Y/n peeked from the side of her book to see if they were still standing there or not.

Nope.

She finally allowed herself to breathe again. She had not realized just how tense she had been until now.

She looked  cautiously in the direction they had gone.

"Thank God." She sighed.

"I was so not in the mood for another drama class." She nervously laughed.

She continued reading her book until she felt someone's presence behind her back.

"Hmm..that's a nice book you are reading."

Dutch.

"Dutch?" She asked, turning around to face him.

"Oh yes. Me. Johnny actually warned me not to come towards you but now that I am out of their sight I decided to come have a little talk with you." He grinned.

"You are just wasting your time." She quietly answered.

"Not me. But Johnny did. Wasted his last school year being  a love sick puppy running behind you." He scoffed.

"Excuse me?"

"Excuse you,y/n. Who do you think you are? You dumped his ass right after the tournament. What? You got bored of him?" He asked.

" Let me give you some advise. Dutch. You should never interfere in a matter, which you know nothing about it." She sarcastically smiled.

"Ah. I see. You still have that attitude, huh?"

"Never left." She smirked.

"You have  really messed Johnny up. He might not show it, but I see it. You hurt him, Y/n."

"You think I wanted things to end like this? But you know what? Every step has a reason behind it."

"Save the philosophical shit. You don’t get it.Johnny’s different because of you. It’s your fault."

"Wha-"

"Johnny’s changed for the worse because of you." He almost shouted, not realising that he was in a library.

"He’s not the same guy he used to be. He’s distracted, pissed off all the time. Hell, he’s even letting things slide in the dojo. You did that to him." He added.

For a moment, she didn't know what to say or how to say it. She had not seen Johnny in the past five months and now hearing Dutch saying these things?

She was concerned.

"People change, Dutch.Maybe he’s changed, but that’s not all on me. It’s not that simple."

"It is that simple. He was better off before you and now… now he’s just messed up." He shook his head.

" He's messed up?" She asked.

"What did you expect? After you left him he would be throwing a fucking party around? You know I thought you were a decent one. The one . But we all were wrong."

"Why in the hell are you making me feel so bad!?" She asked.

" Maybe because you deserve it."

Another voice could be heard and it was none other than the blondie.

Johnny Lawrence.

Y/n turned her back towards Dutch to see her ex standing there.

For a moment, she froze. She didn't know why.

"Oh so you also want to join the accusations party?" She scoffed.

"Gladly. If it includes you. Because I have every right to accuse you. And you Dutch? I asked you to stay away. Guess what now? We both will be wasting our time here with miss. Backstabber." The blonde smirked.

"What the-"

"Yeah, man. Sorry I didn't listen but you know, you are my best friend. I had to ask her." Dutch shrugged.

"Now that I have caught her, I would pretty much like to have a civilized talk with her." Johnny raised an eyebrow towards her as he turned towards her.

"Sorry. I do not have time." She answered.

"Did I ask? And you have time for reading stupid books, huh?"

"I meant I do not have time for your stupid talks. I would very much prefer stupid books over stupid you two." She scoffed.

"Always so annoying." Johnny muttered under his breath.

"Cut to the chase, Lawrence. I know what you want to ask." She sighed.

β€œYou just walked away without even telling me why, Y/n.”

"So?" She asked.

β€œYou think you can just disappear and not give me a reason?” He shot back.

"I guess so."

"I so want to call you a bitch right now, but-"

"You just did."

"Hey, stop arguing like kids. Have the adult talk." Dutch chimed in.

β€œI didn’t owe you an explanation, Johnny. Not when you weren’t even willing to listen.”

β€œAre you fucking kidding me? Don't put this on me and  you just leave? Without a word? You think that’s fair?” Johnny scoffed.

β€œFair? You think any of this was fair? I couldn’t stay and pretend like everything was okay when it wasn’t. And you know that. Things were not properly okay. I tried to talk to you, but you never wanted to hear it.”

β€œMaybe I would have  listened if you had actually talked to me instead of running away!" He shouted.

" You always cared about yourself and that included you having me!"

