Y/n walked back into the party. On her way, she spotted Heather near the snacks table. Y/n hesitated but decided to say something.
"Hey, Heather." Yn called out, forcing a small smile.
Heather looked up, surprised.
"Oh, hi, Y/n."
"That dodge earlier?" Y/n said, tilting her head.
"Pretty impressive. I didn't know you could move like that."
Heather's cheeks flushed.
"Oh, uh, thanks. Just... instinct, I guess."
Y/n gave her a nod.
"Well, it was cool."
With that, she moved on, her focus back on her real mission: finding Johnny.
After weaving through the crowd, Y/n finally spotted him leaning against a wall with Tommy beside him. Her stomach sank slightly.
Of course, Tommy's here.
"Johnny." Shs called out as she approached.
Both boys turned to her.
"What, Mike ditch you already?" Johnny smirked.
"Yeah, where's your little boyfriend, Y/n? Didn't think he'd leave you all alone." Tommy laughed.
"Shut it, Tommy. No one asked you." She snapped.
Tommy blinked, startled by her sharpness.
"Alright, alright, geez."
Y/n turned her attention back to Johnny, ignoring Tommy completely.
"Can I talk to you for a minute? Alone?"
"Oh, this should be good. What, you got another favour to ask me?"
Y/n sighed, already regretting this.
"Can we just talk?"
Johnny shrugged.
"Fine. Lead the way."
Tommy started to follow, but Y/n shot him a glare.
"Not you, Tommy. Stay."
"Whatever." He muttered.
Y/n turned and walked off, with Johnny following behind her.
Y/n and Johnny walked through the crowded house, searching for a quiet spot but everywhere was packed.
The lawn outside was full of people chatting and laughing, and every corner of the party seemed to have someone in it.
Y/n glanced around and then, without thinking, grabbed Johnny's arm and tugged him toward the nearest bathroom.
"What are you doing?" Johnny asked but he didn't resist.
"Just...come on." Y/n muttered, pushing open the bathroom door and pulling him inside.
She quickly shut it behind them, leaning against it for a moment to catch her breath.
"Seriously? A bathroom? You're really desperate to have a little chat, huh?"
Y/n huffed, avoiding his teasing look.
"It's the only place that's quiet. Stop laughing."
"This is hilarious. You dragged me into a bathroom to talk about whatever drama you've got going on? You must really want something."
Y/n glared at him.
"Can you stop making jokes for one second?"
He raised his hands in mock surrender.
"Alright. Say what you gotta say."
"Listen, I need you not to tell my dad about me sneaking out. Alright?"
"Oh, of course. Straight to the point, huh? You always come to me when you want something, don't you?"
Y/n frowned.
"That's not true."
Johnny laughed lightly. He was used to it.
"Oh, it's true. Every time you need someone to fix your mess, suddenly I'm worth talking to. But when it's not about you? Nothing."
"This isn't about fixing anything. It's just... don't tell him, okay?"
"Why shouldn't I? Maybe your dad deserves to know what his perfect little daughter is really up to."
"What's your problem, Johnny? I just asked you not to tell my dad. Is that so hard?" She almost shouted.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's the fact you snuck out with Mike of all people. Out of everyone, you pick him?"
Her face turned red with frustration.
"What's so wrong with Mike? He's not that bad!"
Johnny let out a sarcastic laugh.
"Not that bad? Oh, sure. Real genius choice there. What's next, Y/n? Running off to elope with him?"
Y/n threw her hands in the air.
"You're being ridiculous! I didn't sneak out for him. I just wanted to go to the party!"
Johnny's grin turned into a scowl.
"Yeah, well, you didn't seem to mind having him tag along. Bet he loved playing your knight in shining armour."
"Why do you care so much? It's not like it's any of your business."
"Oh, I don't care at all. Just hilarious to watch you make dumb decisions and then come crying to me to fix it."
"I'm not crying to you. I just don't want my dad to kill me, okay? You're the one making it a big deal." She sighed.
Johnny rolled his eyes dramatically.
