The next day, Somi decided to go where she and Wooshin used to play. It's where they got married several times as kids and their childish games. It was quite a game. It always ends when they say 'I do'.

If only life was that easy. But no, it doesn't end in weddings. It's only the start of a life full of miseries. At least that's what the elders say.

Being alone makes her think of Seoul and Sohye. It just pisses her off.

Being away from her and the school makes her wonder why people fear Sohye. Was it because she calls them funny names? Or was it because she spills milk at them in front of the entire school population?

No, that's not all that Sohye is capable of. She can spread rumors and make everybody believe in them.

She took a rock, throwing into the lake, hoping that it'll be like throwing all her worries away.

To her surprise, another rock flew towards the water. "Mine was further than yours." this tall guy with messy hair told her on a sing song voice.

It was jersey number 25. "I'm Seongwoo by the way." he introduced himself, but Somi already knew him from the Basketball court yesterday.

"Jeon Somi." she shook his hands.

"I saw you yesterday. How do you know our dearest Samnie?" he asked, twinkling his eyes in aegyo.

Unbelievable! He looks even more perfect up close.

She opened her mouth but closed it again not knowing what to answer. "Did he mention someone special back in Seoul High?" she asked.

"Seoul High? Let me think." he looked up, thinking hard, then flinched as if he was hurt or something. Was he exaggerating? "Nope, just the jerks and bitches. I haven't heard him mention any Somi." he teased.

"I asked if he mentioned someone special, I'm not asking if he mentioned me." she corrected.

"But you did expect to hear your name did you?" he teasingly asked before chuckling. He might be good looking but he's annoying as fuck.

"Samuel had his heart broken in Seoul. I remember the first time I met him. He was so determined to change himself. He didn't want any traces of the Kim Samuel from the past, changing his clothes his hair his personality. Now he turned himself into an ass that nobody wants to be with." Seongwoo forced a smile, but his lips closed in a thin line looking more disappointed than the emotion he's trying to portray.

Somi lowered his head upon hearing it. She knew that it was her fault. Samuel probably still remember it. And that apology she did wasn't enough.

What was she thinking? Samuel can't just forgive her that easily.

"Nice talking to you, but my cousins might be burning the house down right now. Bye bye. Just don't think about it anymore. Don't think about Samuel the same way you did before. Don't try to satisfy him, and don't feel sorry about him anymore. Because if there's something he's thinking about right now, and worrying about is himself and nobody else. Please keep that in mind." he left a little bit of advice before leaving.

Somi was more confused than ever. Did Seongwoo come here purposely just to say that?

He's even holding a mug. Maybe he was here before her.

Somi closed her eyes, relaxing her knitted brows. 'Happy Thoughts' she kept reminding herself.

Then her phone vibrated.

It was the only person she can trust, and she's not even her friend. She's her worse enemy. At least she stabs her in front.

Park Soyeon: I heard you moved away. Who am I supposed to compete with now?

Somi sighed in frustration. She just went for a vacation and this is what happened. Rumors are already spreading that she moved away. Maybe it's better that way. What if she just move here?

Somi: So?

Park Soyeon: No biggie. Just want to let you know that they found your replacement. Sohye's cousin moved here you know. Her name is Kim Sejeong.

Somi: Good. Because I'll never be a part of that group again.

She replied before putting her phone on airplane mode.

This was supposed to be a vacation without worries. She's finally here, away from everything she hates.

But how did it get this twisted. The friends she treated her own sister abandoned her and even ruined her image. The worse enemy she has was the only person telling her the truth, and now, she's afraid to face her life.

Vacation, they don't last. They're temporary break. Before you know it, you're back in school facing all the hypocrites again.

She stood up and walked around the neighborhood, trying to find herself, more than anything else. This is where she grew up. If she can find her old self, this is the place.

Only problem is, her childhood friendβ€”Wooshin, was being awkward and her parents are not here. Nobody to remind her how she grew up and which activities often do.

She lost herself and became perfect friend suited to Sohye's taste, and it's sickening. She couldn't stand it. Few more steps, she kept reminding herself to think happy thoughts.

'Happy Thoughts'

"Happy Thoughts!" she accidentally said it out loud.

"Ohhh! Me!" this guy on the side putting up the 'Open' sign to the restaurant was raising his hands. It was Daniel. "I'm thinking happy thoughts. Do you have spare fairy dust?" he asked.

At first Somi was confused of what he's talking about. But then, she smiled when she realized he's making a Peter Pan joke.

At least it made her smile. This guy might appear like he's extremely dumb, but he's funny. And that smile is contagious.

"So, this must be your grandfather's Italian Restaurant." Somi guessed.

"This is it. Wanna eat breakfast here? All in the house." he offered, opening the door wide.

Who would say no to that?

The moment she entered, there's Bae Jinyoung wiping the tables. He's never looked this good before. At least the last time she checked he seem shy and zero confidence.

Now he's just doing his thing and he look really amazing in apron.

"Who's there?" Seongwoo asked.

"Somi." Daniel answered making Seongwoo's mood change. He's either glaring, or he's born with natural tantalizing eyes.

