Sonic looks around while speeding through the streets.

"Nine? Nine? Nine??"

He starts to get worried and looks up, now noticing the ship, "What in the..."

"Where did that thing come from? I better check it out."

Sonic speeds through the ship. He notices that he's glowing brightly the more he runs.

"Huh? What's going on?"

Shadow appears next to him.

"Keep going! Do not stop!"

"Shadow?"

Shadow disappears. Sonic listens to what he says and keeps on going. He disappears into a burst of light before he can bump into a building.

A portal opens in the cloud and he falls through it.

"Whoa! Not again!"

He twirls through a blue sky aimlessly as he passes through the clouds and sees a big blue area.

"Wait, is that water? Please, don't be water. Please, don't be water. Please, don't be water."

After the clouds cleared Sonic whined, "That's water."

He shouted in distress, "Just when things couldn't get any worse!"

He notices something, "Wait! Is that land?" He grunts trying to goes towards it, "Alllmost thereee!"

He groans face planting on the water just near the little island, "So close." His voice muffled because of the water.

He takes his head off from the water gasping for breath, panthing. He got up and wiped his head. Water dropping down from all over his body.

"Okay. Stay calm." He reminded himself, "One minute, I was looking for Nine," He wiped his muzzle, "Then I saw that gnarly ship and then, somehow..."

He shields his eyes, looking around, "Wait, where am I?"

"How did I get..." He sat down looking at his new shoes and gloves, "Huh, Wonder what these guys do."

He turns to hear a voice, "Ahoy there, stranger!"

His eyes widen seeing his friends another counterparts, "What brings ye to the No Place?" The bat grins widely at him from the palm tree. Behind her stood glaring and smirking a saffron fox and a pink hedgehog.

Sonic gets up chuckling, "Se-Seriously? Pirates?"

They land in front of him, "That's-- that's super! Just great!"

He points at them weakly quickling, "Of course, you're pirates!"

The fox whispers at the pink hedgehog, "I bet he's one of the old crew."

The pink hedgehog turns to him, "What should we do?"

The bat lands next to her, surprising her, "I say, we pirate!" She raises her sword.

The hedgehog stepped not so sure, "But the captain's not here. I don't think he'd approve of us, you know, 'pirating' "She smirked holding her sword's handle.

Sonic questioned, "What kind of pirates don't pirate?"

The bat smirks as the others glance at her, "Well, ye know, how the saying goes Rose, 'Dead men tell no tales.' "

They raise their swords at his face.

Sonic backs up panicking, poorly copying their accent, "Argh, argh!" They step further as he continues to back up, "I don't mean to harm ye."

"I'm just a wayward hedgehog looking for a way home."

He yelped when he stepped in the water, taking his foot away, "Water!"

They raise their swords with a yell, "Argh!"

Before they can do anything you quickly step in front of them.

Sonic's eyes widen, "Y/n?! Is this really you?"

You scowled at him, "Who else was gonna be?"

He nervously grinned, pointing out, "I love your new dress! It looks nice! Fitting this place's atmosphere--"

You shushed him, "Less talk more action." You quickly raise your own sword with a smirk.

You yelled with a wicked grin, "Who has the courage to duel with me?!"

The three stepped up, raising their swords.

You smiled, "Three to one? Fine by me."

With a war cry they sprint towards you. You raise your sword, clashing it with their own, yanking your sword you push them back with your strength.

Sonic runned off when the bat fly off with her sword trailing on his tail.

You smirk twirling your sword in your hand, you raise your hand and motion them to come to you.

They yelled running forward, you smirked, sprinting towards them. You dodge the hedgehog's sword, clashing your sword with the fox. You twirl back dodging their swords.

Sonic jumped away from the hedgehog's sword when he get too near running around the little island. He jumped on a palm tree climbing up. The pink hedgehog growled and put the sword in her mouth while climbing. Sonic panth and jumped on the high ground near him.

You turn around at the last minute, clashing your sword with the bat. You smirked up at her holding on to your sword with your two bare hands as she dragged you back in the sand.

You dropped down on your side with a hiss when the fox throwed his sword towards you.

You were lucky to throw it away with your own one at the last minute.

You quickly flip back away from another sword attack, getting up to your feet.