"Yeah, well, maybe if you stopped sneaking out with losers like Mike, I wouldn't have to deal with your mess."
They stood there, practically nose.to nose, both fuming like kids fighting over a toy.
They were ready to start arguing all over again but there was a loud knock on the bathroom door.
"Hey! Hurry up in there! Some of us need to take a piss!" A voice called from outside.
Johnny groaned loudly, feeling annoyed.
"Unbelievable." he muttered.
He stormed over to the door, yanked it open and glared at the guy standing there.
"Get lost! We're busy!" he snapped.
The guy blinked, startled by Johnny's tone and quickly backed away.
"Uh, okay, man, chill!" He mumbled, walking off in the opposite direction.
Johnny slammed the door shut and turned back to Y/n.
"Can't even argue in peace anymore.
He took a good look at a frustrated Y/n.
"Alright.Fine. I won't tell your dad."
Y/n let out a small sigh of relief but before she could thank him, Johnny raised a hand to stop her.
"But...you've gotta explain something to me." He tilted his head slightly.
"Why the hell would you sneak out with Mike? Of all people?"
"Wha-"
"I mean...you barely know the guy. So, what's the deal? You got some kinda reason or is this just you being reckless again?"
Y/n crossed her arms, looking defensive but also a bit embarrassed.
"I just... I wanted to come to the party, okay? I knew my parents wouldn't let me, so I didn't have a choice."
"You did have a choice. You could've told me or even Daniel. You think he wouldn't have talked to your parents for you?"
"Oh sure, because Daniel always knows what to say. Like my parents would listen to him."
"More than they'd listen to you sneaking out with Mike. Seriously, Y/n, what were you thinking?" He rolled his eyes.
She looked away, not having much of an answer.
Johnny took a step closer, his eyes narrowing as he studied her.
"Hold up. Are you lying to me again? Maybe you do like him. Because you sure trusted him enough to sneak out with him."
Y/n's jaw dropped, the nerve of him to suggest that.
"Are you serious? What are you even talking about? I don't like Mike like that. I told you!"
"I think you're lying. You wouldn't have sneaked out with him if you didn't like him a little, right?"
Y/n felt a wave of disbelief.
"Johnny, are you jealous or something?" she asked, looking at him like he was crazy.
"I'm not jealous."
Y/n just stared at him, shocked. She didn't get why he was making this about Mike. It was like he wasn't even listening to her.
"Johnny, I don't like Mike, okay? I never did. It was just a party, that's it."
Johnny didn't seem convinced. He stood there, staring at her.
"What if you're just saying that to avoid the drama?" He asked.
She was done with this conversation.
"What do you want from me, Johnny? What can I do to prove to you that I don't like Mike? I'm not lying to you."
Johnny didn't say anything at first. He just stood there, watching her with that same intense gaze.
Then, slowly, a sinister smile spread across his face, one that made Y/n's stomach drop.
"Maybe there's a way you can prove it." he said.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
Johnny took a step closer, his presence suddenly felg more intimidating.
"You could show me. Prove it to me. But I don't think you will." His eyes locked with hers and she felt an uncomfortable chill run down her spine.
"I already told you I don't like him, Johnny!" she shot back.
But deep down, she couldn't help but feel uneasy. She didn't like where this conversation was going.
Johnny stepped even closer, a look in his eyes that sent a shiver down her spine.
"You can say you don't like him all you want. But actions speak louder than words, Y/n."
Y/n stepped back. This was getting weird and she didn't know what Johnny was trying to do but she didn't like it.
"What are you saying?" she asked.
"I'm saying you can prove it to me if you want. Or keep pretending. But I'm not buying it." He smirked.
Y/n felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. This wasn't just about Mike anymore.
Johnny was messing with her and she wasn't sure how far he'd take it. She opened her mouth to say something but before she could get the words out, Johnny turned and walked toward the door.
"Think about it." He said without looking back.
"But I'll be watching."
Y/n stood there, frozen. What just happened?
A/n: sometimes I get so productive about writing my fics and I still am but sometimes I just don't know what to do. It's annoying.
