"Dreams"

I quickly stuffed some extra clothes and shoes into my backpack, making sure I have everything I need.

"I got some cash... a towel... did I miss anything?" I wondered to myself, until I was satisfied with what I had

I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs, seeing mom watching a movie with Nico in the living room.

"I'm heading out!" I called out from the hallway

"Alright, have fun. Don't get into trouble!" She called back as I headed out the door

The team and I decided that we were going to do a car wash since we needed to get cash fast. We all wanted this more than anything.

"Hey Nai!" I heard Dean call from down the street

"Hey Dean! Excited for the car wash? I feel like we might get some pretty good cash" I smiled

"You'll be drooling once u see my muscles" He jokes as I playfully push him

"In your dreams! Anyways, you don't mind us heading to Luis's house? It's not that far from here"

"Sure, we still have plenty of time before we all need to meet up"

We noticed someone was waiting for him in the porch, finally realizing it was Connie as we got closer. I called out her name along with a smile and wave. She waved back at us as Luis opened his door.

"Hey Connie, hey Luis" I smiled brightly

"Hey whadda know, it's a double couple" Dean chimed as he pointed to us then to Luis and Connie

"Are you all set Luis?" Connie asked him

"Yeah, let's start meeting everyone where we all agreed on"

"Do you know where it is?" Dean asked

"Uh... I kinda forgot, thought Nai or Connie might know" Luis admitted nervously

"That's alright, I remember where Charlie told us to meet. It's a pretty decent walk" I said as I turned my heel

"Alright then princess, lead the way" Dean says as we began walking

LUIS'S POV

I stayed behind with Connie as Portman and Nai walked in front to lead us.

Last night there was something off with myself. I couldn't put my finger on it, and it distracted me all night. I called Jessie last night and explained to him the feeling.

"You might have a crush on someone Luis"

"A crush?" I repeated "That's stupid, I'm dating Connie"

"I don't know man, sounds like you like someone else"

The weird thing was that I do like Connie. She caught my eye the day I joined the team. It didn't make sense to me as to why I would like someone else when I have a girlfriend.

That's when I heard her laugh again. I slightly looked up to see her smile back at Dean as they both laughed at some joke he said. I couldn't help but continue staring at her.

How can someone like her laugh like an angel? And her smile is even brighter as the sun hits her face. I payed attention on how she would scrunch her nose when she is trying to remember something, or how she would squint her eyes when the sun was too bright, making me feel that emotion I felt last night.

Does she know how beautiful she is?

"Luis? Luis!" Connie spoke up

"O-Oh! I'm sorry Connie, what did you say?" I cleared my throat as I looked back at her

"I was just wondering how your day was so far" she asked nervously

"It's pretty good actually. And yours?"

We continued our small talk, which didn't seem all to interesting if I'm being honest. I would glance at Nai for a quick second then back at her, trying to pay attention to the topic, until Nai finally stopped.

"Here we are!" She announced as Charlie and the others were adding water and soap to some buckets.

"Hey guys! Just in time, we are about to start the car wash. Ladies, you'll be with Julie helping getting customers and money while the rest of us are gonna wash the cars" Charlie explained

"Sounds good! We'll get some cash in no time!" Nai smiled "Come on Connie, let's put our bags near Julie's and help her out"

That smile. It's that smile that she always has that makes my heart melt. It felt like I was melting where I stood.

That moment was gone, as Russ threw me a bucket of water. Soaking me and snapping me out of my thought.

"What was that for!?" I asked as I wiped my face

Russ let out a chuckle "Seemed like you weren't all there, so I just wanted to wake you up"

"Gee, thanks for the warning"

"Guys! We got our first customer! Let's start washing the car before they think we're lazy kids!" Brian called out

NAIROBI'S POV

"Fifteen bucks just to wash the car? I think we'll be able to make at least two hundred if we have continue getting more people" Julie said as she put the cash in the jar

Since it was a warm day, it was a great day for any car to get a quick wash. Luckily the three of us had a pretty good way on persuading people.

"Don't worry, our boys can wash and dry this car in 16 minutes tops!" Connie told a driver

"We also love making sure our customers are comfortable" Julie added

More and more were coming. Which made us work even quicker and harder. I looked back at Luis and Dean as they were drying down some cars.

"Gee, it's getting hotter than usual, or is it just me?" Julie sighed as she fanned herself

"The weather broadcast said today will be the hottest of this week" Connie added

"We should've been the ones helping the boys. I wouldn't mind at least having a whole bucket dumped on me" I nodded in agreement

I heard Dean's low whistle as he came closer to us, holding three cold water bottles along with an extra jar.

"I see my girlfriend is working pretty hard" He smiled as he handed it to me

"Yep, my girls and I are doing our best to help the team. Gotta up our game" I winked

"And you're looking mighty fine doing that"

I blushed as I let out a giggle "Eyes on the car Dean, not at me or next thing you know you'll end up getting drenched like Luis earlier"

Hours went by, we were able to get more customers than we thought. Maybe due to the fact that the boys were doing it quick and easy. They even cleaned the inside of some cars which the people loved.

Finally, our last customer was finally done. I started counting the money, making sure I didn't miss a single buck or coin they handed to us.

"So, how much did we earn Nai?" Charlie asked as they all surrounded me

"We washed thirty cars in total... so that gave us... four hundred and fifty bucks!" I gasped as everyone else did the same

"Four hundred and fifty!? That's fucking crazy!" Guy blurted out

We all couldn't help but cheer, we are still down fifty bucks. However, for us to make four hundred and fifty by washing thirty cars, that's amazing!

Charlie nodded "Hard work does pay off, but we still have a big step to go. So let's try our best to get the next fifty bucks earlier than next week!"