You no longer had a sword, so you had to turn the situation against yourself now.

You glared as they sprint towards you. You quickly duck away from their sword and slide your foot under them causing them to drop on their back. You rapidly pick up your sword and turn around just before your sword clashes with the fox's causing you to smirk.

Your eyes widened when he pushed your sword back, twirled around and pointed at the sharp metal just above your throat.

The bat laughed at your state, "Good job Sails! Hold her while we get the other one!"

He didn't say anything and she flew off with her and your sword.

You smirk, noticing he was checking you out.

"Like what you see?"

He scoffed, "In your dreams." He leaned, can't recognize you or what you were, "How did ye learn to fight like this?"

You grinned, "I always loved pirates, I also love playing with dangerous things--" you shut up feeling the sword starting to hurt your neck.

"Choose yer words carefully. Ye be under me mercy. Say, what be ye exactly?"

You grunted out, "I'm a--"

He holds your chin with a gasp shutting you up again, tilting your head to right and left, "Wait! be ye a mermaid?! ye look just like one of them from me book!"

You frowned, "Wish I was. That would be cool."

You blinked seeing a metallic hand behind him, "Wow... is that yours..?"

He glanced back, he glared at you, "What if it be mine?"

"It's beautiful."

He was taken back, not from your words but how you said it. It was full of admiration.

He gets off of you. You blinked in surprise. You yelp, catching the sword he throws at you.

You look at him confused.

He gave you a look and turned around flying towards his team mates.

You blinked dumbfounded, a gasp of realization escaped your lips, remembering Sonic, "Shoot." You quickly sprint towards where you think he went. Actually there is not much place he could run in this little island so it wasn't that hard to figure out...

Actually, maybe you could have lingered a little longer. That would be the cobalt blue hedgehog's punishment for leaving you behind before. You chuckled, fun. But you are a good friend unlike him.

Sonic by the edge with the white bat, the pink hedgehog, and the saffron fox surround him, slowly approaching.

"Boy, it sure feels good to a pirate, don't it?"

"Oi!"

"Leave him to the brisket!"

Sonic gasps in horror. While on his run of escape he didn't see the foot purposely reach out in his way, causing him to trip and fall from the edge, straight to salty ocean water.

By mere inches from the water the fox catches him with his metal arm, "Gotcha!"

The fox flew up to his teammates, Sonic sulk in defeat, "Well, wouldn't you know it? I'm caught between the devil and the deep blue sea."

Hedgehog and the bat glance at each other.

The fox rubbed his chin, sighing with acknowledgement, "You know. He's too fast to be part of the old crew."

"Listen, I am not a part of any crew you're looking for. In fact, me and Y/n lost our crew. It's a bit of a sore spot actually." Continue defending you I see.

"I'll give you a sore spot, alright!" the bat threatened, pointing her sword at him.

You landed behind them, "Hey, I can't say he's lying." You shrug when they face you, "Recall a time you saw something like me?"

They glance at each other.

"Nothing. See? Look, we are just trying to find our way back home. Just let him go."

"Alright, alright. Enough's enough. Gather the coconuts. The captain would want us to get back to the ship without taking too long." Hedgehog spoke, walking away, "Leave this scalawag for the buzzards."

"Well, it was fun while it lasted." the bat spoke sliding her finger over her sword before flying away with the fox throwing him on the ground following along. You glance at their backs.

"Wait, you're leaving?" Sonic asked.

The bat flies up to the palm tree and cuts down the coconut.

"Uh, you can't leave us here." He tried to reason, "There's literally water everywhere!"

"Probably never will be able to find our way back~" You teased Sonic as he panicked more.

Sonic runs over to see them by the boat, "Uh, where're you going? Somewhere with a lot of land, hopefully." You followed him along and looked down.

"Back to our ship. And we don't take scalawags." the bat said.

"You know, with all that speed and stamina, these land lovers could be useful." the fox spoke, flying over to him, "Swabbing the deck, raising the mizzen mast, rowing the boat." he smiled.

The bat sighs in frustration, throwing her head back, "I hate rowing the boat."

The pink hedgehog nods in agreement.

Sonic immediately raises his hand, "I'll row! I'm a great rower!"

