They sat in Johnnyโs room, waiting for the right time to sneak Y/n back home.
Johnny could sense Y/nโs embarrassment from a mile away and there was no way he was going to let this golden opportunity pass.
โSo...how does it feel to wake up in my room, wearing my clothes, after an unforgettable night?โ
โStop it, Johnny. I already feel horrible.โ
โHorrible?!โ Johnny gasped, clutching his chest dramatically.
โI thought youโd be honoured! Not everyone gets the VIP Johnny Lawrence drunk babysitting experience.โ
She peeked out from behind the pillow, narrowing her eyes.
โOh, honoured is definitely not the word Iโd use.โ
โYou know, you were so charming last night. Telling the waiter he needed some company? Classic. I bet heโll remember you forever.โ
Y/n gasped.
โI didnโt!โ
โOh, you did. And you even said my milkshake order was boring. You called me predictable in front of the guy!โ
She groaned again, throwing the pillow at him.
โWhy are you like this? Just let me suffer in silence!โ
โNope.โ Johnny said, catching the pillow easily.
โIโm paying you back for all the nonsense you put me through last night. You asked me so many dumb questions, Y/n. Like, do fishes drink water?โ
Y/n buried her face in her hands.
โPlease stop.โ
โAnd donโt forget, you almost climbed out my window when you decided you wanted to โsee the stars better.โโ
Y/n looked up, horrified.
โYouโre making this up. I did not do that.
โOh, I wish I was. You were halfway out before I pulled you back in. And you told me I was ruining your โadventure.โโ
Y/n threw another pillow at him.
โYouโre so annoying!โ
โHey, just returning the favour. Fairโs fair.โ
โYouโre enjoying this way too much.โ
โOf course I am. Iโve never seen you so embarrassed. Itโs hilarious.โ he smirked.
โFine. Get it out of your system now. But Iโll get you back one day, Johnny Lawrence. Just wait.โ y/n scoffed.
Johnny smirked, tossing the pillow back at her.
โIโd like to see you try. But until thenโฆโ He sat up straight.
โWant another piggyback ride? You seemed to love those last night.โ
Y/n groaned loudly, flopping back onto the couch.
โI hate you.โ
Johnny chuckled, standing up and stretching.
โHate me all you want but you still owe me for not letting you fall out a window. Now, letโs see if you can sneak back into your house without making your parents think youโve gone insane.โ
"How though?" She asked.
โAlright, hereโs the deal. Sneaking out of my house? Not as easy as it sounds.โ He explained.
โOh, come on, Johnny. Iโve had enough of this whole sneaking.around thing!โ
โWell, too bad. My dadโs like a hawk. Heโs always up, either watching TV or pretending to do something important. One wrong move.and weโre both toast.โ
Y/n stared at him with her eyes wide.
โAre you serious? What kind of life is this?!โ
โThe Lawrence life, sweetheart. Welcome to it.โ He shrugged.
She flopped back onto the couch dramatically.
โI hate this. I hate everything. Why didnโt I just stay home last night?โ
โOh, right. Because you wanted to make some new fresh friends. Totally worth it, by the way.โ
Y/n sat up and glared at him.
โYouโre the worst.โ
Johnny laughed, pointing at her.
โYou shouldโve seen your face when I said my dad might catch us. Priceless. Like you just found out Santa wasnโt real.โ
โJohnny!โ Y/n threw the pillow at him but he ducked easily, still laughing.
A/n: someone tell me how many times did I make them throw pillows?
โRelax. Iโve got a plan.โ he grinned.
โDoes it involve me hiding in a trash can or something equally ridiculous?โ
Johnny pretended to think about it.
โNow that you mention it, thatโs not a bad ideaโฆโ
โJohnny! I hate all of this!โ
He walked over and patted her on the head.
โCome on, itโll be fun. Like Mission: Impossible but with way more stakes because my dad will lose it if he finds you here.โ
Y/n peeked out from her hands, glaring at him.
โWhy do I feel like this is your way of getting back at me for last night?โ
โBecause it absolutely is.โ he smirked.
Y/n groaned again as Johnny opened the door slightly and peeked out.
โAlright, step one: donโt make a sound. Step two: if my dad sees us, just pretend youโre delivering a pizza or something.โ
Y/n rolled her eyes, getting off the couch.
โThis is the dumbest plan ever.โ
โDumb, maybe. But itโs gonna work.โ
โI canโt believe Iโm risking my life because of you.โ She scoffed.
"At least youโll have a great story to tell. If we survive, that is.โ
โYou are so not helping.โ She sighed.
โI know.โ
She grabbed her clothes from the chair in the corner, holding them like they were evidence from a crime scene.
โOkay, Iโve got everything. Letโs just get out of here before something else goes wrong.โ she whispered.
โRelax. My plans never fail.โ He smirked.
Y/n gave him a flat look.
