Omega's pov
So... Ahsoka might've stolen Tech's blaster. And she might've booked it down the ramp running away from him. And she might've shot and kidnapped Crosshair. Not like actual shoot shot, but like stun shot. Ahsoka and Tech have been in the medbay for over an hour with the kidnapped Crosshair. Everytime anyone tried to go in they were denied entrance by Tech. So now I was just standing outside at the door pacing. I don't know what's happening in there! For all we know someone could be getting a kriffing lobotomy done in there!
"Good news!" Tech burst through the door almost hitting me in the face.
"Ahsoka's baby is alive and well and I have the sonogram right here to prove it!" Everybody sighed with relief. That was certainly a main concern floating around in the air no one dared to bring up.
"What about Crosshair?" Wrecker asked. Anyone could tell that was more of a sensitive subject with Tecch but I guess Wrecker didn't pick up on that.
"Crosshair's situation is a tad bit more... complicated. Ahsoka was able to bring back our brother, but by the tume she did a piece of him had already been lost. Crosshair is suffering from severe post traumatic stress, or more commonly known as PTSD." Hunter sighed and hung his head low. A long silence overtook everybody as we processed this information.
"Well it could be worse, ri-"
"I'm not done yet. PTSD is not his only consequence. After the incident on Bracca we inflicted upon him the inhibitor chip went a step farther and fused itself to his mind. I had to physically open up his head and pry apart the chip from his physical brain. It was incredibly painful and if you heard the screams; that's why." Wow. My heart hurt. No one could hear the screams but I could sense them. Another thing that only added to my anxiety.
"Well at least he's-"
"Sorry Omega but I'm afraid the list is even longer. I put him on painkillers so the pain should be numb by now. He is also suffering from severe pain in his - area - because Ahsoka kicked him too hard in the- area. That's actually the main reason he's on painkillers. Aside from all of that, the main thing I want to stress to you is you don't have to fear him anymore. I think this while experience has changed him. For the better or worse, we'll find out soon enough. He is completely safe to be around now." Once Tech was finally done with hiw full report words could physically not be formed by me or anyone else in the room except Tech.
"Ya done?" Tech looked at me funny but nodded regardless.
"Why would you ask that?" He genuinely didn't know ghe answer and if it wasnt for what he said before, it would have been hilarious.
"Nevermind. Can we see them now?" Tech didn't seem so sure. He didn't give a vlear answer and he kept swaying his head to the side debating it.
"Crosshair is, how would you say, delusional." If I was drinking water, it would be sproutung out of my mouth like the kriffing fountain right now. Did Tech just call his own brother, the one he was crying over an hour ago delusional!?
"What!?"
"He's basically high right now on painkillers. Don't judge him." Then well all Oh'd and nodded like the basic people we are.
"But we can see him?" Tech started doing that kinda sorta maybe yes but no thing again. Rex groaned and shoved him to the side bursting through the doors. Everyone else b followed but I stayed behund ti help Techie up.
"Ah thank you Omega."
"Don't mention it. For my reward can I call you Techie-"
"No." He grabbed my shoulders and led me into the room. I don't like making him angry but it was just so easy to do. I chuckled all the way into the room as I heard the door swoosh shut behind me. The first thing I saw was- I'm sorry what now?
"Tech can I borrow your goggles?" He adjusted the goggles on his face qnd looked at me funny.
"What ever for?"
"I want to make sure I'm seeing this right." It was quite a shocking sight. Crosshsir was sitting in the middle of the room on his hospital bed luke a baby on his hands and kness with the biggest grin all while playing hot hands with Ahsoka who appeared equally as happy.
"Well he is..."
"High. I told you he was high. He'll be like this for another few hours until the painkillers and other meds ware off, fortunately." I looked at Tech amused when he said that last word. I suppose Tech has put up with Crosshair's dark and broody side for his whole life, I guess this would be a nice break for him.
"HA! Ooh me next Crossy!" I swear to the force, the unthinkable happened when Wrecker said that. Crosshair just giggled. Giggled!
"Sure thing bro." Bro!? I know he's 'high', whatever that means, but at this point it's like he's controlled by a slap happy inhibitor chip or something. Ahsoka laughed and got off the bed, one hand on her stomach. Everyone was busy laughing at silly Crosshair and Wrecker when he jumped on the bed and nearly broke it. Everyone except Rex and I.
"Alright. Now that the ardeniline from almost dying is over its time to clear the air on some things." I gasped alnost completely forgetting about everything that happened on Daro. What happened to Ahsoka and Hunger on Daro was all I could fhink aboug but I guess my mind was just used to seeing them okay so when I did see them again on Ka- the broken planet, my brain just kinda accepted it. Sorry words van be hard for me sometimes, I'm not sure if that made sense... and now I'm apologizing to myself. Good God make it stop.
"How are you and the child alive?" Was Rex's first question. Crosshair and Wrecker remauned completely oblivious to the deep wituation over here and hissed in joyful pain as they slapped each others hands. I umagune Crosshair would be in more pain though if he wasn't, Techie's words nit mine, high. Yeah still don't know what that means but I'm pretty sure it's not great.