Sonic elbows Sails on the shoulder, "I'll bet you 20 coconuts I'm the best rower you've ever seen!" The fox glanced at him unfazed. Sonic jumped down next to them while you stood next to Sails.

You look down nervously. It's too high for you to jump down casually unlike Sonic. When you saw a gloved hand in front of you, you glanced at the fox's sky blue eyes, he urged, "Well?"

You smiled accepting his hands, he gently put you down next to Sonic.

"Fine! I, too, hate rowing." the pink hedgehog sighed in defeat, "But, there is one condition when we get back to the ship. It's Captain's orders or else!"

"Or else? The plank?" Sonic asks, leaning against the boat, accidently pushing it away, he quickly grabs it back to the land.

"I can assure you that this hedgehog has no interest in planks. Captain's orders. Got it! I love captains." Sonic makes a heart shape with his hands and blinks, making the pink hedgehog stare at him unfazed, "Right, Y/n?"

You shrugged, "Yeah, sure. I'm not in the mood for swimming anyway."

Sonic notices a red, gold, and green tall ship with red and white sails in the distance of the ocean.

"Whoa! Is that your ship?" He stared at it in awe.

"Tis indeed."

The bat slams an oar into Sonic's chest.

"Now, move along! Ye need to hurry to get a good seat. And ye, be useful--" she threw another oar at you, "Ye be also rowing! The more the merrier... for us~"

You chuckled, catching it quickly, "Sure... if there would be any left for me from Sonic."

They looked confused for a second but ignored it.

With the oar, Sonic vaults into the boat, Sails nudge you to get in next, you nervously chuckled and sit next to the blue blur as the bat, the pink hedgehog, and the fox goes in afterwards.

You give your oar to him, "Everybody got seat belts on?"

The three pirates look at you in confusion. You grinned at that.

"Seat belts?" Sails asked innocently.

Your grin widens, "Oh, this is going to be so much fun."

Sonic starts rowing the boat superfast, like a jet ski, causing the three pirates to scream while you cheer. The boat shortly makes it to the ship without a problem.

The trio looks scared for their life with their fur or quills sticking out in an instinct or from the intense speed. You quickly fixed your messed up hair.

"Well, that was quick." the bat commented.

Sonic smirks in amusement. Wenches pull the boat up to the deck. The pirates, you and Sonic board into the ship.

A sleeping cat and frog fall off the hammock, making you flinch in fright. A coconut with a straw rolls to Sonic's feet. Sonic makes a disgusted look.

"Urgh. Looks like someone had a few too many coconuts last night."

Sonic goes down the stairs to the pirates while you slide down on the railing.

"You guys should really consider cleaning that poop deck."

You glance at the tired/bored pirates raising a brow.

You yelped when someone suddenly appeared next to you.

You notice it's the fox. He reached for a sword towards you, "This might be yours?"

He smirked, amused by the way you get scared.

You smiled, taking your sword and slid it back to its place.

"Gotta give it to ye. Ye be a jolly fighter."

Before you can give an answer you flinch while hearing a yell.

"Argh!"

You cover your eyes from the sun while squatting glancing up towards the voice's owner spotting a shadowy figure on the crow's nest. While the golden fox next to you crossed his arms unamused.

"Who'd be the scalawag you brought on board?"

"Sonic, Y/n, meet Dread." the pink hedgehog introduced.

"The Dread." the bat added with a grin.

Dread swings down behind the sails to the deck. The red echidna wears a tricorn hat. He gives us a grin, showing a golden tooth.

"The Dread is... Knuckles?" Sonic asked in shock.

You get remade by the time you first meet Knuckles, your eyes shined, "Wow... pirate Knuckles? I like the idea."

Aboard the ship, the fox could be seen picking his teeth with his sword as Sonic gives a thoughtful look before shrugging, "Yeah, it makes sense."

You slide next to Sonic whispering, "Doesn't it... weird that we encounter every weird counterpart of our friends but Shadow?"

His eyes widened, "I think it's for the best. I can't deal with him.... between all this mess."

Dread's eyes widen noticing your presence, "A mermaid?" He whispers in awe approaching you.

You stutter when he holds your hands. "U-Uh..."

