Kano POV

As we walk toward the 100th floor boss, we arrive at the Ruby Palace.

Riku and Amaya are in front of us and stop as we arrived at the door. They turn and begin to give their speech to the army.

Riku: Alright, we have finally made it to the 100th floor, todays fight will be like none other we have fought.

A random player from the army got nervous and yelled.

Player?: Screw this! If we fight that thing it will kill us all! Just like the scouts!

The army memebers start to discuss within themselves. Ultimately they start to protest against us and we're about to become aggressive. Riku and Amaya turn to me in worry but I just nodded.

Grim Knight: Hey! Now listen up! This death game has trapped us against our will! We are this close to beating it and what, your gonna give up now!

The crowd stopped talking and paid attention to me.

Grim Knight: If we stick together like we have done, we will not lose! Now is not the time to turn on one another! If you trust one another then there should be no fear! Today we will prove to Akihiko Kayaba that we will not lose! Because Today Is Our Day Of Liberation!

The crowd cheered and got back in formation.

I turned back to Riku and Amaya who were impressed.

I pull out Blade Obsidian with one hand and hold Zoya's hand in the other.

The door opens and we all enter the fighting arena that was ginormous. As the last player entered, the door behind us closed.

A bright light appears in front of us and it started to take form. A white 50 feet fall goddess with red eyes, and red spheres on it's head took form in front of us.

We all read the name of the final boss, 'Incarnation of Radius' and 10 health bars appeared on her.

We all charged at it, the axe uses made the first attack and an invisible wall appeared blocking their attacks.

It quickly slapped them back making them hit the wall of the palace. The tanks or shield users took position and without waisting a second the boss shot rainbow colored lasers out of its head knocking the players back.

Riku: Damn, that things got counter measures against all of our attacks!

Grim Knight: Don't give up, attack from it's left, I'll go for the right.

We both ran and it only used the invisible wall on Riku but luckily I slashed it a couple of times on its back lowering it by one health bar.

Everyone: Yes!!

All of a sudden the boss summoned a tree taller than her.

A drop of water fell on the center red sphere on its head healing its health bar until it was full.

Everyone: Oh come on!

Zoya: We have to stop that tree!

Grim Knight: I got a plan!

I ran over to Riku, Amaya, and Zoya. Everyone was distraction the boss running everywhere to give us time.

Grim Knight: When that tree appears again, tell all the axe users to cut it down before it heals her. After that I bet she'll fire a laser, tell the shield users to take the blow and swords users to go right after it fires.

Riku: But what about that wall?

Grim Knight: Don't worry, I got that covered. Split up to tell the plan. Tell them to commence the plan on my signal.

Riku/Amaya/Zoya: Got it!

They all split up and told everyone about my plan.
I looked up to the ceiling and saw it was open.

Grim Knight: Perfect.

I opened my menu and pulled out an item. I put it around my neck and the crystal began to glow red.

All of a sudden a roar can be heard from above the palace and a black dragon flew down in front of me far from the boss.
Of course the players got scared and were about to attack.

Grim Knight: Hold on, he's on our side!

The players all looked at me and I nodded and putting their trust in me they all went back to distraction the boss. I turned around and looked up to the black dragon looking down at me.

Grim Knight: Astarot! I'm glad you're here!

Astarot: I'll fly any distance to meet and assist my master.

Grim Knight: Thank you, we need your help defeating the boss, it has an invisible wall protecting it.

Astarot: Consider that wall gone master.

He gets up and flys around grabbing the attention of the boss and he sends a massive and powerful fire ball and was deflected by the wall but started to crack.

I ran back over to Riku, Amaya and Zoya.

Grim Knight: Quick attack its other side while its distracted!

They all listened and while the boss was blocking Astarots fire ball we attacked it from the back lowering its health by 3 health bars. The wall finally cracked and the boss shot a rainbow laser sending Astarot flying back hitting the wall. It jumped away and summoned the giant tree.

Grim Knight: Now!

The axe users used their strongest sword skill and where able to cut the tree down before it healed the boss. Immediately it fired a laser and the tank users took the blow without a lot of damage. The sword users quickly slashed the boss lowering by another 3 health bars.

The boss got pissed and was about to swing down at us with a downward strike but from behind Astarot jumped on it biting its neck and pulling it back.

With that opportunity we attacked the boss from the front while it's arms tried to take Astarot off of her and were able to drop another 2 bars, leaving it with 2 bars left.

Suddenly it activates another power, summoning tree roots from the ground and swinging all of us including Astarot off of her.

It summoned the giant tree again and healed all the way back to 10 bars.

Zoya: Oh No.

Riku: Damn!

Grim Knight: Come on, don't lose hope!

I ran around the boss grabbing her attention and jumped over and onto one of her blades and slashed her hand cutting it off.