โYou? The guy who once got caught skipping school because you fell asleep behind a vending machine? Yeah, totally reliable.โ
Johnny rolled his eyes but motioned for her to follow.
โCome on, just stick close and donโt-โ He paused mid.sentence, peeking out into the hallway. His smirk quickly disappeared.
โWhat? What is it?โ Y/n whispered, clutching her clothes tighter.
Johnny slowly turned back to her.
โMy dad. Heโs out there.โ
Yn froze.
โWhat?โ Her voice shot up and Johnny frantically motioned for her to keep quiet.
โShhh! You want to get caught?โ He hissed.
โWell, maybe I wouldnโt be so loud if someone had a better plan!โ She snapped back in a whisper yell.
They both peeked out through the crack in the door. Sure enough, Johnnyโs dad was standing in the kitchen downstairs ,pouring himself a cup of coffee. His face looked as grumpy as ever.
Y/nโs eyes went wide.
โOh no, oh no, oh noโฆโ She started pacing in place, clutching her clothes like a life jacket.
โStop freaking out!โ Johnny whispered, grabbing her arm to stop her from making noise.
โHow can I not freak out?!โ She whisper yelled back.
โYour dadโs right there.and Iโm dressed like a burglar sneaking out of your house!โ
Johnny couldnโt help but snicker.
โYou do look pretty suspicious.โ
โJohnny!โ She smacked his arm but he only grinned.
They both peeked again. This time, Johnnyโs dad was walking toward the living room. Y/n grabbed Johnnyโs sleeve, panicking.
โWhat do we do? Heโs gonna see us!โ
โAlright, new plan. We wait until heโs distracted. Maybe heโll go back to his office or something.โ
โOr maybe heโll see us and call the police because I look like a criminal!โ
โHeโs not gonna call the cops, Y/n. Heโll just yell a lot and probably ground me for life.โ He rolled his eyes.
โOh, great! Thatโs so comforting!โ She hissed.
Suddenly, Johnnyโs dad turned and started walking toward the hallway. Y/n panicked and grabbed Johnnyโs hand.
โWeโre gonna die!โ She whispered dramatically.
Johnny tried not to laugh at how dramatic she was being.
โOkay, just hide behind me. Iโll handle this if he sees us.โ
โYou? The guy who canโt lie to save his life?โ She muttered.
โDo you want my help or not?โ Johnny shot back.
โFine, but if this goes bad, Iโm blaming you.โ She whispered, clutching his arm as they both ducked down behind the door.
They waited, holding their breath as his dad passed by the hallway. Y/n peeked out with her eyes wide.
โIs he gone?โ She whispered.
โFor now. But we have to move fast.โ
They carefully tiptoed toward the back door.
โThis is the worst morning of my life.โ She muttered.
โNah, itโs kinda fun.โ
โSpeak for yourself.โ
Both of them moved like they were in some spy movie...except, it wasnโt nearly as smooth as they hoped.
Y/nโs foot tapped on the floor and Johnny shot her a panicked look.
"Quiet!" He whispered harshly, gripping her arm like it was a life raft.
"I'm trying but you're the one who keeps tripping on stuff!" She whispered back.
Just then, Johnnyโs dadโs voice echoed down the hall.
โJohnny, is that you in there?โ
Both of them froze. Johnny immediately dropped to the floor, pulling Y/n down with him.
โShhh!โ He hissed, pinning her to the ground.
Y/nโs eyes were wide.
โWhat now?โ she mouthed.
Johnny didnโt say anything, just motioned for her to stay down. They both stayed there, barely breathing as his dadโs footsteps grew closer.
"Is this really happening? This is like a nightmare.โ She muttered.
Johnny tried to hold in his laughter but it came out in a strangled chuckle.
โDonโt jinx it.โ
Then, out of nowhere, his dadโs voice boomed.
โJohnny? I know youโre in there, donโt make me-โ
The door to the kitchen creaked open.
Y/n, in her panic, elbowed Johnny in the ribs.
โWhat do we do?!โ She whispered.
โShhh!โ Johnny shot her a desperate look. But as they huddled there, Y/nโs foot hit a stack of cans by the side of the counter.
The cans clattered to the floor with a loud crash.and both of them froze.
โWhoโs there?!โ Johnnyโs dad shouted from the other room.
โOh, no. This is it, weโre caught!โ She whispered.
Johnny jumped to his feet and grabbed her arm.
โRun!โ He hissed.
They bolted for the back door but just as they were about to open it, Johnnyโs dad turned the corner and saw them.
โHey! What the hell do you two think youโre-โ Johnnyโs dad started but Johnny didnโt wait to hear the rest. He swung open the door and shoved Y/n through it.
They were outside now.but they werenโt safe yet.
โMove, move!โ Johnny shouted, running down the backyard like a madman with Y/n scrambling after him. They could hear his dadโs footsteps behind them, getting louder.
โWhere do we go?!โ Y/n yelled, trying to keep up.
