Y/n glanced toward Johnny, who was with his friends. She didn't want any more drama or trouble, especially after the way things had been going.

So, she turned to Mike.

"Hey, Mike, can you... I dunno, maybe take it easy on Johnny? I really don't want any more problems, okay?" She asked.

Mike raised an eyebrow and was a little surprised by her request but understood.

"Take it easy on him? You're worried about him?...Alright, Y/n, but only cause you're askin. I'll try not to stir things up too much."

Just as Mike finished talking, the coach called out from across the field and waved him over.

"Barnes! Get over here!"

Mike gave her a quick nod before jogging off to the coach.

She watched him leave and then turned toward Daniel, who was still standing there and looked a bit off.

She frowned and felt like something was up with him.

"Hey, Daniel, what's going on with you?" She asked in attempt to get him to talk.

But Daniel just shook his head and avoided eye contact.

"Nothing, I'm fine. I gotta go." He said quickly before walking away, leaving Y/n standing there, confused.

.

Meanwhile, Johnny was still with the cobras.

The three of the other cobras had been watching the whole thing and they couldn't help but start teasing Johnny when they saw Y/n cheering for Mike during the game.

Dutch grinned and elbowed Johnny.

"Hey, Johnny, did you hear Y/n cheering for Mike? Sounds like she's picking sides."

"Yeah, man, she was all about Barnes out there. What's that about, huh?" Jimmy laughed.

"Looks like Mike's got some extra support on the sidelines. Maybe Y/n's got a thing for him now." Tommy smirked.

But Bobby knew that was not a good topic to talk about so he kept quiet.

Johnny didn't like hearing that, not one bit.

Even though he was trying to act like it didn't bother him, he couldn't shake the frustration.

"Shut up...She got nothing to do with Barnes. She's just trying to be nice, that's all."

Atleast, that's how Johnny knew her.

But Dutch wasn't letting it go that easily.

"Nice, huh? Sure, man, whatever you say...Looks like she's more interested in him than you, though."

Johnny shot him a glare.

"I said, shut up, Dutch."

He didn't want to admit that Y/n cheering for Mike had gotten under his skin but it was clear it had.

Just then, Heather walked over to Y/n. She had seen the whole scene between Y/n, Mike, and Johnny and now she was curious.

"Hey, Y/n.What's up? You alright? You looked kinda distracted."

"Nah, it's nothing." Y/n answered.

Heather nodded though it seemed like she could sense there was more to it. But she didn't push. Instead, they both stood there and watched as the boys got ready for the second half of the game.

.

As the whistle blew for the second half, the coach's voice echoed across the field.

"Alright, let's get this second half going! And let's keep it clean, alright? No more nonsense out there!"

Johnny stood at the front with Mike not far behind and was ready to go again.

His frustration from the first half was still there, especially after hearing the boys tease him about Y/n cheering for Mike.

Now, he was ready to prove something but that aggression was starting to show in his play.

On the other hand, Daniel who had been quiet and keeping to himself during the first half was now ready get more involved.

He had noticed how Mike and Johnny had hogged the ball earlier and now he wanted his shot at the game.

But Dutch wasn't making it easy. Dutch kept glancing at Daniel and laughed every time Daniel tried to move into position.

"Come on, Larusso...You actually think you're gonna get the ball? Not with those two idiots hogging it up front."

Daniel shot Dutch a quick glare but didn't respond. He was focused and tried his best to get in the game even if Dutch found it funny.

Up front, Johnny and Mike were at it again. Both of them were aggressive and each tried to outdo the other.

They tripped each other up, shove a little too hard and get in each other's way more than they actually played the game.

At one point, as they both rushed for the ball, they collided hard and tripped over each other and fell flat on the field.

"Watch it, Lawrence!" Mike snapped as he picked himself up from the ground.

"Maybe you should learn how to play football, Barnes! You're the one in the way!"

"Me? You're the one tripping over your own feet!" Mike fired back as he dusted himself off.

As the two continued to argue, the opposing team stood there, just watching, unsure what to do as these two went at each other.

Even the coach, who had been trying to keep things under control looked completely fed up.

