They sat in Johnnyโ€™s room, waiting for the right time to sneak Y/n back home.

Johnny could sense Y/nโ€™s embarrassment from a mile away and there was no way he was going to let this golden opportunity pass.

โ€œSo...how does it feel to wake up in my room, wearing my clothes, after an unforgettable night?โ€

โ€œStop it, Johnny. I already feel horrible.โ€

โ€œHorrible?!โ€ Johnny gasped, clutching his chest dramatically.

โ€œI thought youโ€™d be honoured! Not everyone gets the VIP Johnny Lawrence drunk babysitting experience.โ€

She peeked out from behind the pillow, narrowing her eyes.

โ€œOh, honoured is definitely not the word Iโ€™d use.โ€

โ€œYou know, you were so charming last night. Telling the waiter he needed some company? Classic. I bet heโ€™ll remember you forever.โ€

Y/n gasped.

โ€œI didnโ€™t!โ€

โ€œOh, you did. And you even said my milkshake order was boring. You called me predictable in front of the guy!โ€

She groaned again, throwing the pillow at him.

โ€œWhy are you like this? Just let me suffer in silence!โ€

โ€œNope.โ€ Johnny said, catching the pillow easily.

โ€œIโ€™m paying you back for all the nonsense you put me through last night. You asked me so many dumb questions, Y/n. Like, do fishes drink water?โ€

Y/n buried her face in her hands.

โ€œPlease stop.โ€

โ€œAnd donโ€™t forget, you almost climbed out my window when you decided you wanted to โ€˜see the stars better.โ€™โ€

Y/n looked up, horrified.

โ€œYouโ€™re making this up. I did not do that.

โ€œOh, I wish I was. You were halfway out before I pulled you back in. And you told me I was ruining your โ€˜adventure.โ€™โ€

Y/n threw another pillow at him.

โ€œYouโ€™re so annoying!โ€

โ€œHey, just returning the favour. Fairโ€™s fair.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re enjoying this way too much.โ€

โ€œOf course I am. Iโ€™ve never seen you so embarrassed. Itโ€™s hilarious.โ€ he smirked.

โ€œFine. Get it out of your system now. But Iโ€™ll get you back one day, Johnny Lawrence. Just wait.โ€ y/n scoffed.

Johnny smirked, tossing the pillow back at her.

โ€œIโ€™d like to see you try. But until thenโ€ฆโ€ He sat up straight.

โ€œWant another piggyback ride? You seemed to love those last night.โ€

Y/n groaned loudly, flopping back onto the couch.

โ€œI hate you.โ€

Johnny chuckled, standing up and stretching.

โ€œHate me all you want but you still owe me for not letting you fall out a window. Now, letโ€™s see if you can sneak back into your house without making your parents think youโ€™ve gone insane.โ€

"How though?" She asked.

โ€œAlright, hereโ€™s the deal. Sneaking out of my house? Not as easy as it sounds.โ€ He explained.

โ€œOh, come on, Johnny. Iโ€™ve had enough of this whole sneaking.around thing!โ€

โ€œWell, too bad. My dadโ€™s like a hawk. Heโ€™s always up, either watching TV or pretending to do something important. One wrong move.and weโ€™re both toast.โ€

Y/n stared at him with her eyes wide.

โ€œAre you serious? What kind of life is this?!โ€

โ€œThe Lawrence life, sweetheart. Welcome to it.โ€ He shrugged.

She flopped back onto the couch dramatically.

โ€œI hate this. I hate everything. Why didnโ€™t I just stay home last night?โ€

โ€œOh, right. Because you wanted to make some new fresh friends. Totally worth it, by the way.โ€

Y/n sat up and glared at him.

โ€œYouโ€™re the worst.โ€

Johnny laughed, pointing at her.

โ€œYou shouldโ€™ve seen your face when I said my dad might catch us. Priceless. Like you just found out Santa wasnโ€™t real.โ€

โ€œJohnny!โ€ Y/n threw the pillow at him but he ducked easily, still laughing.

A/n: someone tell me how many times did I make them throw pillows?

โ€œRelax. Iโ€™ve got a plan.โ€ he grinned.

โ€œDoes it involve me hiding in a trash can or something equally ridiculous?โ€

Johnny pretended to think about it.

