.

“I missed you,” Rui said, kissing her temple.

“Did you now?” Kaede hummed.

“I always miss you,” Rui descended his kisses down to her neck, nuzzling his face, “You’re my wife, after all.”

Kaede shuddered, “How was work?”

“Good,” Rui unconsciously rubbed his thumbs against Kaede’s stomach, “The kids were rowdy as always,”

“Will you be teaching the same grade next year?” Kaede asked.

Rui shrugged, “I might move up to 8th grader, the 6th graders are going to give me gray hairs.”

Kaede chuckled, “Speaking of children,” she turned off the stove and turned around in his arms, “There’s something I need to tell you,”

Rui rested his hands on her hips, “There’s my lovely wife’s face,”

Kaede rolled her eyes. “I’m serious,”

Rui kissed her lips before nodding, “What’s up?”

Kaede took a deep breath, “So… you know how it’s been five years, right?”
Rui nodded.

“And you know how I said that around five years ago, I’m willing to have a child, right?” Kaede reminded him of the conversation they had.

Rui felt his heart race. “Yeah?”

Kaede stared into his eyes, hoping he’d get it.

Rui blinked before his brain finally connected the dots, “Wait… are you-”

Kaede nodded before pulling out the test from her pocket. Rui took the test before pulling Kaede into a hug, spinning her around.

“We’re going to have a baby!” Rui cheered, “Finally!”

Kaede hugged him tightly, “I’m sorry for making you wait so long.”

Rui set her down, “Don’t you ever apologize. I don’t care if I have to wait even more years, if it means having a child with you, I’d gladly do that,”

Kaede flushed at the statement.

“Does anyone else know?” Rui asked, his hand resting on her stomach.

Kaede shook her head, “No… I was hoping we could keep it a secret until the first ultrasound, where we can get the pictures.”

Rui nodded, “Of course.” Rui kissed Kaede passionately, “You have no idea how excited I am.”

Takumi and (F/n) were in the backyard of (F/n)’s house playing volleyball. It was a Saturday and one of the rare ones when Keiko, Hana, and Koutarou were home for the weekend. Koutarou was watching the two play, impressed by their skills.

“I didn’t know you could serve like that, baby-owl,” Koutaoru praised.

“I learned from the best,” (F/n) smiled at her older brother.

“Say, Takumi, I thought your brother was going to come over,” Koutarou said, looking at the younger Kuroo.

“He will,” Takumi confirmed, “I think he had a meeting during lunch, that’s why he’s running late.”

“Is Kaashi-owl coming?” (F/n) asked.

Koutarou nodded, “He’s at work, but he’ll be here for dinner.”

Takumi blinked, “I forgot why everyone is coming over.”

“Sissy-owl and Rui-nii have something to tell us,” (F/n) reminded him.

Koutarou hummed, “Do you guys have any guesses on what they might be telling us later?”

(F/n) thought about it before looking at Takumi. Takumi speculated before finally saying, “Maybe they’re having a baby?”

“A WHAT?!” both Koutarou and (F/n) exclaimed, neither of them thinking about what he had said.

Kaede and Rui arrived at the house and entered through the front door. (F/n) and Takumi were running around the living room, trying to catch one another. Koutarou, Akaashi, and Kuroo were watching them, wondering how they both still had a lot of energy after playing volleyball all afternoon.

The family did their usual greetings, and no one suspected anything except for Takumi and Keiko, who both placed bets on how the couple was going to announce that they were having a kid. After a cheerful dinner filled with catching up on each other's lives, it was finally time for Kaede and Rui’s announcement.

“I feel like most of you guys already know what I’m about to say,” Kaede stated, “but…”

Rui pulled out the many ultrasound pictures, “We’re going to have twins!”

The house erupted in cheers and tears.

“HA I KNEW IT!” both Keiko and Takumi stated with joy. Keiko looked at Hana, and Takumi looked at his older brother. Both had their hands out and waited before the two opened their wallets and handed them cash.

“I knew I shouldn’t have made the bet,” Hana and Testuroo muttered.

“This is why you don’t place bets with children.” Akaashi stated, “They know more than you think they know.”

(F/n) stared at her sister’s belly, wondering how it all worked. She furrowed her brows in thought. Rui caught on and gestured for her to come over. (F/n) walked up to him and her older sister. Takumi followed, not bearing to be apart from (F/n).

“How did the babies get inside?” (F/n) asked innocently.

All the adults coughed and laughed while Kaede flushed.

Rui gave a lopsided grin, “You’ll figure out the truth when you’re older. But know that the babies appeared and are growing inside her through love,”

(F/n) blinked, not buying what he was saying.

“Do you two want to feel her belly?” Rui asked.

(F/n) and Takumi looked at each other before nodding, “Can we?”

Kaede nodded and patted her bump. (F/n) and Takumi held their hands out and touched her belly. They could feel how hard it was.

“There are two?” (F/n) asked.

Kaede nodded, “Yep, two babies.”

(F/n) patted her belly lightly before asking, “When do they come out?”

Hiromi, Ronin, Kaede, and Keiko laughed at the question, all of them remembering when Koutarou asked the same one when (F/n) was inside Hiromi’s belly.

“Around seven more months,” Rui answered.

“SEVEN MONTHS?!”

Hiromi, Ronin, Kaede, and Keiko looked at Koutarou, knowing he must be feeling the most deja vu.

Koutarou chuckled, “She’s definitely my baby owl.”