β€œYou left me hanging, Y/n, without any clue what went wrong!” He weakly smiled.

β€œYou never asked! You never wanted to know what was really going on with me. It was easier for you to just ignore it, to ignore me.”

Johnny’s face fell slightly at that.

β€œI couldn’t ignore you if I tried.” He muttered and the admission slipped out before he could stop it.

"But you know what? You always pretended to be happy and all. It was your fault. You could have told me. I could have listened to you,but guess what? Now too I know jack shit what went wrong. This whole thing...talk is so useless."

" Then why are you still here, huh? It's not like you are going to get an answer." She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Why the fuck not?" He asked.

"Hey,um..just a quick tip. Keep it low. We are in a library." Dutch nervously chuckled.

"I don't care." Johnny shot back.

" But I care. Leave me alone and just let me be in peace." Y/n groaned.

"Let you in be peace when you fucked up mine? Now that's not fair." Johnny smirked.

Y/n knew this Johnny Lawrence. The one who just wanted to make her angry and she didn't want to let him win.

As she turned to walk away. But Johnny   could not just let her leave like that...not without getting the last word.

"Running away again, Y/n? That’s all you’re good at, isn’t it?"

She froze mid-step. Slowly, she turned to face him.

"You have no idea what I’ve been through, Johnny. You think this is easy for me? You think I wanted to walk away?"

"Could’ve fooled me. You’re real good at pretending you don’t care, Y/n. Maybe that’s your real talent." He crossed his arms.

"You don’t get to act like you’re the victim here. You never listened, never cared enough to ask why I was hurting. Your whole focus was just to get me. You just want someone to blame so you can keep pretending you’re perfect."

Johnny’s smirk faltered.

"At least I didn’t quit when things got tough. But I guess that’s just how you deal with things..by running away."

That was the last straw.

"You think you’re so tough, Johnny, but all you ever do is hide behind your ego and your friends. You’re the one who can’t face the truth!"

"Maybe I didn’t want to see the truth, Y/n. Maybe I didn’t want to admit that you were right there, slipping away, and I couldn’t stop it."

"You don’t get to taunt me and then play the victim, Johnny."

"I don't get you, y/n. I am the victim, actually." He narrowed his eyes at her.

Suddenly, more footsteps could be heard.

Mrs. Carter, the senior librarian, emerged from around the corner and  her expressions stern and unimpressed.

She was an older woman who was known for her strict adherence to the rules and her no-nonsense attitude.

Her sharp eyes quickly assessed the situation when she saw   Johnny’s clenched fists and Y/n’s flushed face.

β€œEnough!” Mrs. Carter’s shouted.

This  instantly silenced both Y/n and Johnny. They turned to face her and both suddenly got  aware of how loud they had been.

β€œWhat do you two think you’re doing, causing a scene like this in a public library?”

Johnny opened his mouth to respond but Mrs. Carter held up a hand and  silenced him.

β€œI don’t want to hear it, Mr. Lawrence. This is a place of learning, not a battlefield for your personal issues.”

β€œMrs. Carter, we were just—” Y/n tried to explain.

β€œI said enough!” Mrs. Carter snapped.

She fixed them both with a glare that could wither the most defiant teenagers.

β€œI don’t care what your reasons are. This behavior is completely unacceptable, in a public place.”

Johnny looked down, while Y/n looked around.

They didn't notice Dutch had already slipped away.

β€œI expect better from the both of you.Whatever disagreements you have, you will resolve them quietly and respectfully, not like this. Do I make myself clear?”

Both Y/n and Johnny nodded.

β€œGood. Now, I suggest you both find more productive ways to spend your time. And if I hear even a whisper of another incident like this-"

"It won't happen again." Y/n and Johnny both answered in unison.

She turned around and walked away.

Johnny looked around and noticed Dutch wasn't there.

"This motherfucker!" He muttered.

"Slipping away like a snake." She scoffed.

" Don't think this is over." He sharply said.

"Sorry, Lawrence. I don't think I will be seeing much of you now." She made a fake sad face and walked away.

" The fuck did she mean by that?"

A/n: what reason do you think she had?