โIโm not running in these shoes!โ
โJust follow me!โ Johnny yelled, dodging a bush and almost tripping over his own feet.
Y/n was right behind him but she wasnโt much better at running.
โI canโt believe Iโm doing this. This is the most ridiculous thing ever!โ
Johnny smirked, glancing back.
โTell me about it.but weโre almost there!โ
They made it to the side gate but just as Johnny was about to open it, he heard a loud voice behind them.
โJohnny, you better not be-โ
The gate swung open just in time and both of them squeezed through it, tumbling onto the ground on the other side.
They scrambled to their feet, Johnny wiping dirt off his pants while Y/n tried to adjust her clothes.
โWell, that was... chaotic.โ Y/n gasped, looking up at Johnny, who was grinning from ear to ear.
โThat was perfect. Nothing like a good olโ escape.โ
โAre you serious? We almost got caught by your dad. You couldโve had me arrested!โ
โBut we didnโt, did we?โ
โYouโre insane.โ
โYeah, well, youโre the one who decided to drink and create this whole mess.โ Johnny teased.
โDonโt remind me.โ
On their way back to Y/nโs house, the night felt quieter but Y/nโs nerves were still on edge.
Every shadow seemed to make her jump.and every little sound had her looking over her shoulder. Johnny, on the other hand was walking casually beside her.
โRelax, itโs just your house we are going to.โ Johnny said.
โIโm not worried about my house. Iโm worried about my dad catching us sneaking around like criminals. We don't know if he is sleeping."
โYeah, because thatโs totally gonna go over well, right? โHey, dad, just here with your daughterโs... friend... sneaking in after a wild night.โโ
Y/n shot him a look.
โStop it, youโre not helping.โ
He raised his hands in mock surrender.
โIโm just saying, if you get caught, Iโll be long gone. Iโm not sticking around for that lecture.โ
โIโm not getting caught, Johnny. Just keep walking, please.โ
But Johnny wasnโt finished teasing her yet. He slowed his pace, giving her a wide eyed look.
"What if someoneโs watching us right now?โ
Y/n froze.
โWhat?โ
Johnny grinned, tapping her shoulder.
โGotcha! You shouldโve seen your face, you were ready to bolt!โ
Y/n punched his arm.
โYouโre so annoying!โ
Johnny laughed, holding his arm in mock pain.
โOw! You hit like a girl.โ
โIโm a girl!โ she shot back then immediately regretted it.
โUgh, I mean-forget it.โ
โYou know, for someone whoโs going sneak in, you would make a great job of making it look suspicious.โ He teased, looking at her like she was a nervous wreck.
โIโm just being cautious! You wouldnโt understand. You probably do this all the time.โ
โNot exactly. I just have a different approach to stealth. You know, like... not freaking out at every little thing.โ He shrugged.
Y/n narrowed her eyes at him.
โI donโt freak out!โ
โReally? Because I swear I saw you jump at that tree branch just now. I thought you were about to run for your life.โ
โI didnโt jump.โ
โSure you didnโt.โ
They continued walking in silence for a moment but Johnny couldnโt resist messing with her one more time.
โSo...what if we got caught by your dad right now? What do you think heโd say?โ
Y/nโs eyes widened and she immediately stiffened.
โJohnny, stop it!โ
Johnny laughed, practically doubling over.
โCome on, youโre too easy! Iโm not gonna let you live this down anytime soon.โ
As they got closer to her house, Y/nโs steps slowed down.
โOkay, seriously. I have no idea how Iโm going to explain this to my parents even if I get caught.
โJust tell them you got lost on your way home. Works every time.โ
โYouโre no help.โ
When they reached her house, they both paused. Y/nโs hands were shaking slightly but Johnny was quick to tease again.
โSo, do you need help getting inside without anyone noticing or are you good to go?โ He asked.
โI think Iโve got this.โ
Johnny raised his hands in mock surrender.
โAlright, alright. But if your dad starts shouting, just know Iโm already halfway down the block.โ
โOf course you are. Good night, Johnny. Thanks for... well, everything. I guess.โ
โYeah, yeah. Youโll thank me more once youโve had time to process the chaos of last night.โ
โIโm still trying to forget it.โ
She looked at the pipe and was ready to climb it.
โHey, Y/n.โ He called out again.
She turned around.
โDonโt go sneaking around again. At least not without me."
โWeโll see about that.โ
โSo...last night you were sneaking around with Mike and now youโre sneaking back in with me. Interesting upgrade.โ
Y/n froze, her face turning red as she shot him a glare.
โJohnny, seriously?โ
โHey, just pointing it out. You go from one guy to another like it's nothing.โ
Y/n threw her hands up in mock frustration.
โYouโre impossible!โ
โJust making sure you donโt forget about me. Anyway, good luck getting in there without waking anyone up.โ
โYeah, yeah, thanks for nothing!โ Y/n muttered
โAnytime. You know where to find me.โ He smirked.