"The baby saved itself." Was her simple explanation with a shrug as if it was no big deal. That one sentence caught everybody else's attention too, except Crosshair of course.
"The baby- you were saved by the- WHAT!?" Rex grabbed his head from both sides and loiked like he was about to decapitate himself.
"Rex calm down. I'm sure she'll elaborate more once we let her find the right words." Fives and Echo nodded and gave their Captain a side hug. I just went for it and hugged his whole waist which was sadly all I could reach.
"So basically, my baby is a force sensitive. I could feel her healing my wounds from the inside out. Tech says the baby was just barely an embryo so it was too small and unaffected by the blast that went through my stomach." Rex was looking at completely shocked, I was too.
"Oh is that all?" Fives joked but he got what was coming to him.
"No actually. First of all, I think the baby's gonna be a-"
"Girl." Rex stated for her. Honestly I was kinda hoping for a girl too. Sure you'd have to put up with their drama but at least little girls don't wreck everything they touch. And if someone thinks I'm discriminating, keep in mind I grew up with over 10 million little brothers when I was a littler kid.
"Force I hope so." Everyone agreed with eveeyone about that matter except Ahsoka who gave them a deadpan look.
"Uh... sure. Anyways, moving on please."
"Ooh have you thought of names yet?" I asked with sudden excitement coursing through my brain. Mostly because if she hasn't thought of names yet, I certainly have.
"Yes, actually as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I was thinking for a boy we could name him Aniko Plo Tano. And for the unlikely event it's a girl, we could name her... well I don't know because I haven't thought about it yet. But no matter what I want the middle name to be Plo after the man who saved me, Plo Koon." She explained, then she looked at me.
"I wish you could have met him." I gripped Ahsoka's right hand with both of mine.
"Tell me about him." She sighed with a soft smile on her face. We took a seat on the ground next to each other. Rex put his arms around us both as we sat and Ahsoka had my hand tighter, obviously appreciating the fact that I asked and was intrested.
"When I was three Master Plo was the one who rescued me from pirates and brought me to the jedi temple. At the tume the pirates were evil beings, but later on when I re-met them again Hondo was nicer and even helped me rescue some younglings once too. But master Plo was a kind man who helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. He never got all of the recognition he deserved, I feel like I owe him this." Rex sneaked up behind her and wrapped his arms loosely around her lekku. She chuckled and gripped his hands in hers. They were so cute togehter. He placed his head right in between her montrals and looked down at Ahsoka, she looked up at Rex.
"You don't owe anybody anything, cyare. It's your baby, you name it what you want." He whispered in her ear- I mean lekku. Tech taught us all togruta anatomy wo we don't make her feel bad. The lekku is her long blue and white head tails which seem to be changing color.
"Our baby. And trust me hun, I know everything you just told me. I just feel like it's what he deserves. I like to think that if he could see me know, he'd be happy and proud of how far I've come. Just like some others." Others? Surely she couldn't be talking about Mr. Skywalker. Who else was she friends with at the temple then?
"I'm sure General Kenobi was and still is very proud of you. Especially when Rex told me that you suffered through your personal drama with the jedi order to help save Mandalore. Um sure he of all peiple appreciated that." Fives came up behind Rex and stretched his arms over Rex to Ahsoka and patted them both softly. Little weird, but okay. Ahsoka grabbed me and yanked me toward them, rifflung my hair once I was sucked into the long group hug.
"Hey why didn't anyone bring me into the- ah nevermind." Ahsoka used the force to lift Echo in the air like a baby being rocked back and forth. He just floated above everyone with a frown on his face.
"Yeah... this isn't exactly what I had in mind." I pulled him back down to Earth. He hugged Fives and Rex from behind too. It was a nice peaceful moment yntil a loud slap could be heard whoch almost made Tech's dramatic gasp inaudible, almost.
"What's wrong Tech?" I asked he just kept muttering the word no and pacing back un forth never taking his eyes off Wrecker and Crosshair.
"Tech what's up?" Hunter asked him a little more forcefully. Unfortunately we had to leave our group hug position for now. We started approaching Tech slowly and carefully.
"No no no no no no no..." he never even acknowledged our line of questioning. I hopled over the bed behund Vrosshair and jumped up to touch the paving man on his shoulder. Tech flunched and backed away
"Tech what did you fo know?"
"No no no no- OW!!!" So... Ahsoka might have smacked him qcross the face. Not in a playful way. But whatever ay least he stopped mumbling no no no.
"What!?" Ahsoka screamed in his face. Well, no matter how many meds you feed a pregnant woman, according to Tech nothing can control their mood swings and emotions. Which unbeknownst to me at the time, was the cause for Tech's 'no'ing.
"I made Crosshair high!" What?
"Care to explain?" Hufner asked, his sweet fstherly tone gone. Now his no crap-taking Sargeant voice was on.
"I gave him the wrong amount of painkiller liquid injection! I was supposed to give him three teaspoons, I gave him three tablespoons! This male is only high because I gave him an overdose!" What the kriffety kriff does that mean? Is an ovwrdose like when someone's too happy? Because I overdose too though Tech's shouting it like its a bad thing...?
