She sighed in distress, giving up on knocking at the door of her room, her hand was beginning to hurt.

"shit, my keys" she breathed out, throwing her hands up in the air in frustration after rummaging through her bag and taking about everything out but she still couldn't find them.

"i should go check in class, i must have left them there" Moonbyul mumbled, making her way to the first floor once again.

She peaked her head inside the empty classroom, walking over to her desk before looking under it, spotting her keys.

Something else caught her attention as she reached for her belongingsβ an open notebook. Her first instinct was to reach for it but she stopped herself, hesitant, unsure why she felt like she shouldn't touch it.

then realisation hit her.
it belonged to Riki.

Holding back her breath, she pulled it towards herself, her eyes trailing along the words messily written on the page in black ink.

Dear diary,
Moonbyul is delusional.
i genuinely think she is. she's been my deskmate for almost three weeks and she never shuts her stupid mouth about that idiotic book.
to be frank everything she does gets on my nerves. she's so annoying sometimes i wish she had just jumped back then when i saw her at the rooftop.
let alone that she's trying too hard to be my friend, the poor thing thinks i will ever accept her just because we read the same book and the characters had our names and shit of that sort.
i just want to change my deskmate soon, she's always bitching about something.

"that's not true" Moonbyul whispered to herself, her lip quivering. She had put so much effort into trying to make him feel like a part of the class, like he had a friend on his side but hadn't realised that he never deserved any of it.

she quickly closed the notebook and left it where she found it, reaching for her keys once again. the loud sound of the door being slammed open startled her, her gaze darted to the tall boy standing there panting, sweat breaking across his forehead as he supported himself on the doorframe.

"what are you doing here?" Riki breathed out, still panting. Moonbyul just raised her keys up in the air, showing them to him before striving to leave. Riki placed a hand on her shoulder, stopping her before she could.

"yes your notebook is there, no i didn't dare to touch it, no need to threaten me about cutting my hands off, have a pleasant day" she answered before he could even ask, this time, leaving for real.

The thing about Moonbyul is that she was an incredibly good liar. And Riki who was incredibly good at reading people believed every word that left her mouth in that instant.

although, being the sweet and kind girl that Moonbyul is, he could definitely tell that something was off in the way she talked to him, it was colder, more distant than usual.

he swallowed the uneasy feeling and grabbed what belonged to him before going back to his room.

"I'm such an idiot!" Moonbyul cried out, burying her face on her pillow, her tears soaking the fabric. That just had to be the perfect moment for Haerin and her girlfriend Jia to come in.

"Moonbyul!? What happened!?" Haerin rushed towards the depressed looking girl and Jia tailed behind her, just as concerned.
β
"that piece of shit!" Moonbyul yelled, kicking her feet on the matress, her sudden outburst startling the two girls. "it's okay Byul" Haerin caressed her head, still unsure why she was so upset.
β

β β
β ββ ββ ββ ββ ββ β
"am i annoying?" she asked as soon as she raised her head, her cheeks wet with tears and a frown plastered on her face. Haerin smiled softly, holding her hand the way a mother would hold her child's as Moonbyul curled up on her lap.

" No Moonie, you're not" she reassured, rubbing her back as dhe flashed Jia a worried glance which the other girl returned.

"then why does he hate me? i tried so hard to be good to him despite the way he treated me" she pouted and Haerin felt a spark of anger.

"excuse me but what kind of bastard upset you like this?" Jia butted in, taking the words right out of Haerin's mouth.