"I'm starving" Goldberg blithered as he grabbed his bag

"I just wanna feel refreshed" Julie cooed

"Refreshing you say?" Ken smirks as he crept behind her "If it's refreshing you want, it's refreshing you'll get!"

We watched as Ken dumped a whole bucket of water on her, making her squeal then let out a laugh. We found it more funny that he had to stand on his tippy toes to get all the water on her head.

Luis did the same to Connie as we all started running around like a bunch of little kids, laughing and screaming.

"Oh come on Dean! Let me free and I'll spare you" I begged as I put my hands up for defense

"Let's just get you cooled off!" He chuckles as he poured the bucket on me, a squeal coming out from my mouth "Oh now you're gonna get it!"

We continued our fight as everyone else slowly started to join, making all of us drenched in water. Honestly, I think we all needed that, considering we've been working hard.

"Alright guys, I say we should all head home. We'll meet again on Monday and see what else we can do to gain a few more cash" Charlie clarified

"Hey Charlie, what about the money?" I asked

"Do you mind taking it? My bag is full from all the soaps and extra waters I brought" he added

I nodded "I'll bring it to practice on Monday"

"Sweet! Thanks a bunch Nai, see you guys!"

I grabbed the jars and put them in my backpack, luckily they were able to fit, a bit tightly, but it'll be just fine. We all said our goodbyes and once again the four of us started walking together.

"That was pretty fun" Luis huffed

"Yeah, crazy how we were able to finish thirty cars" Dean added

"Imagine if we started at ten in the morning? We'll probably have over five hundred, maybe a thousand!" I chimed

CONNIE' POV

I would be a liar to say it wasn't fun hanging with Luis and the others. Matter of fact, I had a great time. Especially hanging out with Nai and Julie.

Nai started talking to Portman about an upcoming video game that they liked, so I stayed quiet. I wasn't so sure of the game, as I haven't heard of it before.

"Hey Luis-"

I turned to him as he stared at Nai with a warm, comfortable look. It was the same look from before. I didn't say anything, but just stared at him until he noticed.

"Sorry Connie, what did you say?" He questioned

"It's..." I let out a soft sigh "It's nothing"

"You sure? You can tell me anything"

I nodded "It's alright"

Deep down it wasn't "alright". That look Luis gave Nai was the same look he gave me when we used to talk. Now it's like we don't even know each other. My heart told me to choose Luis, but why is my brain telling me it wasn't the right choice? A sudden thought passed through my brain.

"He is in love with Nai"

That couldn't be it can it? They are best friends, they care for each other like any best friend would do. I started to realize how close they were, how she was close to his mom and I haven't even met her yet and how she would have deep conversations with Nai.

My head started to pound over the thoughts that were going through my brain. I wanted it to stop, but it continued.

"Maybe... Nai likes Luis"

She couldn't like him. I mean, she seems so happy with Portman. As if they are the otp couple everyone talks about in magazines. If she did like Luis, she wouldn't have to date Portman from the start.

"Hey Connie you doing ok?" Nai asked as she walked next to me

"Yeah I'm alright, maybe I just feel under the weather since we've been out in the sun for so long" I lied "Where's Portman?"

"He already left. He said he needed to do some 'important business'. Whatever that means" she giggles

"I see, so are we heading to Luis's place next?" I asked

"Yep, before Dean left I was telling him and Luis that we should have a double date someday" she smiled

"A... double date?"

"Yeah, we were all talking about it" she added

"I guess I wasn't paying much attention..." I admitted

"It's alright, it was just an idea" she trailed off

"Well this is my stop" Luis announced "You guys wanna come in?"

"I think I'm good this time, my mom and I are gonna have a movie night to watch Scream" Nai beamed

Luis shook his head "Can't believe you're into that cheesy movie"

"Hey, seeing them do the most obvious is what makes it interesting" She giggles "Anyways, I'll see you guys Monday!" She waved goodbye as she started to walk to her house

I soon realized it was just Luis and I. I should've asked for a ride so I couldn't be in this situation.

"Maybe you should come inside, maybe call your mom?"

I shook my head "It's alright..."

Luis gave me a serious look. His eyes giving me a steady gaze as his eyebrows slightly rise. It was like he knows what's wrong with me.

"Are you sure you're ok? You've been quiet most of the day and I'm starting to get worried"

Should I tell him the truth?

"Well... maybe I do have something that I've been thinking" I admitted nervously

"You can tell me anything Connie, I'm your boyfriend after all"

"Well... the truth is... I-"

"Connie! Sweetheart ready to go?!" I heard my mom called out from the car

"Y-Yeah coming!" I called back "I'll see you on Monday Luis"

"Hey wait a second, what was it you were gonna say?"

"It's nothing!" I said as I ran to my mom's car, leaving him standing in his porch

"Alright dear you don't mind going to the store with me right?" She asked

"No... not at all..."

NAIROBI'S POV

"Man, who knew money could be so heavy" I panted as I turned to my street

I hope Connie is doing alright. If I'm being honest, she looked out of it, as if something was bothering her. It couldn't be me, right?

"Finally.... My house" I sighed of relief as I slowly walked up my steps "Movie night... with junk food, my cat and mamá here I come"

I opened the door as I kicked my shoes to the side of the door, feeling the fresh breeze pass my feet. I almost knocked out where I stood since the house was so cozy.

"I'm home! And you could not believe the day we had!" I spoke out loud as I headed to the living room "It was-"

I paused as I saw a brown haired man sitting across from mom, as someone was sitting in the couch. My heart started to beat faster as I realized who the person was in the middle.

"Cooper..." I thought as he turned around, his smile also fading away