"Are you two done? This is football, not a fight! Get back in the game!"

But Johnny and Mike weren't listening. They kept arguing and each one blamrf the other for the fall, while the rest of the players just stood there and waited for the drama to end.

Daniel couldn't help but feel a little satisfied seeing Mike on the ground. He smirked slightly and was glad that at least Mike wasn't dominating the game anymore.

But his small moment of happiness was interrupted by Dutch, who was still laughing at the whole scene.

"You see that? Those two idiots can't even keep it together for a second. This is better than the actual game!"

.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines, it was like watching a circus.

"This is ridiculous, man. They're gonna kill each other before the game's even over!" Tommy laughed.

"I'm tellin' ya, this is better than any football game! Who cares who wins? This is the real show!" Jimmy smirked.

But while the boys found it all entertaining, Y/n sat there and felt a little more concerned than amused.

She watched as Johnny and Mike continued to argue and her worry grew.

She didn't want either of them to get hurt or for things to escalate even more.

"I swear, they're both gonna end up in a fight if this keeps going." She muttered

Beside her, Heather was also watching, though her concern was mostly focused on Johnny.

"Johnny's gonna end up getting himself in trouble if he keeps this up."

Y/n nodded but stayed quiet. She wanted to say something, to stop the mess before it got worse but she wasn't sure what to do.

All she could do was sit there and hope things didn't get any more out of hand.

The opposing team had had enough of the chaos. After watching Johnny and Mike argue and trip each other up over and over, they finally went to the coach feeling annoyed.

"Coach, this is ridiculous!" One of them complained.

"They're not even playing football! They're just arguing and messing around. It's not fair!"

"Yeah, they're just hogging the ball and fighting each other. We can't even get a chance to play!" Another player complained.

The coach sighed deeply. He'd been trying to keep things under control but it was clear that Johnny and Mike weren't listening.

"Alright, alright, I get it. I'll talk to them. Now get back out there and let's finish this game."

After hearing the complaints, Johnny and Mike knew they had to take things seriously or they'd both be benched.

As the game picked up pace again, Johnny and Mike were at the front and charged towards the goal.

Daniel was running in the middle and tried to keep up and get involved but Dutch was still laughing under his breath.

Johnny and Mike, despite their rivalry were both talented players. They darted past the opposing team and worked together just enough to keep the ball in their possession.

The other team was confused and struggled to keep up with their aggressive style of play.

With only a few minutes left in the game, Mike managed to break free with the ball at his feet.

He pushed past Johnny and sprintef toward the goal.

Johnny was close behind and wanted to stop him but Mike was faster this time.

Mike kicked the ball hard and sent it flying into the net.

The coach blew the whistle...goal!

"Yes!" Mike shouted and raised his fists in victory.

On the sidelines, Y/n cheered loudly for Mike and clapped her hands.

"Go, Mike! Nice one!"

Hearing her cheer for Mike made Johnny's jaw clench. He wasn't happy about losing the goal and hearing Y/n support Mike only made it worse.

Daniel wasn't too happy either. He had barely gotten a chance to play and now Mike had scored the winning goal. He crossed his arms and was irritated.

As the game came to an end, Johnny and Daniel both stayed quiet and were obviously not thrilled with how things turned out.

Meanwhile, Mike was grinning and felt pretty good about his victory.

Y/n's cheers, however, were still ringing in Johnny's ears.

.

"Man, Johnny's not gonna be happy about that goal. Mike really showed him up." Tommy suggested.

"Yeah, Johnny's all about winning. This is gonna hit him hard." Bobby agreed.

"You think he's gonna sulk? Bet he'll try to make up for it somehow. Probably start acting all tough again, you know how he is." Jimmy laughed.

"I don't know... Johnny looked pretty upset." Heather sighed as she glanced at him.

Without really meaning to, Y/n found herself joining the conversation.

"Yeah but it's not just about the game for Johnny...He's... competitive and it's not just football. He doesn't like losing to anyone, especially Mike."

"So, you think this'll get to him?" Tommy asked.

"Maybe. I know him pretty well. He'll act like it's no big deal, but inside? It's gonna bug him. Especially with Mike rubbing it in."

