"That's the fifth time in a row! You're cheating aren't ya?"

The man you were gambling with moments ago in the Sky Casino started advancing towards you, getting ready to smash you face to smithereens. You merely sat in your chair with an unimpressed look on your face. You weren't actually cheating. I mean, you were just using your resources to your advantage, right?

I'm truth, you had an ability. It couldn't do much combat-wise, but it was a big help to you in the art of gambling. Your ability was called 'The All-Knowing'. Which allowed you to see the future. How far you want to see in the future depends on how much energy you put into your ability. For example, if you wanted to see an hour into the future, you wouldn't be able to do a lot of tasks that require a surplus amount of energy. Or if you wanted to see a decade in the future, you might as well call yourself a dead man. Thus, you never saw very far into the future. A few minutes to an hour or so at most.

"Do you have any evidence I'm cheating? Because if not, I believe that you are using force to get you money that you lost back to your person. And that's not fair to me, now is it?" You finished the last part with a smirk in your face, secretly grabbing small dagger that was hidden in your sleeve. Many a times have you been accused of cheating, this you were used to a gambler's violent behaviour.

"I don't need any evidence. It's clear as day! How is someone like you able to win that many times in a row?!"

"What do you mean, someone like me? I won because I was lucky and strategic enough to be the victor. You lost because you were stupid enough to go against someone that you had no chance of winning against. The price you pay is the hundreds of dollars you bet and lost."

You put your foot on his chest and kicked the man to the ground, leaving him with a terrified look on his face. You looked down at him with a menacing glare. You bent down to his level and held your dagger to his neck.

"So next time, I suggest you count your chances of winning against someone like me. Because I know someone like you, is not even within light years of being able to even be able to come close to being as good as me at the game of gambling. So scram."

The man scrambled to his feet and ran away to who knows where, leaving you satisfied with your newly won money. The dagger you once held now resides in your pant pocket.

"Hey!"

You heard from behind you. Turning around, you see a man in a tan overcoat with shaggy brown hair and bandages covering his arms and neck waking towards you. He had a rather joyful look on his face, though something in your gut told you his expression was just a mere facade.

"Yes?"

"Are you the one that's infamous for winning every gamble you've played here?" The man asked.

Arching a brow, you simply nodded. "I believe so. Unless there is another person here who I have not had the pleasure of meeting. But anyways, is there anything I can do for you?"

The brunette gave you a closed-eyes smile. "Yes! Actually, I was wondering if I could have the pleasure of having a gambling match with you. If you do not mind."

"Not at all."

You two sat down and set up your poker chips and cards.

(Disclaimer: I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PLAY POKER. THE ONLY GAMBLING I DO IS WITH GENSHIN IMPACT.)

You two wasted no time getting into the game. Poker chips and cards were passed around every so often. You used your ability only a few times to gauge how to play your cards. Images of the your match flashing in your mind, and nothing further than that. You felt this man in front of you had an interesting aura. One that you should be cautious around.

"Full House." The man said and laid his card on the table. You smirked an laid out your own cards. Each one the same as the one next to it.

"Royal flush." You stated.

The aura around the brunette man changed slightly. More... menacing or malicious. He held his hand out, being as cautious and paranoid as you were, you held out your own hand and shook his while trying to use your ability to know if this man was going to pull a move on you.

Your eyes widened.

'What's going on? Why can't I use my ability?'

"So you do have a way of winning all of your games. My guess is that you are an ability user?"

You quickly retracted your hand from his and took a step back from him, a block on your mind was released that you didn't even know was there.

"Judging from the look on your face, I'm assuming I'm correct. My next guess is that your ability gives you and insurmountable amount of luck, or you can see the future."

You froze, eyes still widened and arms held tightly by your side. He gave you a smile. A malicious smile.

"It was nice to meet you, (Y/N)." And with that, the man walked away, his figure soon was blocked by the crowd that gathered in the Sky Casino.

'I never told him my name! How does he know?'

You tried to chase the man, pushing people out of the way in hopes to find the mysterious man.

"Hello there." You heard from beside you.

"(Y/N). Am I correct?"

You turned to where the voice was coming from. It was another man. He had white clothing with dark black hair and a thick Russian accent.

"If your looking for Dazai, he's long gone by now."

'So that's his name.'

"Sigma and I have been observing you for a while now. It seems you possess the ability to win any match you desire. Am I wrong?" The strange man asks.

A wave of panic washes of you. You knew this man could not be trusted. You quickly pulled out your dagger from your pocket and took a fighting stance, hands shaking from the energy you lost while using your ability.

"What do you want from me? I have not been cheating, I have not been stealing, nor have I severely harmed anyone. So why are you observing me in such a manner?" You slightly raised your voice.

The man gave you a closed-eyed chuckle. "Don't worry. I am not looking to harm you. Quite the opposite actually. I am here to recruit you."

Getting out of your stance yet dagger still gripped tightly in your hand, you tilted your head in confusion. "Recruit? Recruit me to what, exactly?"

"It's a little group that we like to call the Decay of Angels."

You scoffed and rolled your eyes. "Ooh. Such a spooky name. I'm scared." You muttered with a sarcastic tone.

"I do appreciate if you would not mock us. We would have a place for you in our organisation. A place where you can put your ability to far more use than in this casino."

Your body stiffened for a moment.

'I never told him I had an ability.'

The man's face contorted into a smile when you assumed your fighting stance again.

"Surely you don't think one can win over 100 games in a row without some sort of help. Why, even I can't do that."

Your stance remained the same. No one in the crowd of people seemed to pay any mind to your conversation between the mysterious man.

"Ah! I nearly forgot to introduce myself. My name is Fyodor Dostoyevsky. I am a member of the Decay of Angels, as well as an ability user like yourself."

'So he's an ability user as well. It's strange that I've met so many people like me these past couple of years.'

"Sigma, the head of the Sky Casino is an ability user as well. I believe you two have conversed together briefly. As well as Nikolai. Though you have not met him, I highly doubt his name has not been spread among this place once or twice."

He was right. You had had a small conversation with the head of the Sky Casino. And the name Nikolai seemed vaguely familiar.

"They are both part of the Decay of Angels."

Your stance hindered, putting your finger to your chin in thought.

"Interesting."

Fyodor chuckled again. "So it seems."

"And you're sure I can use my ability in other ways?"

The man nodded.

"My safety is guaranteed?"

He nodded again.

"I can still play at the casino?"

He nodded once more.

"Well then, it looks like you have yourself a new member of your little cult."

He shook his head with a smile. "It is not a cult, but thank you for accepting my request. Welcome to the Decay of Angels. I look forward to working with you."

You stepped towards him, so close your faces were nearly touching. You smiled at him, making his slightly on guard and confused.

"I look forward to working with you as well, Feyda~"

You gave him a small kiss on the cheek, and walked away, leaving the man dumbfounded yet satisfied.
