The days were slowly becoming warmer, signaling the approach of spring. Gyuvin felt like the whole world was blooming around him. But inside he wasnt sure if he was ready to bloom with it.
It had been nearly two months since their first kiss and although things were undeniable different between them, there was still a sense of uncertainty. They had never defined what they wereโno labels, n clear lines drawn between wha they were doing. It was just...happening.
They hadn't rushed into anything but there was a feeling of an invisible line they hadn't crossed yet.
One chilly afternoon, while they were sitting outside the campus cafรฉ, Gyuvin found himself looking at Ricky more than usual. The way Ricky was laughing with a few of their classmates, the way his eyes lit up when he spoke, made Gyuvin's heart feel like it was going to burst out of his chest.
But when Ricky caught his eye and smile softly, Gyuvin felt an unexpected pang of vulnerability. They had never talked about what they were.
As soon their classmates left, leaving them alone. Gyuvin decided to gulp down his fear and address their current situationship.
"Ricky," Gyuvin began, his voice quieter than usual. "Do you think...do you think we are doing this right?"
Ricky turned to him, his expression curious but not unkind. "Doing what right?"
Gyuvin hesitated, unsure how to phrase it. "This... us. Are we just two friends, or...is there something more?"
There was a brief pause before Ricky smiles.
"Well, that's an easy answer," he said with a laugh.
"There's definitely more."
Gyuvin's heart skipped a beat at the certainty in Ricky's voice. "You sure?"
Ricky nodded, leaning back in his chair with a relaxed air. "Yeah. I'm sure. We've been spending time together for months now. We kissed. We hang out. I think it's clear where we're at."
Gyuvin swallowed. "But we never really said anything about it."
Ricky reached over, his hand gently brushing against Gyuvin's. "You don't need to say anything if you don't want to. But I think it's pretty obvious. I'm not going anywhere, Gyuvin."
They didn't need labels, not if they didn't want them. They had each other an that was enough for now.
But as the afternoon dragged on, Gyuvin found himself more an s'more distant from the world around him. He sat in class, nodding absently as his professor explained complex theories, but his mind was far away, still on that moment with Ricky.
It wasn't like him to be so distracted, especially in the middle of a lecture. He had always been the kind to focus, to get things done besides his procrastinating habit, but today it was different. Today, the only thing on his mind was Rickyโtheir unspoken connection, the kiss they shared and the quiet promise in Ricky's words. But there was a weight to it now, and unsaid tension that sat heavily in the pit of his stomach.
His phone vibrated in his pocket and for a second, he thought it might be Ricky. But when he pulled it out it was just a notification for a test reminder. He sighed and shoved the phone back into his pocket. It was as if the world was taunting him, everything reminding him of the one thing he couldn't quiet figure out.
At lunch, he pushed food around his plate, barely tasting it, lost in thought. His friends chatted across the table, but he couldn't bring himself to join in. It was like he was trapped inside his own head, unable to escape the questions swirling around him.
Was he overthinking this? Was Ricky feeling the same way? Or was he just caught up in the moment?
He checked his phone again, heart racing for a split second. Nothing. He couldn't deny it anymoreโhe wanted more, but what if Ricky didn't?

Gyuvin had never been one to let his emotions get the best of him, but the longer this went on with Ricky, the more complicated thing seemed. They were in this grey spaceโtoo close to just be friends, but too hesitant to take the next step into something more.
The kiss they shared was tender, but they still hadn't a real conversation about what this relationship meant. What was it? Where was it headed?
One evening, when Gyuvin was finishing up his homework in his dorm room, he receives a text from Ricky:
Ricky
Can we talk?
His heart immediately raced at the simplicity of it? Talk about what? Was the first question in his mind, but he quickly typed back:
Me
Of course, what's up?
The reply came quickly:
Ricky
I'll be at the cafรฉ in 20 min. Can we meet?
Gyuvin felt his stomach flip, but he agreed, grabbing hi jacket and heading out the door.
When he arrived at the cafรฉ, Ricky was already there, sitting in the corner booth with a serious expression on his face.
Gyuvin took a seat across from him, his nerves tightening. "Hey, what's going on?"
Ricky sighed, running his hand through his hair. "I don't know. I've been thinking a lot lately and I don't want to..you know mess things up."
"Mess things up?" Gyuvin repeated, a frown forming. "What are you talking about?"
Ricky looked at him, his expression serious. "I just don't want to take this too fast, but I also don't want to wait forever to figure things out. I care about you, Gyuvin. A lot."
Gyuvin felt his heart race at Ricky's words. He wasn't sure how to respondโpart of him wanted to jump in, to say he felt the same way but another part of him was terrified of what that might mean.
"I care about you too," Gyuvin finally said, his voice soft. "But I don't want to rush anything either. I just want to.. take it slow, but also know where we stand."
Rick nodded, his eyes not leaving Gyuvin's. "I get that. I think we're both on th same page, but I just don't want to overthink it too much."
Gyuvin smiled softly, feeling a weight lift from his chest. "We're good then."
Ricky grinned, relived. "Yeah, we're good."

Taking things slow... i hope y'all find the pacing not to boring. I think in comparison to other slow-burn mines is pretty fast don't you think so to? Say yes.