"Well now ya sceewed up!" Wrecker exclaimed and threw his arms in the air. All eyes wete on Tech so no one but me noticed when Wrecker leaned over to me and asked,
"What's an overdose?" I simply shrugged and scooted onto the stupidly small bed with him.
"Just as clueless as you are on that one Wreck." He looked at me fynny for a second but laughed my silly nickname off. While he was distracted the 'overdose' Crosshair took this as an opportunity and slapped his hands so hard you could hear it from Anidaland. He chcukled evily at his victory since he was losing pathetically before now.
"Ha! I finally got one!"
"Yeah, one. Out of 28."
"Still counts!" I think everybody rolled their eyes at that except me, I was laughing my ass off. See these are the stupidly fun shenanigans I missed!
"Yeah whatever Crosshair. It's good to have your idiot self back. Well, kind of." I jumped off the bed and into Ahsoka's arms when I heard Crosshair giggle. Giggle!
"Omega you okay?" Rex asked beside Ahsoka.
"I don't care how 'overdose' Crosshair is right now. Ceosshair. Doesn't. Giggle. Is this man healthy?" Laughter filled the room but I was dead serious.
"Yes the effect of his overdose will ware off in a few hours. Untul then we have to make sure Crosshair doesn't-"
"No Crossy put that down!" Wrecker shouted and slapped the sharp tool to preform lobotomy's on people out of Crosshair's shaky hands.
"Doesn't kill himself." Tech finished. Yeah that might be more of a challenge than he thinks, especially since Crosshair just dived to pick up the brain destroying power tool again.
"Oh boy. He's back at it again." Echo muttered as avrosshair touched the pokey side of the tool and immediately started crying.
"Quick get this on recording." Fives whispered to his arc twin but I heard too. Then I elbowed Fives which caused him to elbow Echo who loiked at us both angrily.
"Hey watch it! You almost knocked me into Sargeant Big-Bare Forehead." Hunter gasled and basically slapped himself in the head where his bandana should be. Then I looked at Ahsoka who was looking down at her stomach where the blood stained bandana was.
"Oooh... that might be a problem." I said unfortunately to Hunter and Ahsoka. My masters head flilped to me. She looked... disappointed?
"Oh really ya think!?" I looked to see everyone else staring at me. They were all wondering if I would answer this correctly or not.
"Um... yes?" Ahsoka looked down and sighed. She stroked her stomach and sighed. That right there was answer enough, but then of course she just had to go on.
"I hope one day at least one of my children will understand sarcasm." Now I sighed and looked at my feet.
"Don't worry master I'll get there. Someday I'll be the sassiest soldier you'll know." Ahsoka scoffed but chuckled lightly afterwords. Was that I good thing or a bad thing!? Aometimes it's so hard to read people. That's something I really need to work on.
"Well anyways. Echo simce your like the groups mama, can you wash Hunter's bandana for me?" She didn't really wait for his answer and just threw the banana in his face.
"Please and thanks." He grumbled something about him always getting the rude jedi on his way out. That's mean! What am I then? Am I considered rude too?
"Alright Tech, is Crosshair free to leave?" Tech nodded once, never looking up from his datapad. I thought he was doing some important nerd thing but when I looked through the force, all I saw was him playing dejarik: the kids version. Wrecker gave Crosshair a piggy back ride out the door with the others trailing behind. Everyone was laughing and smiling, true, genuine smiles the whole way to Crosshair's old room. Once they left Ahsoka turned her head toward me again, one hand on her sromach and the other on my head gently patting it.
"Welp, time to train. Today were gonna work on different light saber techniques. Come on Omega, let's go." She rybbed the back of my head to smooth out my hair and lead me out. We forced the automatic door open and were about to make our exit. Well that's it then. Crosshair is back on the team with his brothers and new friends. He's officially gained their trust back. Crosshair isn't exactly himself right now, but he will be soon. All thanks to Tech and-
"Ahsoka?" My nerdy little brother called out before she shut the door. The door tried to shut on us but we held it open.
"Yes Tech? Something you wanna talk about?" She ushered me back in and we took a seat in the mini hospital bed that I had no idea how Crosshair sat in with his height considering the fact I can barely sit in it.
"I- not going to lie, I almost gave up."
"Yeah, me too." I agreed with Tech. Ahsoka hummed
"It's alright. I almost did too several times. Just remember that you shouldn't give up because it will all be worth it in the end. Nothing will be pointless to you as long as you remember who your fighting for." As soon as I heard her words I knew right then, I wpuld never forget it for the rest of my life. I took a deep breath in and put as I looked up at Ahsoka.
"Thank you for your words of wisdom master." Out of all the things Ive adopted from her I think- well actually it's a tie between her sass but also that there's more to life than following orders, which was the only thing I've done for literally my whole entire childhood. Ahsoka's words are golden, they shimmer and glow just like the rest of her. Listening, really listening to her like this reminds me Ill be okay, as long as I follow my teachings.
