Y/n stood at the edge of the bustling city, looking out into the horizon. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm orange glow across the landscape. It was a peaceful evening, contrasting the chaos and adventure that usually filled Y/n's days.
As the cool breeze brushed against their face, Y/n couldn't help but feel a sense of tranquility wash over them. Standing there, they felt a connection to the world around them, appreciating the beauty and simplicity of their surroundings. Everything seemed to align perfectly, as if the universe was whispering its secrets.
But amidst the serenity, a subtle numbness started to creep up within Y/n. It was as if every inch of their body was slowly losing its feeling, replaced by a void of emptiness. Confused, they looked down at their hands, trying to understand what was happening. They touched their cheek, but it felt distant, almost unreal.
Suddenly, Y/n found themselves being transported into a deep abyss of darkness. It was as if they were submerged in the depths of the ocean, surrounded by nothing but pitch-black water. Panic began to rise within them, their heart pounding against their chest. Yet, as they looked around, they realized they couldn't feel fear or any emotion at all.
Time seemed to stand still as Y/n floated aimlessly in that dark expanse. Minutes turned into hours, and they longed for something, anything to break the monotonous silence that engulfed them. And then, as if an answer to their silent plea, a warm sensation started to envelop them.
A voice pierced through the darkness, calling out their name. Y/n strained to listen, the sound resonating within their being. "Y/n, help him, save them," the voice pleaded, growing clearer with each passing second. It was a familiar voice, yet they couldn't quite place it.
Slowly, you regained consciousness, blinking away the haze in your vision. You found yourself in a small room, the bright morning light seeping through the curtains. Wincing at the sharp pain in your head, you sat up, clutching your temples.
A figure stood before you, concern etched across his face. It was Sonic the hedgehog, you had come to know and adventure with. Your voice was hoarse as you muttered his name, your memories slowly returning.
Sonic flashed you a cheeky smile, his emerald green eyes filled with relief. "The one and only," he replied, his voice laced with genuine concern. Your mind raced, trying to piece together the fragments of your recollection.
Rubbing your eyes, you realized you had been awoken from a disorienting dream. "What time is it? Why did you wake me up?" You asked groggily.
Normally, he would be in his morning run while you slept, and Tails wouldn't wake you up until breakfast was ready.
Maybe Eggman attacked in the middle of the morning? Nah, even if he is the worst villain of all time, he knows his boundaries.
"Well, you were..." The gears in his brain turned as he tried to figure out how to put it into words.
"โTurning and thrashing around. I was going to wake you up anyway since Tails says breakfast is ready. He's just adding the finishing touches. And It's 7!"
You glanced at the clock, noting that it is indeed 7 in the morning. You must have fallen asleep after a restless night. As the events of the dream faded into the background, you shrugged off your confusion and focused on the present. Getting up and looking back at your messy bed, you turn towards the already waiting hedgehog in the doorway, "I'll be there in a minute."
Sonic nodded, content with your answer, and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. You quickly fixed your trashed sheets and blankets. Opening your wardrop, you change into your daily outfit.
Shoving the curtains aside, you open the window, allowing some fresh air into the room. You deeply inhale the cold breeze, relaxing your muscles. With a newfound clarity, you realized that it was a brand new day, filled with endless possibilities. You would shake off the remnants of that strange dream in the main time.
Despite the weirdness that occasionally surrounded Sonic and your unexplainable experiences, you knew that life with him would always be an extraordinary journey.
You walked into the kitchen, sitting in your usual seat. Right across from you sat the Mobius' famous hero, the blue blur himself, talking to his little brother figure and sidekick, preparing breakfast at the counter with his back facing you. Tails glanced back at you once you took your seat. "Hey, Mint! I made some bacon and boiled eggs today. Is that okay?" He smiled sheepishly, probably feeling bad because he couldn't ask you what you wanted today. You prop your head up with your palm, "Yep. Sounds good..." You muttered.
"Knock knock!" You muttered from outside the open workshop's door. "Y/n, the door is open, you can enter." His voice came a bit far away as he spoke matter-of-factly.
Just being sure if you want me inside or not. What speech are you planning on giving me this time? Of course, you didn't word any of that and instead, stayed muttering, "Just making sure."
"You really have nothing? Not even a single clue for us..?" He murmured. You both figured a long time ago that your nightmares somehow always become reality. And you don't have nightmares that often... So It's a big problem that you can't remember. You always helped your friends to obstruct the events going to happen thanks to your foresight. But now? Now you're useless...
You clench your hands, frustration coursing through you. The weight of uncertainty hangs heavy in the air. Your mind, once sharp and dependable, feels clouded and distant. This isn't just a personal struggle; it threatens the very fabric of your group's purpose and the lives of everyone else.
"This is the fourth time this week..." Tails sighed, worry etching lines on his face.
"Maybe tomorrow you can remember," he offered, his words carrying a glimmer of hope. However, his tone betrayed his doubts, mirroring the unease that lingered in your own heart.
"No, no, no, no. I need to remember now!" you exclaim, the urgency in your voice matching the pace of your racing thoughts. "What if we don't have a tomorrow? What if we're losing time? What if Eggman already did something?!"
Your despair spills out into the open, muffled by your trembling hands as you groan in frustration and desperation.
In a soothing gesture, Tails reaches out and gently grabs your hands. His comforting touch brings a semblance of calm amidst the chaos swirling inside you. You glance at him, taking solace in the unwavering trust reflected in his eyes.
"Come on, don't be so sour," he says, his voice steady and filled with determination. "When did we ever lose to that guy? We always win! So what if you can't remember? You're still here with us. You'll fight alongside us no matter what, right?"
His words resonate deep within you, stirring a spark of courage. Approving, you smile softly, feeling the weight of doubt slowly dissipate.
"That's what matters," he said, his voice carrying a newfound resolve. "Don't be upset. Now, I was thinking of adding one more seat on my plane. Whatcha say? Are you in?"
As hope reignites within you, a genuine enthusiasm colors your grin, erasing the lingering shadows of doubt. "That sounds awesome!"
"Good. But promise me something first. Please, tell me what bothers you after this. I don't like to argue with you," Tails pleaded, his voice tinged with genuine concern.
You paused, reassured by his comforting words. Squeezing his hand slightly, you smiled softly and said, "Fine, I promise I'll tell you everything; no secrets."