โ€œNow that you mention it, thatโ€™s not a bad ideaโ€ฆโ€

โ€œJohnny! I hate all of this!โ€

He walked over and patted her on the head.

โ€œCome on, itโ€™ll be fun. Like Mission: Impossible but with way more stakes because my dad will lose it if he finds you here.โ€

Y/n peeked out from her hands, glaring at him.

โ€œWhy do I feel like this is your way of getting back at me for last night?โ€

โ€œBecause it absolutely is.โ€ he smirked.

Y/n groaned again as Johnny opened the door slightly and peeked out.

โ€œAlright, step one: donโ€™t make a sound. Step two: if my dad sees us, just pretend youโ€™re delivering a pizza or something.โ€

Y/n rolled her eyes, getting off the couch.

โ€œThis is the dumbest plan ever.โ€

โ€œDumb, maybe. But itโ€™s gonna work.โ€

โ€œI canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m risking my life because of you.โ€ She scoffed.

"At least youโ€™ll have a great story to tell. If we survive, that is.โ€

โ€œYou are so not helping.โ€ She sighed.

โ€œI know.โ€

She grabbed her clothes from the chair in the corner, holding them like they were evidence from a crime scene.

โ€œOkay, Iโ€™ve got everything. Letโ€™s just get out of here before something else goes wrong.โ€ she whispered.

โ€œRelax. My plans never fail.โ€ He smirked.

Y/n gave him a flat look.

โ€œYou? The guy who once got caught skipping school because you fell asleep behind a vending machine? Yeah, totally reliable.โ€

Johnny rolled his eyes but motioned for her to follow.

โ€œCome on, just stick close and donโ€™t-โ€ He paused mid.sentence, peeking out into the hallway. His smirk quickly disappeared.

โ€œWhat? What is it?โ€ Y/n whispered, clutching her clothes tighter.

Johnny slowly turned back to her.

โ€œMy dad. Heโ€™s out there.โ€

Yn froze.

โ€œWhat?โ€ Her voice shot up and Johnny frantically motioned for her to keep quiet.

โ€œShhh! You want to get caught?โ€ He hissed.

โ€œWell, maybe I wouldnโ€™t be so loud if someone had a better plan!โ€ She snapped back in a whisper yell.

They both peeked out through the crack in the door. Sure enough, Johnnyโ€™s dad was standing in the kitchen downstairs ,pouring himself a cup of coffee. His face looked as grumpy as ever.

Y/nโ€™s eyes went wide.

โ€œOh no, oh no, oh noโ€ฆโ€ She started pacing in place, clutching her clothes like a life jacket.

โ€œStop freaking out!โ€ Johnny whispered, grabbing her arm to stop her from making noise.

โ€œHow can I not freak out?!โ€ She whisper yelled back.

โ€œYour dadโ€™s right there.and Iโ€™m dressed like a burglar sneaking out of your house!โ€

Johnny couldnโ€™t help but snicker.

โ€œYou do look pretty suspicious.โ€

โ€œJohnny!โ€ She smacked his arm but he only grinned.

They both peeked again. This time, Johnnyโ€™s dad was walking toward the living room. Y/n grabbed Johnnyโ€™s sleeve, panicking.

โ€œWhat do we do? Heโ€™s gonna see us!โ€

โ€œAlright, new plan. We wait until heโ€™s distracted. Maybe heโ€™ll go back to his office or something.โ€

โ€œOr maybe heโ€™ll see us and call the police because I look like a criminal!โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s not gonna call the cops, Y/n. Heโ€™ll just yell a lot and probably ground me for life.โ€ He rolled his eyes.

โ€œOh, great! Thatโ€™s so comforting!โ€ She hissed.

Suddenly, Johnnyโ€™s dad turned and started walking toward the hallway. Y/n panicked and grabbed Johnnyโ€™s hand.

โ€œWeโ€™re gonna die!โ€ She whispered dramatically.

Johnny tried not to laugh at how dramatic she was being.

โ€œOkay, just hide behind me. Iโ€™ll handle this if he sees us.โ€

โ€œYou? The guy who canโ€™t lie to save his life?โ€ She muttered.

โ€œDo you want my help or not?โ€ Johnny shot back.

โ€œFine, but if this goes bad, Iโ€™m blaming you.โ€ She whispered, clutching his arm as they both ducked down behind the door.