"What a dazzler. Where ye may be from, madam?"

Your mind freezed, and you don't know what to say. You didn't knew Knuckles had it in him, "Ah... I--"

Before his hands travel more on your body, the saffron fox intervenes with a calm voice, "Sorry, Cap'n. But she be no mermaid. An advice... maybe ye should let go, she looks uncomfortable." Dread notices his metal arm gripping his sword a bit too tight.

Dread lets go, apologetically lifting his cocked hat, "I be sorry, madam. Did nay mean to cause any disrespectful manners."

You stood speechless, "Uh... that's okay?" Is he really a personality that Knuckles embodies?

Sonic quickly takes your sabre from your scabbard, pointing the sharp carbon steel to his face with a glare.

"Wha-- hey!" You shouted in slight protest. You were caught off guard once again.

"You're a pirate Knuckles and I don't trust you even a little bit. I'm not taking any chances." The pirates get in a fighting position in defense.

Dread pat your shoulder with a chuckle, "Please don't be offended."

"Uh... I won't. I guess..?" You smiled slightly raising a brow. Sonic quickly took your hand and tugged you towards him standing in front of you in defense. You rolled your eyes at his protective manner.

Sonic smells something and gets alarmed.

"Fire? Fire!"

He sees a fireplace as coconuts are being cooked over the fire.

"Wait."

The frog could be seen hopping next to the fire. Sonic sniffs again.

"Dinner?"

The cat puts the coconut on the crate. With a sword, he chops it in half.

"Dinner!" Sonic gasped in delight. Now you were noticing, he hasn't eaten anything since this weird prism thing happened. You haven't felt any form of hunger since you eated before. But even you were confused with all this transfer and time difference. Did you actually eat something before?

Dread holds out an apple, "I will trade you that sword of yours for this nice, shiny apple." He winked towards you knowing it's your sword.

You frowned, he better give it back to you after getting it.

Sonic glared at him, "So you can stuff it in my mouth? No, thanks. You do know hedgehog quills are a choking hazard, don't you?"

Dread and others, except you laugh at Sonic.

Dread walks up the stairs, "Don't ye worry. The fire isn't to cook you."

He turned around showing a cannon. The cat was pointing it towards you two, "It's to welcome you!"

Sonic gasps and ducks along with you expecting it to shoot a ball but pause when it shoots out... confettis?

You look around really confused when the pirates cheer. You hold your hand out, a confetti landing on your palm.

The frog beats the drum and the cat starts to play a lute. Colorful balloons float. Colored lights wrapped around the mast. You and Sonic were confused at these sudden decorations.

"Definitely not the Knuckles I know," he said.

You agreed nodding.

"Besides, have you seen yer legs? I've seen more meat on a starfish." Dread commented, making you look down on his shoes with a chuckle.

Sonic looks very offended by that, but quickly softens when he looks around the ship again, "Wait. This really is a party?"

Dread laughed, "Sure is! But we don't cross new adventurers that often." He winked at you two, walking away.

"You're officially my favorite Knuckles ever." Pointing fingers at him with a grin. [Kayla: I think he is also going to regret saying that.

Sonic glances at you biting his lip, who is sitting along with the girls and approaches, "Hey girls. Can I talk to my friend for a sec?"

They nodded and walked away.

You look at him confused, you just sit with them and be included in their conversation.

"Hey, are you... aware?" It was eating him out since he landed eyes on you.

You chuckled, "Aware? If you mean it by remembering everything before, yes. I do remember everything. When you told me about the Boscage Maze in the Shatterspace and all. I couldn't remember it back then but now I remember every part of it I was in. Mangey, Prim, Thorn, Gnarly and Hangry. Not sure if I remember what happened here after I leave this world though. But for some reason I can't remember much from my stay with Nine. Everything is blurry. I guess I still need to learn to control over this."

Before Sonic can reply back, he gasps to see something he surely missed. He sprint away to his one and true love, chilidog. You chuckled and watched his interaction with the sea dog and the Dread.

You watch with a smile when Sonic eats the sea dog, his expression quickly changes to a bliss.

You warmly smiled at that.

You walked up to them taking a coconut and drinking it needly, oh you were thirsty for sure.