When I landed I saw that Zoya was on the back of Astarot flying, he send a fireball but was destroyed by the bosses laser and hit Astarot, but not before Zoya jumped off and stabbed right into the bosses eye. She slid down the boss on all the way to the ground next to me.

That really pissed off the boss and with her spear in her hand she did a lunge attack trying to stab Zoya.
I pushed her out of the way and using my strongest sword skill <<Dragon Claw>> I tried to stop the attack.

Suddenly, I hear a snap and a huge pain in my chest. As I look down, I see that the tip of her spear had gone completely through my chest, and in my right hand, Black Obsidian was snapped in two.

I look over to Zoya who I threw to the side moments ago, had a face of disbelief and tears running down her face.

I looked down as I saw my health bar at a normal rate drop on its way down to red.

In those few second as my health bar was in red and dropping, all I could see was my life flashing before my eyes.

The memories of my parents, the memories of my life outside before the game. But most importantly the life I have made inside the game, meeting my friends! Meeting Zoya! Meeting Alice! I still had so much to live for, it couldn't possibly end now. No, No! I WON'T LET IT!!

I saw the last of my red health drop completely, but either it was my will or my stubbornness,  I still wasn't gone.

I slowly raise my broken sword with all my might even though the immense pain pulled me inside out, tears began to run down my face.

Zoya POV

I could feel that he put all of his strength, will, courage, determination, dreams, hopes, and love in that blade and it started to glow gold and grow longer, and eventually it grew taller than the boss.

He held his broken blade over his head and yelled.
Grim Knight: RRAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!
He swung his blade down and with one clean cut he cut right through the boss splitting it in two, dropping all its health bars to zero killing it making it explode into digital crystals.

Kano POV

As the congratulations icon appears I feel all my strength fade and I fall backwards, but before I hit the floor I'm caught by Zoya.

I turn to look at her and tears are running down her face as she is sobbing and taking off my helmet.

Zoya: *crying*No,No,No,No, please don't go*sob* don't go.

I wipe the tears off of her face and I touch foreheads with her.

Kano: *Weak* Hey, it's ok, *tears up* we won. *chuckle*

Zoya: *crying* But it's not fair. We won ,but—*sobs*

Kano: I know...I know...promise me that you'll take care of Alice...that you'll sing to her every night her favorite song. *chuckle* And promise me that you find love again.*tears up*

Zoya: *crying No, please don't ask me that..I can't, I won't, not without you...

Kano: Just remember, I love you Zoya Weaver with all my being.

Zoya: I love you more *chuckle*

Our faces get close and we share a passionate kiss until I feel nothing and disappear.

I open my eyes and the bright light from the sunset hits my eyes blinding me. Once my eyes adjust, I'm standing on top of a invisible platform in the middle of the sky.

I look down and in a distance I see Aincrad the floating castle falling apart.

???:Beautiful, isn't it?

I turn to my right and see a man in a white lab coat standing next to me.
Kano: Akihiko Kayaba.

Kayaba: Hello Grim Knight, congratulations on completing the game. That was quite something else I might say.

Kano: Thank you...So, the game is really over, isn't it.

Kayaba: Yes, the surviving 6,000 player are currently being logged out of Sword Art Online as we speak.

Kano: And what about the other 4,000?

Kayaba: They were deleted from both worlds once they died.

We both stood in silence after he said that but I broke it.

Kano: Can I ask you something, why , why create SAO?

Kayaba: To be entirely honest, I don't remember. As a child I dreamed of a floating castle and with multiple floors, with a world of their own on each floor. I would go to that castle in my dreams all the time, but one day, they just suddenly stopped. I suppose the urge to go back was what made me make it.

Kano: *Chuckle* My father use to say that 'things that we want to forget but can't, aren't meant to be forgotten, but the things that we do forget, should be'.

Kayaba: He sounds like a wise man

Kano: Yeah, he was. Maybe, SAO doesn't have a point in the end, but instead the journey is the point.

Kayaba: *whisper* Maybe

Kano: Well, I always asked myself what I would say to you if I ever got the chance too, but now I just want to say thank you.

Kayaba: Thank you?

Kano: Yeah, thank you for creating Sword Art Online. Thanks to this game, I know what is really important in my life. After the death of my parents, I had lost it, but I was able to find it again here.

Kayaba: And what was that important thing?

Kano: It was love. I fell in love with a beautiful woman and we had a great child together. I may end up dying, but I'm glad I was able to find it again before it happened.... So thank you.

I turned to look at the floating castle and sat on the edge of the invisible platform.

3rd Person POV

Kayaba turned away from Kano and opened his menu, he was about to hit log out but then stopped, he pushed some other buttons before hitting log out and disappeared.

Kano sat on the platform and watched the last of the floating castle disappear into data. Once it was gone he looked at the sunset and started to sing as a wave of whiteness got close to him and swollowed him as he embraced knowing he able love one last time.
