~~Chapter 26~~

Previously...

"For some reason, kids are still going missing. The thing is, Vanessa isn't under that... Entity's control anymore. So I'm trying to think."

"I'm tempted to go back just to see..."

"Kids, you know how dangerous that is."

"I can't wait for this to all finally be over."

Gregory POV

Once the elevator doors open, I look at [Y/N] with slight unease. I can tell by her look that she's feeling the same, then notice the slight shift in her expression as it changes to a small deadpan.

Softly I sigh, then take a few steps hesitantly out of the elevator door. Now that we're this close, I'm starting to feel like it's a bad idea. I mean, it very much is, but it's the only way I can think of in order to stop this madness. So I decide to instead be as brave as possible, and continue on, looking around the prize counter as I walk around.

"So, what's the plan?" I hear [Y/N]'s voice ring out from behind me. "Do we just... Wait here? I bet that'll take *ages* if we do." She adds.
"Well... I dunno, maybe she has access to cameras?" I reply, my tone sounding more like a question than a solid answer.

The girl shakes her head as I watch her from the corner of my eye and we continue around the area, looking at the place.

"It's nicer now, honestly." [Y/n] hums softly, as we've moved to the VIP area of the prize counter.
"Yeah, definitely. There's not as much construction anymore." I nod in agreement and place my hands into my pockets.

"Well well." A familiar voice sounds, however it's more... How do I put it... Glitchy, maybe? Distorted? "Back for some more, I see?"
"You!" I narrow my eyes, turning around, pulling [Y/n] behind me just a bit, though she holds the crowbar.
"Shit.... Do we actually have a plan?" [Y/n] whispers.
"No, not really...." I whisper back. She facepalms.

Vickie giggles, the sound being eerie and unsettling. "Well that's too bad. You're not going to have much time to think one up. I wanna make this quick. See, I have a nail appointment soon, so I'd like to not dilly dally." As she says that, she moves her arm that was behind her, showing a sharp knife.

"...Would this be considered murder if I killed her?" [Y/n] pipes up.
"I- Y/n-..!" I pull her out of the way of an attack from Vickie.
"This would be self defense!" [Y/n] replies, starting to run. I follow her.

"Greg, this was a shit idea! What happened to thinking before you act?!" [Y/n] hisses.

We run around, dodging attacks before quickly making it into the elevator. [Y/n] rapidly pushes the button and the doors close before Vickie could get us, though the woman somehow got a knife through the elevator door, which scared both of us.

Once the elevator started to move down, we both stared at the hole in the door where the knife was poking through, then we both look at each other.

"I thought you had a plan for how this was gonna happen?!" [Y/n] then speaks up, furrowing her eyebrows. "Who the hell runs into a place where they could so easily be killed to end something but not have a plan to end it?! Like, "Ohhh we're gonna go into this place, and die with no reason behind it!" Fucking idiot!"

"I have a somewhat formed plan!" I shoot back as the elevator dings and the doors open. We don't acknowledge the shadow covering us suddenly. "We freed Vanessa with the Princess Quest games, what if there's more games we gotta play to free her too?"

"And what if there isn't?" She crosses her arms, her irritation evident.

"I'll figure something out then." I sigh, feeling irritated myself. "Look, it was your idea to tag along with me. I don't know why you're on me about this when it was your choice to come with me--" I'm cut off by a giant claw landing between our faces. It's low enough me and [Y/n] can still make eye contact, but high enough we can only see each other's eyes.

"How's it goin' kids?"

I look over and see the green alligator, who's smirking at both of us. Me and him stare at each other before he swipes his claw at me and I duck somehow, and this happens for about three times before both of us are able to get out of the elevator, which now has multiple claw marks in it.

We both run and I pull out the old Fazerblaster I got, and tried it out. I hit it a couple times to see if it'd turn on.
"That's not gonna work on Monty, Greg!" [Y/n] reminds me.

I pause my movement, though still running.
"Shit." I mutter, then dive into a photo booth, taking the girl with me as I did.

I place my hand over her mouth so she wouldn't react loudly just in case. A second after landing, I take my hand off and look her over, leaning toward her a bit.
"You okay?" I ask in a quiet whisper, looking at her.
"Yeah. You?" [Y/n] replies, looking me over.
"Yes, all good." I nod. Then she sighs.
"Gregory, I'm getting on you because I care about you and your life." [Y/n] whispers quietly. "I don't want to die like this, and I don't want you to die in this. And now we don't have Freddy to help us get out... I'm scared, but I'm doing this because I know how dumb you can be."

I deadpan and look away, speaking in a sarcastic tone. "Gee. Thanks for the compliment."
[Y/n] places her warm hand on my cheek, turning my head to look at her and we make eye contact. "I'm worried for you, Gregory. I'd rather be here scared shitless then pacing back and forth at home while Freddy tries to take my mind off of you. You get it? Or do I have to say some other sappy stuff to get that through your skull?"

I feel my cheeks heat up as she talks and I laugh, making sure it's quiet. "No, I think I get it." I turn my head into her hand, placing mine on hers and give it a quick kiss, her cheeks turning a rosy pink as I do. "...What happened to bashing Monty in the head?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"I was terrified, okay?" She huffs quietly, looking away.
I hum and giggle quietly, bringing her hand down, though holding her hand in mine, interlacing our fingers. my hand moves to her chin, and I move her head to look at me. "Hey, eye contact is polite." I tease quietly.
She looks up at me and I slowly pull her face toward mine, my face heating up a bit more, followed by the red tint on hers growing before loud footsteps from outside makes us pause, which also makes me decide to not, so I let go of her hand and chin. "We should go once the footsteps are gone." I mutter. She nods her head in agreement.
