Lily walked through the school shamefully, two weeks had gone by since everyone found out. Since Y/n found out. She felt so guilty for what she had done, but she didn't regret it. Not at all, which seemed so shitty of her. She actually missed it, that one summer break where she felt she had it all.

She had what Y/n had, she had managed to get the boy that she at first hated. But once Y/n started hanging out with him before they began dating, some feeling arose in Lily. She had started crushing on him, which was horrible.

But James wasn't intrested in Lily, all the comments he used to say to her just stopped. He seemed so much more focused on Y/n, everything was about her. And Lily couldn't help but feel jealous.

But I can see us lost in the memory
August slipped away into a moment in time
'Cause it was never mine
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets
August sipped away like a bottle of wine
'Cause you were never mine.

She remembered how she felt in his arms, almost like they had been together for years. Like they were some amazing couple, but no, they weren't. They were just two people, doing the worst thing to the one person they both cared about.

Lily had tried to speak with Y/n, but she would always get shrugged off. Lily didn't blame her, she would've done the same.

Lily often watched James from across the room, with longing looks. James didn't even look near Lily, he only stared at Y/n. Sirius would glare at Lily, it was very obvious he was not happy with what she did. Sirius of course wasn't very happy with James, but they lived together, what else is he supposed to do?

But do you remember?
Remember when I pulled up and said, "Get in the car"
And then canceled my plans just in case you'd call?
Back when I was livin' for the hope of it all, for the hope of it all
"Meet me behind the mall"

Lily remembered the whole start to this very well, how she had seen him walking down the street alone. She had pulled to a stop beside him, chatted him up and invited him for a drive. And one thing led to another, and they became tangled in the sheets. And every after that, they'd meet up behind the mall.

And though James was with Lily. Sleeping next to her, he would lay there and think of Y/n. Or he'd even have a dream involving her.

Those days turned into nights
Slept next to her, but
I dreamt of you all summer long

He never stopped loving Y/n, and he knew he never would. She was his everything, and he had broken her. He broke her heart, he broke her trust. And he hated himself for it.

More weeks passed, and school came to an end and they all graduated. Y/n and James didn't speak, and the same with Lily. Throughout the year Y/n made many more friends, but never found a new lover. She was still hung over James, not to mention she was still in love with him. Even after what he did.

She would always love him.

Currently Y/n sat in her house(thanks to the help of her parents, and own job)with Alice, Dorcas Meadowes, Mary, and Marlene. Y/n and Marlene had become close over their last year of school, which lead to her meeting Marlene's girlfriend Dorcas.

"So, now that....well we've all graduated, and are adults, what now?" Marlene said, tossing her phone down on Y/n's bed.

"I could throw a party or something, Y'know for everyone whose graduated and shit?" Y/n said questioningly, "I mean like a graduation party or sumthin'."

Dorcas nodded "Yeah, that actually sounds fun." She said, moving a curl of her dark hair from her face.

"I agree, Marlene could go out and tell everyone about it. While the rest of is set up." Mary said.

"When should it even be?" Alice askes, "Where would it even be?"

"We could do it next Monday." Y/n said "It's Wednesday, so thay gives us five days to get everything and for everyone to hear about it." She said, "And we coul throw it here of course

Marlene nodded "On it, I'm sending the information to everyone on my snap and posting about it on insta!" She said, as she began typing on her phone.

James sat as home on the couch, scrolling through Instagram. Specifically Y/n's instagram, which hadn't been used since they split up. Pictures of her, and the both of them together were the only pictures he cared about. There was pictures of Lily, and her other friends. But he didn't care for them.

His parents as usual weren't home, they were once more on some business trip. Nothing new to the boy. They always seemed to have some business trip planned, or getting ready for one. He and Sirius 1almost always had the house to themselves, which he used to find awesome. Only cause he had Y/n.

Suddenly James got a text from Sirius, which didn't surprise him since he was out on a date with Remus.

Padfoot

You hear about Y/n's party?

What?

Yeah
Apparently Y/n is throwing a party
Dude this is tour shot
Your*
This could be your chance dude

Idk man
She hates me
I mean
What i did was horrible
I betrayed her

I mean yeah
That's true
And I'm still pissed about it cause shes like my sister

Okay asshole
I know
I made a mistake okay
We've all made them
But that does not justify what I did
I shattered her
She has to hate me man

She doesn't hate you
I mean yeah what you did was fucked
And I'm still mad about it
But come on this is y/n we're talking about

James sat on his couch, just staring at his phone. He frowned slightly as two parts of his mind argued. If he showed up to the party two things could possibly happen, one good one bad. If he went he would have a chance to explain himself, maybe get the girl he loved back. But on the other hand, the bad hand, she could insult him and tell him to go fuck himself.

Which wouldn't surprise him if she did, cause hell he deserved it. He thought he deserved worse than that. James sighed and ran his hands through his unkempt hair, he wanted her back so bad. He had to explain to her, maybe if he got the chance he coudl fix everything.

But if I just showed up at your party
Would you have me?
Would you want me?
Would you tell me to go fuck myself?

Or lead me to the garden?
In the garden would you trust me
If I told you it was just a summer thing?
I'm only 17, I don't know anything
But I know I miss you

James sighed and tossed his phone down, running his hands through his hair. He threw his head back and stared at the roof. Sirius was right, this was his only chance.

Y/n sat in James's car. Once again they were having another nice late night drive, something they did often while they dated. Classic rock was blasting, specifically Queen, and Y/n was singing loudly to the song that played. James would look over at her with a lovesick look on his face, she had him completely whipped.

"THUNDERBOLTS AND LIGHTNING, VERY, VERY FRIGHTENING ME GALILEO, GALILEO, GALILEO, GALILEO!" Y/n shouted, a large smile on her face.

The window was rolled down, so the wind blew slightly in her face. Which would mess up her hair, that Y/n didn't even bother to fix. She was having too much fun singing, and hanging out with her boyfriend. Nothing could ruin this moment.

Y/n looked over at James with a smile "How are you not embarrassed by me?" She asked with a laugh, turning the music down.

"Darling, the more important question is how are you not embarrassed by me?" James joked, "I mean, I'm an absolute menace to society!"

"Yes, but your my menace to society." Y/n said fondly, a smile on her face and a slight blush on her face.

Aftet graduation, Lily still hadn't spoken to James or Y/n. No matter how much she tried to talk with them, neither of them will acknowledge her. She still thought about her nights with James, wishing she could go back to thoes nights. At this point she wanted to just give up on him, she had lost him completely at this point.

Though, he was never actually hers to lose. They were never in a relationship, and they never would be. It was just a summer thing, that meant nothing to James. But they meant everything to Lily.

Cancel plans just in case you'd call
And say, "Meet me behind the mall"
So much for summer love and saying "us"
'Cause you weren't mine to lose
You weren't mine to lose, no

But I can see us lost in the memory
August slipped away into a moment in time
'Cause it was never mine
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets
August sipped away like a bottle of wine
'Cause you were never mine
