After taking the tour, Y/n had mixed feelings.
Both good and bad.
Bad because of the cobras and good because she had Daniel and she met someone new.
But she didn't know if this change was going to be good or bad.
Given that everything in her life was now almost controlled by the cobras.
And she knew she had to take back that control, one way or another or maybe with the help of someone.
.
Y/n saw her father's car parked as she entered the house. And hoped he wouldn't ask too many questions.
"So how was it?"
Was the first question he asked with a stupid smirk.
Yup, she expected that question.
"Like it should be. Good." She simply answered and went for the stairs.
"Woah. How about we have a talk?" He asked as he turned his head towards her.
She stopped at the first step but did not look back.
"Talk about what exactly? Some new rules?" She scoffed.
"Something like that. C'mon. Let's have some father daughter time."
"I don't think I am used to it since you have been MIA my whole life." She sarcastically laughed.
"Love the sarcasm, now take a seat. Amelia!?" He shouted.
And Y/n's mother came running in a second.
"So you need something?" Her mother asked.
"Orange juice for me and Y/n." He literally ordered.
"Sure." She smiled and rushed towards the kitchen.
"Dad, if you wanted some orange juice you could have just asked me. It's not like I don't know my way around in the kitchen." Y/n asked.
"Let's let the housewife do the job, hmm?" He smirked.
She hated her father for treating her mother like that. But she couldn't do anything because her mother asked her not to.
She wanted him and Y/n under one roof as a family but Y/n did not love the idea.
She was just tolerating that man for the sake of her mother.
"You are impossible." She muttered under her breath and her father heard it but chose not to comment.
"So." He started as he stretched his arms probably after doing nothing all the day.
"So." Y/n forced a smile.
"You liked the college? It's the best in the area with a bright future."
"Yes,I liked the college, father." She sarcastically smiled.
"Good. Alright. So let's get to the main thing. You study and do nothing else, ok?"
"And?" She asked.
"Let me guess. That Lawrence must be there too. Right? If he is, you stay the hell away from him. Find yourself some another boy but not him. Got it?"
" It's not like I am still running after him so ok. I have my best friend Daniel with me and that's enough." She shrugged.
"Daniel? Whatever. I would love to meet him some day."
"Really? That's... surprising." She raised an eyebrow.
"Don't get hyped. And I should get no complaint from your college and stay out of trouble and other drama."
"Why don't you just say to be a straight 'A' student? That would be more convenient." She scoffed.
"You got the point. Good daughter. College is starting like when? Next week? You got one day, so better get ready."
"It's not like I am going to a war or something. I prefer resting so I'll just rest tomorrow and clear my mind, not like you care but anyways." She sighed.
"I do care about you. My method is different."
"You mean wrong. But I don't want to have this 'Lets understand eachother ' conversation with you so, if you will excuse me." She said and stood up.
Her mother came back with the orange juice.
"Y/n?" She said and Y/n eyed the orange juice and took the glass from the tray and left for her room.
" Maybe ask her to spend some time with her family, hmm?" Her father said.
"I will. Don't worry." Her mother nervously answered.
.
The next day, she spent it all on sleeping. She wanted to relax her body the day before a new chapter.
And God knows what it would bring in her life.
Funny thing was, that day her father did not complain about her sleeping all day and no one disturbed her.
This was the sort of life she wanted.
But she knew that was like... impossible in this birth.
.
The next day she woke up right on time.
She rubbed the sleep from her eyes, yawned and swung her legs over the side of the bed... only to knock over her water glass in the process.
"Ah, great start." She muttered as water spilled all over her nightstand and floor.
After quickly grabbing a towel to clean up the mess, she stumbled into the bathroom to begin her morning routine.
She brushed her teeth, washed her face and attempted to tame her tangled hair. However, she tripped on the bathroom rug and almost face planted into the sink.
Undeterred, she continued getting ready and carefully selected an outfit and trying to iron out the wrinkles only to scorch the fabric instead.
She finished off her look with a few swift strokes of mascara ...which, of course ended up smudged on her eyelids.
She took a deep breath, grabbed her backpack and headed downstairs ready to face her first day of college... with a few bumps and bruises.
Her parents were already seated at the table and were sipping their coffee.
Y/n's stomach twisted into knots as she approached the table and her father's gaze met hers with a strained smile.
"Morning, kiddo.First day of college, huh? Big day."
She nodded curtly and took a seat and loadwd up her plate with scrambled eggs and toast.
"Hey, sweetie, we're so proud of you! You're going to do great things. Don't forget to take notes and ask questions in class, okay?" Her mother smiled.
Y/n forced a smile and was grateful for her mother's support.
Her father, on the other hand, cleared his throat.
"Yeah and don't forget to stay focused and avoid any... distractions." His eyes narrowed slightly and Y/n felt annoyed.
"Got it." She replied curtly and avoided eye contact.
The rest of the breakfast was eaten in awkward silence with her counting down the minutes until she could escape to campus.
.
Y/n pulled into the crowded campus parking lot. She spotted a familiar figure parking his bike and couldn't help but smile.
Daniel was already on campus.
As she hastily parked her car and grabbed her bag, she rushed over to Daniel, who was struggling to chain his bike to a rack.
"Danny!" She exclaimed and flinged her arms around him in a tight hug.
Daniel was startled and stumbled backwards.
"Whoa, Y/n! Easy does it!" He laughed and returned the hug with a bit less enthusiasm.
She released him and grinned from ear to ear.
"First day of college! We made it!" She bounced up and down with her ponytail bobbing behind her.
"You're way too excited. It's just college, Y/n. We're gonna survive." He adjusted his backpack.
She playfully rolled her eyes.
"Oh, come on, Danny! It's a new chapter! We're gonna crush it!" She linked her arm through his and pulled him toward the campus entrance.
"Now let's go find our classrooms and make some poor life choices."
Daniel snorted and followed along.
"Sounds like a plan to me."
.
They both were in the same course - Business administration. Y/n's father forced her to take that for obvious reasons and Daniel just wanted to be with her.
They walked down the hallway and looked for their next class.
They saw the Cobra Kai gang standing by their lockers, laughing and joking around.
As usual.
Y/n suddenly felt uncomfortable.
She promised herself not to but it happened.
"Well, well, well... look what we have here." Johnny laughed.
She felt a shiver down her spine.
Daniel squeezed her arm.
"Keep walking, don't look back." He whispered.
But just as they thought they had escaped, Johnny called out.
"Hey, Y/n! Welcome to college... you're going to need luck to survive!"
Y/n's heart raced as she quickened her pace, Daniel by her side.
Suddenly, the hallway seemed darker. And then, just as they turned a corner...
Everything went black.
A/n: Well, she had a nice start. Don't you think?