"With who?" Samuel from the kitchen asked.

Just hearing how excited he is, Somi wanted to believe that all her assumptions after her talk with Seongwoo this morning was just over thinking.

"None! She's alone." Seongwoo answered without any emotion.

The door harshly opened, interrupting them, and here comes the star of the show. The main event of the freak show.

"Youngmin?" Daniel was confused.

His mother called and told them that he won't make it this year. Why is he here? And he's more alive than ever.

"Dude!" Seongwoo welcomed him with a bro hug.

Out of curiosity, Samuel got out of the kitchen to see what the fuss is all about and he got shocked to see his most favorite cousin. "Oh my God! What happened?" he happier than ever.

"Dude! I was sent on a Youth Camp!" Youngmin complained, as they all laughed.

"No way!" they all said in unison.

"No shit! I couldn't last for a day. I left my stuff even my phone. All I have was my wallet but that didn't stop me from leaving that camp." he said sitting in front of Somi, pouring himself a glass of water.

Somi just sat there staring.

This guy is the superstar. People are looking forward for him this whole time.

Meeting him in person still doesn't make rumors clear. He can't be the culprit of that case.

"How about Kwon Hyeop?" Samuel asked.

"That dummie couldn't make it too?" he asked surprised. Right! He didn't hear the news because he was in this Youth Camp.

Samuel moved closer gesturing them all to come. They all formed a circle, as if Somi wasn't there.

"I've got an idea. How about Somi call his parents, pretend to be his classmate, and ask his parents where he is. Because nobody would suspect her." Samuel suggested, making Somi a part of this escape plan.

"Then we go there and sneak him out." he finished.

"Why Somi?" Seongwoo asked, still giving Somi this death glare.

"If one of us do it, they can tell. And once Hyeop is missing, we'll be the only suspect for this. They'll find him right away, and none of us will ever see each other again." Samuel explained.

"Here's Hyeop's parent's number, wanna be with us Somi?" Samuel asked. Who can resist those eyes?

Wait! Those eyes!

She paused for a second just to make their eye contact longer. She finally guessed it! That guy from the book sale. It's Samuel.

But what was he doing there?

Why didn't he mention it to her?

Something's fishy here. And Somi's about to find out. She have all summer to find out what's happening, and discover what kind of person he's become.

...

"Yeoboseyo."

"Good day eomeoni. I was just wondering why I can't contact Hyeop. He has some of my books." Somi came up with a good lie.

"Books? That's weird. The kid doesn't have books." Hyeop's mother forced a laugh. "My son don't even go to school that much. He keeps on sneaking to dance underground. Are you his girlfriend?" she asked, making Somi frozen.

"If you are. I'm sorry honey but I'm afraid I did what I had to do. He's in Mount Carmen. The security there is outstanding, you won't see him until summer is over. Maybe then, he's fixed." she said before hanging up.

"Mount Carmen? What is that?" Somi informed them. Samuel pinched her cheek.

"Nice job." he praised her with his smile, captivating her. Why can't she sense anything? He's clearly hiding something.

He faced Daniel now. "Been there before. Mount Carmen?" he asked. It's only Daniel who had been enrolled to different reforming schools.

Daniel flinched as if he was pinched on the sides or something. "That place is the worst. I remember one time I tried to sneak out and I was caught, they put me on this room where there's door on the right side, and activity sheets on the other side." he shared.

"Every time I go for the door, there's this loud banging noise that's louder than the thunder. But I kept going for the door. The next day, they let me face the same thing, but this time the drill was different, every time I go for the door, I get hit on the hands. I was crying, the whole summer long." Daniel was now emotional. His bright smile was gone.

"Fuck! I don't want Hyeop to go through that." Youngmin said, terrified of the story. But Daniel went through it, and it made him worse.

"There's only two ways out. The front door with all the security teams and camera, and at the back where the fresh fruits and vegetables are checked. Not much security but the chief cook who checks for the food." Daniel started drawing a map that looks better than a blueprint.

"The security room where all the monitors are in, is at the 3rd floor. I can just climb up while you guys sneak inside the kitchen. Don't worry about the footage, I'll take care of them. Don't worry about being loud and being seen. I'll get you all covered up." he reassured.

Somi raised a brow while watching them, with only one question in her head. "Do they really trust Daniel?"

"Youngmin pretend to enroll and get a hand of these admission books, find out Hyeop's room." Samuel gave the other instructions. "Jinyoung wait in the car. As soon as we get in, drive as fast as you can."

"Jihoon, if we don't get out in thirty minutes, get the pigeons." Samuel instructed, making the cute innocent buy nod. Somi wondered whether that's a code word for something.

Pigeons?

Because that doesn't make sense.

"Me! How about me?" Seongwoo asked, upset that he wasn't included.

"If we get caught." Samuel started. Seongwoo was already thinking of all the possibilities. Call back up? Rescue them? "You can say I told you so." Samuel finished making him frown.

"What would you contribute then?" Seongwoo challenged.

