The rebellion had fallen long ago. Their leader was captured and dragged through the streets in cuffs. Then their base was raided, a majority of them were captured and taken away to jail for 'rehabilitation' then the ones that struggled were killed. And those lucky few who escaped went into hiding underground.

You scooted closer to the wall when the door opened. And soon the grand ruler was standing before you, two guards behind him. He smiled as he squatted before you. Cupping your face "I missed you, Y/n."

"I miss the man you used to be, Hizashi."

He let you go and stood quickly "Dont we all." He left the room so his guards could unchain and grab you. Forcing you to walk behind him "Hey Zashi, if you're just gonna kill me can I have one last request?"

He stopped and turned, making the guards stop in their tracks "I don't see why not, let's say it's for old-time sake." 

 "Have dinner with me one last time?"

You sat cross-legged on the floor of your bedroom, folding laundry as you hummed a sweet toon for the sleeping baby in the bassinet beside you. When you heard the door open you turned to hush whoever had come in only to freeze. You never thought you'd see your old war buddies again, assuming they were all taken to the jails to either die a rebel or live a slave. But here were three of your closest comrades, rushing in and shutting the door behind them.

"Y/n, man are we glad to see you." 

"Yeah. We heard rumors that you were impressed in his manor but once you were taken we honestly all feared the worst. We were sure he was gonna kill you." 

"We've come to save you, but we need to hurry before they catch on."

Slowly you put Hizashi's shirt down and stood to fully face them. The green ankle-length dress Hizashi loved swayed as you moved. "Well thank you for being so concerned about me but, you should go. I don't need saving." 

They all looked at you with concern "Oh, do you already have a plan to escape- Are we getting in the way?" You shook your head "No. I just don't plan on 'escaping'." You held your hands up and made quotation marks as you said escape. "So your capture would be in vain." They looked at you as if you were crazy, as if you were speaking gibberish.

"He brainwashed her-"

"No. No brainwashing, or cleaning, or threats of violence. I don't wanna lead a rebellion anymore, I'm happy where I am." Their worry seemed to grow at that statement. One tried to reach out to you but you pulled back "Y/n, are you really telling us you'd rather kiss the feet of a monster than help the suffering people-?"

"Im saying I'm done! Im sorry people outside the manor are suffering but I can't help them! I don't want to help them! I like the life I have here! And I'm sorry that my happiness is others' pain but I have been selfless my whole life! It's my turn to be selfish! If they want help so bad they need to stand up and do it themselves for once!" 

Suddenly a loud cry wrung out and you quickly rushed to your baby, pulling her into your arms as you tried to soothe her with light rocking "I suggest you go, unless you wish to be captured." 

They gave you a look of disgust and betrayal before they left. After a few moments, you left the room yourself, making your way down the hallways with your now-sleeping baby. When you made it to Hizashi's office you opened the door to see him sitting in front of a book, when he noticed you he imminently smiled "What can I do for you love?"

"Just missed you." 

He pushed his chair back, opening his arms to you. And quickly you rushed to crawl into his lap. He planted a kiss on the top of your daughter's head before mimicking it on you as well "My favorite girls. I love you." 

"We love you too Hizashi."