They waited, holding their breath as his dad passed by the hallway. Y/n peeked out with her eyes wide.

โ€œIs he gone?โ€ She whispered.

โ€œFor now. But we have to move fast.โ€

They carefully tiptoed toward the back door.

โ€œThis is the worst morning of my life.โ€ She muttered.

โ€œNah, itโ€™s kinda fun.โ€

โ€œSpeak for yourself.โ€

Both of them moved like they were in some spy movie...except, it wasnโ€™t nearly as smooth as they hoped.

Y/nโ€™s foot tapped on the floor and Johnny shot her a panicked look.

"Quiet!" He whispered harshly, gripping her arm like it was a life raft.

"I'm trying but you're the one who keeps tripping on stuff!" She whispered back.

Just then, Johnnyโ€™s dadโ€™s voice echoed down the hall.

โ€œJohnny, is that you in there?โ€

Both of them froze. Johnny immediately dropped to the floor, pulling Y/n down with him.

โ€œShhh!โ€ He hissed, pinning her to the ground.

Y/nโ€™s eyes were wide.

โ€œWhat now?โ€ she mouthed.

Johnny didnโ€™t say anything, just motioned for her to stay down. They both stayed there, barely breathing as his dadโ€™s footsteps grew closer.

"Is this really happening? This is like a nightmare.โ€ She muttered.

Johnny tried to hold in his laughter but it came out in a strangled chuckle.

โ€œDonโ€™t jinx it.โ€

Then, out of nowhere, his dadโ€™s voice boomed.

โ€œJohnny? I know youโ€™re in there, donโ€™t make me-โ€

The door to the kitchen creaked open.

Y/n, in her panic, elbowed Johnny in the ribs.

โ€œWhat do we do?!โ€ She whispered.

โ€œShhh!โ€ Johnny shot her a desperate look. But as they huddled there, Y/nโ€™s foot hit a stack of cans by the side of the counter.

The cans clattered to the floor with a loud crash.and both of them froze.

โ€œWhoโ€™s there?!โ€ Johnnyโ€™s dad shouted from the other room.

โ€œOh, no. This is it, weโ€™re caught!โ€ She whispered.

Johnny jumped to his feet and grabbed her arm.

โ€œRun!โ€ He hissed.

They bolted for the back door but just as they were about to open it, Johnnyโ€™s dad turned the corner and saw them.

โ€œHey! What the hell do you two think youโ€™re-โ€ Johnnyโ€™s dad started but Johnny didnโ€™t wait to hear the rest. He swung open the door and shoved Y/n through it.

They were outside now.but they werenโ€™t safe yet.

โ€œMove, move!โ€ Johnny shouted, running down the backyard like a madman with Y/n scrambling after him. They could hear his dadโ€™s footsteps behind them, getting louder.

โ€œWhere do we go?!โ€ Y/n yelled, trying to keep up.

โ€œIโ€™m not running in these shoes!โ€

โ€œJust follow me!โ€ Johnny yelled, dodging a bush and almost tripping over his own feet.

Y/n was right behind him but she wasnโ€™t much better at running.

โ€œI canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m doing this. This is the most ridiculous thing ever!โ€

Johnny smirked, glancing back.

โ€œTell me about it.but weโ€™re almost there!โ€

They made it to the side gate but just as Johnny was about to open it, he heard a loud voice behind them.

โ€œJohnny, you better not be-โ€

The gate swung open just in time and both of them squeezed through it, tumbling onto the ground on the other side.

They scrambled to their feet, Johnny wiping dirt off his pants while Y/n tried to adjust her clothes.

โ€œWell, that was... chaotic.โ€ Y/n gasped, looking up at Johnny, who was grinning from ear to ear.

โ€œThat was perfect. Nothing like a good olโ€™ escape.โ€

โ€œAre you serious? We almost got caught by your dad. You couldโ€™ve had me arrested!โ€

โ€œBut we didnโ€™t, did we?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re insane.โ€

โ€œYeah, well, youโ€™re the one who decided to drink and create this whole mess.โ€ Johnny teased.

โ€œDonโ€™t remind me.โ€

On their way back to Y/nโ€™s house, the night felt quieter but Y/nโ€™s nerves were still on edge.

Every shadow seemed to make her jump.and every little sound had her looking over her shoulder. Johnny, on the other hand was walking casually beside her.