"I'll go to the broadcasting room to announce Hyeop to go to the kitchen. Just in case it works." he said.

And so they did. As soon as they came in on the back gate, Daniel started to climb walls with those long legs. "Damn, Daniel can parkour. Where did he learn that?" Somi asked, staring at him climb effortlessly.

"His mother enrolled her in this boot camp where they do military obstacle course early in the morning till night." Samuel informed before he pulled her and went to the kitchen.

They all came in as quiet as a cat, except for Jinyoung who's waiting in the car.

Samuel dragged Somi on the brodcasting room. "What's going on here?" the person in-charge asked in shock when she saw them. They can easily tell that she's a young nun.

Samuel smiled at her and her confused face softened. "I'm here for you." he said caressing her cheek. Somi was blank. Never in a million years did she expect Samuel to do those moves on a girl. She couldn't move.

"M-me?" she poor girl asked.

"Yes, I just couldn't believe such a pretty face is locked up in here. Do you know how much trouble I went through just to get here?" he asked, still looking at her in the eye.

"I-I'm confused. How did you know me?" she asked.

"I have a contact inside here. He's name is Kwon Hyeop. Do you know him?" he asked.

"Kwon Hyeop? He's on close watch. He can't send mail or go out of his room without the nurses watching him. His room is locked from the outside with a guard. How is he your contact?" she asked.

"How did you know this stuff?" Samuel asked.

"Because for the first time in history of Mount Carmen that someone was put on close watch, upon his parents' request. They sure don't trust their son." she remarked, but before she can even notice, Samuel isn't in front of her anymore.

He's currently placing a super glue on this antique cassette tape player. And now that she noticed, 'Gentle Mother' was no longer playing.

Samuel played this cassette he brought before pulling the knobs of the cassette player.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was blasting all the speakers all throughout the whole building.

"What have you done?" She asked trying to get the tape out without the eject button.

"Nice meeting you. Sorry it didn't work out between the two of us." he saluted on the young nun, grabbing Somi's hand before leaving.

Somi was still blank, being dragged without any complaints.

Who is this guy?

This isn't Kim Samuel.

They entered this room, going towards the window, but there's bars in them. "Shit!" he cursed.

"Where did Daniel say the security room is?" Samuel asked Somi but she's still absent minded. Samuel closed his eyes, recalling. "Third floor. Right." he said, dragging Somi once again.

He checked all the rooms on the third floor, as soon as he saw the sign 'Authorized Personnel Only' he barged in the room and saw Daniel having coffee, watching the monitors.

"What the fuck! You didn't bug the cameras. I should've asked Youngmin to do this." Samuel cursed in frustration.

Daniel stood up pointing the other side of the room, where there's piles of magnetic tapes, that are crushed and torn apart. This institution uses vintage stuff..

Old fashioned. Samuel thought.

"Even if we don't bug the system, they still don't have record of it. Without the tapes, you can't playback." Daniel smirked.

"That's advance thinking, but those are evidence. We'll get caught." Samuel told him, taking all the crushed parts into the trash bag, without a trace.

Damn, these kids knows how to clean up a mess.

"We have a little bit of situation. Hyeop is locked up with one guard. He's on close watch. The windows has bars in them. How do we sneak him out?" Samuel asked the evil genius who's already smiling.

"You distract his guard, and I pick the locks." Daniel instructed.

"Somi!" Samuel snapped his fingers to wake her up, handing her his cell. "Call Youngmin, ask him where Hyeop's room is." and she did.

"D-305." she said as soon as Youngmin told her.

"Tell Youngmin to leave the premises, and go to Jinyoung right away. Tell him to wait in the car." Samuel instructed, while drawing something on a paper.

"Daniel, let's meet here." he gave him the paper. "We can't escape as a group. Just take Hyeop, take Somi, and I'll distract the guards. Wait for my signal." he said before running outside the room.

Somi stared at Daniel searching every drawer for something. He was whistling like nothing is wrong here. Aside from the fact that they can be charged breaking and entering, they can also be charged for vandalism.

"Daniel, what are you looking for? Can you please hurry up?" she asked in panic. Her heart can just break her sternum from beating so fast and stronger than usual.

"I need some..." he turned around and saw Somi's hairpin. "Those." he pointed at them before taking them without permission.

Suddenly this song called 'Damn Regret' by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus started blasting on the speakers louder than a minute ago.

"That's the signal." Daniel muttered before dragging Somi with him. Somi noticed this guy with black uniform that has Security printed on the back of his uniform.

"What did you do to him?" Somi asked nervously.

"Sang him a lullaby." Daniel joked, or maybe it's a code for something. Whatever it is, Somi didn't wanna know.

D-305, no guards, just three huge padlocks.

Daniel calmly used those hairpins to unlock it. He was pretty damn fast.

Where did he learn these stuff?

"This isn't illegal, is it?" Somi asked, making Daniel laugh as if she was joking.

"Do you pick locks all the time?" she asked out of curiosity.

"Well, yeah. My mother always told me not to pick locks, but then again my mother's not here to tell me not to." he said excitedly unlocking all of it.

...