Heather nodded in agreement.

"You're right. I saw the way he looked after that goal. He's not happy."

"Well, maybe this'll be good for him. Get him to focus more, you know? He's been slacking lately." Bobby shrugged

"Yeah or he's gonna just come back with twice as much attitude. You know Johnny." Jimmy laughed.

Y/n didn't want to admit it but they were right. She knew Johnny was going to take this personally.

And the fact that she had cheered for Mike? That wasn't going to help things either.

Tommy nudged Bobby with his elbow.

"You think Johnny's gonna throw a fit later?"

"Oh, for sure. But it's gonna be fun to watch." Bobby smirked.

Y/n couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy. She knew Johnny and she knew how much losing, especially to Mike could affect him.

It was only a matter of time before he made his feelings known.

.

The coach gathered everyone on the field to announce the results. Johnny, Dutch, Mike and Daniel stood in a line and waited for the coach to speak.

"Alright, listen up!.For the upcoming matches between our college teams, Johnny, Daniel and Dutch, you three are going to be on the same team. Mike, you'll be on the other team."

Johnny and Daniel exchanged quick glances and neither of them were thrilled about being on the same team but they stayed quiet.

Dutch just shrugged like he didn't care.

The coach wasn't done yet, though.

"Now, for any outside competitions where we play against other schools, you four...Johnny, Dutch, Daniel and Mike, you'll be on the same team. You've got to work together."

That didn't sit well with any of them.

Johnny clenched his jaw and was not happy about having to team up with Mike.

Mike crossed his arms and lookef like he wasn't excited about the idea either.

Daniel shifted awkwardly and wad not thrilled about being with Johnny and Dutch.

But they all knew they had no choice. The coach's decision was final.

.

Meanwhile, the group at the sidelines were trying to figure out what was happening. They couldn't hear the coach's announcement and started making their own guesses.

Tommy squinted at the field.

"What do you think? Johnny and Mike on the same team?" He asked.

"Nah, no way. They'd kill each other. I bet the coach split them up." Bobby answered.

"Yeah, he probably put Johnny with Dutch. They work well together and Mike's probably stuck with Daniel." Jimmy added.

Heather tilted her head.

"I don't know... maybe they're all in the same team?"

"I doubt it. Johnny and Mike can't stand each other. The coach wouldn't want that drama on the same team." Y/n disagreed.

"Drama? That's all we got today!" Tommy laughed.

"Yeah, whatever happens, it's gonna be a mess. I can't wait." Jimmy chuckled.

Heather and Y/n exchanged glances. Heather gave a small smile but Y/n just sighed and thought about how awkward things were going to get with all these personalities clashing.

.

Johnny, Dutch, Daniel and Mike walked towards the sidelines after the coach's announcement. As they reached the group stood in a loose circle.

Johnny was the first to speak.

"Coach put me, Daniel and Dutch on the same team for the college matches...And for the outside competitions, it's all of us together, including Mike." He looked annoyed.

"Yeah, so we're all stuck with each other." Dutch didn't seem too bothered but it was clear that the others were.

Daniel gave a small nod and looked down at the ground for a second before speaking.

"I'm not too happy about it either..But we'll have to deal with it."

"Great, now we all have to play together. Should be real fun." Mike said sarcastically and his eyes narrowef as he looked at Johnny.

"So, you're all on the same team outside the college? That's gonna be something to watch!" Tommy smirked.

"Bet the other teams won't know what hit them with all that chaos on the field." Bobby nudged Tommy.

"Yeah, but at least we'll get some entertainment out of it!" Jimmy nodded.

"You guys better figure out how to work together." Heather sighed as she shot a quick glance towards Mike.

Y/n, on the other hand, didn't say much but glanced at Johnny and Mike. She knew this wasn't going to be easy for any of them.

Johnny's eyes flicked to Y/n for a moment but he didn't say anything to her directly. Instead, he turned back to the boys.

"We'll make it work. We don't have a choice."

Mike scoffed but didn't argue further. The group was silent for a moment.

This was only the beginning of what could be a bumpy ride playing on the same team.

A/n: now imagine what would happen in a dojo!