โ€œRelax, itโ€™s just your house we are going to.โ€ Johnny said.

โ€œIโ€™m not worried about my house. Iโ€™m worried about my dad catching us sneaking around like criminals. We don't know if he is sleeping."

โ€œYeah, because thatโ€™s totally gonna go over well, right? โ€˜Hey, dad, just here with your daughterโ€™s... friend... sneaking in after a wild night.โ€™โ€

Y/n shot him a look.

โ€œStop it, youโ€™re not helping.โ€

He raised his hands in mock surrender.

โ€œIโ€™m just saying, if you get caught, Iโ€™ll be long gone. Iโ€™m not sticking around for that lecture.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not getting caught, Johnny. Just keep walking, please.โ€

But Johnny wasnโ€™t finished teasing her yet. He slowed his pace, giving her a wide eyed look.

"What if someoneโ€™s watching us right now?โ€

Y/n froze.

โ€œWhat?โ€

Johnny grinned, tapping her shoulder.

โ€œGotcha! You shouldโ€™ve seen your face, you were ready to bolt!โ€

Y/n punched his arm.

โ€œYouโ€™re so annoying!โ€

Johnny laughed, holding his arm in mock pain.

โ€œOw! You hit like a girl.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m a girl!โ€ she shot back then immediately regretted it.

โ€œUgh, I mean-forget it.โ€

โ€œYou know, for someone whoโ€™s going sneak in, you would make a great job of making it look suspicious.โ€ He teased, looking at her like she was a nervous wreck.

โ€œIโ€™m just being cautious! You wouldnโ€™t understand. You probably do this all the time.โ€

โ€œNot exactly. I just have a different approach to stealth. You know, like... not freaking out at every little thing.โ€ He shrugged.

Y/n narrowed her eyes at him.

โ€œI donโ€™t freak out!โ€

โ€œReally? Because I swear I saw you jump at that tree branch just now. I thought you were about to run for your life.โ€

โ€œI didnโ€™t jump.โ€

โ€œSure you didnโ€™t.โ€

They continued walking in silence for a moment but Johnny couldnโ€™t resist messing with her one more time.

โ€œSo...what if we got caught by your dad right now? What do you think heโ€™d say?โ€

Y/nโ€™s eyes widened and she immediately stiffened.

โ€œJohnny, stop it!โ€

Johnny laughed, practically doubling over.

โ€œCome on, youโ€™re too easy! Iโ€™m not gonna let you live this down anytime soon.โ€

As they got closer to her house, Y/nโ€™s steps slowed down.

โ€œOkay, seriously. I have no idea how Iโ€™m going to explain this to my parents even if I get caught.

โ€œJust tell them you got lost on your way home. Works every time.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re no help.โ€

When they reached her house, they both paused. Y/nโ€™s hands were shaking slightly  but Johnny was quick to tease again.

โ€œSo, do you need help getting inside without anyone noticing or are you good to go?โ€ He asked.

โ€œI think Iโ€™ve got this.โ€

Johnny raised his hands in mock surrender.

โ€œAlright, alright. But if your dad starts shouting, just know Iโ€™m already halfway down the block.โ€

โ€œOf course you are. Good night, Johnny. Thanks for... well, everything. I guess.โ€

โ€œYeah, yeah. Youโ€™ll thank me more once youโ€™ve had time to process the chaos of last night.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m still trying to forget it.โ€

She looked at the pipe and was ready to climb it.

โ€œHey, Y/n.โ€ He called out again.

She turned around.

โ€œDonโ€™t go sneaking around again. At least not without me."

โ€œWeโ€™ll see about that.โ€

โ€œSo...last night you were sneaking around with Mike and now youโ€™re sneaking back in with me. Interesting upgrade.โ€

Y/n froze, her face turning red as she shot him a glare.

โ€œJohnny, seriously?โ€

โ€œHey, just pointing it out. You go from one guy to another like it's nothing.โ€

Y/n threw her hands up in mock frustration.

โ€œYouโ€™re impossible!โ€

โ€œJust making sure you donโ€™t forget about me. Anyway, good luck getting in there without waking anyone up.โ€

โ€œYeah, yeah, thanks for nothing!โ€ Y/n muttered

โ€œAnytime. You know where to find me.โ€ He smirked.
